17:57Immediately, I felt like there was plenty of space.
17:59It is only a one-bedroom.
18:01So we're definitely going to have to transform that into a two-bedroom, two-bath.

18:07Of course, the good news is the price point.
18:10So the house was listed at $279,000.
18:12We gave an offer of $280,000.
18:13They accepted it.
18:14So that left us $120,000 for our renovation.
18:18That should be more than enough to create an amazing space for ourselves and our family.

26:41switches are going to be and all the outlets are going to be as well so we're going to be
26:45trying to get as much as we can working together i always try to shoot high by the way so
26:53i want
26:53to get all this framing done at the end of the day that'd be great if we could do that
26:57then we
26:57can start with what's the next phase after that uh i'm going to dig into the plumbing uh of course
27:02larry's going to keep on with the electrical to get all that up to par um i'm probably looking at
27:08a day and a half two days of plumbing and then we'll be able to begin the drywall hanging that's
27:13great i'll tell you what if we do that by the end of the week this week we'd probably be

29:56is going to be without hot water until we're able to get this fixed all right well things happen
30:04well i'm glad you took it so well i guess my neighbor upstairs is not going to be very happy
30:09uh her hot water is not working right now well i do have to say though my team was amazing

30:16all the water was flying everywhere they jumped right into action they were able to contain the
30:21water and of course the good news is concrete the floors are so once you worry about the water going
30:27below us so it really could have been a whole lot worse okay well we're going to try to get

30:32bit more done before the time runs out together yeah we got about 30 more minutes yeah we do so

30:37able to get something else what a little excitement oh my goodness man this is crazy
31:01we had a little gusher come out and we got through it and now we're going to the next step

31:05looking to start our drywall and that's really the key we're hoping to have the whole place drywalled
31:10by the end of the day nice so the drywall is going up in the rooms in the kitchen the

31:19the guest bathroom the laundry room is going to be covered as well you got it you like it so
31:25once the
31:26drywall is up just got to finish it tape it off and of course uh get it ready for painting

31:41it's starting to look like a real place now right yeah it is we got a few more pieces of
31:46drywall to
31:47put up uh corner bead and then we'll start some mud work man that is exciting the transformation has
31:53been amazing to see how the project's been kind of unfolding step by step we just can't wait to get

32:11as many lazy students as i've done in my life and yes i have seen offset angles before but never
32:20a 120.
32:22the team is putting in the cabinets but we're definitely running into a problem where our lazy
32:26susan was we thought it was just like an easy measurement we would be able to figure it out
32:31and none of us considered that it was never a 90 degree angle we've also determined that it's just
32:37not going to work but what will work we can go ahead and hang every other cabinet except for the
32:44two
32:45the top and lower lazy susan and custom build the lazy susan so you know terry he's a perfectionist
32:53so he actually had a custom build one it was challenging but it's not a lazy susan we just
32:59decided to put shelves instead it's a lazy shelf and and the angle works perfect it's perfect we got
33:05through it i think we're gonna be just fine
33:18it's super exciting to see the actual cabinets coming together
33:23really we're starting to see the vision come to pass and we're so happy
33:31all right so i went shopping and i got a couple of things yes that we could look at for
33:37the
33:38bathroom so what is this for the shower area yeah so the wall of the bathroom um we just want
33:45to do
33:45a towel i think it's look great so got a couple things it's kind of gray because we're using a
33:52lot
33:52of blues in there i feel like that could go together really well um and then of course this
33:57you know me i love this this is so like clean and shiny um and it's white so i just
34:03i think that this
34:05space is very tight so i think it's important to make it feel big so that's i guess that's really
34:10the
34:10dilemma like do we go with a gray do we go with the white and then you have this one
34:15right here this
34:15tuscan one what do you think more leaning towards the white just because we can use all different
34:21other colors in that room yeah and we won't have to worry about tying it together everything will
34:25match i personally i really do like the white that's going to be the one okay let's do it i
34:31like the fact that it's going to cover more more of the wall faster so it's going to take less
34:35time
34:35to put it all up and we're ready to enjoy this place this has been a lot of work and
34:39we're ready
34:40to start enjoying our space
34:50we went with a really basic bathroom tile it is beautiful but the good news it was in stock and
34:56terry and his team were able to get on it right away
35:00i'm glad we finally came to a decision on our tile i feel like that is one less thing that
35:05we have on
35:05the project i'm really confident the white shiny larger tile it is going to bring that bathroom to
35:12life the bathroom is really small so the last thing we need to do is put dark colors in there
35:21the flooring guys already got started and it's actually the tile we have in the shower we had
35:26looked at different flooring but some of the stuff was kind of busy different colors we have a lot of
35:31other colors already in the room as accents so we decided just to go up here white
35:47we're coming to the home stretch and we're really excited the projects are moving right along
35:53not yet but you wait till you see when i get done i will terry and his guys are working
35:58right now to
35:59paint the ceilings and the walls really nice bright white i chose that color because when we walk in we
36:05just wanted to be bright happy and we just want to feel so much light coming in
36:10in the bathroom we're really excited because we have a very long drain when we were on vacation we
36:19actually saw a really modern shower and we were like we definitely have to do it this way so we're
36:24really excited about trying something new the bathroom is going to look gorgeous we went with
36:29a bamboo paper there's palm trees on it because i want to feel like i'm on vacation so we're going
36:35for it the countertops the design is gorgeous but kind of has a marble look on it it really really
36:43is
36:43coming out great it has been such an amazing process a lot of challenges but man we're here we're
36:49coming to the end and we're super excited we're putting together all the last minute just little
37:04things before we have all our friends and family come over to enjoy the place we want it to look

37:10the initial vision that we had really did come to life in fact i believe that we surpassed it when

37:16changed a couple of the walls it really took our vision to the next level so this project didn't
37:22go without some issues and some challenges uh we hit a water line at one point and water just was
37:27flying
37:28everywhere and kind of slowed the project down just a little bit but overall we got through it and here

40:36looks so beautiful it's like luxury little retreat yeah that's so nice that's really what we're looking
40:42for i think we kind of nailed it didn't we i'm so happy for you guys and for us and
40:48for us and i can
40:48only imagine how much work this was honestly but you can tell it wasn't worth it i'm just blown away
40:54and i'm just so excited to spend time here well right now we're having a party folks are coming in

41:31yeah so at the beginning of the project we estimated about a sixty thousand dollar budget
41:36to do the whole renovation well the good news was by the time all the dust settled and all the
41:42work was
41:42done we came in at fifty thousand dollars so we saved ten thousand dollars on this project one of the
41:48ways that we were able to save many is one we don't buy anything full price so we're always looking
41:53for a deal but the real reason is because we had friends come alongside us to help us do this
41:58project
41:58so this is the view i mean i love the downtown view wow if you look right there look what
42:04you see
42:04you feel that breeze coming off the water there it doesn't get much better than that it's a great
42:10choice carlos yeah you did good yeah thanks this has been an amazing journey i want to thank all you
42:16guys for being part of it as well because we also did it for all of us to enjoy together
