00:38Adam, you've been working on the Arkham games since the very beginning, pretty much.
00:41Yeah, since the beginning. My first day was the day we started Arkham Asylum, bizarrely.
00:46So, you are in charge of, essentially, all of Batman's movement and controls in all of the Arkham games.
00:51Yeah, that's right. All of Batman's gadgets, movement, gliding, navigation, that stuff. And, obviously, in this game, the Batmobile as
00:57well, so.
00:57So, if anyone has ever thought that the Arkham games had great controls, you're the guy they should be sending

01:05Adam Doherty, Player Code Director, is absolutely the best person to take us on a glide-through of next-gen
01:10Gotham City.
01:11So, Adam, why don't you take it away?
01:13Okay, so we're starting out here on the top of Prime Minister Studios. You can see the whole of Gotham
01:17skyline in the background.
01:19But let's just jump straight in. You can dive straight into the dive boost, which is one little new feature
01:24that I find really nice.
01:25And this is much faster than you can in Arkham City as well.
01:27Much faster. We've got diving from much, much bigger heights, so you get a lot more speed up.
01:32You can keep that glide going really fast.
01:34I'm going to the Chinatown area here.
01:39This is one of my favourite parts of this island.
01:41You've got that neon reflecting off wet asphalt.
01:45All the ambient lighting that the team has worked so hard to bring.
01:48There we go, we've got...
01:49All right, riot time!
01:50There's people just writing. There's a guy chucking stuff at a window.
01:53That man doesn't like that.
01:54He's here to protect his city, so...
01:56They are just terrified of the Dark Knight.
01:59Oh, brand new move, the special combo Backlore!
02:03Vaulting over there, nice!
02:09Throw counter, classic new move.
02:11So these fights can go in any number of ways.
02:14We've got maybe about 30 thugs here.
02:17These guys are just minding their own business.
02:19Batman rolls in, fists of justice.
02:22Yeah! Oh, and the slam! Nice!
02:24So if you pick up a downed enemy, when he's already KO'd,
02:28the big guy's going to give him a little slam.
02:30And what are we finishing with? A beatdown!
02:32With the wall takedown.
02:34We saw there that we kind of came in really hard.
02:36You can get all sorts of stuff.
02:37You can get big, big fights in the middle of the city.
02:40But let's just call in the Batmobile.
02:42Let's see, it'll just come from wherever it is, come and pick you up.
02:46Nice little burnout at the start here.
02:47I can't resist doing that.
02:48And we're off into a boost.
02:53Okay, well, one thing I like to do is
02:55you can use the speed of the Batmobile to really get a massive glide off.
03:00Retain all that forward momentum and get a massive height off that.
03:04So if you want to go fast or high in a glide,
03:06the best way to do it is to cook the afterburner in the Batmobile.
03:10That's right, use that awesome power and jump yourself up into the sky.
03:14I'll show you another new move we have here, which is like a 180 grapple boost.
03:18That's right.
03:18So flip 180, keep on going.
03:20For changing direction quickly, right?
03:21You see something you want to see, hit that reverse grapple.
03:25Okay, so we're going to GCPD now?
03:27Yeah, let's check out GCPD.
03:29We're going to the Batmobile again.
03:33You can see all those rioters, they're pretty terrified of the Batmobile.
03:36It's a, it's a terrifying car, right?
03:38It's a big machine, it is.
03:38And we built it to be that way, and Batman built it to be that way.
03:41It's as much of a symbol as he is, right?
03:43Yeah, so here we are down into GCPD.
03:46This is the big sort of secure lock-up car park.
03:49So this is where the GCPD themselves are hunkered down for the events of Arkham Knight, right?
03:54That's right.
03:54This is kind of the last stronghold they still have in the city.
03:57They've basically lost control of the streets, there's rioting and thugs everywhere.
04:00Let's head straight into the holding cells.
04:03So here we are in the GCPD lock-up, over the night.
04:06You'll see all the villains you catch, all the criminals you catch start to turn up here.
04:11So these guys, taken out earlier.
04:15More of them in here.
04:17I recognise this guy.
04:18So this is the guy who's featured in the Officer Down trailer, right?
04:21That's right.
04:21Ooh, shouldn't have messed with the Batman.

04:47Ian, what's new with Detective Mode?
04:49Detective Mode has been totally overhauled for Arkham Knight.
04:52It's now been incorporated into the Batmobile as well as Batman's cowl.
04:55The Batmobile has got a forensic scanner which Batman can use to track enemy tyre
04:59trails through the city.
05:00He can then follow them in the Batmobile, send out these pulses and take down the people inside.
05:05And bring them to justice.
05:07Next question comes from Lewis0117 who asks,
05:11have all the main villains been announced or is there plenty of surprises still awaiting?
05:15We've announced a lot so far.
05:16We've got Harley.
05:17Riddler.
05:18Penguin.
05:19Two-Face.
05:20Poison Ivy.
05:21Firefly.
05:22Scarecrow.
05:22Arkham Knight.
05:24There's still a lot more to come.

05:28Next question from DC Dat Kid asks, will Arkham Knight's story be the longest one ever made?
05:33This is the longest Arkham game we've ever made.
05:35The main story is longer than anything we've done before.
05:38The side stories are bigger.
05:40The whole production value is bigger.
05:41We've worked on it for like almost four years now.
05:43It's the biggest thing we've ever made.
