00:12This was inspired by a lot of different stories, but one in particular, I had a friend who actually
00:19lost, he was on financial ruin, lost, and he figured out that he did have Bitcoin from years
00:25ago, but he did not have the pin code or the seed phrases and truly went on this journey
00:29to try to recover it.
00:31And some of the movie is inspired from other stories, but it's really based around that
00:35one.
00:36And it was just absolutely astonishing to me that people would have that amount of money
00:40on a drive that if you lose your pin code or your seed phrases, it's gone.
00:44In this case, though, if you take it into self-custody, so if you bought Bitcoin and you
00:49take it into your own Trezor wallet, you're not online at all.
00:53You're on your own wallet, you have your own seed phrases, your own pin code, and you're
00:56the custodian of it.
00:58So you could do it two ways.
00:59You could either keep it online or you could take it into self-custody.
01:02Most people want to have it in self-custody.
01:03No, no, no.
01:04Most people don't want it in self-custody.
01:06It's just too hard to speak.
01:07Well, it's a lot of responsibility.
01:08Responsibility, yeah.
01:09And if you don't give the seed phrases to your girlfriend, wife, or whatever, and something
01:13happens to you, it's gone.
01:14Somebody gets access to your seed phrases, it's gone.
01:17This is really proof of concept for a larger project.
01:20So we're working on developing that currently.
01:25But yeah, we hint to the larger story with my character.
01:31But my character, Kevin, is sort of the mastermind, so to speak, behind the whole thing.
01:37Adrian and I had been discussing our own beat sheet.
01:40You know, we have elements of a full script for the feature already, but there's been a
01:45lot of interest in taking it into a series.
01:47So we're really exploring both options right now.
01:51Yeah, we've been working together for a while.
01:53We have several film projects together.
01:56And this one actually was the one that we've been working on at the, you know, we just,
02:02it was about a year ago.
02:03We have other projects that are, you know, a longer burn, so to speak.
02:08But this came about really quickly, in my mind.
02:11He just called me up.
02:12He said, come play this role I did.
02:14And then now here we are at South Bios.
02:16Yeah.
02:16Perfect.
02:17I had a close personal relationship to the story.
02:20When I heard that story, it just absolutely blew my mind that somebody would have that
02:23amount of money tied to a seed phrase.
02:27And the Kevin role, I couldn't think of anybody else playing it than Adrian.
02:31And so we, like Adrian said, we have a bunch of other projects we're doing.
02:34I called him up and said, you got to do this.
02:36And he read it.
02:36And he's like, yeah, this is great.
02:38Right now, our president is a pro-crypto president.
02:42In fact, he's created his own crypto, as you know.
02:46It's the Trump BTC or whatever you call it.
02:51So, and I think the movement is towards more regulation, but wider adoption and acceptance
03:00of crypto as a tool for finance.
03:04And all of the big financial institutions are now buying Bitcoin and they're moving towards
03:11digital assets.
03:12So it's inevitable.
03:14I mean, it's already here, right?
03:16It's inevitable.
03:17I don't think it's going to get shut down.
03:20So now's the time to buy.
03:23Bitcoin.
03:25I'm like more of a purist, like Bitcoin is the main thing that I buy, although there's
03:31some other cryptocurrencies that would work as well.
03:35Ethereum, of course, and Solana.
03:39Any stable coin, I think, is a good investment.
03:43But you got to be careful.
03:44You might lose your shirt if it's too speculative.
03:46And there's a lot of what they call shit coins out there.
03:49Um, and to the Bitcoin maxis, which I, you know, consider myself, they're all shit coins
03:57except Bitcoin.
03:59Okay.
03:59Because I was going to ask you about your thoughts on Doge.
04:05Look, you know, you can buy it and you can make money on it.
04:09Uh, it's maybe, it's, it's a fun asset to have if you're into, you know, that kind of,
04:16but ultimately Bitcoin is the one true self-custodial currency in which the algorithm and the technology
04:25is actually built for total sovereignty and autonomy and privacy.
04:30Do you think it replaces gold or gold's been gone?
04:34Uh, it, it doesn't entirely replace it.
04:37It's an additional store of value.
04:39And, but Bitcoin, you know, you, you, it, not only, um, can you, is it, um, is it limited?
04:49So there's like only 21 million that will ever be, um, mined as they, as they say.
04:55Uh, so it actually is a rare asset that can, that actually will store value because of that.
05:03So the, it, it heads a hedge for inflation and ultimately you can transport it around
05:09the world at lightning speed.
05:11So, um, it's mobile as well.
05:14Yeah.
05:15Yeah.
05:15You can, you can keep making more of it and depending on who controls the actual algorithm,
05:21they can manipulate it on the backend.
05:24I mean, that's true for a lot of the other, um, cryptocurrencies, but Bitcoin's the one pure
05:31cryptocurrency that cannot be manipulated.
05:33Got it.
05:34Just to add to that, I think what self-custody, what scares a lot of people about it also attracts
05:41a lot of people to it.
05:42Like Adrian said, a lot of people want to control their own destiny.
05:44They want to have the financial freedom and that's really what self-custody is about.
05:49So self-custody is now on Prime, Tubi, Plex, Apple TV, and more platforms to come.
05:54We just had a big screening launch party at South by Southwest.
05:58We're excited about that.
05:59So go watch self-custody.
06:00Great.
06:01Thanks.
06:01Hold on to your stats.
