08:48So, Yamanaka-san, can you tell us a little bit about the development philosophy behind Kill-to-Kill?
08:56So of course it's a very big decision in the beginning.
08:59Do we make this 2D or do we make this 3D?
09:02And considering a lot of the fans are anime viewers and working very closely with Studio Trigger,
09:08it became apparent that 3D was the right way to go in developing this.
09:13So the 2D fighting game has very high barrier to entry and fans might be turned off by just looking
09:18at it.
09:19So we wanted to make this easily accessible to fans of the Kill-to-Kill franchise.
09:49And of course, that means that we really wanted to, I think we can all agree with Kill-to-Kill
09:53fans out there.
09:54that Kill-to-Kill the anime was a very intense anime.
09:57So how do we capture that intensity and really bottle it, package it, and put it into a video game?
10:02So recreating that vibe and that feeling was really kind of at the core of the development process.
10:31And that easy to pick up, hard to master philosophy.
10:36We wanted to force the fans of the anime franchise to be able to enjoy the game and execute very
10:41flashy, intense combo.
10:44But at the same time, you'll, as you get better, understand that the game isn't as shallow as they look.
10:50At first glance, I know we have here at EVO a lot of hardcore fighters and players out there.
11:16So really, when someone who understands Kill-to-Kill the franchise picks up this game, I think there'll be the
11:22natural sort of evolution of,
11:25oh, if you turn Kill-to-Kill into a game, if you turn Kill-to-Kill into a game,
11:26this is, of course, what it would look like.
11:28So it's going to feel very comfortable for people picking it up for the first time who understand Kill-to
11:33-Kill.

12:35And as far as the story itself, Nakashima Kazuki, the original creator of Kill-to-Kill was very heavily involved
12:42in overseeing the story development process and even wrote some chapters itself.
12:53So I think we can call this an original official story.
13:04And I think it's safe to say, but the main character is actually going to be Satsuki.
13:14So the story is going to focus around Satsuki and we'll see what kind of story unfolds.
13:29And that's all the time we have to preview Kill-to-Kill.
13:32So I know it's a very early look, very early build.
13:36But there's going to be a lot more coming.
