00:01The greatest show on earth is about to begin.
00:07That is outrageous!
00:09And it scores!
00:21Oh dear, oh dear.
00:35That's a howler!
00:40Is this what Scottish football is about?
00:43Delicious!
00:44Oh, what!
00:49Champions!
00:52This has been an absolute barnstormer!
01:01Hello and welcome to A View from the Terrace.
01:04The show that puts Scottish football on a headlock,
01:07wrestles it to the ground and takes all of its lunch money.
01:10My name is Craig Telfer and once again,
01:13it is a pleasure and a privilege to be with you for the next 45 minutes.
01:17It's also a pleasure and a privilege to be joined by these two wacky funsters
01:21from different sides of the tracks.
01:23Up first, he's gangly and grotesque
01:24and he looks like rocking seaweed has raided his stepfather's wardrobe.
01:28It's Robert Borthwick.
01:29Hello, Craig.
01:30And next, this man looks and sounds like a drum kit
01:33being thrown down a stairwell.
01:34Cover your ears, it's Tony Anderson.
01:36Don't shh!
01:38You know guys, it's great to see you.
01:40How are you both doing?
01:41Very well, I am good.
01:42I'm glad to be back with Tony as well.
01:43Yeah, yeah.
01:44We're across the divide, but we're actually very good friends.
01:46Yeah.
01:46Yeah, you work well together.
01:47You work well together.
01:48You work so well together.
01:49In fact, you remind me of the henchmen of a straight-to-DVD movie.
01:54I can imagine you're the tall, thin, cunning one
01:56and you're the squat little buffoonish one,
01:58but you work well together, you know that.
02:00Well, like the wet bandits.
02:02Yeah, I mean, I suppose if you're Harry and Marth,
02:04who does that make me?
02:05Donald Trump.
02:07Enjoy the show.
02:13It has been a giant seven days in Scottish football
02:16and I can't think of a better way to kick off this show
02:19than by looking at the winners and the losers from the past week.
02:23And Robert Borthwick, give me a big winner.
02:26Stu!
02:29Sorry about that.
02:30Claudio Bragg.
02:31Love does strange things to people, right?
02:32You know, you can act erratically, you can do this,
02:35or you can be a man in your fifties,
02:37shouting,
02:37Sue!
02:38When a young Portuguese striker sticks the ball in the back of the net.
02:41Of course, he's copying Cristiano Ronaldo's celebration.
02:43He is indeed.
02:44And, you know, it adds to the sort of magic of Claudio Bragg as well.
02:48He's riding on the crest of a wave and what a sign in these people.
02:50I remember seeing him do it against, was it East Stirling?
02:52Stirling, I'll get it.
02:53East Stirling, I'll be in the League Cup at the start.
02:56And that looked pathetic at the time.
02:58But now when he's running with it, it starts to, like,
03:00charms added to it.
03:01And everyone can get involved.
03:03Oh, 100%.
03:03If I was a hard supporter and I was in the way end at Robert Borthwick,
03:06I'd be shaking my head at the same time,
03:11thought everyone around me knows I disapproved of.
03:14You're not enjoying it, but you're going along with it.
03:15It's one of those things, it looks lame,
03:17and it looks a wee bit lame to talk about.
03:19However, when you're in that moment
03:21and you're seeing one of your favourite players scoring on a consistent basis,
03:24it's hard not to get caught up in it.
03:25100%.
03:26And it kind of leans into what his personality is as well.
03:28He's such a bubbly, effervescent,
03:30as how Derek McKinnon described him the other day.
03:31He just, he doesn't care that people might have a laugh at that
03:34and all that kind of stuff.
03:35He's going to do it anyway because he just likes having a laugh.
03:37He likes having fun on the football pitch.
03:39And long may he continue.
03:40Now, Claudio Braga's a big winner.
03:42Who is the big loser from the weekend feeling?
03:45Brendan Rodgers after an abysmal 2-0 defeat
03:48at, let's frankly, a poor Dundee team.
03:51And he goes for this most unhelpful quote
03:54about having the keys to a Honda Civic.
03:56You can't expect to drive a Ferrari.
03:58We lost a lot of firepower, a lot of goals on the team
04:02and there's no way you'll go into a race
04:07and be given the keys to a Honda Civic
04:09and as you take off, say,
04:12I want you to drive it like a Ferrari.
04:14It's not really happening.
04:15It's such a negative and unhelpful comment.
04:18We had sympathy for him in the summer.
04:20We know that, like, the transfer window was done really poorly
04:24from Celtic, but that's all in the past now.
04:26And now he's making that abundantly clear now.
04:28We're nearly in November telling all the players, basically,
04:31that I don't want you, the squad isn't good enough.
04:33His attitude now seems to be rubbing off on the players.
04:36It's kind of at the stage of, you know, like, the summer happened, mate.
04:38Get over it.
04:39Like, you know, work with what you've got.
04:40And it's what he did so well first time around is he worked with what he had
04:43and he made players better
04:44and Celtic were able to go on this invincible season.
04:46But he just, he feels like he's just completely obsessed with
04:49how it happened in the summer, what happened,
04:51and the players that he's got at his disposal.
04:52He's still signed the majority of them to make them play better.
04:55And have some dignity.
04:57You're in the most financially imbalanced lead on planet Earth
05:00and now you're coming out and running this.
05:02I'm sorry.
05:02He deserves criticism.
05:04There are big winners.
05:05There are big winners.
05:06And then there are Stenhouse Muir manager, Gary Naismith.
05:08He's celebrated his 100th league game in charge of the club
05:12with a very hard-fought 1-0 win over Cove Rangers
05:14and it maintains Stenhouse Muir's excellent start to the season so far.
05:19A lot of jobby stuff.
05:19You are beaming.
05:20You are glowing.
05:21Honestly, you are glowing every time you talk about Stenhouse.
05:23Gary Naismith has completely changed the way I feel about my football club.
05:28You know, in previous years when Stenhouse just weren't winning anything,
05:31we're a bit of a, just a bit of a nothing club.
05:33Is it novelty?
05:34A bit of a novelty.
05:35You know, you would approach games with a bit of an ironic disposition
05:38where, you know, gallows humour when you lost.
05:41Yeah.
05:41You know, when you'd win, it was great, but if you lost,
05:42you'd be like, oh, oh, that's the Warriors.
05:44What are we like?
05:45Pretty much.
05:46See, since he's come in, I think no matter who we play, we could win.
05:49You know, we're playing allo-athletic tomorrow.
05:51Yeah, I think we can go to the rest and beat them.
05:53Get a heart in the Scottish Cup.
05:54Yeah, they're doing all right.
05:55But I'd fancy us to beat them.
05:56Real Madrid in the Champions League.
05:58Yeah, well, you know, if we keep it tight for the first 20 minutes,
06:00I think we've got a chance.
06:01So, thank you, Gary, and here's to the next 100 games.
06:06Rob, big winner.
06:07Blazatic.
