00:00Let's talk about Deuce. So what are the biggest physical limitations and risks that could still
00:05show up when he gets cleared to return back to the action? With the surgery that Miles ended up
00:11having, this was done about a month ago now. I think it was February 6th he had the surgery.
00:16Usually when we're looking at recovery time, it's around that 6 to 12 weeks for most athletes to be
00:21able to get to competition by 12 weeks. But the issue with Miles or with Deuce, as we like to
00:27call
00:27him, this man is not just a regular athlete, right? He has that explosiveness, that lateral kind of
00:33agility that we expect from him. And that's the thing that's actually going to be the slowest to
00:37come back following these kinds of repairs. So that signature kind of defensive pressure ability that
00:44he has might actually still be slow. They're really going to have to do a good job of kind of
00:48keeping
00:48him warmed up throughout the game because that back and forth with sitting and being stationary for a
00:53while, that's really going to make it tougher for him to kind of get up and go.
00:57How would you treat a regular person when it comes to recovering from a hernia?
01:02Sometimes we can actually rehab these without any surgery. But if somebody does need mesh placed,
01:07if they do need some sort of surgical procedure, a lot of the times we are talking very slow return
01:13to sport. You're trying to limit some of that like aggressive ballistic type movements. Obviously the
01:18physical therapy, but also shockwave therapy has been used to try to help remodel some of that tendon,
01:23as well as PRP injections. So PRP being platelet-rich plasma, where we take some of your
01:28blood, spin it down in a centrifuge, inject it into that damaged tissue under ultrasound guidance.
