00:01The greatest show on earth is about to begin.
00:07That is outrageous!
00:09And scores!
00:21Oh dear, oh dear.
00:35That's a howler!
00:40Is this what Scottish people is about?
00:43Delicious!
00:44Oh, what!
00:49Champions!
00:52This has been an absolute burnstormer!
01:01Hello and welcome to A View from the Terrace.
01:04The show that puts Scottish football in the oven
01:07and turns the temperature up to one million.
01:10My name is Craig Telfer
01:11and I am joined by two big boys
01:13who, at the very best, can be described as beautiful on the inside.
01:18Up first, it's a man who's been called a greasy thug,
01:21a trash-eating stink bag and a fridge too far.
01:23It's Craig Fowler.
01:25We've been called a greasy thug before and never stops hurting.
01:27And next, you've heard of the muscles from Brussels.
01:30We'll now meet the strong boy from Gorgoy.
01:32Hide the protein shakes, it's Joel Sked.
01:35We are the Gorgoy boys.
01:38Gentlemen, this is the final episode of 2025.
01:42What a ride it's been.
01:43It's gone too quickly.
01:44You know, but listen, there is no other people
01:46I would much rather be spending the final show of the year with
01:50than you both.
01:50I think that's a lie, but go on.
01:52It's definitely a lie.
01:53Enjoy the show.
01:59If we are finishing up for the year,
02:01then we are finishing up for the year with a bang.
02:04We are going to look through every division in the SPFL and beyond
02:09and look at the winners and the losers from the season so far.
02:13We will start with the Scottish Premiership.
02:15We will start with the big winners.
02:18We will start with Heart of Midlothian.
02:20What a season it's been for the JTs so far.
02:23Yes, Sunday aside, it's been fabulous.
02:27Starts this season like that don't come along too often for fans of clubs
02:31outside the old farm.
02:33There's been some great games, some great moments,
02:35and it's one of those where, just as a fan,
02:37you're just desperate for the next Saturday to come around.
02:39You're just desperate to see your team in action.
02:41And to show how desperate I have been to watch this heart side in action,
02:45I expect upwards of £200 to come home a day early from a holiday,
02:49fly to Aberdeen and get to Pataudry for kick-off.
02:54Money well spent?
02:56No.
02:59Sunday's defeat aside, Fowler, how has it been for you?
03:01Oh, it's been tremendous.
03:02You can't deny it.
03:03You must see every live game.
03:05Whether you watch on the telly or you're there in person,
03:07it is must-watch stuff because you can't miss anything.
03:10You can't miss these great moments.
03:12And I still think this team doesn't quite hold a candle to 1998 or 2005.
03:17No.
03:17However, I think they're probably the third best team I've seen in my lifetime
03:21supporting Harps.
03:22And there's just quality right through at the side,
03:24and it's been a joy, for the most part, to watch.
03:26Did you expect to be in this position at the start of the season?
03:29No, absolutely not.
03:30I just finished bottom six last season,
03:32and you're just looking for improvement,
03:34to be more competitive,
03:35and the aim was to finish third.
03:37So to be where we are is class.
03:41What's been the high point, then, of the campaign?
03:43Winning at Ibrox for the first time in what fell about 62 years was great.
03:48Every league deserved win. Comfortable performance.
03:50But I think it was probably being Celtic at home.
03:53It wasn't just the case.
03:54It was just like, will we win the league?
03:56It was like, how many points will we win the league by?
03:58And just that feeling when he got into the pub,
04:00and just that first pint, it's like, this is happening.
04:03But I mean, that did feel like a statement.
04:05Victory for Harps.
04:06Yes, it did.
04:07Unfortunately, since then, they've dropped points in three out of four matches,
04:10lost their first game of the season against Aberdeen.
04:12Performances have not been great.
04:14It's just not going to look like the mark of champions.
04:16I have rolled back those expectations.
04:19This is a blip. Just a wee blip.
04:22I mean, when it comes to me and you're lifting up that trophy,
04:24you'll be looking back at the defeat at Aberdeen and thinking,
04:27what are we all worried about?
04:28I mean, we talked a lot about Tony Bloom and his influence
04:31that he's had at Hearts this season.
04:33His Jamestown analytics has been able to uncover some,
04:36well, unheralded, some fantastic players.
04:38Who has been the pick of the bunch?
04:40I think it's been Alexandros Kisaridis.
04:43I know that Claudio Braga would be another popular shout.
04:45I think it's between the two, really.
04:47But Kisaridis is the kind of one that's got the,
04:50just kind of that extra bit of talent.
04:52He's created the most chances in the league.
04:53He's got the most assists.
04:54He can, as he's proved on numerous occasions,
04:57batter the ball in from distance.
04:58Yeah, that goal against Falkett was a smash-up.
04:59He's just exciting.
05:00He's the type of player that Hearts fans have been kind of
05:03starred off in recent seasons, just stood.
05:04He's one of those players that every time he gets the ball,
05:06you kind of naturally lean forward.
05:08Would you expect something to happen?
05:09We'll come on and talk about the losers
05:12from the Scottish Premiers,
05:13and I think you've got to put Rangers in that bracket.
