00:06Hitman has always had a competitive edge
00:11In Absolution we're giving you the opportunity to prove yourself
00:15To challenge your friends
00:17Challenge the world
00:19And even make custom hits yourself
00:28The idea for Hitman Contracts actually comes from seeing what the fans have done with our older games
00:33They have created any number of really, really impressive alternate hits
00:39Taking out clowns in interesting ways
00:41Or really showing off what the game mechanics can do
00:44In many ways, things that we didn't expect were even possible within the game
00:48And they've done it
00:49The Hitman games have always been about this dark creativity
00:52Because the subject matter is dark, right?
00:54You are an assassin and you're killing people
00:56And people always found different ways of doing it
00:59New ways of doing it
01:00And they always found it fun to challenge each other
01:03Talk about what did you do in this specific level
01:05What approach did you take?
01:07And this is very much what fuels Contract
01:09The fact that Hitman Absolution is super replayable on a lot of levels
01:14Which way you take, who you kill, what you do
01:16What disguise you wear, what weapons you use
01:18All that stuff easily transcends into Contracts
01:21And it's actually the base of what makes that game mode so fun
01:24You play to create
01:26When we were looking at what to do in Hitman Absolution as a supplement to the story
01:30We talked about how could we enable fans to do that kind of thing
01:34And make it part of the game experience
01:36You create Contracts by playing the game
01:38You mark your targets and you take them out
01:40And you move through the levels
01:42Creating the rules as you go
01:44Contracts is very much about creativity
01:47You have to do it yourself
01:48It's not only so we know that it's actually doable
01:51But it's also a way for you to express your skill or your style while doing the Contracts
01:56And then after you're done you will share this Contract, you can name it
01:59And then you put it on our servers and your friends and everyone else is able to play them
02:03So playing through the game and creating the Contract as you go
02:07Takes the Noble Art of Assassination and makes it into something that actually becomes a competitive sport
02:12So it's the first time you can really go heads up with some other players, right?
02:16By doing the Contracts or by saying to your friends
02:19Okay, I challenge you guys
02:20We take this Contract and then we see who of us is the best Assassin
02:24Who gets the highest score
02:25And that actually adds a new element to the game as well
02:28So we can replay it, not only just to express creativity, but also to compete and show kind of who's
02:33the best
02:34We have had a lot of fans request on forums this sandbox kill tool, if you will
02:38All the previous Hitman games have been these sandboxes where you actually kill people however you want
02:43And what they said is, why are we not able to do that?
02:46Why can't we pick the targets?
02:47And that's exactly what we are doing in Contracts
02:49We are giving you the ability to go into a level and select the targets you want to kill, basically
02:54And doing so you actually change how that level plays, what it's about, what is the pacing, which route do
02:59you take
03:00All that is pretty much defined by what targets you choose for other players to try to kill
03:06And that is really what makes Contracts unique
03:19While we're here in Cologne to show off the last missing piece of the Hitman resolution to the press, which
03:24is Contracts mode
03:25There's a lot of journalists in here right now, I think 270 journalists from across the world, so pretty exciting
03:32It's super exciting for us, this is, we believe, what we call the exciter of the project
03:41You always need something new and exciting when you release a game that will make people talk about it
03:47And we've been showing off things that are more or less like the old Hitman games
03:54Just kind of expand upon everything
03:55But this is something that is completely new and hopefully something that will knock their socks off
04:11All over the campaign we always think, yeah, when we get online questions, H47 works alone, H47 works alone
04:17But now we sort of lift that last way, it's like, hey guys, you can play online, you can compete
04:22together
04:22And you're gonna have a great time
04:27It went very, very well, it kind of exceeded our expectations
04:31I think people got a lot to take away
04:33It was a very tight and very, you know, condensed presentation
04:39People loved it, I talk to a lot of guys right now and they're really surprised actually
04:42Like, this is something new, this is something fresh, we really want to play that, so it couldn't be better
04:47And that's why we kept it, you know, as the last puzzle piece
04:49To add it on top of what's already awesome, right?
04:52So we're in a good spot right now and I'm very happy about it
04:57Let's find the world's ultimate assassins
05:00And the world's ultimate contracts
05:06It's all in the execution
