00:00In questo video, I'll show the changes for Evergrowth Alpha 200,
00:03which you can try if you've preordered.
00:06I started by adding a passive block to sword fights
00:09to make duels last a bit longer.
00:11You have a small amount of defense
00:12just by having your sword up in front of you.
00:15This passive block gets worn down quickly,
00:17and you can still get cut or disarmed,
00:19but it makes a big difference in how the duels look and feel.
00:23There are a few animation tweaks to the swords as well.
00:26Now, if fighters move close together,
00:27they change their stance to adapt to the range.
00:30The small sword slash has new left and right variations
00:34based on movement input to add some variety
00:36and to control the enemy's position.
00:39I started working on a throw animation for the big sword
00:41to put more force into it and give other players more time to react,
00:45since you can now parry thrown weapons with the active block.
00:49The arena mode now saves your progress after each match,
00:52so if you quit and start up again,
00:54you can resume where you left off.
00:55There's also a grace period of a couple seconds after each round,
00:59so you don't get disqualified if you accidentally hit someone.
01:07I changed the character switch keys to make it easy to test out color variations on new characters.
01:12The 1 key picks a randomly colored guard or raider.
01:15The 2 key chooses one of Aubrey's new rabbit characters.
01:18There's a new male and female rabbit,
01:20which each have 3 texture and morph target variations.
01:23The 3 key is still mapped to turner,
01:26and 4 is mapped to the civilian.
01:28The windowing and input systems now use the new SDL2 library,
01:31which should generally work better,
01:33and in particular,
01:34improve support for some window features on Mac and Linux,
01:36like live view resizing.
01:38I also changed the camera to handle extreme aspect ratios,
01:41so it will work better with portrait or triple monitor setups.
01:55Some users were requesting blood options,
01:57so you can now change the blood color if you want,
01:59or disable dripping or disable blood completely.
02:03That's it for this video.
