00:04Bad boys!
00:05Stop doing grabs!
00:07We're good. We're good. I love you guys.
00:10Sheppard Jones don't come for you.
00:12You're sitting on a throne of lies and she's wearing a crown of deceit.
00:15Hey! Bad boys!
00:16Bad boys!
00:16Whatcha gonna do?
00:17I hate drugs.
00:19You hate drugs?
00:19Yes, sir.
00:20Bad boys! Bad boys!
00:22Whatcha gonna do?
00:23Get on the grab! Get on the grab!
00:26Cops is filmed on location with the men and women of law enforcement.
00:30All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
00:36So I've been with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office for eight years.
00:39Before that, I was in the military.
00:41Easy transition coming from the military to law enforcement.
00:44Fell in love with how street crimes operates.
00:46And so that was my goal as soon as I got here, learning the street crimes ways.
00:51I've been happy ever since.
00:54So we got a vehicle, a suspicious vehicle that's at the gas station up here.
00:58It's linked to a diesel theft.
01:00They fled from units earlier, actively being watched right now, pumping fuel.
01:05So we're gonna try to run in here and try to grab them.
01:09Fuck yeah!
01:26Hey!
01:28I was hunting!
01:29I was hunting!
01:29I was hunting!
01:30I was hunting!
01:31I was hunting!
01:32My boy!
01:34Hey, watch the car!
01:35Watch the car!
01:36Yeah, yeah.
01:38I was hunting!
01:38I was hunting!
01:39Whoa!
01:39Whoa!
01:40Go!
01:44All right, if you're not 97, slow it down.
01:46We've got everybody at 1015 right now.
01:50Yeah, yeah, yeah, you good?
01:52Bar's cleared. Bar's cleared.
01:58Good?
01:59Yep.
02:00All right. Hop up.
02:03Stand up.
02:04Stand up.
02:06Good job.
02:08Hey, stand up.
02:10All right? Stand up.
02:12Stop being stupid.
02:14Hey, that's not what I want.
02:15Calm down.
02:16Let's see.
02:16Wallet.
02:19All right, we got it.
02:21Stop.
02:23Yeah, bar's cleared.
02:25Does he speak English?
02:27Habla ingles or no?
02:29Do you use Spanish?
02:30No.
02:31¿Qué pasó? ¿Qué estás haciendo?
02:32Tengo falta aire.
02:33¿Falta dónde? ¿Aire?
02:36Pero cálmate.
02:36Uh-huh.
02:37He's saying he can't breathe, but...
02:40¿Dónde? ¿Qué pasó?
02:42Stand up.
02:43Stand up, then.
02:44Tengo falta aire.
02:45Uh, so we got the two 1015s.
02:48They tried to get away from us reverse.
02:50We ended up pinning the car.
02:52Guy tries to hop out the passenger seat where he was got.
02:55And their lookout in this vehicle was also approached by us and arrested.
02:59You need help with anything or are you good?
03:00I'm good, thanks.
03:01Okay.
03:02So I saw first vehicle description, white Suzuki, black rim on the back of it, possibly going
03:08north on 301 at this point from the previous gas station that they were committing a theft
03:12from.
03:13Um, as I was going west here on Bloomingdale, ended up scanning for the vehicle.
03:18Here are these two close by gas stations.
03:21As I looked into the parking lot, I could see the white Suzuki right there over the pumps,
03:27match the description of the vehicle that they gave.
03:29So I told the UCs, hey, confirm that tag.
03:31They got in here, confirmed it.
03:32And it was, in fact, the same vehicle that was just committing the diesel test down south.
03:36Yeah.
03:36Okay.
03:37You came in at what point?
03:39So I was on Bloomingdale staging until we had enough units.
03:42And then I think you're the one that pulled behind me, right, in the unmarked?
03:45And then when Clarity said they were fixing the leave, that's when they decided to move
03:49in.
03:50So since I was on the marked car, I went up front, turned my lights on.
03:54You could see there was something underneath the car, like it was still actively pumping.
03:58Okay.
03:59And as soon as I turned my lights on, he kicked it in reverse and then ended up back there.
04:04I think that's when Prado came in and tried to stop, tried to get behind it.
04:08But he pulled out in front of him and Jay turned and he was able to stop the vehicle that
04:12way.
04:12Yeah.
04:13He immediately threw it in reverse, aggressively flying in reverse.
04:16He nicked my front bumper as I was trying to get that rear block.
04:19He went over the curb, took out the stop sign.
04:22And then that's when Prado ended up making him contact with here.