06:08And his sculpted body, as we saw.
06:11Wow.
06:11Listen, Aberdeen have had a terrible start to the season,
06:14but this, after their victory against Dundee,
06:16was just such a great moment for their 97th minute in Paisley,
06:20somewhere that they had a devastating loss a couple of years ago
06:22in the last minute.
06:23And what a goal.
06:24What a goal it is to win it.
06:26He pirouettes and makes Scott Tanzer look like an absolute turkey,
06:29and then cuts in, drills it into the back of the net,
06:32and honestly, it's about 0.6 seconds until his top's off.
06:35What makes it so good, as well,
06:36is the fact that the Aberdeen fans are directly behind it.
06:39Yeah.
06:39So you're seeing one of the goals of the season so far,
06:42if not the goal of the season, a phenomenal bit of skill,
06:44great finish.
06:45And to see that happen right in front of you,
06:48oh, you must have lost your mind.
06:49It feels like a massive momentum change.
06:51I mean, because of the 4-0 win against Dundee, that's great.
06:53But if you follow that up with a 0-0, you're not scoring again.
06:57And the fact that they've got this striker who's come in
06:59who's got a big pedigree,
07:00but he's really been struggling for goals for essentially a year.
07:03And for him to come in and score a goal of that level,
07:06for you to win a last minute game,
07:08that feels like a season changer.
07:09Now, a big winner and a big loser from the weekend
07:12was Jason Cummings.
07:13Yes, Jason Cummings won yet another trophy
07:15on his globetrotting tour of weird football encounters
07:18to play in.
07:19The Indian Football Association shield,
07:21and they won it on penalties, Mohan Bagan,
07:24the team that he plays for against East Bengal.
07:26But he did not have a huge impact on the game.
07:29He did.
07:30Well, no, sorry, he did.
07:30He did, because if it wasn't for him,
07:32it wouldn't have gone to penalties.
07:33Well, that's it.
07:34This is just one of the worst penalties you'll ever see.
07:36He then got substituted,
07:37but Mohan Bagan did end up winning the game 5-4 on penalties
07:41and winning the largest trophy I think I've ever seen.
07:44It's like they had to crane it in.
07:46It's twice the size of Jason Cummings.
07:48Yeah, which makes me wonder how tall is Jason Cummings?
07:50Maybe Jason Cummings is really, really tall
07:52in this trophy's normal size.
07:54It's in the Mariahs.
07:55Don't forget it.
07:56What are you doing?
07:57Well, that's it.
07:58You know, there's no trophy cabinet big enough.
08:01They can take this thing.
08:01I can just imagine the manager's got it in his garage.
08:04It's in there, he'll figure out what to do.
08:08Tony, let's go to Fir Park and give me a big winner.
08:11We have Falkirk and John McGlynn.
08:14I have to be honest, this is humble pie for me.
08:18I had huge doubts on Falkirk's ability to go up another level
08:22while still carrying the core of a squad that they basically used
08:25in League One and a part in the Championship.
08:28But by God, they've shut me up.
08:30The going there, they've went against Motherwell,
08:32who are thought of as the sexiest team around,
08:35playing the best football.
08:36It's the fact that it wasn't just a win,
08:38it was a come from behind way.
08:40And it is, like you say, it's the spine of a team
08:42that was in the Championship last season.
08:43Big doubts over guys like Brad Spencer, Calvin Miller.
08:46Can they make the step up?
08:47Aye.
08:48It seems like they very much can.
08:49I think this is a vindication that they are playing football
08:52the right way and a successful way in itself.
08:55And I think that, you know, everyone knows John McGlynn,
08:57a good coach, but can he still manage it at this level?
08:59And he's proven everything.
09:00He doesn't look like the greatest coach ever.
09:01He's taken people from League One all the way up to the top flight
09:04and they're still playing this really, really good brand of football.
09:07I didn't think it was possible.
09:08And it's great to see.
09:10Talking about, like, styles of football, identity.
09:13I think this is a good chance to talk about what we mean by that term.
09:19Identity.
09:20You know, gone are the days now where everyone used to play 4-4-2.
09:23You'd have a big man, little man up top,
09:25may the best team win.
09:27You know, nowadays, every manager wants their team
09:29to reflect their personalities,
09:31play football, quote unquote, the right way.
09:33So let's take a deep dive into tactical identity,
09:37philosophies and talk about how the game has changed
09:40and how we are experiencing it as fans.
09:42And I suppose to start with,
09:44let's look at clubs who do have a very distinct identity.
09:47And Robert Borthwick in the Premiership,
09:49St Mirren is a really good example of that.
09:50I really like St Mirren.
09:51I think it was this season Chris Sutton said he wouldn't pay to watch them.
09:54I would.
09:54The policy of bring me your 11 biggest men
09:58and then putting them on the pitch
09:59and giving them a system to play
10:01and giving them clear directions to get the ball forward.
10:04Aggressive, direct football.
10:06And, you know, there's ball players in there as well.
10:08Mikel Mandron scored a couple of great goals this season.
10:10But the way that he's moulded that all together
10:12in terms of just up and at them,
10:14proper, you know, sort of running through brick walls for the team,
10:17I think it's fun to watch.
10:18It's the surest bet as well for Scottish football.
10:21Bringing that style of team together,
10:23the largest, biggest guys, playing aggressive,
10:25playing on the front foot.
10:27You're not going to have a bad season.
10:28You are going to do well if you play like that.
10:30And Motherwell are another team who have got a very clear identity,
10:34but it's an identity that's got plenty of positives,
10:36but it's also got plenty of negatives as well.
10:39These seem to be the obvious choice for this whole episode discussion.
10:42They've got an unknown foreign manager coming over
10:45and he's preaching the high press.
10:47He's preaching the high line at the back.
10:49He wants them to take loads of risk
10:50from playing the ball out into the centre-half,
10:53playing them wide, getting it in,
10:54breaking through the lines and all that jazz.
10:56And normally, we would say, most fans would go,
10:59that is never going to work.
11:01This is stupid.
11:02You're going to get sacked very soon.
11:03But somehow, he has actually managed
11:05to get Stephen O'Donnell, Liam Gordon,
11:08take it in tight areas, turning.
11:09In Motherwell, they aren't just passing the ball around
11:11for the sake of it.
11:12They're getting forward.
11:13They're getting into the last third.
11:14They're creating loads of chances.
11:16A good example was, they raced into a three-goal lead
11:19at the team that's top of the table.
11:20At Tynecastle, they were 3-0 in an hour
11:23and they were playing absolutely scintillating football.
11:25I think you're forgetting what happened
11:27in the last 30 minutes of that game
11:28when, in reality, Hearts probably should have ended up winning.
11:32Such was the collapse of this Motherwell team.
11:34And that's where my issue is with them,
11:35because you can have philosophy.
11:36You need pragmatism as well.
11:38If you're a team in the Scottish Premiership
11:40that's not Celtic and Rangers,
11:41you need to have a bit of both.
