00:06friends and clanmates, Colton Dunn and Mark McKinney from NBC Superstore.
00:11Hello! Hello! So guys, we saw a lot today. We played a few different things. What did we see?
00:18We saw an awesome launch of Destiny 2.
00:21You know, I think they really listened to a lot of people's ideas on sort of, you know, not just
00:26the gameplay of the original Destiny, but also just how the community was coming together, how people, like, play with
00:31clans, and I think they tried to make Destiny 2 a little bit more compatible with that social structure.
00:36I would agree.
00:39Yeah, the idea that, like, if we're trying to do a raid and we only have five people that we
00:43can just hop on and recruit somebody, that's going to be pretty killer.
00:47Yeah, without having to use, like, one of those third-party sites.
00:50So, we've got to play some of the game, too, right? We've got to play strikes, PvP, and part of
00:56the campaign. What did you guys think about the strike?
00:58I liked the strike. It was a Vex strike. It was, for me, it was mostly about the weapons and
01:04seeing the world behind it. It looks massive. It's fantastic and vertical and those concrete Vex blocks just kind of
01:11all over the place.
01:12And there's some really neat, sort of like, what would you call them, slingshots that fire you from island to
01:18island. Good boss.
01:19And I can give it away now, right?
01:21Yeah.
01:22The Earth Mover is a fantastic obstacle course. Really good.
01:27Yeah, you know, definitely in the strike, I think most of all, you got to see how the environment really
01:32affects the gameplay.
01:34And, you know, they do a little bit of this in Destiny.
01:36And there's a couple, like, areas specifically, you know, jumping levels, stuff like that, where it's really kind of about
01:42the environment.
01:43But I feel like in the strike, they definitely made it a big part.
01:46You know, whether it's the floor disappearing and you're falling through, or it's that Earth Mover that's, like, cycling around.
01:51And you've got to keep your eye on where those drill bits are, but you're also trying to keep your
01:56eye on where the Vex are.
01:57So, yeah, I really enjoyed the strike.
02:00Yeah.
02:00It was epic without being over the top.
02:02What did you think?
02:03Yeah, that was super fun.
02:05The Earth Mover, getting to dodge that and then, like, run back and get a revive in for the teammate
02:09and then run forward.
02:11And then I kept dying on the part where the floor was dropping out.
02:14I was just mistiming my double jump wrong, and I kept getting smushed.
02:18Dude, that's some vault-of-glass stuff right there, but you've got to be ready for that.

02:42Like, we were constantly, like, on the move, running and running and jumping and going to a new area and
02:48trying to get somewhere.
02:49Had a lot of urgency to it.
02:52Right.
02:53PvP. Talk to me about PvP.
02:55I liked PvP.
02:57The game type was Countdown.
02:59Pretty basic game type.
03:00One round, you're trying to arm the bomb and defend it.
03:03The other round, you're trying to just defend the spots and not let them get armed.
03:07And you could also win if you kill everybody on the other team.
03:11You know, I liked it.
03:12PvP is always a little tougher for me.
03:14It takes me a little while to, like, get into a groove on it.
03:17Come to an event like this, you definitely have a big mix of people who are, like, straight-up PvP
03:22players.
03:23So, you know, I think I played two PvP games.
03:26One game we won and things went well.
03:29Second game didn't go so hot.
03:32I did not know that game type.
03:35And it was reflected in my game play.
03:39Yeah, the second game we were all on the same team and we got matched against the, who I can
03:45only assume are MLG Pro Elite Twitch streamers because they mopped the floor with us.
03:51Sadly, I actually looked over the, you could see who they were on the other end.
03:54It was the Jonas Brothers and their mom we lost there.
03:58Mrs. Jonas?
03:59Yeah.
03:59She did something right raising those boys.
04:01Yeah, I only got to play the Hunter and the Warlock.
04:07And I'm more of a Hunter player, but it was actually really fun playing the Warlock in this one.
04:11They have that new Sword Super with the Warlock that was pretty dope.
04:17And, you know, it was fun to play.
04:19And, you know, obviously the Hunter, the Golden Gun lasts a little longer.
04:24Absolutely.
04:25Which is great.
04:25Yeah.
04:27You know, because it's such a badass thing, but it's so short-lived right now, so it's, that's going to
04:31be fun.
