00:00On tonight's episode, Corey and Chum uncover a lot of lost inventory.
00:06Do you ever save anything for the pawn shop to sell?
00:08Yes, I do. I take home minimal amount of stuff.
00:11We're about to have an intervention about it right now.
00:13Hey, how do you part with such a stellar item?
00:16So you have a rocket engine?
00:17I do.
00:18It's really cool, right?
00:19And let me guess, you got it from NASA.
00:21No.
00:22And everyone knows how much I flip for this sort of thing.
00:26I love the whole Vegas theme here.
00:27$3,000, I'll take it off your hands.
00:29Deal.
00:30You're going to have a lot of games in a game room, right?
00:31All right, we'll just pretend like we don't see the very, very expensive painting from the pawn shop either.
00:36But the crown jewel of my collection, well, maybe it could use a little more polish.
00:41You like the paint job I did?
00:42I messed up the hood a little bit.
00:43I got to redo that.
00:44But look at 1962 Bahama Blue.
01:02Hey, how's it going?
01:03Good, how are you?
01:04All right, this is pretty interesting, a 7-Up cooler.
01:07Tell me where you got it.
01:08It was in my basement.
01:09My ex-girlfriend left it there a while back when we broke up.
01:12So I figured, bring it in here, see what I can do with it.
01:15Super cool.
01:16I dig that.
01:17That is like super retro.
01:19Thank you, thank you.
01:20So you think the cooler is cool, Pops?
01:21I mean, a matter of fact, I'm feeling cooler right now just looking at it.
01:26All right, I mean, it's a 7-Up aluminum cooler.
01:28I mean, this is pretty old.
01:29Do you have any idea about what year it was made?
01:311950s.
01:32Okay.
01:32You know what 7-Up was originally called?
01:34What?
01:36Bib label lithiated live-in lime soda.
01:39Sounds yummy.
01:40They put this on the can?
01:43Apparently they did.
01:44I mean, a couple years later, they changed it to 7-Up lithiated live-in lime soda.
01:50And then a few years after that, they said, what are we doing?
01:52And they just called it 7-Up.
01:54But no one knows exactly why they started calling it 7-Up.
01:57But there's a bunch of theories.
01:59So why'd they make them out of aluminum back then instead of steel?
02:03They made them out of aluminum because it was kind of cool.
02:05It was like the in thing in the 50s and the 60s.
02:09And it was lightweight.
02:11And also, it doesn't rust.
02:13So it was a better choice for a cooler that was going to be wet all the time.
02:18I mean, it's definitely collectible.
02:20It looks like it's a little rough, man.
02:23It's seen its better days, though.
02:24I mean, what's it going to take to restore this thing?
02:26Not much.
02:27A little polishing, a little paint.
02:29I could probably sell it the way it is.
02:31It really doesn't need to be restored.
02:31And if it was going to be restored, I could do that myself in the garage.
02:34If you take it to your house to restore it, you're going to end up keeping it.
02:38How much do you want for the cooler?
02:40I was looking to sell it for about $400.
02:43No.
02:44Okay.
02:45Okay.
02:46I'll give you $100 for it.
02:49Um, $250?
02:50I'll make it very, very easy.
02:52I'll give you $150 and not a penny more.
02:55All right, let's do $150.
02:57All right, deal.
02:58Thank you so much.
02:59We'll meet you right over there and get you paid.
03:02That's cool.
03:09Hey, guys.
03:11You got some drinks in that cooler?
03:12No drinks in the cooler.
03:13It's got to be tagged to put on a shelf.
03:15All right.
03:16I kind of want to bring it home, though.
03:18You know what?
03:19Put it on a shelf, and I'll think about it.
03:21Hand me my bag.
03:22I got to go.
03:22That's your bag?
03:24Yeah, that's my bag.
03:24It's a little fancy for you.
03:27Where'd you get it?
03:28I think it was just in the back of my closet or something.
03:29Your closet doesn't grow bags.
03:31I forget where I got it.
03:32And I'm pretty sure I bought that and a few others at the event in Phoenix.
03:36It is a vintage leather bag.
03:38I'm sure there's a lot of them out there.
03:46Hello, sir.
03:47How you doing?
03:48I'm doing good.
03:49How are you?
03:50So tell me what you got here.
03:51Well, we got a pretty nice classic Louis Vuitton monogram duffel bag.
03:55Middle here, this is one of my favorite ones.
03:57We got a later 80s, early 90s Christian Dior duffel bag.
04:01Then on this end right here, we got a mid to late 1980s Louis Vuitton epi leather duffel bag.
04:06Okay.
04:07You know, I don't know much about the history of Christian Dior.
04:09I know Louis Vuitton started with the big steamer trunks and stuff like that.
04:12I mean, it's just one of those things where it says, hey, I'm here.
04:15I've arrived.
04:16I'm doing well in life.
04:17And that's kind of, you know, why this stuff is really expensive.
04:21I'll tell you what.
04:22I got my friend Marco here.
04:23Do you mind if I text him real quick and have him come down and take a look at him?
04:25Of course, of course, do you think.
04:29All right, he should be in just a second.
04:30Oh, sounds good.
04:32Marco, what's up, man?
04:33Hey, what's up, Corey?
04:34I got your text.
04:34What's good?
04:35So, tell me what you think.
04:36You have a Louis Vuitton epi leather, which is like the subtle stunt.
04:41You know, if you know, you know.
04:43And if you don't, you got the little LV right there to show you off.