11:42They're not showing that whatsoever.
11:43Currently, Stuart Kettlewell has a better win rate than Asgood.
11:47Motherwell are down towards the bottom of the table
11:48and at the end of this weekend,
11:49they could be bottom of the table.
11:50But, we're seeing enough signs though
11:52that this Motherwell team are trending in the right direction.
11:55Once these ideas are fully implemented,
11:57I think Motherwell could really take off.
11:58We're also seeing plenty of signs that it's not working,
12:01because they're not getting the results,
12:02they're losing games regularly,
12:03they're losing leads in games,
12:04and that goal against Celtic,
12:05oh my goodness, you've got a chance to go to Celtic Park
12:08and get a victory.
12:09And they pass it out from the back,
12:10lose it, Celtic score,
12:11and then in the end, they win in the last minute.
12:13So, it's got to be both ways.
12:15The reason that the fans are getting so into it at Motherwell,
12:18these guys are really excited,
12:19they think this is the best football
12:20they've ever seen Motherwell play,
12:21and that's because when you see things working that well,
12:25you start thinking the results will definitely come,
12:28the performances matter,
12:30and I think from Motherwell,
12:31to me, there's absolutely no doubt that it's going to come good.
12:33So, that's a guy in the Titanic saying,
12:35what a band that was, by the way.
12:36Honestly.
12:37It's just, it's not going to work
12:40if you just keep doing the same thing,
12:41because like you say, it is Liam Gordon's and stuff like that,
12:43they will end up making mistakes again.
12:44It's bizarre that they get the passing bit right,
12:47but then the meat and potatoes defensive part
12:49is the bit that Liam Gordon and ours are struggling with.
12:50You know, it's interesting to talk about this idea
12:53of style over substance,
12:54and if we're talking about that,
12:55we really have to talk about Russell Martin,
12:57the former Rangers coach who left a couple of weeks ago.
12:59Poster boy through it.
12:59He is the poster boy through it.
13:00He said that you can't just win,
13:02you have to win a certain way.
13:03And he also said that he couldn't really stand in the sidelines
13:07and watch his team play in a style that he didn't feel connected to.
13:11But like this thing here at this club,
13:13and I hear everyone saying it all the time,
13:15you just have to win.
13:17You also have to have a way to win,
13:19and a way to learn and grow and develop.
13:20You can't just win sustainably, in my opinion.
13:23You can't just win.
13:24You can't say that when you've not even been able to win.
13:26Yes.
13:26And Russell Martin is one of these sort of new style
13:28of sort of young managers who,
13:31they want to enforce their philosophy
13:33and their style above and beyond results.
13:36And it always seems like it's a bit about them.
13:38So they're actually, they're trying to make it,
13:40this is how the best teams play.
13:42So if I play this, stick to my principles,
13:44they'll notice that and I'll get an avenue to go up.
13:46You know, you look at what modern Rangers is,
13:48it was built by Walter Smith, right?
13:50So he, in the 90s, built this nine in a row team
13:52that was fun to watch, great football team.
13:55He then went in 2008 and made a team that was eye bleeding to watch,
13:59but got to UEFA Cup final and was still, you know, wildly successful.
14:02It just has to be, can the fans relate to it?
14:05Are they enjoying what they're seeing?
14:06And can you get a winning team on the pitch?
14:08They've had a couple of pretenders since that have had success,
14:10but maybe not have sustained.
14:11Alex McLeish, Steven Gerrard have been two examples.
14:14But Rangers are trying to modernise too quickly here.
14:17There needs to be a little bit of give and take.
14:19There needs to be an understanding of what it means to be Rangers,
14:21whatever that is.
14:22But there also needs to be winning on the pitch,
14:24because that is really the biggest part of the identity for Rangers
14:26is trophy halls and winning.
14:28But what about Hart and Midlothian and Hibbs?
14:29What are their identities?
14:30Well, I mean, the Hibbs way, quote unquote,
14:33on the pitch is something that I probably think is a bit of a myth.
14:36It's playing, like, 1970s Brazil football
14:39with, like, sort of young players that have all come through.
14:42And that's happened once in my lifetime.
14:43But what a time it was.
14:44I mean, we had, like, the early 2000s,
14:47Derek Riordan, Gary O'Connor, Kevin Thompson.
14:49They all come through.
14:50Scott Brown and Hibbs are absolutely sincerely in,
14:53scoring incredible goals.
14:54Young guys, young strikers, with blonde streaks to their hair,
14:58scoring records against Hart.
14:59Hart's have an identity that is very much based on just win, right?
15:03So the most tweeted thing you'll see from a Hart's fan
15:05for a big game is just win.
15:07And I think that comes through, especially in derby games as well.
15:09So drive, aggressiveness, win your battles,
15:13play with a big man up front.
15:14That is the kind of the Hart's way, if you want to call it like that.
15:17And I think that that's really important to Hart's fans.
15:18It's quite simple what Hart's fans want and crave.
15:21It's finding it and putting that on the pitch is more difficult.
15:23Big question for you.
15:24How important is it that we watch entertaining, exciting football?
15:28I think it's more important to win games.
15:30I think it's more important to put points on the board
15:32or progress in the cup or whatever.
15:34See if Hart's perform incredibly well and lose 2-1.
15:38I'm not talking about that game afterwards.
15:39I'm raging that we've lost.
15:41And I think that's what's most important.
15:42For a team to be consistently winning games,
15:45then you probably end up just playing good football.
15:47That's kind of how those two things work.
15:48But in terms of one-off games,
15:51Hart's passed that team off the pitch.
15:52Who cares if you lose?
15:53You need to win.
15:54For me, the football I want to see,
15:56I want to see fast football.
15:57I want to see direct football.
15:58Not long ball football.
15:59It doesn't necessarily have to be balls lumped up from the defence forward.
16:03Just like fast, aggressive, entertaining, high-tempo football.
16:06You want to play football with purpose.
16:08You don't just want to see people passing it about,
16:11getting their pass completion up between the two centre-halves.
16:13The two worst players in the team being on the ball the entire time.
16:16It is the worst thing.
16:17I don't think the players want to do it.
16:18The fans hate it.
16:19It is the worst thing about modern football.
16:29That strip up there was the original first strip worn in 1975.
16:34We didn't have a club badge at the time.
16:36And so I wrote that with a felt pen.
16:41One guy had an idea.
16:42I started an amateur football side and I took off.
16:44And it snowballed into what it is just now.
16:4750 years later.
16:49It was like you were Kenzie.
16:51Kenzie Junior Football.
16:56My name is John Finlayson.
16:58My name is David Bailey.
17:00John Finlayson and me founded the club in 1975.
17:04We were schoolmates together.
17:06He played football, but he got a bad injury.
17:09That's when Fin decided, well, if I can't play football with him,
17:12let's start a team and see how far we could take it.
17:26The dogs are free lads when you come.
17:28Right.
17:29Oi.
17:30A pound of strip beer.
