00:00Today National Cabinet acknowledged that the longer the conflict the Middle East goes,
00:04the more significant the impact will be for global supply chains, fuel prices and the
00:10wider economy.
00:12And it's also understood by Australians that this is a global issue that we are dealing
00:18with.
00:19The conflict is an unprecedented shock to global energy markets.
00:24The International Energy Agency has called it the biggest in history.
00:29Already Australians are feeling the consequences of this.
00:34My message to Australians is please do not take more fuel than you need.
00:40That is how you can help.
00:42It's the Australian way to think of others, to think of their neighbours, their community
00:47and also to think of the national interest.
00:51Only take what you need.
00:53And I'm deeply concerned by attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure, including the
00:59latest overnight in Qatar.
01:01We condemn Iran's ongoing and reckless reprisal attacks in countries across the region who
01:08are not parties to this conflict.
