00:05What is up Overwatch community? This is Jeff from the Overwatch team.
00:09We are here to celebrate Overwatch's second anniversary,
00:13which is coming up very soon.
00:15In fact, the anniversary event is going to start on May 22.
00:20It's super exciting for us.
00:21We now have 40 million players, which is amazing,
00:25and this is a great opportunity for us, the Overwatch team,
00:28to celebrate you all and all of the amazing things
00:31that you have done for the game,
00:33all of the awesome content you have created for the game.
00:36So we have a lot of special stuff planned for this event.
00:40The first thing that I'm excited to talk about
00:42is a brand new free-for-all deathmatch map called Petra.
00:46Petra is beautiful.
00:48There are some really fun gameplay elements to it as well.
00:52For example, there is a mega health pack
00:54in the very center of the map
00:56in an area that becomes increasingly dangerous as the match goes on.
01:00We think you'll find that very fun.
01:02There's parts of the map that are great for open, long-range heroes.
01:07There's parts of the map that are great for short-range heroes.
01:09There's a lot of diversity. We think you'll find it super, super fun.
01:14The other exciting thing that will be coming as part of the anniversary event
01:18is our first ever free-for-all competitive deathmatch season
01:23that you'll get to partake in.
01:25So this is a chance for you to really show the Overwatch community
01:29what your skill is and what your skill is all about.
01:33So for this mini-competitive season,
01:37it will take place on both the Chateau map and the Petra map,
01:41and it will be an all-out contest to see who the best players are
01:44in Overwatch free-for-all competitive deathmatch.
01:48So that should be exciting.
01:49Now there's a lot of other exciting stuff happening as well.
01:53There's going to be a brand new anniversary loot box
01:56that is incredibly special this time.
01:59And the reason it's so special is because not only will you get
02:02a guaranteed anniversary item out of this loot box,
02:07but there will be the opportunity for you to get any item
02:11from any of our seasonal events that's ever happened before.
02:16So, you know, this is the opportunity if you never got that Summer Games skin,
02:21you really want Nihon Genji and you didn't get it before,
02:24you might actually get it in your anniversary loot box
02:27in addition to an anniversary item.
02:29So we think that's going to be really amazing and really change things up.
02:34And along with that, you'll be able to unlock all of the seasonal items
02:39from all of the previous seasonal events that were unlockable
02:43during the anniversary event.
02:45So hopefully you'll really enjoy that.
02:48To go with the theme of celebrating what a great year it's been
02:52and actually what a great two years it's been for Overwatch,
02:56we will also be bringing back a bunch of your favorite select brawls
03:01to the arcade from previous seasonal events.
03:04So, for example, you can play Junkenstein,
03:07Junkenstein's Endless, May Snowball Offensive, Lucio Ball,
03:11Uprising Retribution, the All Heroes versions of those as well, and more.
03:18And they'll be cycling each day it will be a previous seasonal event,
03:23which we think will be really great.
03:25There's some really great cosmetic items too.
03:27I know you all love hearing about those.
03:30There's eight legendary skins and we think they're really impressive.
03:34They're for some of our favorite heroes.
03:36One in particular because you always like a hint.
03:40There's a certain dapper-looking gentleman that you very much asked us
03:44to see what he would look like in formal wear.
03:48He will be coming to this anniversary event.
03:51All in all, we think it's going to be a fantastic celebration.
03:55Mostly we want this event to feel like our way of saying thank you to you,
04:00the community, for creating an incredible two years with us.
04:05We look forward to not only celebrating this anniversary event,
04:09but all the things that are going to come afterwards.