17:31Here's the Greer's team coming.
17:34Over there he's larger than life because most of the folk ken him.
17:38He still has an affinity with a lot of the people that come in.
17:41A pound.
17:43Is that it?
17:45You have to pick where you were going to have it and have an identity.
17:50And your identity was hill of beef.
17:53There's nothing in the village at that time.
17:55None at all.
17:56I don't think it's even a play part.
17:59The village of the football team, especially in this area.
18:12I'll show you the original, what we inherited.
18:15That's it there.
18:17What we inherited was an open park, completely open,
18:22with a set of goalposts and a wooden hut up here.
18:26We used to have to get the players to walk up and down the park
18:28with a couple of buckets and pick up all the stones
18:30before we could have again.
18:32That's how bad it was.
18:35That was the first stand I built in the 80s.
18:38That was the second stand.
18:39That was my biggest job.
18:41Pitting the roof on.
18:42Built the dugouts.
18:44Basically everything.
18:47Everything that's here.
18:50My dad did a small farm.
18:52I think that's where my building comes from
18:54because we were always building fences and building sheds and everything.
18:57When people come through that a day he goes,
18:59oh this is a nice set up this.
19:00What a fantastic park this is.
19:02He's responsible for that really.
19:14Blonde in.
19:16He's beaten right now.
19:23To the next one.
19:23We hit theers.
19:25He's beaten because he's beaten by him.
19:26There it is, it's already a hit.
19:26When he's beaten by him.
19:28He's beaten by him and he's beaten by him.
19:32My ideal manager is
19:34passionate, loves the game
19:37You're looking for somebody that's committed
19:39Somebody that's got a vision
19:41If you've not got ambition
19:42You're going to get to us
19:43So who did you appoint as the first manager at the club?
19:46Me
19:53The thing about being a manager
19:55never leaves you
19:57I managed to live with Hawthorne Football Club for 40 years
20:01I was in charge for nearly 1,900 games
20:03Finn was the most successful manager
20:06at our levels that we played in
20:08and we won everything, Copiesteimes
20:11The night we won the cup
20:12we couldn't get in that club
20:13it was mobbed
20:14we had to turn people away
20:16The Holy Grail
20:17with junior football
20:18that's what they called it
20:19you come from nothing
20:21obscurity to be in the top team in Scotland
20:22within 15 years
20:24takes a minute to end
20:38What do you like as a fan
20:42after having been to the manager for 40 years?
20:44Terrible
20:45Murder
20:46Castle shouting
20:48Go on Jordan
20:49Go on Jordan
20:50What a lucky son
20:52You can't get the passion out of him
20:54He's really passionate in the game
20:55and
20:57he can't help
20:58what he is doing the game
20:59it's known his nature
21:01I'm me
21:02or I'm the quiet sufferer
21:03I just suffer in silence
21:10That's the original plaque
21:11that got made
21:12Finn was a big one
21:13loyalty
21:14and that's who we're getting
21:16your strength
21:17will be through
21:18your loyalty
21:19The things we've actually achieved
21:21throughout the years
21:23and they're still here
21:26they've made the same goal
21:31they made the team the best as we could
21:36What a good team
21:40You look after a team
21:42and I'll try and build a stadium up to something
21:46It's half
21:48right down the middle
21:50it's my park
21:51and it's his team
21:53So
21:56What a team
22:04Our teams have been on their European adventures this week
22:07as the rest of Scottish football looks on enviously
22:10as fans of the biggest clubs get to jet across the continent
22:13and experience European football
22:16Now for many
22:16that is the whole point of the season
22:19getting to watch your side play in Europe
22:21Winning the chance to travel abroad
22:23see your team get scudded off a side
22:25you've never heard of before
22:27So
22:28I have two seasoned European travellers with me just now
22:32and we are going to dig out the sombreros
22:34dig out the beach balls
22:35and take that metaphorical journey
22:37across the weird and wonderful world
22:39of European aligners
22:41It's something I have never had the chance to experience
22:43I might never get the chance to experience it
22:45so I am living vicariously through you both
22:48what's it like to watch your team in Europe
22:50It's honestly
22:51it feels like
22:51when you're on a European trip
22:52I'm sure Tony will agree
22:53it's kind of like
22:54oh this is what it's all for
22:55like this is what it all kind of leads to
22:57it's like
22:57aye you can win a trophy
22:58and who cares about that
22:59it's like
22:59going to go and see your team abroad
23:01is brilliant
23:02It's great Delvin
23:03you should try it
23:04one day
23:05one day
23:06Gary Naismith
23:07I suppose the trajectory that we are going on
23:09is in a couple of seasons
23:11in a couple of seasons
23:12but listen
23:12let's put the building blocks in place
23:14for a European trip
23:15you know
23:15your team has qualified
23:16they've had a successful season
23:18they're getting the chance to play continental football
23:20the very first thing you're doing
23:21is planning the trip
23:22and like these two Rangers fans did
23:24during this interview
23:25with Ali McCoyst
23:26How?
23:27When Rangers are playing mobile
23:29you end up Madrid
23:30because I get that excited
23:32when we got through
23:33that I decided to go straight on
23:35and book
23:35and you know predictive text
23:37like Ali
23:37so I typed in
23:39A-T-H-L-E
23:40thinking it's athletic club
23:41but it changed it to
23:42athletical
23:44Martin's sleeping
23:45Karen gets up in the morning
23:46and says
23:47guess what Martin
23:48I've booked us to go to Madrid
23:50for the game
23:50and he's like
23:51there's no playing in Madrid
23:53and I'm like
23:54what?
23:55this is the hour
23:56I looked at it on the phone
23:57it is
23:58and then there's tons of Rangers fans
23:59now booking up to the wrong place
24:00just so they get to meet Ali McCoyst
24:03One of the things
24:03I like this as well
24:04you know she's talking about
24:05autocorrect and predictive text
24:07and says
24:07as you well know
24:09I'd like to know
24:10what's Ali McCoyst's
24:11autocorrect mishap
24:12What's she got on him?
24:14Ali McCoyst trembling
24:15and holding the microphone
24:17and doing something horrendous
24:18is just about to be revealed
24:20but I mean you guys
24:21have the chance to plan
24:22European trips
24:23how was it for you?