05:16Yes, I know recent results have picked up under Danny Rule,
05:19but I think the big issues that they've had
05:21have not just been on the park, but off the park as well.
05:24Just earlier in the week,
05:25they got rid of two hugely unpopular figures at the club.
05:28The CEO, Patrick Stewart, left alongside
05:30the sporting director, Kevin Felwell.
05:33What did you make of their departures?
05:35I think a massive boost for the fans.
05:38I think it alleviates some of the noise that's going to be,
05:41like the Ibrox and the disgruntlement.
05:45They leaving doesn't mean that Rangers are suddenly going to be able
05:49to find simple long balls, but they move,
05:52and I think it's a bigger, a longer-term issue.
05:55And you just go back to the summer where Russell Martin,
05:57they made a misstep with him.
05:59They made a bit of a mess of his replacement,
06:03and then kind of back and forth.
06:04But the biggest issue was the recruitment.
06:07That was embarrassing.
06:08A lot of money being spent.
06:09It was like a £20 million net spend,
06:11and to then be delivered with that squad,
06:15they've settled themselves back a couple of years,
06:16because that's going to take a long time,
06:18or certainly a few transfer windows, to fix.
06:21I think, despite recent results,
06:22that I'm still pretty negative about Rangers for the rest of the season,
06:25because I just don't think that team is that good.
06:27Yeah.
06:28But they have given us some great moments so far this season.
06:31That's the thing.
06:32It's like, I think Rangers fans coming in this summer
06:35thinking with the investment,
06:36the American investment is like,
06:37right, this is a new era for the club,
06:39but they've kind of just reverted to Bante's years,
06:41you know, and it's been incredible.
06:43Yeah, my highlight was the supporters
06:46lying down behind the bus at Falkirk.
06:48Russell Martin having to get led out by security,
06:51that was a low point.
06:53Is there anything to suggest that Rangers could be title contenders?
06:57I think they'll be closer,
06:59just because the Harts will drop points
07:02and Celtic will drop points.
07:04I think there's a fragility about Celtic,
07:06but Rangers as well.
07:07Celtic are getting a new manager in soon,
07:09and that can always go spectacularly wrong,
07:12if it's just the wrong man in the wrong movie.
07:14So there is potential there, but it's hard to see.
07:17What about Celtic then?
07:19We'll go over to the other side of Glasgow
07:20and look at them.
07:22You know, I think of all the teams there,
07:24perhaps the side's most capable of putting together
07:26an eight game winning streak
07:27to ultimately go top of the table.
07:30And of course, prior to Christmas,
07:31they could be the league leaders
07:32and the League Cup holders as well.
07:34But all is not well at that football club.
07:37We thought we'd seen the Nadir
07:38when the board banned the Green Brigade.
07:40The scenes that we saw at the AGM last week
07:43actually topped that with a number of fans
07:45holding up red cards,
07:46booing the board, protesting at the AGM
07:48to the extent that Peter Lawwell
07:50actually had to call the thing off.
07:52They did the huff there, did they?
07:53A bit performative, yeah.
07:55But nevertheless, it just shows though
07:57the complete disconnect between the supporters
07:59and the people running the club.
08:01It's an absolute farcical situation.
08:02That's not what you expect from a club
08:04the size of Celtic.
08:05And what we're seeing as well now,
08:06the Green Brigade, because they have been locked out
08:08of their games.
08:09They're heading to Celtic B matches
08:11in the Lowland League.
08:12They actually turned up en masse
08:14for their game against Cowdenbeath
08:15at Central Park at the weekend there.
08:17They lost that match 2-1,
08:18but they certainly were very noisy,
08:20very colourful as they tend to be.
08:22But as we mentioned there, you know,
08:23Celtic, there has been managerial upheaval there.
08:26We did mention they are the side
08:28that can pull together like eight game winning streaks.
08:32Surely they must be favourites to win the division,
08:34even at the expense of Hearts.
08:35Yeah, I would say they're definitely still favourites.
08:37What I would say is that I think a lot of people are expecting
08:40that maybe when Celtic goes back to the top of the table,
08:43that the disconnect or discord will then quieten down.
08:47And I don't think that's going to be the case.
08:49Fans are now just kind of separated, you know,
08:51what's happening on the park from what's happening off it.
08:53And even the only thing that's really going to get unity,
08:57harmony in the club once again, is next summer.
08:59If the boards spend money before the Champions League
09:02qualifiers take place and Celtic make the Champions League.
09:05I think that's the only thing that's going to quieten down
09:07and the Celtic fans.
09:07I don't think another league title is going to do it.
09:09It's magic, isn't it, when Raiders and Celtic are both just really bad
09:12at the same time.
09:13When the winners just saw such dysfunctional messes, it's class.
09:17We've looked at the title picture.
09:19Are there any unexpected winners from the Scottish Premiership this season?
09:22It's got to be Falkirk.
09:23John McGlynn is pound for pound the best manager in Scottish football.
09:27What he's done at the Falkirk Stadium is, it's miracle work.
09:32It's incredible.