04:47Looks good.
04:48Dior, I love this.
04:49This is Galeano era, so that's like around mid to late 90s.
04:54A lot of people really love Galeano.
04:56And I love this because it's such a big size that it can definitely be either a man or a
05:00woman.
05:00And then, of course, the classic Louis bag.
05:03I mean, this is timeless.
05:04This is the Louis bag where you want people to know, like, hey, I made it.
05:08So, looks good.
05:09It's got a little wear on the handles, but that's where you want the wear because it shows
05:13it was used.
05:14Let's see how the inside is.
05:16Got both zippers.
05:17Got the serial numbers made in France.
05:20Everything looks great.
05:22So, what do you think they're worth?
05:24I would say $700 for the epi, $700 for the Dior, and because it needs a little bit of TLC,
05:31$500 for the monogram Louis.
05:33Okay.
05:33Well, I appreciate you, man.
05:35All right, man.
05:35Let me know if you grab them.
05:36All right.
05:38What are you thinking for all three?
05:39$2,200 for everything.
05:40$2,200.
05:41Okay.
05:41So, I'm not there.
05:43I'm at $1,500 for all three.
05:45$1,650.
05:45I'm out of your hair.
05:46All right.
05:47Sounds good, man.
05:48Take them over there.
05:49They'll write you up.
05:49Pleasure.
05:50Pleasure.
05:50Nice meeting you, Corey.
05:51You too, buddy.
05:52Anyway, I'm thinking, guys, my house, this weekend, barbecue.
05:56We'll just hang out by the pool.
05:58How's that sound?
05:59I just bought a new floaty.
06:00I'll definitely come.
06:01So, what are we eating?
06:02We'll do hamburgers, maybe some hot dogs, potato salad.
06:04Maybe some rib-eye?
06:05No.
06:05Potato salad, macaroni salad, just the standard stuff.
06:08I want something expensive.
06:09I have extravagant flavor buds.
06:14Just, like, show up for the barbecue, guys.
06:16Can we at least have cheeseburgers?
06:17I'll get cheese.
06:18All right.
06:19Talk to you guys later.
06:20I get to go home early.
06:40What up?
06:41I brought a watermelon.
06:42Can you give me some help?
06:43Sure.
06:44What's up with Mike?
06:46Oh, I picked it up.
06:47I thought it'd be fun when I have people over the house.
06:49Let me be parties and stuff like that so I can greet people.
06:52I mean, it's pretty cool, but I remember buying that.
06:57You bought that?
06:58Yeah, with the pawn shop's money.
07:09So what do you have here?
07:10Well, it's a life-size of Mike and Soli from Monsters, Inc.
07:14Well, I didn't need the nameplates to know that.
07:16So they're pretty cool.
07:17I mean, right away, we obviously know the movie Monsters, Inc.
07:212001 is when this movie came out.
07:23Mike and Soli were two monsters.
07:25Basically, they were part of the power company with a bunch of other monsters,
07:29and they had to scare the kids to create the power for the city.
07:32And as the movie progresses, they realize they can produce more power by making the kids laugh.
07:38So it has a good moral value in it.
07:40But they don't look like they fit under the bed.
07:43Definitely not.
07:45So where did you get them?
07:46Well, my husband bought them from somebody who had them for their playroom,
07:50but I don't have room for them, so I need to sell them.
07:54I really love the mic, but Soli's really cool because he's, like, covered in fur,
07:58and when you touch him, it's just...
07:59Soft.
07:59It's really soft.
08:00I actually think that he smiles kind of like you, Chumlee.
08:03He is alarmingly attractive.
08:05What can I say?
08:07It's funny to think that this is a Steve Jobs movie, right?
08:10Most people don't even realize that.
08:12Pixar was created by Steve Jobs,
08:14and he actually had this idea to bring these characters from the movie to life,
08:18so called up a company named Idea Planet,
08:21and this is the kind of stuff they came up with.
08:24These ones probably don't talk, I don't think,
08:26but they did have some models that you could actually interact with.
08:29Pretty cool.
08:31So how much are you looking to get for these?
08:33I was hoping for $4,000 for the pair.
08:35Okay.
08:36There is a market of these selling,
08:38and the last Soli sold for around $2,500,
08:41and the last Mike sold for around $700.
08:45Okay.
08:46Would you take $2,000 for them?
08:48Could you do $2,500?
08:50I'm really firm at $2,000.
08:52I was thinking about offering you $1,500,
08:54but I figured, like, I'd kind of do one of them,
08:56so I was just coming in with my solid price.
08:59Well, because of the likeness between you two,
09:01I think I'll do that.
09:02Looks like I got a new buddy.
09:05You're welcome.
09:06You can go to the counter right there,
09:07and they'll get you paid.
09:08All right, thank you.
09:10Pretty cute.
09:12Speaking of cute, should we go swimming?
09:14I brought my own towel.
09:15Oh, I didn't think you'd have clean ones.
09:17Looks like you're going to do a lot of floating.
09:18Yeah, I am.
09:24I really like what you've done with the place, Rick.
09:28You know, I mean, I've had the place for a couple years.
09:29I'm just trying to make it more Rick-ish.
09:31That's a little alarming, I got to admit.
09:44What's up, big hoss?
09:46What's up, boss?
09:47I brought chips and buns.
09:48OK.
09:49Corey, I got to give it to your dad.
09:50He's doing a lot better with his decorating skills these days.
09:53The house is actually coming together.