04:24That was a good call.
04:28So basically, these guys were parked over the pumps, taking gas out of the ground.
04:32They have the vehicles rigged to suck fuel out of the ground and into these massive tanks.
04:37And then they usually work in pairs.
04:39So they usually have a car that's on the lookout for law enforcement.
04:42And then the other car just parks there and takes as much fuel as they can.
04:45Last week, they were doing the same thing down in Apollo Beach area where they got 385 gallons.
04:51Okay.
04:52What you can do with this is you estimate that looks like 50-gallon containers at least.
04:57So you got at least either that or 100 gallons.
05:00You probably have 200 gallons.
05:00They look like the semi-truck fuel tanks.
05:03I don't know if that's 50 or even more, but that's at least 100 gallons of fuel right there.
05:10All right.
05:11Hey, I got a question.
05:13Just quick questions.
05:13Thanks.
05:14Um, what were you doing tonight?
05:27I couldn't hear you.
05:28I'm sorry.
05:37I couldn't hear you.
05:40I'm sorry.
05:54What's he say?
05:55He's saying that, you know, he's here from Cuba, and he's trying to make extra money, and he's got some
06:01debts that need to be paid.
06:02And so he's committing the diesel theft
06:05so that he can make the extra money to pay his debts,
06:09trying to help his family.
06:11OK.
06:23He's saying that none of the stuff that he has,
06:25his possessions here, are his.
06:28I guess whoever he's selling it to is providing everything.
06:31So that's why I may be obligated to do the work for him
06:35because he has nothing.
06:36At that point, we got the two counts of aggravated assault
06:40on law enforcement.
06:41We got the resist without, the fleeing to elude,
06:46the possession of the unlawful fuel bladder,
06:49and then the couple other ones that are pending right now.
06:52All right, just let him know that he's going to go to Hotel ORJ,
06:55and we're going to go from there.
06:57Right now, my assignment is a detective
06:59with the gang suppression unit.
07:01So far, it's one of the best assignments I've had in my entire career
07:04as a law enforcement officer.
07:06Right now, in my spare time, I actually like to golf a lot.
07:09I golf probably once or twice a week.
07:11I have a buddy on the agency who's been golfing a little bit longer than me,
07:14but he's feeling the pressure that I'm going to be a little better.
07:16So we got some intel that a subject that's known to sell narcotics
07:21and sell firearms is in the area of a local shoe store.
07:26So we're blocking the car in and just waiting for this subject to get out.
07:29We want to make sure that he doesn't get into the car,
07:30because he likes to flee.
07:33So, I'm going to wait out here.
07:36Copy, switching to the main.
07:47There he is.
07:48Red hat, red hat.
07:51Drop the boxes.
07:52I got his other hand.
07:56Wasn't going to need two cups.
07:59You're still on PRCS, correct?
08:01All right.
08:02Don't be weird like last time, man.
08:04I got green.
08:04I know.
08:05You did that last time, and you had like a quarter pound of dope on you.
08:08You got any firearms in the car?
08:09No, I don't have cars.
08:11No, you don't?
08:11No.
08:12That's weird.
08:12What about that key of Rio?
08:13That's not mine.
08:14I didn't get out with him down the street.
08:15Let me see.
08:16Get off the keys for me.
08:17I have my stomach.
08:18All right.
08:19Get off the keys.
08:20My stomach's hurting, Jake.
08:21It's all right.
08:21I got you.
08:21He's doing the same thing.
08:22We know you again, OK?
08:25Watch out.
08:25Stop.
08:27He's doing the same thing.
08:28Ow, ow, ow, ow.
08:29He's got something on him.
08:30I got nothing on you.
08:31I got nothing on me.
08:32Go ahead, search.
08:33Grab that bandana under his hood.
08:37I have nothing on me.
08:38I don't know.
08:39You can spend like six hours a day.
08:40You never mind.
08:42I got the other side.
08:43Oh, God, you guys.
08:44I know.
08:44I still have a problem, OK?
08:45OK.
08:47Don't.
08:47Don't.
08:48I'll grab that when you...
08:50Move your foot.
08:51Pat, stop doing that.
08:52Come on, let's go.
08:53Let's go.
08:53Let's do it, man.
08:54All right, I got you.
08:55Come on.
08:56Let's go.
08:57I got it.
08:58All right.
08:59Let's move to the left right here.
09:01Let's move to the left, Pat.
09:03He's got a history of hiding,
09:04concealing a lot of stuff.
09:05He likes to do it underneath his stomach.