09:33When he took charge, I think Falkirk were languishing in League One.
09:36A laughing stock amongst Scottish football.
09:38Galvanised the fan base.
09:40Made the team better.
09:41An unbeaten league winning season in 23-24.
09:44Won the championship last season.
09:46They've come up and they're in contention for European football this time around.
09:49And the incredible thing about it is that he's got so many players in that squad
09:52who were in that League One title winning undefeated team.
09:56And they're still the kind of core of that side.
09:59And that's why a lot of people, including myself, thought they'll finish bottom.
10:03It goes back to John McGlynn.
10:04John McGlynn, 2.0, maybe 3.0 now, working wonders in the Scottish Premiership.
10:09And it goes back to his door.
10:11I think the most important thing, finishing in 10th place, consolidating, building again.
10:15And just establishing yourself as a top flight club.
10:18I think we'll still take that if offered.
10:20Oh dang, but some ride they're on.
10:21We'll drop into the Scottish Championship and we'll talk about the big winners of the
10:25last few weeks.
10:26And that is Partick Thistle Football Club.
10:28Currently joint top of the table alongside St Johnson.
10:32Yeah, so we've got a proper title race in the championship and that's great.
10:35I think most people expected St Johnson to be in a title race this season.
10:39I don't think many expected Partick Thistle to be there because they had...
10:42Some summer, wasn't it?
10:43It was a summer from hell.
10:45Yeah, no one expected them to be in this position.
10:47There was like civil war off the park between the owners of the club, the fans and the board.
10:52Their managerial search went on and then they eventually went for Mark Wilson, who didn't
10:57look like a great hire.
10:58And you were starting to look at Partick Thistle being involved in the other playoffs as opposed
11:03to the Premiership playoffs, but they've been excellent.
11:05Yeah, they have.
11:06They're really exuberant.
11:07They're really on the front foot.
11:08They're really energetic, really passionate.
11:10And there really feels like there's a strong connection at the moment between the fans and
11:15the players on the park.
11:16They're all really going in a good direction.
11:18And of course, beating St Johnson at the weekend helps.
11:21And then falling off with a 1-0 win over Dunfermline Athletic on Tuesday night.
11:24To go level at the top of the table.
11:26The club feels like they're in a really, really strong place at the moment.
11:29You mentioned that connection.
11:30It's kind of different to St Johnston where there was that expectation.
11:34There was no expectation on Partick Thistle.
11:36I think they would just be happy with a mid-table finish.
11:39No stress, no issues.
11:41Now they're in a position where they didn't expect and they can kind of just enjoy it,
11:45but they're there on merit.
11:47Now, we did expect a title race at the top of the championship.
11:50We thought it was going to be between St Johnston and Ross County.
11:54However, County are probably the big losers, not just of the championship,
11:58but maybe the whole of Scottish football.
12:00I think, pound for pound, the worst team in the country so far this season.
12:03They just seem like a bit of a chaotic mess.
12:06They've got a massive squad with lots of parts that don't fit together.
12:09And even off the park as well.
12:11Because they brought in Tony Doherty.
12:13They already had John Robertson there as their kind of experienced assistant
12:17to Don Cowie, who they then sacked in August.
12:19And then when Doherty came in, they also brought in Callum Davidson.
12:21The expression, too many cooks.
12:23Yes.
12:23I'm just imagining just them all three looking over this tiny pot with their big ladles
12:26and all wanting to add salt and pepper, and it's just not working yet.
12:30Going back to the summer, I think when they signed Declan Gallagher and Ross Doherty,
12:33I thought they're really smart signings.
12:35These are guys who have won the championship previously,
12:37guys who are experienced, capable players.
12:40Declan Gallagher, not long ago, was part of the Scotland squad
12:42that got to Euro 2020.
12:45But they don't seem any better now than they were at the start of the season.
12:48Tony Doherty, as you mentioned, came in to replace Don Cowie.
12:51He has been allowed to bring in his own players.
12:53The squad is really bloated.
12:54And you know that expression, too good to go down?
12:57I don't think that's the case for County.
12:59They've lost to all the teams that are around them.
13:01They drew at the start of the season with their Drionians,
13:03beaten by Queen's Park.
13:04Greenup Morton, the last time they played, turned them over 3-0.
13:07The club just has a real whiff around it at the moment.
13:10Blame can go all around.
13:11They can go to Don Cowie, starting the season poorly.
13:14They can go to Tony Dock, certainly go to the players,
13:17underperformance.
13:18But also, the hierarchy at the club have overseen this,
13:21so they have to understand why it's going like that
13:24before they can start just going,
13:26let's bring in more players and try and fix it.
13:28Yeah, definitely.
13:29I think that a lot of the fans' attention
13:30has moved beyond the players, the manager,
13:32and it's Steven Ferguson, the CEO.
13:34I think he is getting a lot of heat at the moment.
13:36We will drop then into League One,
13:39and I suppose we'll have to talk about
13:40the big losers of the season so far,
13:43and that's Hamilton Academical.
13:45Where is their rock bottom, Craig Fowler?
13:47Where is their rock bottom?