09:55Especially love the wasp woman.
09:57It goes perfect in the house.
09:58Pawn shop motif, I guess?
10:01Um, well, no.
10:02I mean, just...
10:03I thought it was really amazing, so I framed it up and put it on the wall.
10:06Wait, you're telling me that's from the punch-up?
10:08And so is that.
10:14What do we have here?
10:15Three movie posters from the 1950s.
10:17These are amazing.
10:18Corey, come and check this out.
10:20What's up?
10:21Really cool posters from really bad movies.
10:23This is incredible.
10:25I mean, this is classic mid to late 1950s, super inexpensive horror flex.
10:30OK, so you're telling me people are paid to go see Wasp Woman?
10:33Yes.
10:34Um, I think they're amazing.
10:37How much do you want for them?
10:38I was thinking $7,500.
10:40OK, this is kind of a specialized weird thing.
10:43Some of this stuff was re-released in the 60s,
10:46so we have to find out if these are the original ones from the 50s or if they're from the
10:5060s.
10:51But my buddy Andy is actually helping me out here today.
10:55He does old posters, so he'll probably know everything about them.
10:59Let me go find them.
11:00OK.
11:00Be right back.
11:02No kidding.
11:03This is an incredible collection.
11:05Wasp Woman, Bride of the Monster, and the Astounding She Monster.
11:09That's fantastic, too.
11:12So all of these appear to be, you know, mid to late 50s from the Changes era,
11:16which comes right after the golden era of film.
11:19It's basically the movie theaters doing everything they can to compete with television.
11:23And all of these are quintessential of that time period.
11:26OK, so are these the original posters?
11:28They're not reprints?
11:29These look authentic to me.
11:30I'm so thrilled to see them in person.
11:35OK.
11:35What are they worth?
11:37Honestly, Rick, I think as a group, there's more value.
11:40It's an instant collection.
11:41So I would think you have $6,500 worth of posters sitting here as a collection.
11:45OK.
11:46Yeah, his price isn't terrifying.
11:47OK.
11:48Is it not astounding?
11:52All right, well, thanks, man.
11:53Happy hug.
11:53Anytime.
11:54Take care.
11:54See you.
11:55Thank you very much.
11:56Yeah, my pleasure.
11:57OK.
11:58So you heard from him.
11:59He thinks it's worth like $6,500.
12:01And if I do buy them off you, I've got to invest more money because I've got to put frames.
12:04And that stuff's not cheap, especially for something like that.
12:08But I'd give you $4,000 for them.
12:10Can't go that low.
12:11Could you do $6,000?
12:14No.
12:15I'll make it short and simple.
12:17I'll go $4,500, not a penny more.
12:20All right, I'll do $4,500.
12:21All right, sweet.
12:22We got a deal, man.
12:23You want to bring them up front?
12:24Yeah, maybe right over there, man.
12:27So there's one, two.
12:29Where's the third?
12:29Because you obviously have the third somewhere.
12:31That's in Oregon.
12:34That's the ranch.
12:34Do you ever save anything for the pawn shop to sell?
12:37Yes, I do.
12:38Not everything in here and on the walls is from the shop.
12:42I specifically remember Blondie over there coming in a huge rock and roll collection.
12:49Hey, Rick.
12:50How are you doing?
12:51Hey, you must be Richard.
12:52That's me.
12:53And you have the hard rock collection.
12:55I sure do.
12:56They're all in the back.
12:57Come on, follow me.
12:57I'll show them.
12:58I mean, and you got all the photos?
13:00I do.
13:00So here it is.
13:02Whoa.
13:02That's absolutely amazing.
13:04Deborah Harry.
13:05Absolutely.
13:06Blondie.
13:06Is that Michael Jackson playing basketball as a little kid?
13:09Absolutely.
13:10These are unpublished, limited edition prints by Neil Preston.
13:14And yeah, the hard rock got their hands on it.
13:16It's amazing.
13:17I mean, it's just incredible.
13:19So you acquired all this from the hard rock?
13:21I did.
13:21I have 50 pieces.
13:23And how much do you want?
13:24I want $150,000 for them.
13:28Okay.
13:29This is a lot of money.
13:30I want to call some money down to take a look at these and just make sure everything's legit.
13:41So, um, the hard rock collection.
13:44He wants $150,000 for 50 pieces.
13:49This is probably the most incredible stuff right here.
13:52What do you think?
13:53$150,000 is a lot of money on one hand.
13:57On the other hand, I mean, have you ever seen anything like that of Michael Jackson before?
14:02These by themselves could easily be $40,000.
14:05Okay.
14:06So if I buy all of these 50 pieces and I sell them individually, I can probably sell them within
14:13a year?
14:14I'd say that's fair.
14:15How much do you think I'll get retail?
14:16$200,000.
14:18Okay.
14:19Maybe I'll pick up a piece off of you.
14:20It's fantastic.
14:21Thanks, man.
14:22Congratulations on the collection.
14:23It's really cool.
14:24Thank you so much.
14:26So you've been in the art business for a while?
14:28I have.
14:29Okay.
14:29There's not a gallery in the world that would pay $150,000 for $200,000 worth of art that's going
14:35to take them a year to sell.
14:36So this figure should be right around $90,000.
14:40Let's come up to $130,000.
14:42The most of the stuff I've got to reframe.
14:44$95,000?
14:46How about $100,000?
14:51Well, I guess I'm going to pay you $100,000 then.
14:53Thank you so much.
14:54I'm going to go call my shop.
