29:41So I think the digital downloads will be important for the hard drive, but let's remember the video streaming part,
29:45and streaming in general, will be a really critical part of where we go at the S4.
29:48Let's talk about a couple of the other features. I'm really interested in the share feature.
29:51You know, so many YouTube channels utilize live-action gameplay in sharing their knowledge about games and cheat codes that
29:58I know I use on game walkthroughs.
30:01So talk to me about the share feature.
30:03So sharing was born of seeing how many people were doing this on the Twitches and the Ustreams and the
30:08YouTubes, and it was kind of a surprise.
30:10I'll be honest, when I started looking at this a few years ago, I said, there is no way that
30:13we have, but we saw one person that was playing a shooter game that's well-known that had a million
30:19people watching him play right then.
30:20I said, this is incredible. And so we said, you know what, let's start thinking about how we integrate this.
30:26Sharing was born to really allow someone like you to take what you've done really well, the last 15 minutes
30:32of your gameplay, and put it up for the community to see.
30:34And I think it's fantastic, not only for cheat codes, but also for the trash talking that certainly is part
30:41of sports games and action and shooter.
30:44And I think this is going to be such a big thing. We've made it easy.
30:47So if you've seen the DualShock 4, there's a button on there now that just says share, and it allows
30:51you to upload what you've done.
30:53And you can edit it and whatnot. It's going to be, I think, an important thing.
30:56We talk about the social part of the PlayStation 4 a lot, and sharing is such a critical part of
31:00that.
31:01Absolutely. And I'm glad you brought up the new DualShock, because I noticed it has that motion sensor on the
31:05front.
31:06How does that work with the PS4?
31:08So you're talking about the light bar?
31:09Yeah, the light bar in the front.
31:10So the light bar ties in with the camera. So it reads against the camera for a real precise location
31:15-based type experience.
31:17We didn't go a lot into the camera last night. In fact, we didn't really at all.
31:20We've talked about it in the past. So to answer your light bar question, it allows for location.
31:26Okay.
31:26The camera, because I know that's also a question.
31:28Yes. How is the PSI going to work with it? Will it be your bundle?
31:31Yeah. So we've changed the name. It's PlayStation Camera.
31:33Okay.
31:33Just officially. And the PlayStation Camera works with some games.
31:37It'll also work with various system features, which we'll be talking about as we go on.
31:41It'll be important, not required for any type of real experience, but it's certainly additional and recommended for some game
31:48experiences and others.
31:49So we'll talk about that as we go on.
31:51But the DualShock and camera relationship is a big part of how the camera operates.
31:56Very cool. Talk to me a little bit about Gaikai and how that cloud feature works.
31:59I know we heard a little bit about the press conference last night, but just kind of reiterate how that
32:02feature works.
32:04Gaikai was a purchase of SCEI, or PlayStation, a year, maybe a year and a half ago.
32:09And it was done with a view to the future.
32:11So we saw that what Gaikai was building was an infrastructure to allow that kind of playing of games from
32:16the cloud.
32:17And that's a really, really important thing for us.
32:20As we go on, we really do believe that that's an aspect that's going to really enhance the disk space
32:24and the digital download portion.
32:26Just as we were talking about video streaming a few minutes ago, game streaming is critical too.
32:31Andy House talked last night about how our aspirations are PlayStation 3 games that can be played on PlayStation 4,
32:37on Vita, on PlayStation 3.
32:39And that's certainly true.
32:39So we haven't gotten into real timing, specific timing other than 2014, but it's a really important part of the
32:45PlayStation future.
32:46Great. I know a lot of people were asking me, will their PlayStation Network accounts, trophies, will all that be
32:51transferable on PS4?
32:52It will. It will. Yeah.
32:53So PlayStation Network's being made to seamlessly transition.
32:56I think even today, you talk about PlayStation Plus and what's available on PlayStation Plus today.
33:02It will transfer over to your experience on PlayStation 4 in so much as your membership.
33:07So really, we're trying to make it as easy as possible.
33:09Again, going back to the original discussion, we're for gamers.
33:12Let's make it easy.
33:13Let's not make this difficult and go look in the manual and try to figure things out.
33:16Just seamless.
33:17Great.
33:17One last question for you.
33:19Release date.
33:19When can I get one?
33:21I think the best answer to that is holiday.
33:23Okay.
33:24So ask Santa for one.
33:25Yeah.
33:25So ask Santa for one and I think everybody will be happy.
33:28Awesome.
33:28Well, John, thank you so much.
33:29I really appreciate you stopping by.
33:38Thank you.