13:49Where is rock bottom?
13:50Incredibly, despite the fact that this season alone
13:53have had a transfer embargo points deduction,
13:55a winding up order,
13:56having their sole director and their owner
13:58being found not fit and proper by the SFA,
14:00although one of them is currently appealing it.
14:03What else have I missed there?
14:04Moving ground against the supporters' wishes,
14:07having their academy paused,
14:08having the board bring out statements
14:10antagonising supporters,
14:13having a takeover that looked like
14:14it might be able to save the club,
14:15now looking on the brink of collapse.
14:18Yeah.
14:18I'm not sure that rock bottom has even been found yet.
14:22It's remarkable.
14:23You know, all those things you've listed,
14:24those are the kind of things that some clubs
14:27will go through across like three or four decades,
14:29but this has all happened to Hamilton
14:31in the space of like six or seven months.
14:33The big thing about Hamilton,
14:35you've got to feel sorry for the players within this
14:38because they have been performing well,
14:39despite all of it.
14:41John Rankin, who has been...
14:43Really impressed with John Rankin.
14:44He's probably been the person
14:44who's been holding it together
14:45and making Hamilton competitive.
14:47Of course, the fans,
14:48so having to suffer that,
14:49and like you said,
14:50having to suffer all in such a short period of time.
14:53But I don't know if Hamilton in the last few years,
14:56it just feels like maybe it's not as drastic as this,
14:59but something like this has been coming down the road.
15:01Aki's fans have been saying it for years,
15:03even before the change in ownership,
15:05that...
15:06It's been a stink.
15:06Aye, they have been at odds
15:08with the custodians of the club for years and years now,
15:10going back to when they were in the Premiership.
15:13And it's just now,
15:15things have just gone worse and worse.
15:17And I just feel really sorry for Aki's fans
15:19because they're facing a real possibility
15:21that their club could go extinct in the very near future.
15:24Do you think they'll still be around when we are back on?
15:26I mean, there's a chance that they won't be there.
15:28In fact, something I missed out for that lengthy list earlier
15:30was the SPFL withholding £70,000
15:32because they don't believe that Aki's
15:35will be able to fulfil all their fixtures this season.
15:38That's really scary.
15:39Hopefully, hopefully we can come to some sort of resolution
15:41and the club have a brighter future ahead of them.
15:44Despite the fact that the club is a complete basket case,
15:46there is a loyal support who are passionate about it,
15:49who can put money into it.
15:50And if they can manage to wrestle the club free
15:53from the people in charge of it,
15:54there is sunnier days in the future.
15:55It is an investment maybe worth having.
15:57A team who were not a million miles away
15:59from the situation Hamilton were in last season
16:01are the big winners this campaign,
16:03Inverness, Caledonia and Thistle.
16:04Yes, just 18 months since they were relegated
16:06under the useless stewardship of Duncan Ferguson
16:09and only 13 months since they were in administration.
16:13They have risen like a phoenix out of the ashes.
16:15Under the brilliant management of Scott Kelliker,
16:18they lead the division.
16:19And not only that, they've got far and away the best record
16:21because we must remember that due to being in administration
16:24last season and the very start of this season,
16:26they've also got a five-point deduction.
16:29Comfortably the best side in the league.
16:31I know they drew 1-1 at Allo Athletic on Tuesday night,
16:33but prior to that they beat Queen of the South 4-0.
16:35A very convincing performance and just showed you
16:38all the really good qualities they have there.
16:40Strong in midfield, you know, dynamite and attack.
16:43But even more impressive than that, Scott Kelliker, the manager,
16:46definitely the right man at the right place at the right time
16:49to come in off the back of Duncan Ferguson.
16:52You know, he has played for the club, he has coached the club,
16:54now he's managing them.
16:55And I think that he is a real beacon for fans
16:59and I think that, a bit lame to say, but I think he gets
17:02what it's like to support Inverness, Caledonia and Thistle.
17:05I think it's something that's really important.
17:06There's absolutely no question that Scott Kelliker gets Inverness
17:10and I do think that helps with that connection with the fan base.
17:13Into League 2 and the big winners are everyone else
17:17who gets to watch this fantastic title race
17:19emerging between the Spartans and East Kilbride.
17:22You were there on Saturday, see one half of them?
17:25Yes.
17:25East Kilbride against Edinburgh City?
17:26Yes, aye, very entertaining game between the sides.
17:28East Kilbride won, Edinburgh City won
17:30and that point has just allowed East Kilbride to nudge
17:32that little step closer to the Spartans
17:35who were demolished 4-0 by Strenard.
17:38But nevertheless, both clubs are having really strong seasons
17:40and there's a lot of similarities between the two of them.
17:43You know, both recently promoted from the Lowland League as champions.
17:46Relatively small clubs that play in maybe unappealing stadiums.
17:49On the flip side, probably the big difference is the men who manage the teams.
17:53Yeah, that's actually a really good point.
17:55If you look at the Spartans, they're managed by Dougie Samuel,
17:57the longest serving manager in the SPFL at the moment.
18:01But we never really hear from him.
18:03We never really see from him.
