00:00Ahoy there, ladies!
00:03Stars from Britain's best-loved shows are jetting off for a holiday showdown.
00:08Anyone else nervous?
00:10Legends of Corrie, I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Loose Women and The Chase are competing against their
00:16fellow castmates.
00:18Hey, no road rage, please.
00:21To prove they can deliver the best holiday adventure.
00:24You like that break a bit too much.
00:26I'm not even pressing the break.
00:27Each famous face.
00:29Can we get back to coronation, please?
00:31O-M-G!
00:32DJ Destroyer!
00:33Will plan their dream day in the sun.
00:35We are loose women. Together we can do anything.
00:38And at the end of the week, they'll vote to decide who will be crowned the greatest escaper.
00:44Are we all thinking, I want to win?
00:47Yes.
00:48Only one of us can be the greatest escaper.
00:51Who is it gonna be?
01:00Along the southern coast of Portugal lies the Algarve.
01:03Famous for its golden beaches, picturesque villages and endless sunshine.
01:08The perfect battleground for this week's celebrities.
01:12Three ex-campmates from I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
01:15They survive the jungle together, but can they survive an actual holiday?
01:20The first of those three celebs is queen of the ballroom, Oti Mabusi.
01:24I love travelling. The freedom, the drinks, the naps.
01:30I need a cocktail and the sun. I think my day will win.
01:34I just want to always be the best and do my best every single time.
01:40Hot on her heels is ex-campmate number two.
01:44Radio One breakfast DJ, Dean McCulloch.
01:47I take my holidays very seriously.
01:50I'm definitely the one to plan everything because I love it.
01:53I even love getting up really early in the morning and going to the airport.
01:57Everyone rolls their eyes, but I like it.
01:59Where's your favourite piece you've been on holiday?
02:01Turkey.
02:01Oh my God, I love Turkey.
02:03I am from Antalya.
02:04Oh, I went to Antalya to get my teeth done.
02:05No.
02:06These are Antalya's finest.
02:07I may not be good at a Bushtucker trial, but what I'm really good at
02:11is putting together an award-winning five-star holiday.
02:17Just don't stress everyone, I've got this.
02:22And last to arrive is the legend of the boxing ring,
02:24the one and only Barry McGuigan.
02:27I'm hoping to win.
02:29I want to put on a really fabulous day that they really enjoy.
02:32And I'm also looking forward to revealing my competitive edge as well.
02:3813.9 kilos.
02:40Is that good?
02:41Very on the weight.
02:42Great.
02:44Bye, man.
02:46Hello.
02:47Good morning.
02:49Hello.
02:49Oh, we're going to get a hurry, man.
02:53A three-hour flight from the UK, the Algarve stretches across
02:56Portugal's southern Atlantic coastline.
02:59Look at this.
03:00Barre.
03:01It's Barre.
03:03Oh.
03:04Who's got the biggest room?
03:06I bet you it's Barre.
03:07Not me.
03:07With your size, everything is bigger.
03:11I have absolutely no idea what OT and Dana planning.
03:15None, whatsoever.
03:16To be honest, I'm ready for anything.
03:19I love to throw myself in all the most weirdest situations ever.
03:25So whatever you want to throw my way, I'm totally up for it.
03:29I have a funny feeling that we're going to wake up in the morning
03:31and Barry's going to be stood at the end of my bed with some boxing gloves.
03:34Right, you. Up.
03:35And the fact that he has control of a whole day of this trip,
03:38I do worry that it will involve endurance.
03:42Three stars, three dream days, but only one winner.
03:47Cheers.
03:48To get in here in one piece.
03:49Yes.
03:51And now the crack begins.
03:53I'm really looking forward to this whole experience with you guys.
03:57I hope so.
03:58It's going to be better.
03:58Because I'm with you two, I kind of think at any moment that
04:01either Ant and Dak are going to walk in and be like,
04:03Dean, it might be.
04:05Yeah.
04:06Yeah.
04:07We're going to have a good time.
04:08We know we are.
04:08I know all this seems quite nice and lovely, but this is a competition.
04:11Yes.
04:12We're only in business.
04:13And there can only be one winner.
04:14I'm looking at a world champion boxer here and a two-time Strictly champion.
04:17I'm just going to hold my hands up and say, I would love to win.
04:21And you two, you two could go home. Losers.
04:24Well, that's a genuine possibility.
04:26I am prepared to accept that.