14:55I'm going to get the van down here.
14:57I'll get you paid.
14:58Great.
14:59Thanks a lot, man.
15:00I really appreciate it.
15:01You're very welcome, Rick.
15:02This is incredible.
15:03Now the only hard part is not taking it all home and putting it on my walls.
15:08Aren't you a little old for girls you had a crush on to be hanging them on your wall?
15:12Are we going to have a barbecue or what?
15:13I am pretty hungry.
15:14Let's put some stuff on the grill.
15:16All right.
15:38Well, guys, I got burgers.
15:40I got some ribs.
15:42I got, like, chips and some salsa.
15:44What's up with the duck?
15:47It's an old duck, and it's antique, and I think it's really cool.
15:50Obviously, it's from the pawn shop.
15:56Hey, how's it going?
15:57What do we have?
15:58We have a pottery duck from Kalima, Mexico.
16:01All right.
16:01Pops, you know anything about ducks from Kalima, Mexico?
16:05A little bit.
16:06You liked rubber duckies when you were a kid.
16:09Filled the bathtub up with them.
16:10He had a blast with them when he was, like, three.
16:14I actually think it's kind of cool.
16:15It looks old.
16:17It looks like the pottery they made, you know, like, a couple thousand years ago.
16:21The indigenous people of Mexico were incredible artists when it came to pottery.
16:25I think it's kind of amazing.
16:27How much are you looking to get out of this?
16:28About 4,000.
16:30Okay.
16:31Um, it's got me intrigued because it could be very, very old.
16:36But it's an incredible condition, which is kind of scary.
16:39I'd like someone to look at it, if you don't mind.
16:42Not at all.
16:42Can you give Bob a call?
16:43I have a friend who will know a lot about this.
16:45All right.
16:47What's up, Bob?
16:47How you doing?
16:48Hi there.
16:48How are you?
16:50That is quite the duck.
16:53Can I take a look at it?
16:55Yeah, go right ahead.
16:58One of the things that I'm noticing, it's got the burnishing lines.
17:01So they would use a stone, and they would polish this extensively before it would go in the kiln.
17:07Got nice manganese blooms.
17:09But I see a repair here.
17:12I see that there are repairs in the body.
17:14They're almost invisible.
17:16So whoever restored this, they did a fabulous job.
17:19So you think this is 100% real?
17:22Yeah, 100% real, 300 B.C. to 300 A.D. ancient.
17:28So what's it worth?
17:29It's authentic, it's old, it's rare, it's stunning.
17:348,000.
17:36Okay.
17:37Well, Bob, I appreciate you coming down.
17:39My pleasure.
17:40So you want 4,000 for it?
17:43Okay, I mean, I'll give you 4, because it does take a long time to sell it.
17:48Okay, awesome.
17:49You want to go ride her up?
17:50Tell me Chip over there.
17:51All right.
17:53And he's going to pay her in $100 bills.
17:58How much did that cost to pawn shop?
18:00But don't you think it's cool?
18:01It's really cool.
18:02I want to put a dollar price on how cool it is.
18:04I thought we were just going to have a barbecue, kick back, go swimming.
18:07We're just enjoying Rick's unofficial museum.
18:10I'm starting to think he pulled a bunch of stuff out, because me and Cory were coming over for a
18:14barbecue,
18:14because you have two random tables over there with two random items on it.
18:19So go ahead, give me the story behind the book, the standalone book over here.
18:23It's obviously a decoration.
18:24No, actually, I was just reading that book last night.
18:26I did not get that in the pawn shop.
18:28So what is the book about?
18:30It's the book about a judge, and he tried witches and stuff like that.
18:34It's got like...
18:35Wait, wait, wait.
18:36I remember you buying a book like this.
18:38I bought it years and years ago.
18:40It was at the pawn shop.
18:46Hey, how can I help you?
18:47Hi.
18:47I have a book for you to look at today.
18:49Okay.
18:50On the Trial of Witches.
18:51On the Trial of Witches?
18:53Printed in London in 1716.
18:56Oh, that's great.
18:57This is about...
18:58About a witch trial in 1662 that later formed the basis of the Salem witch trials in the 1690s.
19:07So how much are we looking to get out of it?
19:08I'm asking $2,500 for the book.
19:11Okay.
19:11I have no idea if that's a good price or not.
19:14Do you mind if I have someone to look at it?
19:16Absolutely.
19:16Would love to.
19:18Hey, Rick.
19:19Rebecca.
19:21So we have a book on witches.
19:23Oh.
19:24Think about it.
19:25If I lived in the 17th century, I would have been called a witch.
19:30Don't cast a spell on me.
19:31So this trial right here was a landmark case because Cotton Mather used this as the authority to say we
19:39will use spectral evidence in the Salem witch trials.
19:43Okay.
19:44So what do you think it's worth?
19:46This is an okay shape.
19:47So you have the rebind, which is not the end of the world.
19:50And then, of course, you have the 1716 imprint here, which tells me, too, this is not the first edition.
19:57This was printed after the Salem witch trials, right?
20:00So that first edition is going to be more desirable because we know that's the edition that influenced the Salem
20:04witch trials.
20:05Correct.
20:06So as far as value goes, I would place this particular copy around $1,500 to $1,600.
20:14Okay.
20:15Okay?
20:15Okay.
20:16Thanks.
20:16You're the best.
20:17You're welcome.
20:18Pleasure.
20:18Nice meeting you.
20:20So what do you want now?