04:32And, you know, I did, I got to watch some of the Titan play.
04:35Didn't get to play one, but it looked like it had some cool stuff, too.
04:38Yeah, and I would say, like, I never play Warlock, but I could tell that the glide function on it
04:43was a lot better.
04:44It was easier to jump glide.
04:46It was easier to control.
04:47I like the layout, by the way, to the selections and stuff.
04:51Oh, they have that third, yes, that third box.
04:56It's on circle in the default, and either you hold it or you double tap it, and it'll be something
05:02like a shadow step for a Hunter,
05:03but it'll be a shadow step where you also reload your weapon.
05:06Yeah.
05:07And then the Warlock is either a weapons bonus or a healing bonus.
05:12Yeah.
05:12For the team.
05:13For the team.
05:13Anybody can run through the buff, so it's like a battle buff.
05:16Yeah.
05:17You got to get your battle buff.
05:18Yeah.
05:20Yeah, I thought getting more shots on the Golden Gun was pretty rad, and, like, multiple Fists of Havoc, too.
05:28Sometimes it doesn't always work out great for the person Fist of Havoc-ing.
05:33Colton had a great gameplay clip where somebody was trying to get him, but they were unsuccessful.
05:38Yeah, that's right.
05:39I was able to shoot the guy doing his Fist of Havoc.
05:41That's so satisfying.
05:43You know, again, what I really like about, you know, they did this with Halo as well.
05:47What I think that Bungie does a good job of is, you know, they, like, make the, they make changes
05:52that are improvements, but they don't get rid of what just works, you know?
05:56And when something works, it works.
05:58Yeah.
05:58That's what I like, what I love about Destiny is, and obviously with Destiny 2 is, I think they tweaked
06:03some things that were, like, really great changes.
06:06But overall, it's, you know, it's the game.
06:08It's the game you want to play.
06:09It's the same game.
06:09Yeah, they have stuff that's just kind of intriguing.
06:12We're all nerds.
06:12We love middling with it.
06:14And now that there's sort of, like, a third sort of, like, ability that you can do, the way that
06:19your guns are organized, primary and secondary are gone, in favor of a new sort of, like, burn-based kind
06:27of thing.
06:27And the guns are different, but they're kind of fun.
06:31They're going to be good to master.
06:32The mortar that I tried out, I can't remember the name of it, but it had a real genuine mortar
06:36curve to it.
06:37Oh, yeah.
06:37Yeah.
06:38The grenade launcher.
06:39Yeah.
06:39Yeah, it's interesting having the power weapons be their own separate thing, like shotguns, fusion rifles, grenade launchers, rocket launchers
06:47are all in the same class now.
06:49Right.
06:49So I feel like it's really going to kind of change the dynamic of the game.
06:54And then we also got to play a bit of the campaign.
06:57The campaign was awesome.
06:59You know, I feel like that was where you got a good chance to kind of see definitely some of
07:04the new design and the worlds that they're going to make.
07:06You know, as you probably see, like, the tower gets destroyed and the campaign kind of picks up during that
07:11attack on the tower.
07:14And it's fun.
07:14You start out in the tower, then you go onto a ship, and it's intense.
07:18What I really liked about this is you fight alongside Zavala in the campaign, which is kind of cool.
07:24That's a fun part.
07:25That is kind of cool.
07:25But the world of the large ship, the second sort of territory that you're in, is awesome.
07:31I can't wait to explore it.
07:32I was running through because I was playing it, but I wanted to just turn around and touch things.
07:37Yeah, you wanted to just kind of like roll around.
07:40I think one of the things that they talked about in the keynote, too, that really interests me is all
07:45the exploring that we're going to get to do in this game, like secret areas and little side quests and
07:50different things that you can just, you know, run around the world and discover new things to play and new
07:57activities.
07:58I'm really looking forward to that.
08:00Yeah.
08:00It was really fun.
08:02It sounds like there's going to be characters that approach you when you're in, like, the Badlands or something.
08:07They go, I knew you from Detroit.
08:09Do you want to come and have some ale?
08:11And then something fun will happen.
08:13Yeah.
08:14I can't wait for that.
08:15That's a guess.

08:17I think that's going to happen.
