00:47Hey, hey, Phoebe and Jay.
00:50Come on.
00:51Hey, hey, Phoebe and Jay.
00:54Come on.
00:55Let's get together.

00:58Come on.
00:59Everything's better when hanging out with Phoebe and Jay.
01:04Hey, hey.
01:05Phoebe and Jay.
01:06Woo.
01:07Come on.
01:07Hey, hey.
01:08Phoebe and Jay.
01:11Hey.
01:17Phoebe and Jay.
01:27I'll draw a crayon on this cup and put all my crayons in here.
01:32I'll draw a marker on this cup and put my markers in here.
01:36And I'll draw a pencil on this cup and put my pencils in here.
01:41Hey, hey, hey.
01:43Great job making those labels to sort your supplies.
01:45Now you'll know where to find what you need.
01:47We made labels for sorting, too.
01:50It's my three special playlists.
01:53These music notes mean songs for singing.
01:56This dancing lady's for dance songs.
01:58And this bed emoji is for songs that help me go to sleep.
02:02Cool.
02:03With our labels, you can find your songs and I can find my drawing stuff.
02:08And right now, I want to hear a dance song.
02:11Dance party time.
02:13Dance party time.
02:24Oh, oh.
02:25Hold up.
02:26Got to answer the door.
02:30Hi, Yalbus.
02:33What y'all know about Funk?
02:35Mr. Ellis.
02:37Hi.
02:38Good morning, Mr. Ellis.
02:40Always a good time when coworkers stop by.
02:42Wish I could join the dance party, but I need some help in the rainbow room.
02:47Can you help me, Pete?
02:48Yes, sir.
02:49Kids, want to go on a rainbow room adventure?
02:52Woo-hoo!
02:53Look at that disco ball.
02:56That silly thing stopped doing the spinning lights show.
02:59Let me fix that right quick.
03:00I do it myself, but I don't like getting on ladders anymore.
03:04So I asked your dad to do that stuff.
03:07Why's your two belts sagging like this, son?
03:09Fix yourself.
03:11Oh.
03:13Yes, sir.
03:14I got it.
03:16Dad, you said this was going to be a rainbow room adventure.
03:19What are we supposed to do?
03:21Why don't you explore a bit?
03:23That is, if Mr. Ellis doesn't mind keeping an eye on you.
03:26Happy to watch the youngins.
03:28Let's see what we can find.
03:40Topsy's Reels.
03:43Topsy's Reels?
03:45What are these?
03:47Topsy?
03:48Like the statue?
03:50Topsy isn't just a statue.
03:52He was the person who built these towers.
03:55That's why they're called Topsy Towers.
03:57We gotta let him know that his boxes are in here.
04:00Can we call him to come get them?
04:02Well, he was alive a long time ago and he's passed on now.
04:07I knew him when I was just about your age.
04:10And when I look at this place, I can remember all about him.
04:14Yeah, our mom's not alive anymore.
04:17But I like to put on her jacket so I can remember her too.
04:21That's sweet, Phoebe.
04:23I like to listen to Topsy's Reels.
04:26That way I can still hear all about him.
04:29Cool.
04:30But what's a Reel?
04:32Hmm.
04:33This is a Reel.
04:35They were a way to record and listen to stuff before people could record on phones or tablets.
04:41Topsy loved sharing things that were important to him with the community.
04:45So he recorded lots of stuff on these Reels.
04:48Like what?
04:49Like what?
04:50He would record his favorite music, sounds from the places he visited from all over the world,
04:56and his ideas for amazing inventions.
04:59That means that he thought up things that no one else had thought of before and made them.
05:06Cool.
05:06Which Reels are the inventions ones?
05:08Well, I don't know.
05:11We'll have to listen so we can figure that out.
05:13That okay with you, Pete?
05:15Uh, sure thing.
05:17Yay!
05:18Jarvis, let's get listening.
05:21This is the Reel to Reel player.
05:23What used to play those Reels?
05:26Hmm.
05:27Where do you plug in your headphones?
05:29No headphones, just speakers.
05:31Now, let's see what's on these Reels.
05:41Wow!
05:42This sounds cool!
05:43Brr-rap, brr-rap, brr-rap.
05:46That instrument making that music is called a saxophone.
05:50You sound just like it, Phoebe.
05:52Now, let's see what else we can listen to.
05:55Can you hand me another Reel, Jay?
06:03This music is coming from an instrument called a flute.
06:07I love it!
06:09T-t-t!
06:10So all these Reels have different kinds of music on them.
06:13Well, I don't know if all of them have music.
06:16Topsy also recorded sounds from the place he visited and his ideas for inventions.
06:22Oh, yeah!