04:28No, you're not.
04:29Are you?
04:30Well, not really.
04:31That was a lie.
04:32Yeah.
04:33No.
04:38Oti's the first to show off her perfect day out.
04:41And she's getting help from customer helper Gio to turn her ambitious wishlist into a reality.
04:47Everything has been planned. Adventure, fun, laughter, and a good time.
04:53I think my day will win because I'm giving them variety.
04:57Good morning.
04:58Good morning.
04:59How are you this morning?
05:00Oh, I'm feeling amazing.
05:01Look at the sun, blue sky.
05:03Isn't it beautiful?
05:03I'm so excited about today.
05:05So my first idea is off-road baggies.
05:08Oh, okay.
05:08That's wild, unexpected.
05:10It's just that element of just pushing yourself.
05:13Yeah.
05:13And getting on something that you've never got on before.
05:16Yeah, yeah.
05:16And then just going as fast as possible.
05:19Do you have an idea where we can get?
05:20Can you sort them out for me?
05:22Absolutely.
05:23100%.
05:23Do they go fast?
05:24That's what I need to know.
05:25Well, that depends on the driver.
05:28She's told us to bring a change of clothes.
05:31Yes.
05:31That worries me, Barry.
05:32That means we're either getting sweaty or dirty.
05:35And I don't want to do any of that.
05:36Or both.
05:37It would be really lovely for us to have lunch somewhere.
05:40Which is really nice and authentic.
05:42So there's this beautiful little hidden gem.
05:45Where the locals would kind of go.
05:46That sort of thing.
05:47Off the beaten track, if you will.
05:49And I think you're going to really enjoy it.
05:50Do you think she's going to get us dancing?
05:52Of course she is, yeah.
05:53She's got to be.
05:54The boys know that I love to dance.
05:56So I would love to get the boys moving.
05:59So we have this lovely little traditional folk group.
06:02To kind of give you guys that little taster.
06:05You'll have a great time.
06:06You grew up in some musical theatre, so that's your thing.
06:09Yeah, listen.
06:10This is very much in my wheelhouse.
06:12Yes.
06:13I love busting a move.
06:14But I'm not sure if I want to do it on holiday.
06:18Do you know what I mean?
06:19I've been very competitive, but also good about today.
06:22I don't think they'll expect the first activity.
06:25I think those things that we're doing with the adventure,
06:28that will cater very much to Barry.
06:30But the dancing, that also cater very much to Dean.
06:33So I'm feeling like, if I can get just two ticks from the boys,
06:37I have to have this in the bag, right?
06:41Hello.
06:42Hey, hey, hey.
06:42Morning.
06:44Hi.
06:45Hi.
06:45Whilst Gio puts the finishing touches to Oti's day,
06:48the escapers are heading 12 miles north to the Moorish 12th century castle at Padern.
06:53The perfect place for her first surprise.
06:56A bit of sightseeing.
06:58This is one of the castles that is actually on the flag of Portugal.
07:03So I thought that we just come here and we just admire some of the history
07:07and the culture that comes with being in Portugal.
07:10Are you being serious?
07:12Yes.
07:12No, no, she is, she is.
07:13I think it was great.
07:13So we're going to stand here and look at this castle all day?
07:15Sure.
07:16Brilliant.
07:18I'm just joking.
07:19I hate you!
07:21We're riding on off-road!
07:23Oh my God!
07:30Now you're joking.
07:32Well done.
07:33You saved it.
07:33You saved it.
07:35That was great.
07:35Because up until now, this was getting boring.
07:39I love adventure and I love adrenaline.
07:41I love getting myself to a place where I'm like, this scares the life out of me,
07:46but I'm going to do it because it does.
07:48Come on.
07:49Barry, how are you driving?
07:51Get ready to eat dust, guys!
07:53Maybe I should've told you before now, I've been disqualified seven times for speeding.
07:57Wow.
07:58No you haven't.
07:59Yeah.
08:00Oi!
08:02Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
08:03Tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee
08:05-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee
08:06-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee-tee!
08:06Oh, speed it!
08:08Come on, Barry!
08:09Ah!
08:10Ah!
08:13This is…
08:42I love speed, I just love it.
08:44Love the risk and the danger.
08:47There was one point where I did fear for my life.
08:49I thought to myself, has Barry McGrigan ever passed his driving test?
08:53Because we were going on a single lane and Barry tried to overtake Voday.
