00:06First of all, why did you choose to quote James Baldwin in your speech
00:10and talk about what kind of politicians we should elect?
00:14And also, how are you going to celebrate this evening?
00:16So, I'll do the easy answer first, which is that I'll celebrate with the cast.
00:21A lot of them are here, where I think we're about like 60 or 70 people,
00:25and with the actors.
00:25So, why I quoted James Baldwin is because I think the world is at a moment
00:30when we are getting more information than ever about the wrongdoings
00:35made towards children at several wars going on at the moment.
00:39And I feel personally, I have two small kids.
00:43And to be personal for a moment, like me and most people around me have been
00:48at times crying a lot, weekly, daily, feeling incapable of doing stuff
00:53because we're seeing Palestinian children suffer, we're seeing people in Ukraine suffer,
00:58people in Sudan suffer.
01:00You know, there doesn't seem to be any accountability at the moment.
01:04And I can mention many other conflicts, so I hope that you won't make a case
01:09of who I mentioned and didn't mention.
01:11Any child that dies at war is a responsibility for all adults that elect politicians.
01:16And in dictatorships, which we're seeing a lot, very strong men.
01:19We're in a time of strong men again.
01:21And I think of Hannah Arendt, who taught us about what happened during the Holocaust
01:26and the Second World War that I have, you know, in my family suffered tremendously.
01:30I talked about this in context of the film.
01:32My grandfather was a resistance fighter during the war.
01:35And when you're young, you think, oh, these things are far away in time.
01:38But actually, it happened quite recently, and it happens again and again.
01:43And as an artist, I'm not a politician, but I do believe that we need
01:47in a unanimous thing, cross the aisle, as we say in America, or as they say in America,
01:52to be more collaborative about how we protect children in conflict situations,
01:58but also in society in general.