09:06The last time, unfortunately,
09:07he did it underneath his testicles
09:09and had about a quarter pound of methamphetamine.
09:12This time, he's got a lot of cash.
09:13He was walking just fine when he left the dollar store.
09:15But upon seeing us, all of a sudden,
09:16he's having a medical condition.
09:18Don't.
09:18Don't fall over.
09:19I don't know if I can catch you.
09:20It's only one of me.
09:21I'll make you stand up.
09:22I told you.
09:22That's why I came out of the store.
09:23I was like dizzy, man.
09:24No, you came out of the store perfectly fine.
09:26I came out of the store dizzy.
09:27OK, cool.
09:28So we're going to get you into the car,
09:30and you can relax and sit down, OK?
09:32Don't start all that.
09:33We'll put a second cuff on it.
09:34Don't.
09:35Don't.
09:35I'm telling you, if I'm walking just from the start of here,
09:38I don't feel good, eh?
09:39All right, we're going to have you sit down, eh?
09:41Come on, Pat.
09:41Let's get you in the car.
09:42Who else will left the dog in your car?
09:44All right.
09:45That's not my car.
09:46All right.
09:46Dog's going to the pound.
09:47I'm not going to double test on the floor, but you have to.
09:50Hey, let me.
09:51I'm going to throw gloves on and just, hey,
09:54I'm going to reach underneath you.
09:55You can search me.
09:56I don't got nothing down yet.
09:58OK.
09:58Just like last time, you don't have anything out of it?
10:01Yeah.
10:03You're right.
10:04You're right, and there's nothing.
10:06Why don't you have it?
10:08Ow, ow, ow.
10:09What are you doing?
10:09Stop, Pat.
10:10Go ahead, go ahead.
10:10Do you steal some stuff?
10:11No.
10:12That's how you just carry stuff?
10:13In your channel?
10:14Yeah, yeah.
10:15Have a seat.
10:15Pat, get in the car.
10:16Pat, get in the car.
10:16Pat, get in the car.
10:17I'm feeling good, eh.
10:18Huh?
10:18I don't feel good.
10:19Yeah, OK.
10:20You'll feel better in the AC.
10:21Get in the car, Pat.
10:22I'm going to throw it.
10:23Let's go, Pat.
10:24You've been relatively decent compared
10:27to the last couple of times.
10:28All right?
10:29Just sit in the car.
10:32Pat, let's go, bro.
10:33Let's go sit down, bro.
10:34I don't feel bad.
10:35I thought we'd throw it.
10:35I thought we'd throw it.
10:36All right, just sit inside real quick.
10:40Do we have these car keys?
10:42Cool.
10:43All right, so Pat is currently detained.
10:46We located his car, so now we're starting
10:48to search his vehicle.
10:50On him, he had a mess pipe in his pocket.
10:52And he had one in the door pocket.
10:53Yeah, the behavior you see with him
10:55is pretty consistent with whenever he gets contacted
10:57by law enforcement.
10:58He starts claiming medical issues and starts falling out.
11:02We got a little puppy right here.
11:05He said it wasn't his car.
11:06We got the keys that unlocked it.
11:08The keys were on him around his neck, so.
11:10There you go.
11:11So we located the Glock.
11:13If I'm not mistaken, Pat is a prohibited person.
11:15Multiple times over.
11:17Where was that at?
11:19That was in a little fanny pack in the backseat.
11:22A little Gucci cross bag.
11:24Pat's got a lot of history selling methamphetamine.
11:27He's habitually armed when he does so.
11:29The last time he tried to avoid being detained
11:31by defecating all over himself.
11:34So each one of these is about an ounce of meth.
11:36It's all packaged for sale.
11:38And obviously, he's protecting his investment
11:40with the firearm here as well.
11:44All right, Pat.
11:44What's going on, man?
11:46Yeah, it comes and goes, you think.
11:48Yeah.
11:49All right.
11:49Yeah, I know.
11:50Sometimes you fake it.
11:51Fake it to make it.
11:52You try to get out of contacting us with that.
11:55It's usually because when you guys rush up on me,
11:57it just gives me so intense.
11:59I swear I had a bad seizure.
12:01All right.
12:01All right, I hear you.
12:02Well, I'm glad you're feeling a little better.
12:03You are going to go off to Santa Rita, all right?
12:06To the jail.
12:07OK.
12:07All right, man.
12:08You got to stop hiding stuff under your sack.
12:11What's the deal with that?
12:13You don't think people go there and check it, huh?
12:15No, yeah, yeah.
