00:40At any time, you can turn on AI for your party members

00:50The Companions serve a couple of interesting roles
00:52First and foremost, they are your buddies
00:55Each of the Companions are pulled from the different factions in the game
00:58and we use them to sort of be mouthpieces for the factions
01:00We kill only in fair battle
01:03We don't slay our prisoners
01:04The Iron Marshal has tasked me with keeping you alive
01:07and I have no intention of disappointing her
01:10The Companions play a large role in the player's experience
01:12and give you a good eye into both the world and the factions that you're interacting with
01:17They're experienced people and they have agendas and motivations that might conflict with your own actually
01:21I hoped you would assist me, but it appears you're more nuisance than help
01:25And they also have certain roles to play in combat
01:27For example, something called the companion combo system
01:29It's essentially these maneuvers that are very flashy and spectacular
01:33Each of them have special combination moves with the main character
01:36Some have combination moves with each other
01:38For instance, you can have a move in which the character knocks an enemy to the ground
01:42and you fall up with another attack
01:43The archer like gets ready and then the player goes
01:46whoop-boom and punches the ground
01:48and the archer like launches in the air and he's like
01:50pew pew pew pew and shooting and stuff
01:52It's pretty cool
01:57Spell creation in Tyranny is very different from anything you've seen in an obsidian title before
02:01We actually have a really unique system where you get to craft and make your own custom spells
02:06So as you progress through Tyranny you'll learn about different spells like healing spells, attack spells
02:11And you'll also learn different shapes
02:13And those shapes allow you to alter the effect of the spell
02:16Whether it's an aura of flames around your character or a fireball that gets tossed against your enemy
02:21And the player has the freedom to combine these elements as they see fit
02:25And as you find more and more of these magical symbols throughout the world
02:28You can keep making them more powerful, more versatile
02:30It's a very customizable system that allows you to play the way you like
02:37Tyranny uses a classless leveling system
02:39We didn't want to pigeonhole you as a fighter or mage or thief
02:42Instead we let your actions define what your skill set is
02:45The more you use like any skills that you're interested in
02:47The more you gain ranks in them and then you continue to progress in that way
02:51If you decide to use, you know, one-handed sword shield or you use your staff
02:56You're actually going to grow in those specific skill sets over time
02:59This also extends into the dialogue
03:01We allow you to modify your dialogue options
03:03You can then access more conversation options later on
03:09So rather than just having reputation be how different factions feel about you in the world
03:13Reputation actually makes your character more powerful
03:16With every faction and major character you can gain both positive and negative reputation
03:20You unlock new abilities based on whether a faction loves you or hates you
03:24I should have suspected as such

03:28There are benefits to both
03:29And in fact we give you special powers that unlock
03:31As you build loyalty and fear with the factions and the companions
03:34So there's a benefit both in pissing somebody off and making them love you
03:42What they're really going to like about it is this different way of playing an RPG
03:46We wanted to take it a step further from a lot of our games
03:48The choices you make will make the experience feel very tailored
03:51We have a lot of really interesting systems that you get to play with
03:54The combat and leveling systems that we've built
03:56Special hit reactions
03:57Spell creation systems
03:59Combobility

04:02With both your factions and your companions in the world
04:05You have the freedom to go in the direction that you want