18:04The Spartans don't share post-match interviews on their social media
18:06or their YouTube channels.
18:08So we don't really know what his opinion is of how the game's gone
18:11or just about how the season's going on the whole.
18:14You compare that to East Kilbride, managed by Mick Kennedy,
18:17famously allowed the cameras in to film his pre-match team talk
18:22when he was the Darville manager for their games against Aberdeen and Falkirk
18:25in the Scottish Cup.
18:26He's a man who's just really, really happy to share his opinion and talk.
18:30He's quite ebullient in the way he conducts himself.
18:33But I think there's a very interesting battle emerging by the two new boys
18:37at the top of the table.
18:38But aren't you missing a team out?
18:40Yes, I am. Yes, I am.
18:41I was hoping you would ask me about the third team, Clyde Football Club,
18:45who, after their 1-0 win against Anan Athletic on Saturday,
18:49they are now just four points from the Spartans at the summit of the table.
18:52Have Clyde got the best manager?
18:54I think Darren Young's arguably the best manager in the entire division.
18:58I think he is a League Two specialist.
19:00He has won the division twice in the past with Albion Rovers
19:03and with Sterling Albion.
19:05I think he's done a really good job.
19:06So, very, very interesting battle between now and the end of the season.
19:10And by the time we come back on,
19:12I actually fancy Clyde to be top of the table by then.
19:16I think they're going to split the new boys.
19:17I don't think it's that much of a long shot shot there
19:20because Clyde didn't win for the opening month of the season.
19:23They really had a slow start.
19:24And since then, they've been the best team in League Two.
19:27We'll move out of the SPFL.
19:29I mean, there are interesting title races taking place
19:32in the Highland League and in the Lowland League
19:34and Joel Skid in the SWPL as well.
19:37The last few years, the winners have been Glasgow City, Rangers, Celtic and Hibs.
19:42But I do think it will change hands again.
19:45The top two teams at the moment are Glasgow City
19:47and four points behind are Hearts.
19:49So, Glasgow City, over the last few years,
19:51we always expected them to fall away
19:53just because of Celtic and Rangers and their rise in Glasgow.
19:57But Dan Ross continues to do a really good job.
19:59And the way she's built them, they're set up to do really well in the big games
20:04because they don't concede a lot.
20:06They're a really solid team.
20:08On the flip side, Hearts Women under Eva Oled
20:10have got a really potent attack in Georgia Timms,
20:13there's Bailey Hutchison and Carly Johns.
20:15And it feels like Oled probably has the best squad she's ever had during her time at Hearts.
20:22They just need to get over the last hump and that is beating Glasgow City.
20:25They're probably the team that they've struggled against the most over the last few years.
20:29So, that is an interesting dynamic at the moment.
20:31And what about Hibernian, the reigning champions?
20:33They're struggling a wee bit at the moment.
20:35They've had a wee bit of difficulty with injuries.
20:37The most recent has been Kathleen McGovern,
20:39who is arguably the best striker in Scotland.
20:42She had to pull out the Scotland women's national team for the upcoming internationals.
20:46And then they've not done well enough in the games amongst the top five.
20:49Joel Skade, I'm going to paint a picture for you.
20:51We are back in the box in 2026.
20:54At the top of the SPFL Premiership is Heart of Midlothian.
20:57At the top of the SWPL is Heart of Midlothian.
21:01You must be excited by the prospect of that.
21:04Can you see those goosebumps?
21:06Can I see them?
21:07Oh, ouch!
21:13I'm wearing a hockey jersey, being a true Canadian.
21:19Okay?
21:25I was with her for 25 years.
21:29She becomes your whole world, right?
21:32She ended up leaving with another guy.
21:35I thought we were going to be together.
21:38You lose your best friend.
21:41You lose a lot of weight.
21:42You don't eat.
21:43You don't sleep.
21:44But as you grow older, you realize that you have less time, right?
21:49You want to do something else, you know?
21:51You know, there's a saying in French,
21:54Le coffre fort ne suit pas le corbillard.
21:57The safe will not follow you in the funeral home.
22:00So spend some.
22:02You're going to see the start of a new chapter.
22:07Now it's Mario's time.
22:18The new owner of Dumbarton hopes to build solid foundations at the football club.
22:24Mario Lapointe says he's putting half of his retirement money into Dumbarton.
22:29In the past, I had a hockey team and I loved it.
22:34I have a son that plays football.
22:37So I started to look at teams.
22:40I like to buy things that I can continue building, like here.
22:45This location is unique.
22:49The castle is a Disney-like location.
23:03Did you see? Did you see?
23:06A hockey jersey?
23:07So, a hockey jersey?
23:09When I arrived here, I felt like an outsider.
23:13I'm a French-Canadian from Montreal.
23:16The trust of the fans was not there yet.
23:20Yeah, I know, I know.
23:21I had to win them over.
23:24Hello, everybody.
23:25Thank you for being here.
23:28I do not want to be that owner that you'll never see, that you'll never talk to.
23:33I want everybody to talk to me.
23:40In Canada, I play music.
23:42I have like 20,000 people listening to my music on Spotify every month.