20:22$1,250.
20:24I'll give you $900 for it.
20:26About $1,100.
20:29I'll do $1,000.
20:35Um, all right, I'll do $1,000.
20:36Sweet.
20:37I will meet you right over there.
20:39We'll do some paperwork and I'll get you paid.
20:40All right.
20:41Sounds good.
20:43Well, like, no, but I bought it years ago and I thought it was really, really cool.
20:48You do know that there are other places to get decorations besides your place of employment?
20:53I have a different way of decorating than most.
20:56What is this, an engine for a carburetor or something?
20:59That's, um, a NASA rocket engine.
21:03And let me guess, you got it from NASA?
21:05No.
21:06So you got it from the pawn shop.
21:07Um.
21:13Howdy.
21:14Hey, what have we got here?
21:15I have a rocket engine that was used to train the astronauts before they landed on the moon.
21:21So you have a rocket engine?
21:23I do.
21:25That's really cool.
21:26This right here was a major, major part of NASA.
21:30And it was never really talked about that much.
21:33They had this crazy vehicle.
21:35It simulated the moon's gravity, which is a lot less than ours.
21:40Now, somewhere over here, there was a tank of 90% hydrogen peroxide.
21:44And somewhere past that was probably a nitrogen tank with, like, a few thousand pounds PSI.
21:49And right around here, there was a valve.
21:51And they would open that up and it would shoot hydrogen peroxide down there.
21:55When you have that pure of hydrogen peroxide, it immediately reacts.
21:58Right.
21:59And creating 500 pounds of thrust.
22:02Okay, so right here we have...
22:04That's actually the paperwork that came with this engine that was issued by NASA.
22:09NASA, and it has the vehicle number.
22:12And if you look, the paperwork correlates with this tag.
22:17It's epic.
22:18I'll give you that.
22:20How much do you want for it?
22:22$20,000.
22:24I'll give you $10,000 for it.
22:26I would be hesitant to let it go at that price.
22:29I'll counter with $16,000.
22:32I mean, the thing is, I have no idea what this thing's going to sell for.
22:35I'll take a shot at $11,000.
22:41Congratulations, you've got yourself an artifact.
22:43So we got a deal.
22:44Yeah.
22:45All right, I'll meet you right over there.
22:47We'll do some paperwork and I'll get you paid.
22:49Okay, thank you.
22:50I mean, like I said, conversation piece, and we're having a conversation about it.
22:54We're about to have an intervention about it right now.
22:56Dad, do we really need a NASA rocket thing in your house?
22:59No one knows what that is but you, buddy.
23:01I would say we could sell...
23:02But that's a great conversation piece.
23:04Yeah, because you like to talk a lot, Dad.
23:05That's okay.
23:06I might miss the rocket engine.
23:08You won't miss it when I sell it.
23:10All right, fine.
23:11Let's get the food together.
23:12I'm hungry.
23:13All right, pre-made patties.
23:14Here we come.
23:23What are you doing?
23:24Putting some seasoning on the burgers.
23:27Your dad needs help.
23:28He's seasoning these burgers like they're chicken, steak, and fish.
23:31Yeah, he needs help.
23:32You want to come check out what I found in the garage?
23:33What's in the garage?
23:35Pretty much almost everything that we've been looking for forever.
23:37Just want to come check out the garage real quick?
23:39Hopefully the garage's not as bad as his seasoning skills.
23:42Do people put sediment on hamburgers?
23:47Look at all this stuff.
23:49What's he need a motel sign for?
23:50I'm guessing this motel sign probably came from the shop rig.
23:53Well, remember me in Austin?
23:54Yeah?
23:55Bought an old sign, restored it.
23:57Yeah, it's a sale.
23:59Well, I wanted to make sure it works well.
24:01It's a neon sign.
24:02It's supposed to last for years, right?
24:03All right, yep.
24:04So I'm checking to see if it'll last for years.
24:12Okay, I'm intrigued.
24:13Hi.
24:14Where did you get this?
24:15I bought it at an antique shop.
24:18Apparently it was used in a movie called Hitcher, the remake.
24:22All right.
24:23Creepy movie with a motel.
24:25Yes, of course.
24:26How much do you want for it?
24:29I would like $6,000.
24:31All right.
24:32Let me let my buddy take a look at it.
24:34Okay.
24:35Todd!
24:36All right.
24:38Creepy horror motel sign.
24:39Oh, good.
24:40All right.
24:40What do you think?
24:42This is porcelain, which is a real plus.
24:45Porcelain signs are really desirable,
24:47and it needs to be cleaned up, polished,
24:50new hardware, new neon, transformer.
24:53In its current condition, I'd say it's worth $5,000 all day long.
24:57Okay, how much would the new neon and, like, cleaning it up cost me?
25:00It would be about $2,500 to get it looking really nice.
25:04All right.
25:04So I got to make money.
25:06Yes, I know.
25:06Okay.
25:07Will you take $3,000 for it?
25:09I would take $3,000 for it.
25:11We got a deal.
25:12$3,000.
25:12Just go right inside, and they'll get you paid.
25:15Perfect.
25:21Todd!
25:21Good to see you, buddy.
25:22You got some cool stuff in here.
25:24This is my art.
25:25But my new popular piece is right behind you here,
25:28and I can't wait to show it to you.
25:29I love it.
25:30So, ta-da!
25:31It's got horror flick written all over it.
25:33You rung me out.
25:34I was here till midnight last night working on this thing,
25:37but we got it working.
