00:00Hey, welcome to GeForce, I'm Julian, I'm here with Hajime Tabata
00:03and we are going to talk about something I've been excited for for a while
00:06we maybe thought it was coming, Final Fantasy XV on the PC
00:10so Final Fantasy games are gorgeous, we all know this
00:14so now they're going to be on the PC
00:17what does that mean for you as a developer of such a beautiful game?
00:21Ok, generally for Final Fantasy we've usually developed based around the console market up until now
00:27but for this time, for the PC version of Final Fantasy XV
00:30we've got a lot of help from the NVIDIA GamesWork team
00:33and we've incorporated a lot of their technology into the game
00:36to make it really, really the best game it can be
00:38and that's a very important moment I think for the history of the Final Fantasy franchise
00:42and obviously something I'm overjoyed with personally as well
00:45A couple months ago back at GDC in San Francisco
00:48we saw some Final Fantasy XV gameplay footage using GameWorks technology
00:53and somebody asked why, and you said it's a tech test
00:57so that was a bit of a fib
01:00but I forgive you, I forgive you
01:02so what are some of the GameWorks things that have been incorporated into Final Fantasy XV?
01:07I mean just to straighten that out, it actually was a tech test
01:11it wasn't a full game, you couldn't have played it at that time
01:13so it wasn't really a lie
01:15when I was asked are you planning on doing a PC version of the full game
01:19I said no comment, but what we've shown at that time was only a tech test
01:22Alright, alright, you're technically correct, fair enough
01:25so we see things in this game like hair works, glow
01:29when you're developing this game do you think it adds something to it new?
01:33something more interesting?
01:34I mean Final Fantasy XV is a game that the real selling point of it
01:38is this beautiful world and the sense of immersion in that world
01:41obviously the quality of the graphics and those kinds of expressions in the environment
01:47really directly links to that appeal of the game
01:49and certainly in order to take it to that next level and create a quality of graphics
01:54that would make even players who've previously played the console games
01:57want to come back and pick it up and play the game again
02:00was something we aim for
02:01and in order to do that we really felt that NVIDIA's GamesWorks physics simulations
02:07and all that technology was something that we had to make use of for that
02:10and that really allowed us to do that
02:11and I think that has very much contributed into making the graphics of that level that we aim for
02:16well as a fan of these big fantasy RPGs and as a PC gamer this is just a marriage made
02:21in heaven
02:21I cannot wait to actually get to see it on my rig at home
02:25when's that gonna be?
02:27we've actually got a fully playable version of the game here today at this wonderful event that you guys have
02:31put on
02:33and if you can actually pick it up and have a play with the game today
02:36then what we plan on doing is taking the reactions and the feedback we get from what we see from
02:40people today at that event
02:41and working to make the game even better and polish it even further
02:44and we'll get the full release version out, it should be sometime early 2018
02:47ok, early 2018, not a tech test
02:50nope, that is the full game
02:52ok, full game, early 2018, looks beautiful, I'm gonna go play it right now