23:50We said we're going to do a show for the fans.
23:53I think it's a nice way of introducing myself so that people get to know me more through the music.
24:02This is who I am now
24:07It's all about your will now
24:11Like, my songs are about, you know, the ups and downs of life.
24:15Being authentic is important for me.
24:18I did a song for Dumbarton.
24:22I wrote something about the wind, the Clyde, the rock.
24:26My music has been my medicine.
24:28The guitar has been my medicine.
24:31The guitar has been my medicine.
24:41I needed that.
24:42I needed to do that.
24:44Our fans will walk out knowing a lot more Mario now.
24:49The guitar has been my son.
24:52And he's been my son.
24:57And he's been my son of God.
24:59His son of God came out.
25:00He's been my son of God.
25:04Putting this gun back on his feet is very important.
25:08And Barton, in a certain way, is like me.
25:15but if we start saying in a bad place and this shit this is shit this is shit what are
25:22you
25:22gonna track let's go get it change your attitude you know be be more positive around things
25:51if I'm passionate about a team that you've been passionate for generations I think we're on the
25:56same weight play the fans come here for 90 minutes they forget about their pain they forget about
26:04their headaches life as a way of twisting and turning I can't fix everything right but give
26:23me a chance you know give me a chance to prove that we're on the right way all the ups
26:28and all the downs
26:29yeah the friend of mine is Mario you're my Ted Lasso you know he goes yeah but maybe you get
26:40that girl
26:40though Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat yes it really is the most wonderful time of
26:57year a chance where we can kick back with our nearest and dearest and bask in the glory of
27:02exchanging gifts with one another now Craig Fowler Joel Sked I have been out and about around the
27:09country looking at every single club shop to bring you both and you at home the very best merchandise
27:16that the discerning football fan would want for their Christmas so let's dig in to Craig's big sack
27:23and see what is on offer oh the jokes rate itself as a Celtic football club match day savings box
27:33I
27:35don't know me if you ever want to pretend you are a member of the Celtic board now is your
27:40chance what
27:41you can do is this you can put all your spare change in it and then never touch it and
27:45then I
27:47and then invite a load of men with red cards round to your house to boo you and then shoo
27:51them away
27:52after half an hour in the 90s you still would say that Celtic had the biscuit tin that's leaving
27:57that's even smaller I think if you went into the the boardroom at Celtic Park you'd just find loads of
28:02these yeah just stuff full of pound coins every board member's got one yeah I like the idea of match
28:07day savings I mean what does that mean is that the money that you save up you can crack it
28:11open and
28:11then go and buy pies and drinks and merchandise from from the club shop or is this a if you
28:17are
28:17part of the Green Brigade and you've been kicked out this is where you put all the money you've
28:20saved from from not going to the game it's so small right it's an Angus the Bull Aberdeen themed
28:30hand sanitizer holder I think it's fair to say that that was brought out in either 2020 or 2021 yes
28:37I mean
28:37this is Angus the Bull the Aberdeen mascot holding on Aberdeen flag in one hand and an NHS flag and
28:45the
28:45other this screams COVID-19 pandemic maybe there's a warehouse in these somewhere in the north east of
28:51the country and they are absolutely desperate to get rid of them this is going for the low low price
28:56on the Aberdeen website of 20 pence and it's a shipping not like a fiver shipping as a fiver so
29:03for as
29:03little as five pounds 20 you can have this Angus the Bull themed hand sanitizer it seems really
29:11impractical with these bits sticking out the sides like if you had that in your pocket that would
29:15definitely get caught I mean and that's nothing what is a what do you do with this what do you
29:20tether this to well we can see that's not sturdy it's not sturdy now you are both very well-traveled
29:31men I've got something that you guys will definitely use next time you're on your travels it is a heart
29:37of
29:37Midlothian themed travel cushion look at this oh there's was no back in that if there was a back
29:45then that would day that would really benefit you I think they're over eight it well maybe because
29:52people do what tell for just that they're everybody does this but like if you're if you're falling asleep
29:56like in a flight or something your head goes forward not really really super afraid surely it makes
30:00more sense to this and you it's a good point actually I kind of look like a horse actually
30:13surely this is the sort of thing you guys will be using a lot of next season
30:16when you're in the Champions League I turn up at the airport with or any mates turned up at the
30:22airport that clipped on the backpack they shouldn't be allowed to go on the trip
30:29let's see what else we have in here yes Queen's Park Football Club reached the first final in 125
30:38years when they took on Livingston and the SPFL Trust Trophy back in March and here we have a t
30:47-shirt
30:47to commemorate the event now what was the score in that match it'll be four or five nil five nil
30:54by
30:55Livingston yes so it is a t-shirt to commemorate a match but it's also a commemoration of one of
31:00the most a humiliating defeats in their recent history it's quite a smart pool they see it's
31:06incredible to think that this is still available on the the Queen's Park website and you've just got
31:11to think who is who would you buy this for I am the type of person who would if something
31:18bad
31:18happened in harsh history I would say I was probably still buy it they're kind of the fatalism aspect of
31:23it so you so you would get a polo shot the hud's heartless hero have seven January one 1973 would
31:30you perhaps not we have this item from Dunfermline Athletic it is a Sammy the Tammy lion rampant keyring