25:37Okay.
25:38So you have the choice.
25:40You can do this, or you can do...
25:44Super horror.
25:46You would not stop at this motel if you're driving.
25:49No, no, no, no.
25:50Someone's going to get stabbed at this motel.
25:52I think it's absolutely amazing.
25:54Well, thank you.
25:56I'd almost hang it in my house,
25:57but I'm afraid if I brought a date over,
25:58it might creep around at first.
26:01Well, clearly that's attached to the wall,
26:03so I guess that means it's not going anywhere.
26:07Correctamundo.
26:08Now, why?
26:08Just tell me why.
26:09Remember we got that in St. Paul?
26:11I was in the warehouse the other day.
26:12I noticed that the brake cable was a little messed up,
26:14so I brought it home to fix it.
26:16You could have fixed that in the warehouse.
26:17You know that.
26:18At the end of the day, Rick, it's your pawn job,
26:20but it's hard for me to make you money
26:22if you don't let me sell the good stuff.
26:23I know, but, like, it's fun to ride around on.
26:31All right.
26:32I absolutely love it.
26:33It's a Honda ATC70 utility vehicle.
26:37What year is it?
26:38It's an 85.
26:39Okay.
26:39Where did you get this?
26:41I bought it from a buddy of mine.
26:42It was about an hour away,
26:43and he is obsessed with trikes, bikes, everything.
26:46Yeah, someone has obviously modified the hell out of this thing.
26:50Yeah.
26:50I mean, yeah, there was a million little accessories for him.
26:53You could literally turn them into a snowmobile if you wanted to.
26:57Yeah.
26:58Now, the big question, how much do you want for it?
27:00I bought it, $45 brand new, but it was in mint condition.
27:03It looks like it's been beat up a little bit.
27:05Oh, I had fun with it.
27:06I had tons of fun with it.
27:08So, $24?
27:09Um, I'll give you $1,500.
27:12$18.
27:14We'll make this simple.
27:15We'll just settle at $1,700.
27:16We'll both have a great day.
27:19$17 and you don't sue me for having a good time.
27:21Got a deal.
27:23Sweet.
27:24Um, just walk right over there.
27:26They'll get you paid.
27:27No, the Pulse Shop's not a library.
27:28You can't just keep checking stuff out.
27:30You know what?
27:31I like it.
27:32It's kind of cool in my garage.
27:34So, are we going to talk about the obvious elephant in the room?
27:38Talk about this?
27:40This is one of my childhood dream cars, all right?
27:43Remember when we did the whole Route 66 thing and I found the car making it?
27:51Hey, James.
27:51How's it going?
27:52Hey, fellas.
27:53What's going on, Rick?
27:54This is the car you're so excited to see.
27:57This is an incredible car.
27:58When I was a kid, every guy wanted one of these things.
28:00Super easy to work on.
28:02Great gas mileage.
28:03You know, the fact that it's actually a convertible.
28:05Finding one in this condition.
28:07This is a diamond in the rough right here.
28:08George, is this thing all original?
28:09Have you done anything to it?
28:11I haven't done anything to it.
28:12I got it just the way it is.
28:13Can we take it for a test spin real quick?
28:15Sure.
28:15Let's do it.
28:26Wow.
28:31Actually, it runs really, really good.
28:33It reminds me of the little go-karts when you're riding at the racetrack.
28:42The tire's rubbing on the fender or something there.
28:45It's rubbing, but it's not like horrible.
28:48It's got little cosmetic things on it, but it's got good roots to it.
28:52Yeah, she's got her issues, but she's all right.
28:54Let's hope this guy will deal a little bit.
29:01Brakes are good.
29:04So, how was it?
29:05It was great.
29:05There's a few issues.
29:07Front tire rubs when you go around a corner.
29:09It's got some body work and stuff, and we found some spots with Bondo and some stuff's cracking.
29:13So, James, what do you think it's worth?
29:14There's a lot of little stuff we're going to have to change on it.
29:17Changing the motor, changing the tranny out.
29:19At least six months of restoring it.
29:21I'd say tops, $11,500.
29:24Okay.
29:25What will you take for it?
29:27I can do $12,000 on it.
29:29You can do $11,000?
29:30I don't know, man.
29:31I think $12,000 is fair.
29:33How much do you love it, Rick?
29:35$11,800?
29:37I think $11,900 sounds great.
29:39But you know what $11,800 sounds better?
29:40To you?
29:43Not to me.
29:43Can we settle on $11,800?
29:46I guess we can do $11,800.
29:48$11,800.
29:49It's a deal.
29:49All right.
29:50All right.
29:51Look at all the work I've done to this.
29:54You like the paint job I did?
29:55I messed up the hood a little bit.
29:56I got to redo that.
29:57But look at it.
30:011962 Bahama Blue.
30:03All right.
30:04Rick, it's about time to eat some burgers.
30:06But first, can we go rinse them off and re-season them?
30:08I'm telling you, you're going to try something new, Chuck.
30:10I'm going to show you how to season a piece of meat.
30:12I'll tell you what.
30:13We'll cook mine, and then we'll cook some other ones you did.
30:15We'll see whose is better.
30:16No competition.
30:39Hey, Pops!
30:42Plus, you only had one pinball machine.
30:44No, I got multiple pinball machines.
30:46Where did this one come from?
30:48San Francisco.
30:55Hey, Rick.
30:57Welcome to Freego Watch.
30:58I think I just entered paradise.
