00:11Nero, the hero of DMC4, is back after 10 years
00:16and we just had to sit down with the games director to find out what took so long
00:37This is a direct sequel to DMC4. It takes place several years after DMC4 and Nero has been gifted the
00:43neon Devil May Cry sign from Dante
00:45which is actually a detail that's not mentioned in the game but in a novelization
00:51So Nero uses it to set up his own mobile demon hunting agency and that's how our story begins
01:02You'll find that there's a lot of new stuff but what we can talk about right now specifically is Nero's
01:07new weaponized robotic arms
01:09which he uses for hunting demons that we call Devil Breakers
01:12You'll be able to catch a couple hints as to what they'll be capable of if you pay careful attention
01:16to the gameplay in the trailer
01:17but you can look forward to hearing more details in Gamescom
01:24It's been 10 years since DMC4
01:26So my boss came to me and said that in order to keep it relevant for today
01:30we'll need to make something that you can take one glance at and know that it's quality
01:34So we chose to make it with a photorealistic graphic style
01:37We found though that without the proper care photorealism combined with gaming animation can lead to what I refer to
01:43as an uncanny valley of action
01:47So we put a lot of effort in to ensure that the game would still play with that tight Capcom
01:51play control
01:52But still feel at home with realistic graphics
01:55We'd love for fans to pay careful attention to how that feels
02:01After making DMC4 we plan on going right into making the special edition but that fell through at the time
02:09We eventually did follow through with that three years ago however
02:12And at that point lots of the dev members wanted to try their hand at making a new one
02:16So that's what I'm most excited about
02:18That we get to make the game that we wanted to make for 10 years