31:41basically it's a lion rampant body with the face of Sammy the Tammy on it I if you've ever wondered
31:49what Sammy the Tammy looks like naked I think that's we've got a good impression here
31:56he looks a lot of slim on yeah I mean there's he looks a lot of sun with no clothes
32:00on it does it
32:01it does look quite scary doesn't it could you imagine though those Sammy the Tammy had gone to
32:06like a like Weight Watchers and there's a graphic of Sammy the Tammy standing in his old trousers
32:10and he's got his thumb in them showing how wide his waist used to be and this is the new
32:14Sammy the
32:14Tammy and he's grown a tail listen he's smiling he's happy about it he's benefiting from it so that's
32:20the most important thing and you can now have it attached to your keys but it just shows you you
32:24can slap Sammy the Tammy on anything and it will it's good merchandise when you think of famous
32:31skylines what do you think of New York London yeah London Paris the Empire State Building the the Tower
32:38of London you know Paris the Eiffel Tower what about this from our bro football club this is I'm not
32:46sure
32:47what this is actually terrifying is what it is good lord what is that yes it's it's like a graveyard
32:52night and we've got something here to me that says floodlights yeah so we're assuming that is
32:57Gayfield but I suppose that the rest of it I don't know what that what this is it looks like
33:01something
33:01out of a cult horror film this is what the Arbor Skyline looks like I think some horror director
33:06should be pitching up to Scotland quite soon I don't like I I I wouldn't want to have this mug
33:11in my house I think it's got like a demonic presence to do you think there's the there's the
33:16horror film yeah there you go there and like an episode of the X-files the haunted mug you guys
33:22know
33:23I enjoy the finer things in life so I actually bought this for myself this is very expensive chocolate
33:30from Motherwell now this only cost three pounds fifty but because of postage and packaging it's
33:36actually closer to a tenner so you know this is a I'm I'm hoping for for big things please
33:43Fowler go and dig in and let us know what you let us know what you think there you go
33:47Joe tuck in
33:48okay let's see what do we what do we think of this Motherwell themed chocolate are we sure that's a
33:56date
33:56best before round February 2027 it's better to say that Joe's not a fan would you say this is worth
34:0210 pounds no no we all know what hearts fans like they like golf they also like rugby and we've
34:16got
34:16this very knacky item from the hearts club store it is a heart and midlothian rugby top lovely
34:24harlequins there just just just don't help ourselves sometimes really don't help ourselves I mean what
34:29what what do you think is this something you guys would there would be into absolutely not no
34:33well why not I mean I thought I thought that's when you're not at the when you're not at the
34:38hearts games that's it you're doing you're doing at money field day cheering the boys on showing
34:41respect to the kicker I wouldn't dignify that response I would like I just I'm going to ask if
34:46you could a try the own model it for us good thing there we go look at that you look
34:54I'm no
34:57no it looks very a somebody from an Ivy League school doesn't he yeah with that sort that sort
35:03of get up there's not a heart fan I know who likes rugby so oh I'd say it's a stereotype
35:06yeah if you
35:07had to choose one of those items to take up the road with you what are you picking I go
35:14for the
35:14haunted mug I know I would not want that haunted mug anywhere near my house in fact what I think
35:19I'm
35:19going to do like you know that the end of Jumanji where they throw the like Jumanji into the sea
35:24I
35:25think I'm going to do the same thing with your mum you get home and then you open the cupboard
35:32right enough with the gifts and on with the football is the Scottish Cup third round taking
35:38place this weekend arguably the most exciting round of the entire competition there are a number of
35:44exciting fixers and if I had to pick out the most interesting of the entire draw is Dumbarton
35:50versus Auchinleck Talbot at the Rock tell me more when you think of potential banana skins I think
35:56anytime you see the name Auchinleck Talbot that is almost like a warning saying I think they're a team
36:00that any SPFL site would dread drawing Dumbarton especially because they are not in good form at the
36:07moment Dumbarton have picked up one win in their last eight games and they found themselves falling
36:12down the table and there are big question marks about Stevie Farrell's management of the team
36:17and I worry that Dumbarton could come a cropper in this game and it could have serious ramifications
36:22for the manager yeah supporters it seems like most fans are at the kind of end of their tether with
36:26his managerial reign and it's it only feels like it's going towards a natural conclusion and that could
36:32be speeded up it's fair to say by a cup exit they lost 4-1 to 4-5 Athletic at
36:39the weekend the fans
36:40booed the team and the manager off the pitch in his post-match interview Farrell said the fans were
36:44actually right to do that and it feels like we might be reaching a tipping point it feels like
36:49we've reached a tipping point a number of times but this one feels a bit more acute than previously
36:53would it be a shock weirdly no it would be a cup upset but not a shock yeah if you
36:59know what I mean
36:59yeah yeah how are Auchinleck getting on Auchinleck are doing very well at the moment they are unbeaten in
37:04their west of scotland premier division title challenge they just dropped two points all season and I think
37:09it's going to be between them and Trun to actually win the division so they are very strong
37:13are you calling this one yeah I'll go for the shock okay like yeah they've done been doing really
37:18really well west of scotland league so yeah I'm going to go for Dumbarton for this one I quite like
