00:02I'm Leanna Vamp and I'm cosplaying as Siri. We are here in downtown LA. I'm here with some of my
00:07friends over in the corner. We have Shawnee and Triss and the Leshin back over there. And we are ready
00:12to have a great time. We hope that you enjoy watching it as much as we had in making it.
00:19We are here downtown. We are doing all kinds of crazy stuff. I think they managed to break the front
00:25window of the police car.
00:27Yeah, I actually gave money to start all the way on the street.
00:36Look at that production value.
00:40Motherfucker.
00:42Here's me. Here's Sultan.
00:51I'm Dani Hartel.
00:53I'm a cosplayer and I made a monster suit and they decided to use it. So I'm pretty excited.
01:00It wasn't your average cosplay.
01:03I mean, there's a million girls doing the cute girls from the video games.
01:08And you know, I couldn't really compete with all of them.
01:11So I really wanted to do something really different that would have me stand out if I could pull it
01:16off well.
01:16Okay.
01:17Up there, please.
01:18Good.
01:19Well done.
01:20Good.
01:20Tom will drive down the street.
01:22Gary will be up sitting, waiting for him over there.
01:25Needs a clear eyeline, very important, all the way to the car.
01:30This car will come down here.
01:31Gary will take off and hit this car approximately where it is now.
01:47Today we are shooting day two.
01:50We're here down by the train tracks.
01:53Conveniently, we have a train running back and forth.
01:55This is pretty cool.
01:57And we've got a homeless guy.
01:59All kinds of stuff going on.
02:02So you're making new friends here.
02:03Yeah, making new friends.
02:04All kinds of weird friends too.
02:07Yeah.
02:07All part of production, but also just random people on the street.
02:11That's funny.
02:12Action!
02:29I've cosplayed in a lot of different video game genres and the Witcher community in itself
02:34was so welcoming and so nice.
02:37And to see a lot of the other Witcher cosplayers, whenever you see another Witcher cosplayer
02:41or somebody else in a Witcher cosplayer and they might recognize you or you recognize them,
02:45they're always really welcoming and supportive.
02:47And I know as I've made this Shawnee costume and I've posted progress pictures on my social
02:53media, a lot of the other Witcher cosplayers have contacted me and they are so excited to
02:58see it or they're really big fans of the game.
03:00And so the community itself is really wonderful and everybody's super supportive.
03:03You are Beth from Witcher 2.
03:08I fell in love with the character pretty much.
03:11He's unique.
03:14Um, different.
03:17He's just overall not like many elf characters you would know.
03:25Let's go, Lisa!
03:27Get that ass!
03:28Get off topic!
03:29I was glad to do that for you!
03:31That's why pin her down!
03:32Pin her down!
03:33Good shot, man!
03:36Woo!
03:39You two, good!
03:41Good.
03:43Great, good, good.
03:44Great, good, good.
03:44Great, good.
03:44Great, set.
03:45I really love inspiring other people to just do some weird stuff with their cosplay
03:50cos there's a lot of really cool characters out there that don't get built because they
03:55seem hard but if you work hard enough at it, you can make it happen and once it's done the
04:01feeling is so great.
04:03So I found some boots, I actually cut out the whole middle part of it and then out of the
04:08straps.
04:08I hand distressed all the medals for the costume.
04:11I took a mold, molded a tree texture and figured out how to lay foam into it.
04:17That would be thin enough that I could sew it onto a bodysuit that I made.
04:20And then for the pants, I found some pants that wore the color.
04:23They're actually kind of like a stretch legging, so they're really, really comfortable.
04:27But they have the look of leather and I added all the seams and then all of the individual rivets.
04:31I used a basic historical pattern for the vest, but I manipulated it a little bit to create the different
04:38sections.
04:39I molded a pair of antlers that we had in my basement.
04:43And then hand sculpted this belt here, which is actually, I'll show you, just all attached by Velcro.
04:50Detailing around the edges makes a huge difference.
04:53I actually had to rig a harness because it's so heavy.
04:57And then for the pouches, you can see there's a pouch back here and my mic pack.
05:01And then another pouch, but these were all hand stitched.
05:04Hand stitched all the detailing and hand painted and distressed the leather.
05:10There's obviously fake leaves and there's fake moss.
05:13And then the shirt was actually a shirt that I found, I think at Old Navy, but I cut it
05:17out and put the collar in it.
05:19Hand painted the pattern you see on the green for the front and the back.
05:23I made fake mushrooms.
05:26And then one of my favorite things about her is obviously the white hair and the scar, which I love
05:31putting on this scar.
05:32And most of the time after I take the makeup off, I leave the scar on because it makes me
05:35feel pretty cool.
05:37The best thing ever is when I'm at a convention and somebody says, dude, cool costume.
05:42And I'm like, thanks.
05:43And they're like, whoa, there's a girl in there.
05:45It is a lot of research, a lot of hard work, a lot of blood, sweat and tears.
05:49There will be that moment where you're crying because you hate yourself because it's so difficult, but you're going to
05:53push through because you really want to make the costume.
05:55Yeah, it's just figuring it out.
05:58It's really how it happened.
06:00It's all Google.
06:02Just, I mean, if you want to figure out how to make it, you Google it hard enough and you'll
06:07figure it out.
06:08Cut.
06:11Okay, ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for a great couple of days.
06:15Sounds like a week.
06:16And thank you, that's a wrap.
