00:05and we haven't had a chance to talk to you since the beach.
00:07I'm just curious, lessons learned there,
00:09maybe how that's framing this season,
00:10maybe the motivation kind of the way this group is using that to kind of.
00:14Yeah, we didn't, we didn't finish the way we wanted to,
00:16but there's a lot of lessons learned.
00:18I think that film has been watched a lot by, by all of us.
00:20And, you know, it's a new group now. It's a new team.
00:22Every year is individual, right?
00:24What we accomplished last year has nothing to do with what we're going to
00:26accomplish this year, but it allows you to say, okay, what can we add?
00:29What are the wrinkles that we can adjust?
00:30How can we play off of our personnel?
00:32There's some different personnel this year than there was last year.
00:35So all those things play into it.
00:38Your decision to promote from within with, with Chris and Drew,
00:41just your thoughts around that.
00:43Why were they ready for this moment and just the continuity that they'll bring?
00:46Yeah. Anytime you're able to promote,
00:47it's because you get to see what guys do every single day, right?
00:49It's a body of work.
00:50You know,
00:51you might interview with somebody three or four times on a zoom or have them,
00:54you know, to visit,
00:55but the best indication of what I'm going to get in the future is how those
00:57guys positions have performed in the past,
00:59how they've worked with their teammates.
01:01You know,
01:01when you're able to watch Drew and you're able to evaluate what a Terrence
01:03Ferguson, what a Pat Herbert,
01:05what a Kenyon Sadiq have done,
01:06what a Jamari Johnson have done in the program,
01:08his role in our offense and how it's grown.
01:10He's been a part of it since day one.
01:12You're able to say, okay,
01:12I have a lot of confidence in what this will look like moving forward with
01:15him in a leadership role.
01:16Same thing with coach Hamp.
01:18Our secondary has gotten better every single year that he's been here,
01:20right?
01:21Guys are playing at a high level.
01:22You talk about guys performing beyond their ability,
01:25having some of those guys having their best season,
01:27being a part of our program.
01:28And I think that's a great evaluation for me getting to see it every single
01:31day in this building.
01:32What's it going to look like moving in into the future?
01:34And every one of those guys that had an opportunity to level up,
01:37they would tell you that a lot of that product is because of the players and
01:41the coaches that are around them and what allows them to do that.
01:43I think that's the way you can evaluate a healthy organization is when you have
01:47the opportunity for guys to move up within the organization.