09:02Portugal is the same side of the road as us, wasn't it?
09:05I am!
09:06I don't know!
09:08Can't help us, Barry!
09:10We're on the right, don't worry!
09:16She's leaving us for a duck, Barry!
09:18Oh no!
09:20Not the fuck!
09:28Oh my god! New place! Dirty!
09:31This morning was so much fun.
09:32I mean, look at me.
09:34I'm grey and brown and dirty but you've got the biggest smile on my face.
09:40Woohoo!
09:41I really think that this morning I gave them a little bit of a taste of me.
09:45I loved it.
09:46I thought you were going to let me pass.
09:48Barry!
09:49This is not the Formula One!
09:51That was 10 out of 10.
09:53I would give that a solid 10 out of 10.
09:55I'd give it 12 out of 10.
09:57Yeah.
09:57Fantastic.
09:57And I think that the fact that this is only her first activity out of three, God knows
10:02what the rest of the day has.
10:03I mean, we were exhausted.
10:04We're ready for an afternoon nap.
10:08Fresh from her victory, Oti's taking the boys for lunch in the sleepy village of Alta,
10:14famous for its natural springs.
10:16I tell you what, we will not be able to beat that.
10:19Excitement and enthusiasm and fun.
10:22It was fun.
10:22I was great.
10:23But you get very competitive as well.
10:25What do you think you get it from?
10:27When I was a kid I was always into sport.
10:29Then I got into boxing.
10:31Bingo.
10:32I knew right away this was going to be something I could be really good at.
10:37You know, wanting to be successful and wanting to be the best at something,
10:40like I suppose you did in your dancing.
10:43You have the sort of drive that would have made you the very best.
10:47Yeah, yeah.
10:47It feels good when you work hard and you achieve something.
10:51I believe that part of me comes from my parents really because my dad,
10:55of course we grew up in South Africa and it was really tough.
10:58And being a lawyer, seeing him wake up every morning,
11:01really work hard and also defend people.
11:04Yeah.
11:05But then come back home and then continue working.
11:07And that became the culture of the family.
11:09And my dad is like, if I'm working hard, you guys have to work hard as well.
11:13Because I'm not always going to be around.
11:14Yeah.
11:15And my mom was always about the sports.
11:17I started doing national competitions when I was seven, eight years old.
11:22So I was really young.
11:23And every single sport that we did, my mom was like,
11:25if you're going to use your time, you've got to be the best.
11:30And you've got to work.
11:31Isn't that interesting?
11:31And you really have to push.
11:33When you're a dancer, like your body is your job.
11:38And it's really difficult because we have to retire so young.
11:42Yeah.
11:43How are you doing?
11:45Oh my God.
11:45For you, this one is salad of Octopus.
11:47Great.
11:48And this one is fresh cold salad.
11:49This one is from Algarve.
11:52Enjoy your meal.
11:52Thank you very, very much.
11:54I'm going to dig in.
11:56I've never had an octopus salad.
11:58Barry, do you remember how we were in the jungle?
12:00You would finish all my meals.
12:17Three stars from I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here are in the Algarve,
12:20competing to deliver the best holiday adventure and be crowned the champion Great Escaper.
12:26Today, Oti Mabusi is in charge and she's planned an activity for Dean McCulloch and Barry McGuigan.
12:31She hopes will give her the edge in the competition.
12:34My activities describe exactly who I am.
12:37Very adventurous.
12:39But then the dance.
12:40The dance is quite important.
12:42I think they'll ease it to it and they'll definitely enjoy it.
12:45And they'll be like, yeah, this is more of what we thought you'd do on holiday.
12:48Oh.
12:51There we go.
12:52Here we go.
12:58Here we go.
13:01This is a folk group who actually do traditional dancing that is, like, known from the area.
13:10OK.
13:11And we are going to get involved!
13:13Yes, Barry!
13:14Yes!
13:14Yes!
13:15We're going to do some dancing!
13:16Come on!
13:17Come on!
13:18I really and truly believe that when you go out and see other people's styles of dance,
13:25that's them sharing their history with you.
13:28Dating back to the 19th century, Corradino is a lively couples dance.
13:33Born, legend has it, when a Spanish man tried to win the heart of a local woman with his nifty
13:38footwork.
13:40I've never ever in my life done this style of dance.
13:43OK.
13:43I don't care.
13:45You can pick it up like that.
