01:04Cade's been filling this prison with bad guys that are really bad.
01:08And so when it breaks, things can happen to all the world.
01:14First place you're going to go to is the Tangled Shore,
01:17which is a new part of the reef that you've never seen before.
01:20That's right, my friend.
01:22It's a collection of lashed-together asteroids and rocks out in the asteroid belt.
01:27It's very otherworldly, and it's full of pirates and assassins and thieves.
01:33It's become a lawless place.
01:34It truly is a frontier.
01:35It's completely taken over.
01:39The most malevolent force there is the Scorn.
01:41They're very aggressive.
01:43They're always going to charge and push you.
01:45The barrens are the top dogs in the Scorn.
01:48And each one has gone back and, like, committed nefarious crimes.
01:52I think of it as the reverse Magnificent Seven,
01:54like the worst of the worst criminals.
01:56You are hunting down these different barrens.
01:57In fact, they're called barren hunts.
01:59So one barren is a sniper, and you have a sniper-versus-sniper battle with them.
02:02Another barren is this big, giant, hulking melee character.
02:11One of the things we're most excited about is the new weapon system.
02:15Hey, if you like Destiny 2, great.
02:17Play that way.
02:18But if you like Destiny 1, great.
02:20Play that way.
02:21But if you're crazy, why not three shotguns, right?
02:25Just for the fun of it.
02:27We need to have as many ways as possible,
02:29and then we need to have people fighting about it.
02:31like, no, man, you f***ed up.
02:33You're taking the wrong weapons.
02:34Crash the f***.
02:41So random rules are coming back.
02:42Every single weapon is going to feel different when it drops.
02:45And we're improving the mod system
02:47so you can customize your weapon the way you want it.
02:53We've got a whole new Masterwork-style system coming together
02:57where you actually are able to kind of move your levels up over time.
03:01And so there's investment back on the weapons again.

03:19We took a lot of inspiration from Rise of Iron,

03:23You've got a huge hammer now,
03:25and you slam that thing down,
03:27and it sends out this fire in front of you
03:29that then creates a fire tornado.
03:32We've got to take it to the next level, you know?
03:35The idea that anyone who plays,
03:37however they play,
03:38they're going to have some new way to engage.
03:41I'm in love with the new Void Warlock.
03:44Teleportation that's like super anime,
03:46just like...
03:50We've been having great games with the Ark Warlock.
03:54Basically cast this thing, he pulls back.
03:58Yeah, and it's going to break the game,
04:00and I think that's amazing.
04:03We also wanted a new weapon type
04:04that felt meaningful,
04:05so we came up with a bow and arrow,
04:07which seems kind of crazy,
04:09but when you use it,
04:10you feel like godlike.
04:11It is utilitarian, it's fantastical,
04:14it's also sci-fi.
04:15So we have a short-range bow,
04:16we have a medium-range bow,
04:17we have a long-range bow.
04:18We built this guy,
04:19which is supposed to be super techie.
04:24You're like,
04:25why would you ever choose a bow
04:27in a game that has an automatic,
04:30machine gun,
04:31but boy, it's deadly.
04:33I mean, that's a nice machine gun
04:34you got there, buddy,
04:35but bleep, right?
04:36And then it's done.
04:41The biggest thing for me
04:42going into production on this game
04:44was a new way to play,
04:46a new thing to do
04:46that is new to Destiny.
04:48Let's see what we've got.
04:51You want to be able to give players
04:53what they want,
04:54but also surprise them.
04:55Gambit is a brand new mode.
04:57Destiny begs to marry PBE and PVP together.
05:01It's like adding bacon
05:02to peanut butter and jelly.
05:05You start off being able to see
05:07the other team
05:07that you're going to compete against,
05:09so you can taunt each other,
05:10you can emote.
05:11Each team is in their own separate arena,
05:13and they're being assaulted by combatants.
05:16They're dropping moats for you to collect.
05:18You bank them.
05:19When you put them in your bank,
05:21you're going to send a blocker
05:22over to the other side
05:23that locks their bank down.
05:25They can't put moats into it
05:26until they take out that blocker.
05:28Filling up your bank with the moats
05:30is how you summon your primeval.
05:32You burn it down.
05:33That's it.
05:34Round's over.
05:35The interesting part
05:36is that we allow one person from your team
05:38to go over to the other side
05:40and physically invade.
05:42I mean, I've seen people
05:45that just hate PVP.
05:47Like, the first time they invade
05:49and they get multiple kills,
05:51they'll come back
05:52and they'll be like,
05:52suck it!
05:53It's awesome.
05:59We leave the raid team alone.
06:00I mean, if you can't tell,
06:01we just kind of let them do their own thing.

06:04For this next raid,
06:05we wanted to get back
06:06to the epic adventure
06:08where you're going out to slay
06:09a big monster again.
06:11This raid has more bosses
06:12than any raid we've ever had before
06:14and we're really excited
06:15to get players in there.
06:19The raid is actually about
06:20more than just the raid.
06:22It's about the Dreaming City,
06:23the place that the raid exists.
06:25And it's an in-game destination
06:26that we've never done before.
06:28It's the awoken homeland.
06:30I could talk about
06:31the Dreaming City for hours.
06:32It's like if the Vault of Glass
06:33and Dreadnought had a baby.
06:35They were like twins.
06:37Yeah, that's actually more accurate.
06:38Yeah, they're like twins.
06:39It had twins
06:40and then you took those twins
06:41and you just put them
06:42on the doorstep of Peter Jackson,
06:44raise them as his own
06:45and then that's the Dreaming City.
06:47It is magical
06:48and weird and mysterious.
06:50It's designed to be
06:52a destination
06:53that has puzzles
06:54that you need to solve.
06:55A lot of hidden corners,
06:57lots of passageways
06:58that might not seem
06:59to exist the first time.
07:00And the raiders,
07:01they affect this destination.
07:02They change it for everyone.
07:03It's like this cyclical
07:04endgame place
07:05where there's just secrets
07:06and different activities
07:07that unveil over time.
07:08So the Dreaming City
07:09that you see at launch
07:10is not going to be
07:11the same Dreaming City
07:11two, three weeks later.
07:18So with every design decision
07:20we've made for Forsaken,
07:21the first thing we ask
07:22is how will the community
07:23react to this?
07:24Players want their investment
07:26in Destiny to matter
07:28and they want to be able
07:29to see that reflected
07:30in the content.
07:31We knew we wanted to do something
07:32for the collectors in our game.
07:33So we built a feature
07:34called The Collections.
07:35It's a way for you to track
07:36all the items
07:37that you can go out
07:38and acquire.
07:39There's so much gear
07:40in our game.
07:41There are 2,000 items
07:42you can get.
07:43Go get them.
07:44You can look at sets
07:45and you can say