06:23Let's keep listening.
06:26Bonjour.
06:27Excusez-moi.
06:28Où est le café?
06:28This is different than the other ones.
06:31It's not music.
06:33I can hear people walking and talking.
06:36But what are they saying?
06:38That language is French.
06:40Oh!
06:41So what's this recording about?
06:43Will the label tell us?
06:45It looks like Topsy wrote the word France right here.
06:49France is a country far away from here.
06:52And the people who live there speak French.
06:54Another country?
06:56Did those sounds come from there?
06:58They sure did.
06:59And look.
07:00This label has a plane.
07:02You get on an airplane when you need to go somewhere far away.
07:06Hey, look!
07:08There's music notes on these labels.
07:10And these two Reels were the ones with music on them.
07:14So the music notes mean music Reels.
07:16And the airplane means places Topsy visited.
07:19This one has a star sticker label.
07:22Let's listen to figure out what it means.
07:25Hello there.
07:26Topsy here.
07:27Our organ player moved away.
07:29So I made a new organ that plays all by itself.
07:32A self-playing organ.
07:34Just hit the button on the side of the organ.
07:36The organ can play by itself?
07:39That's one of his inventions?
07:40You'll have to hit the button and find out.
07:43It's right over there.
07:53It is playing all by itself.
07:56This star label must mean inventions.
07:58I don't want to hear about all the inventions.
08:01I bet there's cool stuff all over the towers.
08:10But it's going to take forever to listen to all the Reels to find the invention ones.
08:18We can sort them by looking at the labels and put all the Reels with the same picture label together.
08:24Now that's some good thinking.
08:27We're ready to sort now.
08:29I drew music notes on this box so we can put the music Reels in here.
08:34Then I drew an airplane on this box for the Reels recorded on Topsy's airplane trips to special places.
08:40And we put a star on this box for the invention Reels.
08:44You got some smart kids over here, Pete.
08:46I sure do.
09:07One last reel to sort.
09:09Wait.
09:10Wait, wait, wait.
09:11Look at the label.
09:12It has a music sticker and a star sticker.
09:15Ooh.
09:16Two labels.
09:18We gotta listen to figure out what it is.
09:21Can I put it on the Reel player thingy?
09:23I want to do it.
09:25I want to do it, too.
09:29Whoopsie.
09:31Sorry.
09:32Okay, now.
09:33What happened?
09:35We were sorting the Reels so that we could know which ones were which.
09:38And then we found this super special one.
09:41And we both wanted to put it on the player.
09:44So we both grabbed it, but then we knocked it over.
09:48What if the player is broken and we never get to hear this special recording?
09:52I know exactly how to fix this.
09:55Can you help me, Pete?
09:56Of course.
09:57We can help, Mr. Ellis.
10:01This will just take a second.
10:08All done.
10:11Now, do you think you can both work together to carefully put the Reel in the player?
10:16Yes, sir.
10:20Now, you click this part in here.
10:23Pull this over here.
10:24And click this in there.
10:27Hello.
10:28Tabsy here.
10:29And this recording is about the secrets to all my inventions.
10:34The secret to every single one of my inventions is...
10:38A little bit of wonder.
10:44There's wonder all around you if you listen.
10:49There's wonder all around you if you look.
10:53He's talking about an invention.
10:55And there's music!
10:57That's why there was music and a star on the label!
11:02Dad fixed the disco ball!
11:04There's wonder in your mind.
11:07Or in your tools.
11:08Or in a book.
11:09With a little bit of patience.
11:11And a lot of imagination.
11:14You'll find the wonder all around you.
11:25Thanks for listening.
11:27I hope your day is as magical as you are.
11:31Okay, I know just about everything about these towers.
11:34But I did not know about this reel.
11:37Incredible!
11:38Tabsy likes to sing.
11:40Like me!
11:41And I like to wonder about things.
11:43Just like he does.
11:45I wonder what else we can learn from him.
11:47Well, it's a good thing we have these boxes labeled and sorted so we can learn more whenever we want.
11:53Let's put this reel in the invention box.
11:58Then can we listen to another song?
12:01Of course, baby girl!
12:03Which one has the songs?
12:06The box with the music note!
12:08I bet there's gonna be some great songs in there!
12:12Let's get listening!
12:15And now, everybody exploring!
12:17Come on!
12:21Signs in the park are there for me and you.
12:25Letting us know what we can and cannot do.
12:28That sign says no skateboarding.
12:30That means I can't skateboard here.
12:33Can't do that.
12:34So I can't do that.
12:35Can't do that.
12:36I can't do that.
12:37That's right.
12:37A red circle with a line through it means you can't do something.
12:40But if you see a sign like this...