12:16Huh?
12:18Is that why you think nobody's going to stick
12:20their hands down there and check it?
12:21Mostly just for robbery.
12:22Robbery?
12:23Yeah, people get robbed a lot, you know?
12:25Do you think somebody's going to rob you of a bottle of oil?
12:27No.
12:28And hide it under your sack?
12:29I stuck that in my side right here,
12:32because I had to turn stuff in my hands.
12:33All right.
12:34You know they have bags for that.
12:35Yeah, .
12:36I didn't even think about asking for one.
12:37Yeah, if you go through the cash register,
12:38they'll give you a bag.
12:39Yeah, I know, but like I said,
12:40I haven't been feeling good this morning.
12:41I've been, after I have a seizure, I fell off.
12:44Hey, so you had a good amount of dope in your car.
12:47And you had some scales in that firearm, right?
12:51Uh, I know you tried to hide the keys from me
12:53when I was trying to grab them.
12:55I know that's your car.
12:57Um, what's up with it, man?
12:58You still out here pushing dope?
13:00No.
13:00All right.
13:01You got to be cool with that, man.
13:02That stuff's dangerous, hurting a lot of people out here.
13:04Yeah, it is.
13:04You know?
13:05Especially meth right now.
13:06A lot of people are getting hooked on that and fentanyl real bad.
13:09All right, we're going to take your dope,
13:10we're going to take your gun and some of your money,
13:13and you're going to go to jail right now, all right?
13:15Yeah.
13:16All right, cool.
13:18Been on patrol going on four years.
13:21I had a little hiatus break where I was a narcotics investigator,
13:26which was really fun.
13:29It was kind of an educational experience to me,
13:32because I got to learn how to investigate things
13:34at a little deeper level and how to talk to people
13:36during an investigation.
13:38So I ran this tag on this vehicle in front of us,
13:43and it's saying that the registered owner
13:45has a suspended driver's license.
13:48So we're going to get out with him and try to figure out
13:50why he's driving on the suspended driver's license.
14:00How you doing, sir?
14:02What's up?
14:02Deputy Magid with the sheriff's office.
14:03You got your driver's license on you?
14:05Sir 367-02.
14:06Any guns, knives, weapons in the car?
14:07Yes, sir.
14:08Okay.
14:08Anything else get you in trouble, big guy?
14:10Yes, sir.
14:10There is?
14:11There is.
14:12What's in the car that could get you in trouble, man?
14:14All right, don't reach for nothing.
14:16What's in the car that could get you in trouble?
14:17An open container.
14:18Okay.
14:19What about that pipe right there in the middle, man?
14:21That too.
14:21Okay.
14:21Do me a favor, because I don't want to waste your gas.
14:23Go ahead and shut your car off.
14:25Put your wallet and glasses on the dash, okay?
14:29Is that the only two things that I need to be concerned about?
14:32All right, go ahead and step out for me, okay?
14:35When you get out, just face the vehicle for me, all right?
14:38Yes, sir.
14:38Any guns, knives, weapons on you?
14:39No, sir.
14:40Anything on you sharp that could get you in trouble?
14:42No, sir.
14:42All right.
14:43Just put your hands on the hood.
14:44Now, do me a favor, okay?
14:45I don't know you.
14:46Yes, sir.
14:47While I'm searching your pockets, do not reach off that hood or mean you're going
14:50to have some problems, okay?
14:51I understand.
14:52Okay.
14:54So, I'm going to tell you why I pulled you over, okay, buddy?
14:57I ran your tag.
14:57Oh, we're done, sir.
14:58You are the registered owner, correct?
15:00Yes, sir.
15:00So, your driver's license is suspended.
15:02Why?
15:02I'm going to explain.
15:03I'll speak on it to you in just a minute, okay?
15:05I don't know why it's suspended yet, but we'll try to investigate that a little further
15:09to figure that out, okay?
15:13Earbuds.
15:14Okay.
15:14That's fine.
15:15Just remain where you are.
15:16Don't move, okay?
15:17Like I said, man, I don't know you.
15:20You don't know me, so.
15:21Absolutely.
15:21I don't want to give you any reason to.
15:24Do me a favor.
15:25Put your hands behind your back.
15:26We'll get another deputy here.
15:27We're going to search your car.
15:28Yes, sir.
15:29Make sure that's all I'm going to find that bong.
15:30Yes, sir, it is.
15:31There's no weed or anything in there?
15:33There is weed.
15:33There is weed?
15:34How much?
15:35Uh, two grams.
15:37All right.
