00:00I consider myself a nice person, but can I be rude on occasion? Sure. It's sometimes hard to define rude
00:06behavior as regular day-to-day action can often be taken the wrong way by others.
00:11Diana Gotsman, international etiquette expert, shared her insight into some of the rude things that people may do without even
00:18realizing it.
00:19Like cell phone misuse. We're all helplessly attached to them, but using the speakerphone feature in public or having loud,
00:27long conversations in a coffee shop is common, rude behavior.
00:30So is stopping to text in the middle of a busy street.
00:34Wearing too much cologne or perfume. We all like to smell nice, I get it, I do too, but too
00:39much fragrance can often be worse than too little.
00:43Gotsman says if you find that people constantly comment on your fragrance, it's probably not a compliment.
00:48For getting to make introductions, I've definitely done it.
00:52If you and a friend run into somebody one of you knows and you start a conversation without introducing one
00:57to the other,
00:58you're leaving that person out of the interaction to stand there awkwardly.
01:02Introductions take one sentence and two seconds to make.
01:06From asking too many personal questions to chewing with your mouth open, there are plenty of rude behaviors we all
01:12partake in from time to time.
01:13But it's never too late to catch ourselves, correct ourselves, and make the world a little bit nicer to living.
