00:07The Bureau is facing a crisis
00:09that they have never seen before
00:12and with that
00:13enters Jesse as well
00:15which in its own way is a breath
00:17of fresh air into this environment
00:19Jesse is clearly meant to be
00:21a juxtaposition for
00:23what's happening currently in the Bureau
00:25like you know there's this old guard
00:27you know old guys who've
00:29clearly let things go really bad
00:31and then this young woman comes in and is gonna
00:33you know set things right
00:34yeah I mean
00:36it's a new kind of an experience
00:39that needs a new kind of a hero
00:41the feeling that Jesse has
00:43through her life is that she
00:45feels like she doesn't belong and it comes
00:47sometimes from
00:49a place of her seeing
00:51a side in reality
00:53that others don't she sees
00:55that there's more to the world
00:57than what people know of
00:58Jesse is not a stranger to
01:01the you know unexplained
01:03something happened in her childhood
01:04that you know was really tragic
01:07very traumatic almost cataclysmic
01:09that affected her whole family
01:11her whole town
01:13and she's you know ever since then
01:15looked for the answers of what happened
01:17what did that event
01:19change her into really
01:20and that's the kind of answers
01:23that she comes to seek at the start of control
01:25she maybe has
01:27a kind of an emotional
01:29connection to this world
01:30that maybe our previous
01:33protagonists haven't initially had
01:35it's something that even though
01:37she's not familiar with the place
01:38as soon as she gets there
01:40there's this strange connection
01:42that is born where she
01:44feels maybe that
01:46in the first time in her life
01:48that she's arrived to a place
01:50where she belongs
01:51this now finally seems like
01:54potentially a place where she
01:56can start finding those answers
01:58she is after
02:00she's able to see that
02:02hey these things actually
02:04are part of my
02:06life part of reality
02:07they are true so there's a sense of
02:10vindication that is happening as well
02:12and like Piro has been also
02:14looking for the answers but
02:16they're like methods are also so
02:17different like Piro is all about science
02:20about order
02:21and about like you know researching
02:23the heck out of everything
02:25and then like Jessie has always had
02:27these paranatural things happen to her
02:30kind of like as a second nature
02:31she you know intuitively understands
02:34these things
02:35Jessie doesn't belong to Piro
02:37in Piro everything like all the materials
02:39are durable and very functional
02:42and bespoke so Jessie had to have like
02:46very casual clothing
02:48very worn out
02:50so she could stand out
02:52from the Piro officials
02:55actually been amazing
02:56to have somebody like Kelly working
02:58with us we haven't
03:00done such detailed
03:02costume design before
03:04we have an actual expert people who
03:06understands how clothes are created in design
03:08to look into it and work together
03:10with the actors and see what works and what doesn't work
03:12this costume design
03:14is not fashion design
03:15fashion design comes from the outside
03:17and it concentrates on
03:20aesthetics features
03:21but the costume designers
03:24build the costume up from the inside
03:26the character so you have to express
03:28different things with the costume
03:30so I see that actually character concept artists
03:34are costume designers
03:36and the costume designers are character artists
03:38in a way that we are building
03:40the character up in a similar
03:42with the similar methods
03:45and when we started thinking about Jessie
03:48as a character Courtney
03:50immediately came to mind
03:52that she would be perfect in this role
03:54and she's already familiar with our processes
03:56she's running through the gauntlet once
03:58so you know next time around
04:00it's gonna be like you know even
04:02faster and cooler
04:04I'm looking at this as
04:08an experience that we built with people
04:10who we trust
04:11and Courtney is one of those people
04:14I mean I'm honored for sure absolutely
04:16that you guys would think of me
04:18for some like you know a big new step
04:20in your storytelling experience
04:23I mean that in itself makes me really happy
04:26and I'm excited to be a part of that kind of
04:29revolution of a new type of game
04:31I'm super excited about it
04:33I mean the second Sam called me
04:34I was like uh it wasn't even a question
04:36I was like yes and yeah
04:38I mean Jessie seems really badass
04:40and I'm excited to play her
