00:29Hi, I'm Russ.
00:29I'm the lead developer of Terratech.
00:31It's a procedural physics-based game about exploring an alien planet and mining resources
00:38and blowing stuff up.
00:39We've had really, really great feedback from all the people we've shown it to.
00:42I'm really looking forward to getting the game out there.
00:44It's a world that constantly changes and that makes it very challenging to design for,
00:48but also makes it really good fun.
00:50Part of my job as producer is to gather all the great ideas we're getting from everyone
00:54and get as many of them as possible into the full game.
00:58In Terratech, you're an off-world miner sent to another planet to gather up all their resources
01:02and send them back home to get paid.
01:04But you're not the only one there.
01:06There's other prospectors in the environment and you're going to have to battle it out with
01:09those guys to get the best stuff.
01:11What we're trying to do is create a world that's full of different kinds of challenges
01:15and leave it up to the player to work out how to engage with them.
01:19The alien planet is procedurally generated with lots of different environments,
01:22each of which has its own dangers and unique rewards.
01:25So each time you play, you're going to get a new experience.
01:28As you progress through the game, you unlock different sets of blocks,
01:32each provided by different in-game corporations with their own unique styles.
01:36For example, Venture have lots of fast, small, light pieces that are great for building scouting vehicles
01:42and Geocorp have heavy industrial mining equipment which is really good for resource gathering.
01:48The game has a lot of vehicle combat, but as you progress, it will in fact start to become more
01:53strategic
01:53as you build out a large base and control an entire fleet of units specialized for different purposes.
01:59Occasionally whilst exploring the environment, you'll find scripted encounters that will change up the pace of play.
02:04For example, you might find a canyon where you're challenged to fly across it
02:08and you're only given a small selection of blocks to work with.
02:11Or you might find an NPC who challenges you to race around their track
02:14and you have to build the fastest car that you can.
02:17The single-player experience is already a ton of fun
02:20and we're seeing people having a great time with our free demo.
02:23But of course, one of the most anticipated upcoming features is multiplayer
02:26and that's no small amount of work
02:28and that's one reason why we're coming to Kickstarter now for additional funding.
02:31We really want to develop this game in collaboration with our backers.
02:36We're getting great ideas from people already
02:38so we've decided to put in features to allow people to share up vehicles
02:43with one another and with us.
02:44And the very best of those designs, they're surprising us, they're exciting us,
02:48they're going to make it into the final game.
02:50Every weekday at 5pm UK time, we stream on Twitch TV.
02:55Come along and check it out.
02:56For everyone who backs us for beta access,
03:00they'll receive regular builds all the way up to when we release on Steam.
03:03We'll also have the option to get exclusive access to our forum.
03:09We've put a lot of work into Terratech
03:10and we still have a lot more to do to get the game finished,
03:13including some big features like multiplayer,
03:15finishing off the whole of the single-player progression
03:17and we have a load more corporations to put in the game.
03:20We really want to make this game as good as it can be for you
03:22and for that, we're going to need your support.
03:25Thank you very much for watching.
03:27If you like the look of Terratech, please back us.
03:29If you want to check out our free demo,
03:31it's available from our website right now.
03:34Thank you.