24:24I love that bit
24:25to be honest
24:26so like
24:26when it's stressful
24:27but it's the romantic part
24:30of the whole trip
24:30is figuring out the route
24:32of how you're going to get there
24:33the trains
24:34automobiles
24:34planes
24:34whatever way you're going to do it
24:36trying to figure it out
24:37working out if you can drive
24:38across the Autobahn
24:39to Germany
24:40and get on a train
24:41from there
24:41across to Denmark
24:42and then not even bothering doing it
24:44this is all the fun part of it
24:46Yeah it is the best part
24:47it's like
24:47why fly direct
24:49when you can go to
24:49as many different airports
24:50as you possibly can
24:51like for the
24:52Harst European trips last season
24:54like I flew to Berlin
24:55when Harst were playing Pilsen
24:56I just got a train from Berlin
24:57down to Prague
24:58a train from Prague
24:58to Pilsen
24:59on the way back
25:00flew from Pilsen to Oslo
25:01because my mate lives there
25:01I've stayed over at his
25:02and then got back to Edinburgh
25:03it's just
25:04you do it in whatever
25:05the cheapest
25:06and best way possible
25:07is that you can get
25:08the most enjoyment out of it
25:09We talked about
25:10planes, trains
25:11and automobiles
25:12to get there
25:12and this is a perfect example
25:14of this
25:14is Celtic's game
25:16against Cara Almaty
25:17a 3,500 mile round trip
25:19and this was perfectly captured
25:21by the fan
25:21John Tierney
25:22who posted this video
25:23on TikTok
25:24something special
25:25and I could run up these stairs
25:26and that's Almaty
25:28that is incredible
25:29what a cable car
25:30and it's going so quick
25:31oh my god
25:32this is brilliant
25:33Celtic
25:34here we go again
25:47did someone tell him
25:49that Kazakhstan
25:49is nearer the sun
25:51because those sunglasses
25:52are the biggest things
25:53I've ever seen
25:53what's that space man
25:54I really like this video
25:56you know
25:57John Tierney seems like
25:58a nice young guy
25:58he's got bags of enthusiasm
26:00loads of curiosity
26:01and my favourite thing
26:02about it
26:03it's him on a
26:04he describes it as a cable car
26:05it looks more like
26:05a one man roller coaster
26:06aye
26:07but sort of on this
26:07on this track
26:09singing Celtic songs
26:10that bewildered
26:11agricultural workers
26:16it's like
26:16it's always thought of
26:17as a negative thing
26:18that Scottish teams
26:19don't get into
26:20the tournaments proper
26:21but this is some
26:22of the beauty of it
26:23the early stages
26:24the early stages
26:25you can end up
26:25anywhere
26:25you can be in Gibraltar
26:26you can end up
26:27oh I'm going to Andorra
26:28in late July
26:29if you insist
26:30and that's all part
26:31of the fun
26:32you're going to places
26:33you've maybe never been before
26:34and football's the thing
26:36that makes you do it
26:37John's trip
26:38ultimately ended
26:39in an embarrassing defeat
26:40for Celtic
26:41an embarrassment
26:42on the European stage
26:43is something that we are
26:44sadly used to
26:45and when you think
26:45of the biggest embarrassment
26:46to happen to a Scottish team
26:48in Europe
26:49you think of
26:50then Rangers manager
26:51Pedro Cacinha
26:52in a bush
26:53arguing with fans
26:54after his team
26:54were dumped out
26:55of the Champions League
26:56by progress
26:57in need of corn
26:58I say in the bush
26:59why did he get into it
27:01because that's how
27:02he can point better
27:03if he's in the bush
27:04I think Scottish football
27:05we are probably
27:06the world's best
27:07at embarrassing
27:07European journeys
27:09I mean
27:09they happen nearly
27:10every single season
27:11we have had like
27:11Kilmarnock getting knocked out
27:13for Conisquay Nomads
27:14we had Celtic
27:16going to Gibraltar
27:17and they were lost
27:18to Lincoln Redden
27:19they had a policeman
27:21up front
27:21and all that
27:22for me
27:23my favourite
27:23embarrassment
27:24in Scottish football
27:26in Europe
27:26was Motherwell
27:27a couple of years ago
27:27at Sligo
27:28and this was
27:29perfect
27:30they just squeezed
27:31into European football
27:32the season before
27:33under Graham Alexander
27:34they're surely going to have enough
27:35they'll have enough
27:36going over to Sligo
27:37the fans will get a good away
27:38they were played off the park
27:40they were absolutely battered
27:41by the Sligo Rovers team
27:43and then
27:44you see the anger
27:45of the Motherwell fans
27:46at full time
27:46and it culminated
27:47in one of my favourite things ever
27:49Graham Alexander
27:50was sacked
27:50before August
27:51he hadn't even started
27:53the league yet
27:54and he was sacked
27:55punted out the door
27:55and that is
27:57the
27:58you know
27:58the perfection
27:59of a deeply embarrassing
28:01European result
28:01as it can actually
28:02cost you
28:02when you're in Europe
28:03I think it's important
28:04to behave respectfully
28:05unlike these Aberdeen fans
28:07in their match
28:08against HCK Helsinki
28:09who were pelting
28:10snowballs
28:11the goalkeeper
28:12who was in front
28:13of their stand
28:14to the extent
28:14that the stadium announcer
28:15had to warn them
28:16the match would be abandoned
28:18if he continued to do it
28:19I didn't realise
28:20Finnish people didn't know
28:20what having a laugh was
28:23I loved it
28:24Mum
28:24Mum
28:25Tell her
28:27Those funny sounding men
28:28are through on the floor
28:29When I was in Lucerne
28:31in Switzerland
28:32which is quite a small city
28:33and there was a fountain
28:34that was pretty much
28:35more like a well
28:36and it had the thing
28:37with a statue at the top
28:38of like a small military man
28:40and there was just
28:40a family there
28:42and the dad
28:43had put all the
28:44washing up liquid
28:44into it
28:45and it's all bubbling over
28:46and there's just two kids
28:47bobbing around
28:48and it like that
28:49and then the locals
28:50are just coming to the shops
28:50and they're going
28:51absolutely mental
28:52and they're like
28:53it's not that big a deal
28:53and they're like
28:54it's a water source
28:55it's a water source
28:56for the whole city
28:57Sorry
28:58for the whole city
28:59That's what they claim
29:00they phone the police
29:01so the blind panic
29:02the kids are getting out
29:03the kids are crying
29:04and the dad's like
29:05trying to suppress
29:06what's going on
29:07and he's trying to engage
29:08the locals
29:08and all they can come up with
29:09is like looking up
29:10at the fountain
29:11and go like
29:11who's that wee fella then
29:15so we just go to the pub
29:16and get away
29:17before we're lifted
29:17by the Swiss police
29:19Now listen
29:19I'm fed up actually
29:21of listening to you
29:22big time away days
29:23you know
29:24there's time to talk