12:42That means I can skateboard here.
12:45Yeah!
12:45You can do that.
12:46Wow!
12:47She can skateboard!
12:48Look at her go!
12:49And if you're feeling hungry but you see a sign that says no food in this area with a red
12:53circle and a line through it,
12:55that means you can't eat here.
12:56So you can't do that.
12:58No, I can't do that.
13:00But if you see a sign that looks like this, you can eat here.
13:04Yes, I can do that.
13:06And if you're feeling like you want to dance but you see a sign that says no loud music with
13:10a red circle and a line through it,
13:12that means you can't play loud music here.
13:15So you can't do that.
13:17You can't do that.
13:18But if you see a sign like this, turn up the music and dance, dance, dance.
13:22Wow, y'all can dance.
13:24Alright, get it y'all.
13:26Y'all better cool down after all that dancing.
13:28Mmm, looks like yummy ice cream.
13:30But wait, there's one more sign.
13:32What?
13:33So you can't do that.
13:34No ice cream.
13:36Just kidding.
13:37You can have ice cream.
13:39Thank goodness we can do that.
13:51I'm so excited.
13:53It's my first Tomsy Towers potluck tonight.
13:56Me too.
13:57It's one of my favorite Tomsy traditions.
14:00Everyone always brings such tasty food to share.
14:02Mmm.
14:03I'm making my famous potato salad.
14:07Hello.
14:10Potato salad?
14:12I can't wait.
14:14It's gonna be a perfect potluck party.
14:16A perfect potluck party.
14:18Excuse me, Miss Jean.
14:19What are you bringing to the potluck?
14:21I'm bringing my not so famous but super delicious potato salad.
14:32Uh, you're bringing what now?
14:34Potato salad.
14:36Mine's delicious.
14:37Is that so?
14:39Cause I'm bringing potato salad too.
14:41And mine is delicious too.
14:44Well, whose do you think will be more delicious?
14:47Pete?
14:48Uh, uh, I think I hear, uh, light bulb burning out.
14:54I better go change it.
14:55Bye.
15:00Hey, is that a new neighbor?
15:02New neighbor?
15:03We have to meet him.
15:05Oh, that's Mr. Marsden.
15:07He's lived here longer than I have.
15:09Hey there, Mr. Marsden.
15:10Will we see you at the potluck tonight?
15:12I'm afraid not.
15:13Sorry.
15:14He's never joined the potluck.
15:16Even once.
15:17I wonder why.
15:19Maybe that's just cause we haven't invited him yet.
15:22Come on, Jay.
15:25Hi, Mr. Marsden.
15:27I'm Phoebe.
15:28And this is Jay.
15:30Where are your neighbors?
15:31Well, hi there.
15:32All the Chobsy neighbors are going to be at the potluck today.
15:37Will you come?
15:38Oh, you're sweet to ask, but I never go to the potluck.
15:47Why doesn't Mr. Marsden want to come to the potluck?
15:50Well, maybe potlucks just aren't his thing.
15:53And that's okay.
15:54You're probably right.
15:56Anyhow, we have my delicious potato salad to make.
16:00Later, Miss Jean.
16:01Bye.
16:06Let's get started.
16:07Can you pass me the jar of spicy pickles, please?
16:10It's my secret ingredient.
16:14Whoa.
16:15There's a picture of fire on this jar.
16:17That symbol shows us that the pickles are fiery hot,
16:21which is another way to say they're spicy.
16:24Ooh, pickles.
16:25I can use a snack.
16:29Ooh!
16:29Ooh!
16:30Ooh!
16:30Spicy!
16:31Ah!
16:31Ooh!
16:32Ooh!
16:33You can't handle spicy stuff, boy.
16:35Quick, drink some milk.
16:37Ooh!
16:40Ooh!
16:41Ooh!
16:42Thanks, Mama.
16:43If I saw the spicy symbol on the jar, I wouldn't have eaten that pickle.
16:48Phoebe Sugar, can you bring me that bowl of hard-boiled eggs?
16:53You're putting eggs in there?
16:55I thought potato salad only had potatoes in it.
16:58All sorts of things go into making a yummy dish.
17:02We should call it potato, egg, and spicy pickle salad.
17:06That way people know it's in it right away.
17:08That's what food labels are for.
17:10These food labels tell you about what's in it.
17:13The ingredients.
17:15Some labels, like the fiery pepper,
17:17quickly let people know these pickles are spicy.
17:21Anyone who doesn't like spice knows to stay away.
17:25Jay Baby, pass me the mayonnaise.
17:29There's a little picture of eggs on the mayo jar.
17:32Does that mean there's eggs and mayonnaise?
17:35You got it.
17:36Some folks can't eat eggs.
