00:30Focus on keeping your palms open, like this
00:35Control your breathing
00:38Breathe in
00:40Breathe out
00:43Now face forward, and when the countdown hits zero, swiftly throw your hands directly out in front of you
00:523, 2, 1, directly
00:55Good, one more time
00:59Directly
01:00Feel the power in your fingertips
01:03Directly
01:06Okay, that was some really nice work
01:10Our bodies are sufficiently ready
01:12My work here is done
01:14Take it away, Mr. Iwata
01:20Once again, hello everyone
01:22This is Satoru Iwata from Nintendo
01:26Today, we will provide information to you directly about Wii Fit U
01:31The Wii Fit series uses the Wii Balance board accessory to help train users in a fun, game-like setting
01:40The idea is to promote general well-being by improving balance and strength
01:46While encouraging healthy lifestyle choices by supplying graphs and tracking changes in weight and BMI
01:54In addition to new dance workouts, the new Wii Fit U software includes 19 new training activities
02:02Many taking advantage of the Wii U gamepad for a total of 77 different activities
02:10And some of you may have noticed, the trainer is sporting a slightly new look
02:16Her hairstyle has changed for a more athletic look
02:20I hope her newfound sense of style inspires you to achieve a more active lifestyle
02:28Are you ready to try it yourself?
02:31Are you ready to try it yourself?
02:31Let's do it together
02:33In Wii Fit U, with this Fit Meter, you can now check the estimated number of calories you burned while
02:41you were on the go
02:42The Fit Meter is not a T-Do Meter
02:46It's actually an Activity Meter that uses a 3-axis accelola meter to calculate not only the number of steps
02:54you have taken, but also your intensity during exercise
02:59It also includes a pressure sensor, so it can measure changes in altitude
03:05This makes it possible to calculate the number of calories you burned more accurately during certain activities like climbing up
03:14and down stairs
03:15Which can be difficult for most activity meters to measure
03:21Because the Fit Meter is attached at the hip, it helps to decrease the measurement error
03:26Caused by arm movement in more common activity meters, which are worn on the wrist
03:34And on the Fit Meter screen, you get more than just a simple calorie counter
03:39You can display the number of steps you've taken, how many calories you wish to burn
03:45And elevation changes experience since leaving your house, time, temperature, and for that day, changes per minute in exercise intensity
03:58measured in METS
04:00Along with an elevation graph
04:03All this comes in addition to being able to record and graph roughly one month of calories burned with the
04:12Fit Meter
04:13This data can be transferred to your Wii U system via the iOutport on the Wii U gamepad
04:20The Wii Fit U software can then be used to monitor graphs that go into far more detail than merely
04:29displaying how many calories you've burned
04:34Now, I would like to show you how one of our employees spent his day using actual data from his
04:43Fit Meter
04:45The line graph shows changes in altitude, and the bar graph shows the energy cost of physical activities, which is
04:54measured in METS
04:55Different colors on the bar graph indicate what activities were performed at the time, such as running, walking, climbing up,
05:06and climbing down
05:09On this particular day, our employee hiked up a small mountain close by work to test out the Fit Meter
05:18Now, let's track his activity as we follow along with the timeline
05:24Right around 9 o'clock, we can see that he set off on foot for Mt. Inari
05:32It's located a little over a mile away from the office, nearby the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto
05:42As such, you can see a lot of blue in the bar graph here at the beginning, which indicates that
05:49he was walking
05:51But then, it immediately turns red, and red means running
05:56When I asked him why he started to pick up the pace here
06:01Well, he said he had to cross a road that a lot of cars passed through
06:08And since the crossing signal looked like it was going to change, he had to pick up the pace
06:15Naturally, the bar graph is also taller here because his exercise intensity went up when he began to run
06:25Finally, it looks like he reached Fushimi Inari Shrine right here, where the blue graph ends
06:32Looks like it took him about 20 minutes, doesn't it?
