00:40In this video, I'll demonstrate Overgrowth 1.0
00:45There's a lot to talk about, like the new story
00:47following Turner as he fights to free rabbits from slavery
00:58or the built-in modding tools that you can access at any time
01:02to change existing levels, add new features, or even make total conversions
01:07But I'd like to focus on combat
01:09because it's the heart of the game that everything else is built around
01:13In Overgrowth, we perform strikes by holding down the mouse button
01:16and choose between them based on movement controls
01:18That sounds simple, but that's where the AI comes in
01:22Enemies can predict when you're planning to attack
01:24and could turn it against you
01:26They keep track of your patterns
01:27so if you keep doing the same things, they'll get better at countering them
01:31And that's just the most basic possible scenario
01:34More often there's weapons involved, or multiple characters
01:37or environmental hazards, or all of those at once
01:40Now it might sound too hard
01:42But fortunately, if you're defeated, there's never any kind of loading screen
01:45You can leap right back in and try a new strategy
01:49The whole point of the game is to have fun choreographing intense fight scenes
01:53and using the mouse-slip camera to watch from your favorite angle