13:46Yes, I've already picked it up.
13:47But that's a good point.
13:47And he's just a dancer.
13:48Yes.
13:49It's just this idiot that's going to look like a clown.
13:53Yay!
13:55Woo!
13:56Well done.
13:57Congratulations.
13:58Are you ready to learn?
14:00Oh, yes!
14:02I'm completely out of my comfort zone, and you know that.
14:06It is not me.
14:08I think he thought we were just coming to observe the dance.
14:11But when the dance teacher turned around and said, no, it's your turn, I could feel Barry quivering.
14:16You're going to put this arm like this.
14:20OK.
14:21Here.
14:21Yeah, OK.
14:23Now we're going to go middle steps like this.
14:26Now you're going to run.
14:28Faster?
14:29Yeah.
14:29Let's go faster.
14:30Faster.
14:31Faster.
14:31Faster.
14:32Oh, my God.
14:32Oh, my God.
14:34That's good.
14:36We went so fast.
14:37That's it.
14:38That's it.
14:39OK.
14:40Let's do it again.
14:41You are exactly my demographic to teach.
14:45We can win Strictly Berry.
14:47I'm feeling very excited.
14:48I love trying something new when I come on holiday, and I would never get the chance to do this
14:52otherwise.
14:53But it is very, very fast.
14:54And the kids are like five, and they're doing it really well.
14:56Is anyone else nervous?
14:58Yeah.
14:58Yes.
14:59Can we start?
15:00Yes.
15:01Let's go.
15:03One, two, three.
15:04One, two, three.
15:05One, two, three.
15:07One, two, three.
15:09Pitch.
15:10Up.
15:11One, two, three.
15:12One, two, three.
15:14Up the knee.
15:15Now it's a speed.
15:17One.
15:18Arm in there.
15:19Yes.
15:19Speed it.
15:20Yes.
15:20Fast.
15:21Fast.
15:22Go fast.
15:23grounded again.
15:25One, two, three.
15:26Woman's face.
15:27One, two, three.
15:28One, two, three.
15:29One, two, three.
15:31Two.
15:40Three.
15:41One, two, three.
15:44One, two, three.
15:45Yay!
15:46Very good. Thank you very much.
15:48Thank you so much.
15:49What would you give us out of ten?
15:50Eight.
15:51Oh!
15:52I can't handle an eight! Even for me?
15:56No, you're a ten.
15:57Thank you, darling.
15:57You're a full ten.
15:58That's my girl.
16:00I loved the dancing, and they were all just beautiful people,
16:05the whole lot of them.
16:05But it was great fun, and they were very patient teachers.
16:09So, yeah, an eventful day, and I genuinely really enjoyed it.
16:13The dancing was amazing.
16:14When you see the little kids, and they love it so much,
16:17and then you see how they're guided by the older generation,
16:20and you can see how community is supposed to work.
16:23It took me back home to South Africa.
16:25I love the fact that they still do this,
16:28and it feels really like a community.
16:30And the reason why I started dancing in South Africa,
16:34we had that apartheid era.
16:36There were no places where little black kids could dance,
16:39and so my mom formed her own dance school.
16:42We were safe.
16:43Mm-hm.
16:43We had ambition in that room.
16:46We were focused, and we were doing something useful for our future.
16:50And that tonight reminded me of why, you know, I love dance,
16:55and I stayed in it.
16:56It's just that community.
16:57Yeah.
16:57Well, I found out more about Oti today,
16:59stuff we didn't find out in the jungle.
17:01So she grew up in a very difficult time,
17:04great mom, very competitive, great teacher, patient.
17:08Getting to hear her talk about her family
17:10and what led her to where she is today
17:14was really, really special.
17:16She has determination and ambition,
17:19but she has such a big heart.
17:21I really hope my day was successful.
17:24I definitely think Barry and Dean enjoyed it,
17:26and then at the end, big smiles all around.
17:29Barry? Yeah?
17:30Good luck tomorrow.
17:32You've got a tough act to follow.
17:33OK.
17:33To bed we go.
17:34Let's rock and roll.
17:45Today, it's Barry's chance to shine,
17:48and he's confident that his day has all the winning ingredients.
17:52I think I've got a wonderful day planned.
17:55I don't think it.
17:56I know it.
17:56For me, I want to give Oti and Dean some escapism.
18:00The thing I like doing most of all is relaxing
18:02and enjoying just quiet time,
18:05and it'll be interesting to see what they're like when they chill out.