06:38After that, we see some big changes, namely in line graph which shows elevation change
06:44And in the bar graph has turned orange which shows exercise intensity
06:50Orange indicates climbing, so we can safely assume he started climbing up the mountain at this point
06:57The bar graph is pretty tall through this climbing section, which means his uphill barrel caused an increase in exercise
07:07intensity
07:09Luckily for our employee, we can see that he arrived safely at the peak around 10 o'clock
07:18Judging by his stabilized elevation and the blue graph, which suggests a lack of activity, you can tell
07:26He must have hung around at the peak for a while to take in the view
07:32The game's producer did say to give him a call when he reached the top, so that probably explains it
07:41He also gave him orders to take a picture at Mount Inari's peak to prove he was there
07:49You are looking at the photo he took right now
07:53He likely started back down the mountain after hanging up the phone
07:58The green bar graph here shows him climbing down
08:03As you can see, it's pretty clear how much exercise intensity differs when going downhill as opposed to going up
08:13Obviously, you don't have to climb a mountain to use the FitMeter
08:18We did so to illustrate a point, but the FitMeter can capture data like we've seen today
08:25And calculate the number of calories burned or any kind of activity
08:30Even everyday ones like climbing up and down stairs or walking up a hill on the way to work
08:39Moving along, it seems like the producer told our fearless employee to stop by one more place
08:47It looks here like he is headed for his next objective
08:53It was pretty far away, so he used a bus
08:57So of course, he is not walking
08:59That explains the low exercise intensity
09:03As you may have noticed, the graph will not calculate for walking or running when you are travelling in a
09:11car
09:11Even if it's for a long distance
09:15At this point, we see a big change in the graph
09:19I think he must have arrived
09:22If you look closely, you can see only a change in the line graph representing elevation
09:28The bar graph expressing exercise intensity shows almost no change at all
09:35As it turns out, he was headed to Kyoto Tower, the tallest building in the city
09:42The elevator ride up resulted in a big elevation change
09:47But almost no exercise intensity to speak up
09:51It makes sense, he didn't use the stairs after all
09:55So even when there is a major change in elevation, but not much in physical activity
10:02It won't result in drastic change to the bar graph
10:06As was the case in this elevator
10:10This demonstrates the precision that's possible in measuring calories burned with the FitMed
10:18It seems he took one last picture
10:21And look, you can see, Nintendo's headquarters
10:27Our faithful employee is probably pretty tired after all that moving around
10:33Nothing a relaxing day of desk work at the office can't fix
10:40As we previously mentioned, the FitMed can give you a great picture of your daily activity
10:47In terms of exercise intensity as well as elevation change
10:51You can transfer this graph data to your Wii U
10:55And store up to 50 days worth at the time
10:59I've found that I often look back at old graphs to check things like exercise intensity and elevation change
11:08Sometimes I end up remembering what I was doing on a particular day
11:13So this data may be useful for more reasons than merely keeping you active
11:21Keep in mind that if the number of calories you burnt falls short of your daily goal
11:28Wii Fit U has a built-in feature that recommends training options to make up for the calories you are
11:36unable to burn
11:37With this feature, you can combine your daily activity out of the house with training at home using Wii Fit
11:46U for well-rounded fitness support
11:50There's also a separate mode that displays your steps taken or altitude in relation to the jogging courses of famous
11:59cities or actual mountain trails
12:02Your FitMailer collects this data while you are out
12:06So as you can see here, the goal is to accumulate steps every day
12:11Maybe even enough to climb up huge mountains like Mount Everest
12:17The FitMailer will be released on November 1st
12:22And make sure to take advantage of the game's online functionality
12:27With Miiverse, you can create a gym community with other players that share similar goals
12:33So you can stay motivated to continue working out by encouraging each other
12:39Even if you have a hard time keeping up with your diet and walk out routine on your own
12:46If you can communicate with others via Miiverse while you are walking out
12:52You might be inspired to continue your training
12:57If you create a closed community with only your close friends
13:02You might be able to talk more freely about sensitive issues like detailed weight changes and so on
13:10Issues you might have a hard time sharing openly on Miiverse
13:17This time, we will be offering a 1-month free trial of Wii Fit U for Wii U owners who
13:24already have Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus
13:28In other words, those with a Wii Balance for that home
13:32Already will be able to try out Wii Fit U free of charge for 1 month
13:38You can download Wii Fit U from Nintendo Wii Shop free of charge from November 1st to January 31st of
13:462014