30:59I love this.
31:00All right.
31:02We've got a huge collection here.
31:05Yeah, we've got about 60 machines here.
31:08Definitely the largest collection in San Francisco.
31:11Okay.
31:12And you said you had some for sale?
31:13Yeah, no.
31:13We have a few games here for sale.
31:15Well, it is right.
31:17Here is the Pirates of the...
31:19Is it Caribbean or Caribbean?
31:22Pinball machine looks cool.
31:23I mean, you've got a lot going on there.
31:25Absolutely.
31:26This game right here is one of the...
31:28Where they crammed almost as many toys and features as they possibly could.
31:31You have this ship that rocks back and forth.
31:34And then if you lock a ball into that back sector there, it puts it into a cannon and fires
31:39the ball across.
31:40Yeah, there's a lot going on with this game.
31:41So the price is?
31:43$27,000.
31:44Arr.
31:45That's a little much.
31:46What else we got?
31:48Let me show you over here.
31:50This brings us to a really cool machine, the Riverboat Gambler.
31:56I love the whole Vegas theme here.
31:58Kind of cheesy, but I'm from Vegas and we embrace cheesy.
32:01Okay.
32:03I like that.
32:03So does it work?
32:05Absolutely works.
32:06Let me test this thing out.
32:07All right.
32:07Press that start button.
32:08All right.
32:09Welcome aboard.
32:20I am not this bad.
32:21I am not this bad.
32:25Well, I'm super impressed with it.
32:27So how much do you want for it?
32:28$3,400.
32:29Okay.
32:30Not $2,500?
32:32Maybe I'd go as low as $3,200.
32:35I'll make it easy.
32:36I'll get $3,000 and I'll take it off your hands.
32:40$3,000 out the door.
32:41Deal.
32:42All right, sweet.
32:42We got a deal.
32:43You got it.
32:44Okay.
32:46You got to have a lot of games in a game room, right?
32:48All right.
32:49We'll just pretend like we don't see the very, very expensive painting from the pawn shop either.
32:53It's a Maurice Sendak.
32:54Remember years ago, I bought a whole collection of it and it's one of the biggest deals I ever
32:59did, but we still have a couple left.
33:01So, I just figured it'll be part of my rotational art.
33:07That's a very expensive piece of rotational art.
33:16Hi, Rick.
33:17Hey, how's it going?
33:18Good.
33:18How are you?
33:19Good.
33:19Wait till you see this.
33:20These are sensational.
33:21These are amazing illustrations from Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.
33:25This is totally amazing.
33:26That is cool.
33:28Even today, I mean, every kid loves this book.
33:30I agree with you 100%.
33:32It was the little boy who got sent to bed without dinner because his mother told him
33:36he was being a wild thing.
33:37Exactly.
33:39They're just incredible.
33:40I mean, I love these.
33:40Where the Wild Things Are.
33:41It was one of Maurice Sendak's earliest books written and actually illustrated as well.
33:45These are all original illustrations.
33:47Everything is one of a kind.
33:48These are amazing.
33:49It was the greatest book ever written.
33:51So, how much do you want for them?
33:53Well, that's a good question.
33:54I mean, these works are really priceless.
33:56What I would value the collection at is about $375,000.
34:01Whoa.
34:02I have an art expert I work with.
34:04So, let me call my buddy and we'll go from there.
34:08Okay.
34:09You got it.
34:10Hey, what's up, man?
34:11Hey, good to see you.
34:12Chad, good to see you.
34:12Hey, Nick.
34:13Nice to see you.
34:14Oh, there it is.
34:17Wow.
34:18These are great.
34:19He's just a international cultural phenomenon.
34:22He's done an opera.
34:24He's done a play.
34:26He's done a movie.
34:27But, I mean, the book is, of course, the cornerstone of everything.
34:32It's just really great.
34:34So, I mean, just seriously, though.
34:36I mean, what can I pay and still make money?
34:38So, there's 12 images total.
34:42Realistically, I think you can probably get about $310,000.
34:46Okay.
34:46Two collectors.
34:49Okay.
34:50I'll let you know what happens.
34:50All right.
34:51Good luck to you.
34:53See you later, Chad.
34:57I think they're amazing.
34:58I'll tell you what.
35:00I'll give you $200,000.
35:02That's low.
35:04I could do, like, $300,000.
35:06I'll give you $240,000.
35:09How about $250,000?
35:16Um, I can't believe I'm doing this, but, um, you got a deal.
35:19Awesome.
35:20Congratulations.
35:21It's, like, one of the coolest things I ever bought.
35:24It's, like, one of my favorite childhood books.
35:26It reminds me of it.
35:27So, you just keep it in here to remember how great you are at making deals?
35:31If you don't mind, I'd like to rotate some art around my house.
35:34No, that's, no, that's, you can't do that.
35:36I feel like if you guys are the FBI and you're searching my house, can we please go eat some
35:41food, guys?
35:42I actually would love to go eat right now because this unofficial Museum of Rick's is getting
35:47a little overwhelming.
35:49All right.
35:49Let's go have the burgers, all right?
35:51Let's, please.
35:51Uh, I don't know if I'm going to have a burger.
35:52I think I'll just have a bun with some ketchup on it.
36:07Well, I got burgers.
36:12All right.
36:13Are you ready?
36:14Yeah.
36:15Put me one right here.
36:16Okay, there we go.
36:18Oh, no, there we go.
36:21Here you go.
36:22Rick.