18:10There's a slight air of trepidation
18:12because I don't know what's happening,
18:14and there's something telling me
18:15that Barry doesn't know what's happening either.
18:18He's a bit unorganised, I would say, but...
18:22All day yesterday, he thought we were in Spain.
18:27We had to remind Barry last night
18:28at the Portuguese folk dance that we were in Portugal.
18:32It's not looking good.
18:37I got a bit of sick from Oti about burning the rice and beans
18:41when I was in the jungle.
18:43OK.
18:43So, I would love to cook them something nice, somewhere beautiful.
18:49I'd like to be out on the sea.
18:50We can work a lot with that.
18:52OK.
18:52So, what about a luxury boat?
18:54You can go on, you can cook them a meal.
18:56There's a little market near where the boat's going to be.
18:58You can shop around.
19:00Barry, each morning, tries to coax me to go to the gym with him.
19:03He does.
19:04He thinks it's a lovely time, but it's just not my idea
19:07of a very nice day out.
19:08I'd love to do something physically demanding.
19:12Yeah, OK.
19:13I like all that sort of stuff.
19:14So, what do you recommend?
19:16Cool.
19:17I think kayaking would tick the box.
19:20What do you think?
19:20And if you're having fun, you don't feel like you're working out.
19:23Exactly.
19:23Yeah.
19:23I think we've got something very special planned.
19:26It's both exciting and beautiful.
19:28I'm very much looking forward to seeing what Oti and Dean think about it.
19:35Barry's first activity is just east of the popular resort town of Albafera.
19:39It's meant to be a chilled out treat, but like everything Barry does,
19:42it involves a bit of a workout.
19:46Look at this!
19:47We're here at this spectacular looking beach
19:50and I'm going to bring them kayaking.
19:52and we're going to go around the cove
19:54and it's going to be tough, but it's going to be beautiful.
19:57Where are we going?
19:58We are going to poodle along the coast
20:00and look at the spectacular views.
20:02The thing about professional boxing is
20:04it's a game of dropping weight
20:05and watching what you have to eat.
20:07After years and years of that,
20:09I've always kept myself in shape.
20:10I love kayaking.
20:12It's a really good workout.
20:14So I hope they enjoy it.
20:15I know I will.
20:16I hope they will too.
20:17We don't try and race or anything.
20:19It's just a bit of fun.
20:21Why don't I believe that?
20:22He didn't get to overtake it yesterday,
20:24so this might be ding ding run too.
20:25No, no, it's not ding ding run too.
20:27We just want you to be safe and enjoy it.
20:29That would be fine.
20:30As long as we overtake you,
20:31that would be absolutely fine.
20:32If you overtake me, you've had it.
20:34This too, the orange one and the yellow one
20:37are your kayaks.
20:38Wait, like the Portugal flag.
20:40It needs the green.
20:43Oh, is the green on the flag?
20:44It's green, yellow, red.
20:45I think this is Romania.
20:46Oh, is that not the Portugal flag?
20:47No.
20:48What's that?
20:48Safety.
20:49Safety.
20:49It's safety, yeah.
20:51Oh, that's...
20:52Flags are not my strong point.
20:54This is Romania.
20:55This activity is 100% Barry's type on paper.
21:00It's active, you're breaking a sweat,
21:03you're working your upper body,
21:04all of the things that we don't want to do on a holiday.
21:10Bye, guys.
21:10Okay, bye.
21:12Oh, look at that, Oti, look.
21:15Oh, stunning.
21:19Oh, I love this.
21:22Follow you.
21:23Okay, left, right, cha-cha-cha.
21:27Right, left, cha-cha-cha.
21:31Wait, I feel like we're going in the wrong direction.
21:33Oh, no.
21:34I feel like every time you go opposite to me...
21:36Yeah, we're going the wrong way, yeah.
21:38Oh, no.
21:38We've been blown off course.
21:40Yeah.

22:20Good luck!
22:32In the deep blue Atlantic waters of the Algarve,
22:35former boxer Barry McGuigan is taking ex-jungle mates
22:37Oti Mabusi and Dean McCulloch kayaking
22:40in an attempt to win the title of Greatest Escaper.
22:43It's Barry's idea of the perfect day out.
22:46His friends? Not so much.
22:48How do you go in a straight line, Barry?
22:50I just do this.
