00:13Hey, what's going on?
00:14I'm Zack Cooper, your Splinter Cell community developer,
00:16and this is what we're calling the Ghost Playthrough.
00:20Briggs, Jadidas in the Upper Village look for satellite dishes.
00:24Got it. Standing by for you, go on X-Film.
00:26Sam, Homeland Security can't find a blacklist target.
00:30We're down to hours before the attack.
00:31Copy.
00:32All right, so what we're going to do right now is show you a few things
00:34that you didn't see in the blacklist demos from E3 or Gamescom.
00:38Just so we get some of the formalities out of the way,
00:40everything you are witnessing here is in a pre-alpha state.
00:43Some of the AI mechanics are really early,
00:45the non-lethal animations haven't been added to this build,
00:48and that's probably something else we should mention.
00:50The demo that you've seen is exactly that,
00:52a demonstration designed to show off some key elements,
00:55like killing in motion and support from the newly formed 4th Echelon team.
00:58We're going to avoid those elements and show you some alternate pathways
01:02and a bunch of other cool things, but we'll get there in a bit.
01:05All right, so this guy's obviously busy washing his hands.
01:07It's not getting in the way of good hygiene.
01:08Let's go around.
01:14So what we can see here, we've got three enemies over there by the truck,
01:18at least one further back, and then there's the hand washer to our right.
01:22Let's try and go at this from a different angle.
01:26As we wait for an opportunity to move, take a look at Sam Fisher,
01:30the sweet job the animation team at Ubisoft Toronto has done.
01:33Sam's always aware of his surroundings.
01:35Now look at that, cliff.
01:38Now this cliffside will provide a great way to get around the bend
01:41and avoid all those bad guys.
01:46In fact, let's take a look and see exactly what we missed.
01:59We found another cliffside and with it the opportunity for some more sneakiness,
02:03but you watch the original demo in that top right corner
02:05while we get into position for our next move.
02:25That was killing in motion.
02:27And we're not going to do it.
02:29Let's try and do this quietly.
02:32Sam, I'm seeing half a dozen soldiers and a high-caliber technical across that bridge.
02:36Could get loud.
02:37Not if we don't let it.
02:39Back to the sneaky sneaky.
02:44All right, we appear to be in good shape.
02:45Let's see the damage report.
02:47So in the original demo,
02:49we took out seven guys using an abduction takedown in the tent
02:53before we went on a killing in motion tear,
02:55which ended with that badass Mozambique drill.
02:58In this ghost playthrough, on the other hand,
03:00we left them all standing.
03:02It's your choice.
03:03Do as you wish.
03:04You've heard us talking about a variety of gameplay,
03:06and it is most definitely in there.
03:08We'll get to share more of all the play styles in our coming communications.
03:12In the interim,
03:13let's see what's brewing on the other side of this cliff.
03:16Just hope you're not afraid of heights.
03:42Okay, so as you can see,
03:44as you may know,
03:45dogs are indeed back,
03:46and they can be pretty tough to deal with.
03:48Let's try to get by
03:50without having to take them out.
03:55There.
03:57All right.
03:58Okay, so far so good.
04:00Let's use our goggles now just to make sure.
04:12All right, so the dog seems to have found something else.
04:14In the original demo,
04:16we went to our right over there,
04:17so let's stick to the left.
04:20All right,
04:21as long as we don't get detected by the dog.
04:28All right,
04:28so he's heading toward where we just came from,
04:31meaning it's time for us to move,
04:32or the dog could track our scent,
04:34and then subsequently alert the guards.
04:57So just like in the original demo,
04:59the truck has been targeted.
05:00whether you want to use the assistance from Grim
05:02is obviously up to you.
05:04Let's not this time around.
05:10Okay, one thing I can show you
05:12due to our pacing this time around
05:14is moving bodies.
05:15The non-lethal animations weren't yet added to the build,
05:18which is why we had to kill that guy.
05:20Let's just make sure the coast is clear
05:21before we hide the evidence.
05:28All right,
05:29that was close.
05:29Let's get this guy outside.
05:38All right,
05:39here should do,
05:39and because they're doing patrols,
05:41let's just go ahead and close this door
05:43to cover our tracks.
05:47So instead of going into a firefight,
05:49perhaps using some
05:51blind fire,
05:52let's once again find another way around.
05:54Now, you may not have seen it at first,
05:56but a little exploration goes a long way.
05:58That's the truck right there,
05:59and by this point,
06:00that fire for effect window
06:01for Kinect or your controller
06:03will be long gone,
06:04even if the truck remains.
06:06All right,
06:06so onwards and upwards.
06:07We've still got to get to Jadid's hideout.
06:21All right,
06:21now that we're on the roof
06:22and in a pretty safe spot,
06:23let's look at the casualties once again.
06:25In the original demo,
06:2612 enemies were killed,
06:28while two got zapped
06:29by the sticky shocker in the water.
06:30In this ghost playthrough,
06:32we killed one bad guy
06:33simply for the sake of showing you moving
06:34and more importantly,
06:35hiding bodies.
06:37There wasn't any of that
06:38at E3 or Gamescom.
06:39The original demo,
06:40we showed off the airstrike.
06:41This time around,
06:42we decided to let Grim
06:43just sweat it out.
06:45like a lot of the other things
06:46you've seen here,
06:47the goggles are still a work in progress,
06:49still being tweaked,
06:50but you at least get to see
06:51how the pulses work for now.
06:53Let's rappel down and say hello,
06:54shall we?
07:01We hope you've enjoyed
07:02this alternate take
07:03and the demo you've already seen.