36:23You know, I saw everything you put on these burgers, but I can't quite pin down one of
36:27the flavors.
36:28Cinnamon.
36:28Makes it taste a little different, doesn't it?
36:30Cinnamon.
36:31I'm too hungry to care.
36:32I need to get some more pepper.
36:34Does it look familiar?
36:35What?
36:36Chromex salt and pepper shakers I bought?
36:39These are from the pawn shop?
36:40Yeah, there's a whole set of canisters and everything that I bought.
36:43It's all Chromex.
36:46Hey, how's it going?
36:47Good, how are you?
36:48This is Chromex, right?
36:49It is Chromex aluminum spice rack and kitchen canisters.
36:53And I believe this is from the early 50s, right?
36:55Around 1957.
36:56Okay, definitely pretty cool.
36:58At one point, aluminum was one of the most expensive metals in the entire world.
37:02Alcoa, the aluminum company of America, made a new way to make aluminum, and it made it
37:07a whole lot cheaper than steel.
37:08So, Alcoa, they were just going to get in the house horse market and create a product
37:12called Chromex.
37:13It was a really good product.
37:15It kind of was something that kind of revolutionized the whole, you know, industry here, but lasted
37:20only a few years.
37:21They had the right idea.
37:22I just don't think they had the people to make it really work.
37:24Right.
37:26Was it still in the original boxes or anything like that when you got it?
37:28I mean, because it looks brand new, so...
37:30Yeah, it was.
37:31Don't you wish you would have kept them?
37:32I really do.
37:35So, what are you trying to get out of it?
37:36I'd like to get around $7.25.
37:38$7.25.
37:40That isn't too far away from what I think I can get out of it.
37:44I can do five.
37:46Okay, I think that's fair.
37:47All right, cool.
37:47We got a deal.
37:48Meet me over there, and we'll do some paperwork, okay?
37:50Awesome.
37:57You don't look like a pink salt and pepper shaker guy.
37:59It's Carmex.
38:00It's cool.
38:00As a matter of fact, I think that potato salad came out of the fridge at the pawn shop.
38:04The potato salad did not come from the pawn shop.
38:06Good.
38:07I think what's going on here, the word for it is hoarder.
38:11I am not a hoarder.
38:12I think you are.
38:13No, people who hoard stuff hoard worthless stuff.
38:15All my stuff is, like, cool.
38:17Like this?
38:20Okay.
38:21All right, I'll admit, that's been sitting around the pawn shop for years.
38:23It never sold.
38:24So I figured when people are over the house, and we're in the backyard, and we're having
38:27a barbecue, and playing in the pool, and stuff like that, maybe people could have fun trying
38:30to rope the plastic cowl.
38:32How many times have you practiced roping on it?
38:34I haven't yet.
38:36Do you just call up your old buddies and be like, hey, guys, want to go rope the fake
38:39calf in my backyard?
38:47So this is what you're talking about, Shep?
38:48Yeah.
38:50You must be Kimmy.
38:52I am.
38:52There it is, Rick.
38:53Okay.
38:54That is different.
38:55Yes, come on down, and I'll show you.
38:57Okay.
38:58This is Shorty.
39:00Okay.
39:01He's a roping steerer.
39:02He mostly works on concrete or something solid, because he just spins his wheels in the dirt.
39:06And Sparky 3 there.
39:10Sparky 3.
39:11He's also mechanical.
39:13Runs off of a remote.
39:14So you rope the head, you turn him off, and the healer comes around and ropes the feet, and
39:20you can do practice runs on him.
39:22Okay.
39:23So can we see this thing work?
39:24You absolutely can.
39:26You ready?
39:26I'm all ready.
39:27All right.
39:28All right.
39:37I told you it was cool, Rick.
39:39I knew you'd love these.
39:40All right.
39:41I'm impressed.
39:41It's pretty cool.
39:42And so this thing is sort of like the same thing?
39:44It is.
39:45It's a lot of fun for kids, learning position when you're roping.
39:49So when a kid comes out, or an adult, whichever, because it's fun for all, that's horns, and
39:58that's what you want to catch.
39:59This is definitely cool.
40:02So how much do you want for these?
40:03For the big one, $4,000, and for the little one, $800.
40:07Okay.
40:08I got to say, the big one pops, that's a little much for us.
40:13This one right here is pretty cool.
40:14What do you think?
40:15No, I think it's great.
40:16I'll give you $400 for Shorty.
40:20Okay.
40:20$400, we got a deal?
40:21Yep.
40:22All right.
40:22Thanks.
40:23You're amazing.
40:24I'll get you paid.
40:25You guys load it up.
40:27All right.
40:35You got to admit, it's getting excessive that everything you have is from the pawn shop.
40:39No, I, no.
40:41It might look at a lot of stuff at first glance, but it's a big house.
40:44And everything sort of goes together.
40:46Can you pass me water, Big Hoss?
40:47Yeah.
40:48Oh, so you already took this home.
40:53What?
40:54You really expect that to come in the pawn shop and me not take it home?
40:58It is like one of the coolest coolers I've ever seen in my entire existence at the pawn shop.
41:03I had to have it.
41:03Porter.
41:05All right.
41:06Well, I'm ready for some pool time.
41:08I brought a floatie, and I plan on doing some floating.
41:11All right.
41:12I'll go get my swimming trunks on.
41:13I'm going to go check his room and see what other stuff for the pawn shop is.
41:16My room is off limits.
41:17I don't think he wants to go in his room.
41:19Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