37:22to be a little bit contrary that's what I think the big game is taking place in the scottish cup
37:26third round is but are there any fixtures that have caught your eyes yes stranard at home to
37:32Clyde bank so I think this would be very interesting to be a test of Clyde bank's mettle because they
37:37are
37:37leading the lowland league at this point in time obviously a big chance therefore that they could
37:41maybe come up this season and stranard have been in great form recently I think earlier on this season
37:46I would have said Clyde bank would have been favourites but right now this is a very difficult
37:49one to call joe what about you always look at the teams do well in the lowland league and highland
37:54league
37:54to see who they're up against and I have to go for clack mccurden away at steno smear they are
37:58obviously doing excellently in league one come on coming off the back of a really good performance and result
38:03on on saturday whereas clack mccurden are doing very well in the highland league so it is two very
38:09much informed teams coming up against each other each other and think it could be the tie of the
38:13round yeah a cautious home win I'm going to go for that one listen enough about the weekend let's look
38:19to next friday because that's when the draw for the world cup has been made yes we're all still
38:26buzzing after last tuesday's 4-2 win over denmark but how do you see this going next week Steve
38:36clark is going to be there there's all the the razzmatazz it tends to go with these things some
38:40bewildered former fifa superstar being wheeled out for four hours well well a band performs you know
38:47trump's involved donald trump's involved you know you just just get to the getting the balls out their
38:52pockets let us know who we've got but who do we fancy again any of the kind of host nations
38:56kind
38:57of canada usa mexico i think you would fancy your chances obviously they've got kind of like home
39:01field advantage but those are games you think we can maybe do something european teams and major
39:07international tournaments with all the best of track records against but you could also maybe get
39:12brazil or argentina brazil would have the the parallels to the 1998 world cup and argentina
39:17i mean how good would it be in messi's last world cup if we knock them out of the groups
39:22in the final
39:23group game like john mcginn just leaving one on him yeah i agree with you so how about from from
39:28pot one
39:29we take argentina get a chance to see lionel messi from pot two how about iran you know not exactly
39:36the
39:36the football and powerhouse but we should be giving them a game and then from pot four what about curacao
39:41so one nil victory over curacao beat by iran and then beat argentina but still go out that's
39:47no i know you know i mean there's the opportunity to to play all over the united states there's canada
39:54mexico whereabouts do we want to be if you had to pick from where the games are being distributed
40:00scotland playing azteca that is the i think that's that that's the one that's mexico that's
40:06mexico yeah sorry the best will say that's the stadium i'm just happy to be there wherever scotland
40:10are i will do my best to get out there and and watch me it's a fantastic opportunity i've seen
40:16something on online recently where it was uh it was a yank account and referred to as getting scotland
40:23in their group as a cupcake oh that's annoyed me and yeah they've said it because scotland are an
40:29easier team to to face all right we invented we invented the game how dare you the draw's going
40:37to be made at five o'clock next friday you guys will be watching it oh absolutely yeah yeah it's
40:43it's it's it's one of those once you've started once you've qualified and the excitement of
40:46qualifying for world cup now you've got loads of things that you take off in the build up to
40:51the world cup so it starts it starts with the draw and then you've got like the second album and
40:56then just like just all the build up with the adverts and stuff like that is uh but this is
40:59this
41:00is the main one this is if this is something you should get really excited about right let's finish
41:05up this episode by looking at the results from a little game known as the banker and after last week
41:15the results look a little bit like this sean mcguigan correctly predicted that inverness caledonian
41:20thistle would be queen of the south but thanks to wins for rangers and hibernian i win at the midway
41:28stage i'm taking home the eamon brophy lone wolf trophy and you got the confetti cannons there that you can
41:38no no it's i mean that's that's a nothing victory i get to take up the road with me it
41:43becomes the
41:44centerpiece of the house over the festive period that in itself is as good as winning it at the end
41:49of the
41:49season to get its own seat at the table people think that you're bringing them a gift it's like
41:52oh you shouldn't have it's no this is hey this is very much for me uh but yes i i
41:58can't can't wait
41:58to take home it's been great fun playing with you and and the rest of the gang it's just that
42:02i'm
42:03better at guessing the outcome of games in the first half of the season well that's the final show of
42:082025 we will of course be back next year but before we go i want to know what do you
42:13guys want for
42:14christmas it's but four weeks away joel sked what can santa claus bring you i want everything
42:21hearts to be hearts to be top comfortably so celtic and rangers to continue to be at the social mesh
42:26and i aberdeen to hips just to continue to lose what were you fowler i'll take joel's present as
42:30well that's very good very good i you know something you're you're talking about your own
42:35teams and hope that success continues i am going for my rivals and hoping their success stops completely
42:40folk at football club they've had it too good for too long you know all this back-to-back league
42:44titles competing to get into europe next season it has to stop no no something dreadful to befall