17:38So that picture lets them know there are eggs in it.
17:41But I like eggs.
17:43Why wouldn't somebody want to eat eggs?
17:46They might be allergic to them.
17:48When someone eats something they're allergic to,
17:50it can make their bodies itchy or swollen or even really sick.
17:54Oh, that's like how a kid in our class is allergic to peanuts.
17:58We can't bring anything with peanuts to school.
18:02Or they might get sick.
18:04Exactly.
18:05Eggs and peanuts are pretty common allergies.
18:08Ooh, the potato salad is looking good so far.
18:11We just need some crackers to crumble on top for that extra oomph.
18:15I know where they are.
18:19There's a little picture on the crackers too.
18:21Is that a feather?
18:24Uh, that symbol's for wheat.
18:26It has a line through it.
18:28Does that mean there's no wheat in these crackers?
18:31Yep.
18:32No gluten to be specific.
18:33Gluten is in wheat.
18:35Some people are allergic to that too.
18:37Look, there's also a crossed out peanut on the box.
18:41There are no peanuts in the crackers either.
18:44Those little pictures can tell you what's not in a food too.
18:48And then people with allergies know it's safe.
18:51Hmm.
18:52That's pretty helpful.
18:53Like me.
18:54You sure are helpful, baby.
18:56And now the potato salad is complete.
19:01I'm a-coming for you, Miss Jean.
19:04And your bird.
19:05Ha, ha, ha, ha.
19:07Aren't you excited for the potluck?
19:11I just remembered that Mr. Marston doesn't want to go.
19:14I wonder why.
19:16What if he's throwing a secret potluck just for himself?
19:20Or what if he doesn't like us?
19:24Daddy, can me and Jay go talk to Mr. Marston again?
19:28Please?
19:29Please?
19:31All right.
19:32So long as you're kind about it.
19:34I need to finish setting up the lobby.
19:36I'll walk you down.
19:40There he is!
19:43Mr. Marston.
19:45So, the potluck.
19:48Oh, I appreciate the invitation,
19:51but there's nothing there I can eat.
19:53Have fun though.
19:55But what do you mean there's nothing you can eat?
19:57There's gonna be lots of food.
19:59Well, I have lots of food allergies.
20:02I can't eat eggs, wheat, or peanuts.
20:05Um, could you get the button for me, please?
20:10Sure thing.
20:19You don't have to eat that stuff, Mr. Marston.
20:23At a potluck, people make their own dishes.
20:26And it's hard to know if there's something I'm allergic to in them.
20:29Plus, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by not eating their food.
20:34So, I just stay home.
20:35But, I hope you have a great time.
20:38At least now we know why Mr. Marston doesn't want to go.
20:42Yeah, but that makes me feel sad.
20:44He's missing the fun just because he doesn't know what's in the food.
20:49What if we make labels for the food at the potluck?
20:53Like the ones on the pickles, and the mayo, and the crackers?
20:57That's a great idea.
20:59That way, Mr. Marston will know what's in the foods, and if he can eat them.
21:04We'll draw our labels on sticky notes, so all the neighbors can stick them to their dishes.
21:10Let's start by making labels for Grandma's potato salad.
21:15There are eggs.
21:17I will draw an egg.
21:20Oh, and spicy pickles.
21:22Don't forget about those.
21:24I'll draw a fiery pepper.
21:27There.
21:28Grandma's potato salad is all labeled.
21:31We'll need a lot more for the other neighbors.
21:34Let's hurry.
21:35Eggs.
21:36Spicy pepper.
21:38Peanuts.
21:40No peanuts.
21:41And no wheat.
21:44I hope we made enough labels.
21:47Only one way to find out.
21:51Hey, everybody!
21:52Come get labels for your food!
21:55It shows what's in it!
22:04Nice job, Jay.
22:06There's just one more thing we have to do.
22:11We made labels for all of the food at the potlucks, so you know what you can eat.
22:16And it would be really great if you could come.
22:19Wow!
22:20How very thoughtful.
22:22I'm still not sure, but maybe...
22:25I'll think about it.
22:27Hear that, Jay?
22:28He said maybe!
22:40Mr. Marston, you made it!
22:42Well, you kids put a lot of work into making those labels.
22:46I figured I should come check them out.
22:48We'll show you around.
23:12Hehehehe.
23:14Hehehehe.
23:17So, did you figure out how to eat the potluck?
23:19You figure out whose potato salad is the yummiest?
23:22Oh, definitely your grandma Annie's.
23:24It has such a nice kick to it.
23:26Oh, no.
23:27Definitely Miss Jean's.
23:29It's a classic.
23:30Mm-mm.
23:31Rich and creamy.