29:25about the lower leagues
29:26and very briefly
29:28for a couple of years
29:29I actually just talked
29:29a couple of seasons ago
29:30there was teams
29:31in the Challenge Cup
29:32from Wales
29:33Northern Ireland
29:34Republic of Ireland
29:35and the English lower leagues
29:36were entered into the competition
29:37when teams were drawn
29:39away against these sides
29:40these became
29:41the big ticket items
29:43and perhaps the best example
29:44of a team
29:46playing away
29:47in Europe
29:48in the Challenge Cup time
29:49it was Dumbarton
29:51in the 2017-18
29:52semi-final
29:53against the New Saints
29:54in Oswestry
29:55That Froxellius free kick
29:57absolutely pings it
29:59from distance
29:59into the far corner
30:00and see the scenes
30:01in the background
30:02that's the most Dumbarton
30:03fans I've ever seen
30:04it's like there's more
30:05of them down in Wales
30:05than better than Dumbarton
30:07I think if you talk
30:08to any Dumbarton fans
30:09about that game
30:10they'll probably say
30:11it's one of their favourite
30:12memories they've had
30:13the way the ball
30:14swerves
30:15in there
30:16the goalkeeper's standing
30:16he's got absolutely
30:17no chance
30:18and it's great to see
30:19somebody waving
30:19a Cypriot flag
30:20in the background
30:21I don't know if that was
30:22for Celeste's family
30:23they came over for the match
30:24but nevertheless
30:24it's just an amazing moment
30:25I think this was
30:26one of the best ideas
30:27I've seen from
30:29football federations
30:30or whatever
30:31this was giving people
30:32who would never get
30:33the opportunity
30:33some of the chance
30:34to have these big trips
30:36to go and have
30:37these amazing moments
30:38and I was pretty stunned
30:39when I was stopped
30:40because for once
30:41it was done
30:41specifically for the fans
30:43probably isn't great
30:43for the clubs
30:44it probably costs them
30:45money to do it
30:46but who's the best
30:46it's for the fans
30:47the boys going on
30:48Sky
30:48Sky
30:49are typing
30:49in Boreham Wood
30:52Tony you're talking
30:54about the fans
30:54but there was one
30:55occasion when the fans
30:56were badly let down
30:58this was in the 2018
30:592019 quarter final
31:00between Bohemians
31:01and East Fife
31:02this was the chance
31:03for the Fifers
31:04to go to Dublin
31:05which is in terms
31:06of away games
31:07that must have been
31:07an absolutely top tier
31:09stuff
31:09however
31:10very very cold
31:11weekend in Dublin
31:12that weekend
31:13and the pitch was frozen
31:14seven minutes
31:15before the game
31:16was supposed to
31:17take place
31:18this happened
31:30Imagine being
31:31the member of the staff
31:32the chairman of Bose
31:33has gone down
31:34and been like
31:34you do it
31:36here's the microphone
31:37shaking
31:37it's definitely
31:38someone will try
31:39to make their way up
31:39and they won't
31:41we'll do it
31:41prove it
31:42however
31:42you talk to these
31:43Fife fans
31:44who made the trip over
31:45they talk it
31:46in spectacular terms
31:47they got the best of it
31:49they got to go over
31:50and have a great weekend
31:51with fellow East Fife fans
31:52and not have it ruined
31:53by football
31:53they got the best of it
31:56it's crazy
31:56because they at least
31:57got to go over there
31:58and experience a game
31:59that didn't happen
32:00but imagine
32:01going over there
32:02and not experiencing
32:02a game that did happen
32:04like this Dundee United fan
32:05who fell asleep
32:06during their shellicking
32:08against AZ Alkmaar
32:09a couple of years ago
32:10it's one of my favourite clips
32:11from Scottish football
32:12in the last decade
32:13I think
32:13because obviously
32:14they're getting absolutely
32:15hadded by Alkmaar as well
32:17and it's like
32:17I hope that he fell asleep
32:18at nil-nil
32:19when they were still in
32:20with a shout
32:21he woke up
32:22he's not falling asleep
32:23he's deliberately
32:23went to sleep
32:25have you guys
32:26had any mishaps
32:27on your travels
32:282012
32:29Concert Square
32:30Liverpool
32:31I decided
32:32after a good few beers
32:33to do the beaty
32:35which was
32:35taking your top off
32:36and running about
32:37like this
32:37of course
32:38this was after this
32:39copying his celebration
32:40against Celtic
32:41in the Scottish Cup
32:42semi-final
32:42and you scored that penalty
32:43exactly
32:43so what I did
32:44was I had a zippy
32:45and I took that off
32:46and I just sort of
32:46put it on a chair
32:47and then I took my top off
32:48and gave it to my mate
32:49and I was like
32:49right I'll be back
32:50in two minutes
32:50it was a great laugh
32:52a few other folk joined in
32:53and there was a
32:53sort of communal beaty
32:54I got back to my mate
32:56got back to my mate
32:57who was drunker than me
32:58and I was like
32:58where's my top
32:59and he was like
32:59what top
33:00and I was like
33:00oh no
33:01absolutely horrendous
33:02but at least
33:04that game
33:05you got to witness
33:06one of the all-time
33:07great hearts moments
33:08when David Templeton
33:09scored to take the lead
33:10against Liverpool
33:10at Anfield
33:11never celebrated a goal
33:12more than this in my life
33:13I probably never will again
33:14scoring away in Europe
33:15is like
33:16it's unlike scoring
33:18any other goal
33:18I feel
33:19and David Templeton
33:20here
33:20I mean obviously
33:20a big clanger by
33:21Pepi Dana
33:22I wasn't kidding
33:22absolutely flew
33:24about seven rows down
33:25it was just
33:26phenomenal
33:27and like
33:28yeah
33:28you forget that
33:29Luis Suarez scored
33:29about 70 seconds
33:30later
33:31to put Liverpool
33:31through
33:32but those 70 seconds
33:33of hope
33:34were just
33:34unbelievable
33:35you're spot on
33:36about how
33:37it hits
33:38differently
33:39it's because
33:40the build up
33:40can be
33:41weeks
33:42months
33:42building up
33:43to this moment
33:43when you finally
33:44get there
33:45and you've got
33:45the whole day
33:46building up
33:46to the game
33:46as well
33:47and it finally
33:47happens
33:48I mean
33:48the 11 minute
33:49salvo
33:50to turn the tie
33:51around
33:51against Morsov
33:52was genuinely
33:53like an
33:53outer body
33:54experience
33:54and granted
33:55of course
33:55it all ended
33:56in tears
33:56but still
33:57it was well
33:58worth the money
33:58the most hearts
33:59in the hips
33:59thing
34:00how good was that
34:01did you win
34:02now we can't
34:04get to European
34:05football
34:06without domestic
34:07football
34:08and there's
34:09plenty of big
34:10games taking
34:11place across
34:11the SPFL
34:12and elsewhere
34:13and Robert
34:14if we are
34:15going to talk
34:16about a big
34:16game
34:16we have to
34:17talk about
34:17the biggest
34:18of them all
34:19Tyne Castle
