00:00What position does Moise's Ballesteros play?
00:04Well, if I was a manager of the team and I fight with counsel every day to try to do
00:08that,
00:09I would have him starting either every day as a DH, no lefty, righty, none of that stuff,
00:17or he's your everyday catcher at AAA, learning a position that he needs to continue to get better at,
00:24that he's not good enough at right now to catch in the major leagues.
00:29So the question is, if you catch every day at AAA, is that going to improve you enough to be
00:36a major league catcher,
00:38being able to handle a major league staff?
00:40According to Jamison Tyone, 10 days ago he said no.
00:44He said the only thing that's going to teach Ballesteros how to catch in the major leagues is being in
00:50the major leagues.
00:51So that was his opinion.
00:53He's not in the coaching staff.
00:54He's not the manager.
00:56He doesn't get a call on this.
00:58But it was refreshing to hear him say, you know, Mo has to stay here and catch in order to
01:03be able to get with big league pitchers,
01:07understand, you know, what that difference is between catching AAA pitchers and major league pitchers.
01:14I understand where Jamison is coming from, and I appreciate him standing up for his guy.
01:18But in a season where the Cubs have expectations, you don't want any mistakes behind the plate in a guy
01:27learning that ends up costing you the division.
01:30Like, I get it, but I'm not sure that I agree, and I'm not sure the baseball establishment would agree
01:36either.
01:38Right, but so the real question then for both of you guys is, is he the everyday DH, even against
01:45left-handers?
01:46Yes.
01:46And, you know, do you let Conforto go and you settle with two of the other veterans to play the
01:52outfield?
01:52Well, thank you.