15:37So, we're not talking about a large amount?
15:38No, no, no.
15:38It's personal use.
15:40Okay.
15:40We're going to walk in front of my car and go to the passenger side, okay?
15:43Yes, sir.
15:43All right.
15:43And there's, uh, they call it wax.
15:46It's weed.
15:47It's a concentrated wax?
15:48It's a concentrated, yes, sir.
15:48Now, that may be a problem, man.
15:51Car 346.
15:53Is that the wax that you melt and then inhale it?
15:56Kind of like over one of those candle systems?
15:58Mm-hmm.
15:58I have a vape inside that I use it for.
16:00I feel like you've been very truthful thus far.
16:03You've told me about everything.
16:04So, you're going to find it whether I tell you or not?
16:06Well, I'm going to do a probable call of surgery, right?
16:09Because you already explained to me that there's illegal narcotics in the vehicle.
16:12Today, I'm going to have to take your driver's license, okay?
16:14So, now you know I'm driving on a suspended license, right?
16:21Yeah.
16:22Hey, follow it down.
16:24I already searched.
16:24We're just going to sit you in there for the time being.
16:26All right.
16:27I'm going to get me some gloves on and, uh, check your vehicle.
16:31Here's what looks like where he's going to have his marijuana and his, uh, his THC wax.
16:40So far, that's all I've gotten.
16:43Some tobacco.
16:49Ah, so this is odd.
16:52It's like empty cigarettes where they can pack, I guess, whatever they want in it.
16:58I've never seen that before.
17:00Sounds like too much trouble.
17:05All right, this may be something.
17:08Yeah, that's not good.
17:10What you got?
17:11That's probably not going to be good.
17:13I think that's probably crack or, uh, fentanyl.
17:16Yeah.
17:18We'll have to test that.
17:25Yeah, it's probably crack or fentanyl.
17:29He's down here wrapped up in his shirt.
17:33This is a marijuana grinder.
17:40All right.
17:46I'm going to test that container.
17:48Okay.
17:50Right now, though, I'm just going to test it to see if it's testing positive for
17:56fentanyl, which you can see here.
17:58Fentanyl is an orange color and immediately it turned orange.
18:03So that's going to be positive finding for fentanyl, which is a third degree felony for possession.
18:10All right, so the substance in that little container is fentanyl.
18:17Tested positive for fentanyl.
18:18It did.
18:19That's why I've been sick.
18:20I swear to God, I've been sick for like three or four months now.
18:23I had no...
18:24That's why you got to be careful who you're buying these illegal drugs from on the street,
18:28man, because I'm going to tell you right now, man, first-hand experience in my line of work,
18:32these drug dealers are putting fentanyl on everything because it gets you addicted.
18:35I have been...
18:36I've been sick today.
18:39All right, so here's the deal, man, okay?
18:42We're going to go to jail, okay?
18:43You got to go to jail.
18:44That's a felony charge, okay?
18:46I'm going to secure the vehicle in this pet care parking lot.
18:49The other stuff, the bong, the mason jar...
18:52One question.
18:53Okay.
18:53The grinder.
18:54That was my dad's.
18:55Is there any way that I could keep that?
18:57No.
18:59Listen to me, man.
19:00Look, I understand sentimental value.
19:02I mean, what do you say?
19:05I mean, was your dad into the dope game, too, man?
19:07Did your dad pass?
19:09I mean, I get it.
19:11It was your dad's.
19:12Well, I'm not upset about that.
19:13I have a lot running into my head right now.
19:15I got you.
19:16Well, look...
19:17I feel like the Lord's really looking out for me.
19:18Well, I'm cutting you several breaks, man.
19:20I can tell.
19:20Let me do this.
19:21Let me take the grinder.
19:22Let me turn it into his evidence, and let's get that away from me,
19:24even if it was your dad's, okay?
19:26Because I don't want you having to...
19:28Because that's just going to put you in a pickle down the road.
19:30It is.
19:30It is.
19:30And I've been needed to get off the dope and get clean and all these things.
19:34Okay.
19:35I don't want to speak bad about your father.
19:37I don't know him, so I'm not.
19:38But at some point, we've got to break that chain, okay?
19:41Just hang tight, buddy, okay?
19:42We're going to take a little trip, and I'll see you probably in about 20 minutes.
19:47132 in Bush.
19:48I've got him at gunpoint.
19:49Okay, gunpoint 132 in Bush.
19:52Covers code 3.
19:53Thanks, sir.
19:54The X-2514 can't transmit on tech to it.