34:1912 o'clock
34:20on Sunday
34:21Hartford Midlothian
34:22versus Celtic
34:23biggest game
34:23of the season
34:24in the Scottish
34:24Premiership
34:25so far
34:25I think it's
34:26very fair to say
34:27Hearts
34:27currently with a
34:285 point lead
34:29they could
34:29stretch that
34:29to 8 points
34:30something that
34:31hasn't been done
34:31in I think
34:32decades
34:33a Diddy team
34:34taking a gap
34:36that size
34:36over one of
34:37the old firm
34:37and Celtic
34:39obviously coming
34:39to Tyne Castle
34:40off the back
34:40of that
34:41withering 2-0
34:42defeat
34:42at Denz Park
34:44it's such a
34:45novel feeling
34:46that Hearts
34:46are favourites
34:47going into a
34:47game against
34:48one of the
34:48old firm
34:49it's great
34:49but it's scary
34:50at the same
34:51time as well
34:52we've got the
34:52gap so even
34:53if we lose
34:53we're still
34:54top of the
34:54table
34:54and that's
34:54nice
34:55but this is
34:56a proper
34:56marker in the
34:57sand for
34:57both teams
34:58I know you
34:59said there's
34:59still the
35:00cushion
35:00but this
35:00feels massive
35:01in terms of
35:02if we are
35:03genuinely going
35:04to get a
35:04title race
35:05so it feels
35:05like now
35:06when Celtic
35:07seem to be in
35:07a bit of
35:08disarray
35:08that Hearts
35:09need to ramp
35:10up the points
35:10and get like
35:11double figure
35:11points ahead
35:12I think we've
35:13spoken about it
35:13on a view from
35:14the terrace
35:14in the past
35:15what it would
35:15take for a
35:16team outside
35:17the old firm
35:17to win the
35:18premiership title
35:19and basically
35:20need your team
35:20to have an
35:21amazing season
35:22and then both
35:23rain and Celtic
35:23to be miles
35:24off it
35:24and that appears
35:25to be the case
35:26at the moment
35:26if Hearts can
35:27go and win
35:27here
35:28I think that
35:28gives a lot
35:29of credence
35:29to that we
35:30do genuinely
35:31have a title
35:31race in the
35:32cards here
35:32I don't think
35:33you'll find
35:33any Hearts
35:33fans who
35:34say that it's
35:35a title race
35:36we're eight
35:36games into
35:37the season
35:37and I think
35:38that history
35:38obviously dictates
35:40Celtic at some
35:41stage this season
35:41they'll go on
35:42a 10-15 game
35:43unbeaten run
35:43and Hearts
35:44willed it at
35:45some stage
35:45as well
35:45so Tony's
35:46spot on
35:46get the points
35:47on the board
35:47now and then
35:48obviously you
35:49have got that
35:49cushion
35:50so really
35:50interesting game
35:51man
35:51I think
35:52Tynecastle
35:53is going to
35:53be like a
35:53mixture of
35:54excitement
35:54anxiety
35:55everything else
35:56on Sunday
35:57afternoon
35:59how are you
36:00feeling?
36:00Scared
36:01no you've
36:02got to be
36:02excited for
36:03games like
36:03this
36:03the whole
36:04point
36:04of the
36:05season
36:06like this
36:06is that
36:06you go
36:06into it
36:07confident
36:08you think
36:08you're
36:08going to
36:09win
36:09and listen
36:09if you
36:10don't
36:10then that's
36:11what happens
36:11but yeah
36:12excited
36:13excited
36:13how are you
36:14calling this
36:14one Tony?
36:15Celtic
36:15are two
36:15clear goals
36:17Robert?
36:17I think
36:18Hearts will
36:18win
36:19I think
36:19Hearts will
36:20win
36:20how are you
36:20calling it?
36:21I hope Hearts
36:22win but I
36:22think that Celtic
36:23won
36:23Celtic can't be
36:25possibly as bad
36:26as they were
36:26against Dundee
36:27now if you're
36:28talking about
36:28Hearts vs Celtic
36:30I'm going to
36:30talk about the
36:30game that's
36:31taking place
36:31later in the
36:32afternoon
36:32this is Rangers
36:33vs Kilmarnock
36:34and it's a big
36:35game because
36:36this is Danny
36:36Rose's first
36:37league match
36:38in charge of
36:39the club
36:40we know that
36:41winning the league
36:42is a massive deal
36:43for Rangers
36:44supporters
36:45not sure if that's
36:46going to be the
36:46case this season
36:47but nevertheless
36:47Danny Rule's got a
36:48chance to make an
36:49impression in front of
36:50his own support
36:50here
36:50and it's interesting
36:51and it's interesting
36:51you're talking about
36:52yourself in the
36:52third person
36:52when I saw the
36:54pictures of Danny
36:55Rule I thought
36:55my goodness
36:56when did I apply
36:56to the job of
36:57Rangers match
36:58I don't remember
36:59doing that
36:59why did I get it
37:02there's a
37:03remarkable likeness
37:04if you just get
37:04your hair out a
37:05little bit more
37:05again then yes
37:07he's got a tough
37:08job on his hands
37:09going into this
37:10game if Hearts
37:11beat Celtic
37:12then Rangers will
37:12be 16 points
37:13behind and on
37:14top of that
37:15Kilmarnock will be
37:16a nightmare for
37:17Rangers to play
37:18against this
37:19Rangers team
37:20that I can never
37:21remember
37:21and they
37:24Kilmarnock the way
37:24they're structured
37:25they're organised
37:26the calibre of
37:26players that they
37:27have within their
37:27team I think
37:28they'll be an
37:28absolute nightmare
37:29for Rangers to
37:29play against
37:30it seems massive
37:31for really
37:31they're not going
37:32to get anything
37:32the games are
37:33coming thick and
37:33fast now that
37:34they've started
37:35it's massive
37:35and I think that
37:36Rangers at Ibrox
37:37have been such a
37:38soft touch
37:38distance and teams
37:39are going there
37:40and really winning
37:41without having to
37:42pop into third or
37:42fourth gear
37:43but teams have
37:44gone there and
37:44just walked over
37:45them and the
37:45anxiety from the
37:46fans is so
37:47immediate in all
37:48those games as well
37:49how do we think
37:49this one will go
37:50I think Rangers
37:51will win
37:51I do think
37:52they'll win
37:52I think that
37:53Kilmarnock having
37:54seen them last
37:55weekend and the
37:56fact that there's
37:57a new manager
37:57coming in and
37:58there should be a
37:58little bit more
38:00leeway given by
38:01the Rangers fans
38:02I think it'll be a
38:02nicer atmosphere
38:03I think Rangers
38:04will win
38:05Kettlewell having
38:06such a good start
38:07to the season
38:07we all know how
38:08sure Kettlewell's
38:09football goes
38:09he wins lots of
38:11games and then he
38:12goes on a stinking
38:13run at the
38:13hearts game so
38:14I just think that
38:15will be the start
38:16of that and they'll
38:17lose 2-1 personally
38:18OK now Tony
38:19it's the second
38:21round of the
38:22Scottish Cup
38:22you've had your
38:23eye on the
38:24fixture card
38:24what have you
38:25picked out for us
38:25I've found
38:26Cameland Juniors
38:27playing Johnston
38:28Borough in the
38:29second round of
38:30the Scottish Cup
38:30and no matter
38:31what happens at
38:32Carmeers Park
38:33history is going
38:34to happen
38:35these two clubs
38:36have never been