13:49Don't let the world's trial program fool you
13:52What we are distributing is not a demo version
13:56It contains every mode available in the game
14:00However, you can only use it for a month beginning the day you first start up on your system
14:09With this free trial version of Wii Fit U
14:12If you purchase a fit meter and pair it up with your Wii U system
14:18You can continue to enjoy playing Wii Fit U even after your 1-month trial is over
14:24We hope you will try Wii Fit U during this trial period
14:28And if you like it, please consider purchasing a fit meter
14:35There's one point of caution I like to mention when you download Wii Fit U
14:41Due to the large size of the Wii Fit U software
14:44The Wii U basic pack system and other systems which already have a lot of data in storage
14:50May not be able to download and store the software
14:55If your system is short on storage space
14:58Please consider getting an external storage device before downloading
15:04After the free trial period is over
15:07We will replace the one-man free trial version with the normal version in Nintendo eShop
15:13Beginning February 1st of 2014
15:18It will not have a 1-month usage limitation and of course you will be able to continue using the
15:25game without a fit meter
15:29From December 6th, we will offer a unique set for purchase at retail
15:34That includes the normal Wii Fit U disk version software and a fit meter
15:39As well as the set that includes the Wii Fit U disk version, fit meter and the Wii balance board
15:48In summary, if you have a Wii balance board and Wii U system
15:52And if you participate in the 1-month free trial
15:57You can continue using Wii Fit U simply by purchasing a fit meter
16:02Please check the official Nintendo site for more details
16:08While we are on the topic of the Wii balance board
16:11There is another title I would like to mention today
16:15Last February, we released Wii Street U which lets you view 360-degree panoramas of locations all around the world
16:26Through Google Maps by simply pointing your Wii U gamepad in the direction you want to look
16:33We have already updated this software several times since its release
16:37And this time, we have another update for you
16:42This update will enable you to use the balance board while standing right in front of your TV
16:49To walk around in locations all over the world
16:55All you have to do is take steps in place on the balance board to move forward
17:02As you take steps on the balance board, the screen will move up and down
17:06As though you are walking in real life to help immerse you in the scene more than ever
17:13When you want to turn, all you have to do is shift your weight to change direction
17:19The new update adding Wii balance board compatibility to Wii Street U will become available after this presentation is over
17:29Please enjoy taking a walk in cities from all over the world without leaving the comfort of your living room
17:36Wii Street U is available in Nintendo eShop for free until October 31st
17:43If you have not downloaded, please try it at this opportunity
17:49There is one more title I would like to talk about today
17:53What we are looking at right now is Wii Sports
17:57Which has released alongside the Wii hardware in 2006
18:03We have updated all five sports included in Wii Sports
18:07Tennis, bowling, baseball, golf and boxing
18:11And we released them as a download title on Wii U
18:15This title is Wii Sports Club
18:20In the newly enhanced Wii Sports Club, each sport will work exclusively with Wii Motion Plus technology
18:28This will allow for even more refined control than the original for a Wii Sports that feels better than ever
18:37Additionally, we have added an online versus multiplayer mode which we received many requests for from fans
18:45So you can face off against other players even you are home alone
18:53As the name Wii Sports Club suggests, playing this game will feel like joining a local sports club
19:00That's because the online versus mode will have you playing as a registered member of your state or regional club
19:10The game supports simple communication during matches using special integrated Miiverse functionality
19:18You can compete casually with other players in your club
19:22Or face off in serious matches against rival club members
19:27To battle it out over a high position in the club rankings
19:33Once you download the Wii Sports Club software
19:36It will serve as a hub from which you can select various sports to purchase in-game
19:44Wii Sports Club will be available for download on November 7th
19:49As will the option to buy and download the sports, tennis and bowling
19:56There will be two purchase options for Wii Sports Club
20:00The first is called a single sport path
20:04This option lets you purchase each sport as you would any download software
20:14The second is a day pass
20:16A sort of visitor ticket that will give you unlimited access to all available sports for a 24 hour period
20:29Please select the purchase method that works best for you
20:34Keep in mind that we will also be providing a Wii Sports Club trial pass free of charge
20:42This pass will let you try out any of the available sports for a 24 hour period
20:48Beginning when you first start up the game
20:53That's it for today's presentation
20:55Thank you for sticking with us until the end
21:03Here we go
21:04For
21:04To