38:37in the third
38:37round of the
38:38Scottish Cup
38:38so the opportunity
38:39is huge
38:40so that guarantees
38:41a huge atmosphere
38:42it guarantees loads
38:43of bums on seats
38:44it's going to be
38:45such an exciting
38:45game and for
38:47Johnson Borough
38:47this is actually
38:48the first time
38:48they've ever had
38:49a Scottish Cup
38:49campaign so for
38:50a team to have
38:51never done it and
38:52get all the way
38:52to the third
38:53round that would
38:54be exceptional
38:54and they don't
38:55even have the
38:56licence to do
38:56this because they
38:57couldn't be
38:58stopped
38:58because they won
39:02the Scottish Junior
39:03Cup last season
39:04so they've taken
39:05their rightful place
39:06and on top of
39:06that as well
39:06Johnson Borough
39:07there are a
39:07couple of
39:07well-known names
39:08within their ranks
39:09yeah Ian McShane
39:10Kyle Lafferty
39:11you know they've
39:11been known as
39:12high spenders for
39:14the level and
39:14ambitious I suppose
39:15you would call it
39:16as well but yeah
39:18there's a lot of
39:18intrigue around this
39:19one I mean anytime
39:20you put Kyle Lafferty's
39:21name next to anything
39:22you're kind of like
39:23well actually I want
39:24to watch that I want
39:25to see what happens
39:25here but it came
39:26in on the mugs as
39:27well they've had a
39:28great great start to
39:29the season in East
39:29of Scotland League so
39:30it should be a
39:31really interesting game
39:32it's the one that
39:32piqued my interest
39:33finally to the
39:34fixtures as well
39:34and what do you
39:35think the score
39:36will be for this
39:36one I think
39:37Johnston Borough
39:38I think the
39:38narrative's pushing
39:39for them
39:40that should be an
39:41absolute cracker
39:42but listen that
39:43brings us to the
39:43end of the show
39:44but before we
39:46head off into
39:47the sunset
39:48can I ask the
39:49two of you to
39:49play me at a
39:50little game known
39:51as the banker
39:53we are of course
39:55competing for the
39:56Eamon Brophy
39:57Lone Wolf Trophy
39:58never before has
40:00rhyming looked so
40:01good and after
40:03last week the
40:04league table hasn't
40:05changed I am still
40:06one point ahead of
40:07you both
40:08this week's stipulation
40:10your picks must be
40:12from the Scottish
40:13Cup second round
40:13and you can only
40:14pick teams who are
40:16playing against an
40:17opponent currently
40:18playing in a league
40:19above them
40:21okay Robert
40:22Borthwick will come to
40:23you first what are
40:24you going for
40:24Auchinleck Talbot
40:25to beat Gretna
40:262008
40:27oh explain yourself
40:28why do you think
40:29this thing's going to
40:29be upset
40:30because Auchinleck are
40:31at the very top of
40:32the division below
40:34Gretna and Gretna
40:35are at the very
40:35bottom of that
40:36division so it
40:37almost feels like a
40:37natural sort of
40:39coming together I
40:39think it's not a
40:40Cup upset if Auchinleck
40:42win this
40:42Auchinleck had
40:43decent pedigree in
40:43Scottish Cup you
40:44know in recent years
40:45especially they've got
40:46to good rounds had
40:47sort of big money
40:47spinning ties and
40:48played and stuff like
40:49so I can see them
40:50getting the victory
40:51very sound reasoning
40:52I am going for
40:53Musselburgh Athletic
40:55to beat Forfar Athletic
40:57so battle of the
40:58athletes for this one
40:59it's quite simple
41:00you know Musselburgh
41:00Athletic having a
41:01really good season so
41:02far at the top end
41:03of the East of
41:03Scotland League
41:04they are one point
41:05off the top of the
41:06table and of course
41:06they are the East
41:07of Scotland champions
41:08were beaten by
41:09Clyde Bank in the
41:09playoffs to get in
41:10the Lowland League
41:11last season so they
41:12are continuing to
41:13build in that campaign
41:14and they'll go on
41:15and have a strong
41:15season
41:15Forfar Athletic
41:16meanwhile no wins
41:17in four it's not
41:18really quite happened
41:19for Jim Wearside at
41:20the moment this
41:20season and I think
41:22they're going to be in
41:23for a difficult
41:23afternoon when they
41:24take on Musselburgh
41:25so that's why I am
41:26backing them
41:27Tory Anderson what's
41:28your pick?
41:29I'm going to go to
41:30Trenent where Dundee
41:32North End are the
41:33challengers so Trenent
41:35are not having quite as
41:37good a season as last
41:37season in the Lowland
41:38League they're sitting
41:39in fourth in the
41:39table at the moment
41:40and Dundee North End
41:41under Kevin
41:42McNaughton and
41:43Lewis Tojney they
41:45have won the
41:46Midlands League so
41:47you've heard of the
41:47Lowland League
41:48heard of the Highland
41:48League there's of
41:49course going to be a
41:50Midlands League and
41:51Dundee North End are
41:51dominating that league so
41:52I think maybe this is a
41:53time for them to take
41:54their step take a big
41:55step and go into the
41:56third round of the
41:57Scottish Cup
42:01I'm going for Caledonian
42:07Braves to beat Sterling
42:08Albion now the
42:09Caledonian Braves aren't
42:11having an amazing season
42:12sort of mid table in the
42:14Lowland League not
42:15performing to the same
42:16level they were last time
42:17around but really Sterling
42:18Albion another side to
42:19kind of quite make up my
42:21mind about them under
42:22Alan Mabry you know
42:23that's one win in the
42:24last five matches and
42:25that was against Dundee
42:26B in the KDM
42:27Evolution Trophy not the
42:28sternest of opposition
42:30they're likely to come
42:30against this season I
42:32think it's got Cup
42:32upset written all over
42:33it Caledonian Braves to
42:34get the win and another
42:35point to come to me
42:36they all make sense
42:38every single one of them
42:39makes sense
42:39you know something a lot
42:40of the time when we're
42:41doing the banker and
42:42people dig us out for
42:43getting things wrong it
42:45all comes from a good
42:46place you know I don't
42:47just say things without
42:48actually thinking about
42:49them I'm not a shock
42:50jock I'm not rage
42:51baiting the audience it
42:52all comes from a good
42:53place just sometimes
42:54things go wrong
42:55when you started that
42:55sentence I thought
42:56you were going to
42:56get really upset
42:59when we get things
43:00wrong can you stop
43:00messaging me
43:02take take take talk talk
43:04tell you talk a lot
43:05one last night for all
43:07say say is it gonna be
43:09the same
43:10do you remember my man
43:12if he used to say it
43:13every minute
43:14I wasn't getting
43:15something from the 70s
43:17I had a sense when I
43:18made me all the time
43:19and another kind of
43:21just ignore us
43:22and now say
43:23leave me in the 50s
43:24and
43:24don't
43:27don't