22:52Oti, can you do what I do?
22:54Yeah.
22:54So we can get a wee better movement?
22:56I'm doing it.
22:58Hey, why are you not rowing?
22:59No.
22:59I mean, I'm done my years on Strucker.
23:01I just don't need this hard work.
23:03My arms are burning.
23:04I was hot in the sand.
23:05And then I thought,
23:06you've got this.
23:08I just hate it so much.
23:11Barry, what's the plan here?
23:12Because I fear I've lost my co-pilot.
23:14She's half asleep.
23:16I mean, I know by the looks of things
23:17you want to make your way round to Alicante.
23:18I want to go out to the Atlantic Ocean.
23:21I know I can tell.
23:22You're not ready for that.
23:23Yeah.
23:24Let's get back to the basin.
23:25Thank you guys.
23:26Okido.
23:27We're going to race.
23:28Yeah.
23:28You ready?
23:29Let's see.
23:29Three, two, one.
23:32Go.
23:35Let's go.
23:36Right.
23:37Come on.
23:38Hey.
23:39Come on.
23:40Go.
23:41Go.
23:42We're actually beating him.
23:43Oh my God.
23:44We're beating Larry.
23:45I know you're beating us.
23:46You're beating me.
23:47Come on.
23:47We're beating him.
23:49Go.
23:49Go.
23:50We're beating him.
23:52Come on.
23:53We're beating him.
23:54No.
23:55We're beating him.
23:56We're beating him.
23:58No.
23:59Oh.
24:00Oh.
24:01We beat you there.
24:02Yes you did.
24:03I have to say.
24:04I had a lovely time and what I loved even more was beating Barry.
24:09Oh yes.
24:10Woo hoo.
24:12Ah.
24:14Ah.
24:15I hope they enjoyed it because after all this is a competition and it's whoever puts
24:20on the best say, I want to win.
24:27Thank you very much Barry.
24:28I appreciate it.
24:29You're welcome.
24:29Yeah it was great.
24:30Thank you Barry.
24:30It was good fun.
24:30Thanks.
24:31It was really inspiring to see you literally still going.
24:34Giving it.
24:35Yeah.
24:36All the gas you had.
24:37And I can't believe you still have it.
24:38That's amazing.
24:39When you're a fighter, it's with you to the day you die.
24:42The day when I stopped boxing, it was a hard thing to come to terms with.
24:46Was it like a loss?
24:47Yeah.
24:48Fierce loss.
24:48The effort that I put in and the pain that I suffered to get into shape.
24:52Yeah.
24:53Was like incredible.
24:55For you, when you had those low moments, those tough moments.
24:58What were they and how did you get over them?
25:00Losing my title in Vegas.
25:02Just over a year after I'd won the title.
25:04And I fought 15 rounds.
25:06What?
25:06Yeah, I fought 15 rounds.
25:08Yeah.
25:08And I was knocked down in the 15th round from sheer exhaustion.
25:12I wasn't hurt.
25:14I was simply unable to hold my hands up.
25:16Wow.
25:16And get out of the way.
25:18So I said, right, that part of my life is finished now.
25:21So.
25:22I was only champion for a year.
25:24And I never regained the title, which was disappointing.
25:26But you have to change and refocus.
25:29That's the way I've lived my life.
25:31I've always been competitive.
25:33I've always wanted to do well at whatever I've done.
25:37Barry really opened up about how hard he pushed himself physically and mentally throughout his career to get to the
25:44success that he has.
25:45It was also really nice to hear Barry talking about grieving the loss of his career.
25:51And something I hadn't really thought of before.
25:53So the fact that he shared that with us and was honest instead that it was really difficult was brave
25:58of him.
25:58Yeah.
25:59And letting go.
26:04The kayaks were challenging because now we have a very relaxed evening.
26:10We're going to be taking them out on a lovely boat.
26:12They're going to have delicious food with a spectacular panoramic view of the coastline.
26:18I'm here today to buy some fish and I'm going to do the cooking this evening.
26:22Didn't you make us eat burnt rice and burnt beans?
26:25I did that many times.
26:27Oh boy.
26:30At home I'm lazy so my wife cooks for me so it's the first time.
26:34I've got a question for you.
26:35Have you ever cooked fish before?
26:37Yes I have.
26:38It's going to be fabulous.
26:39Some good fish.
26:40Red fish here.
26:41Oh.
26:42Vermeil.
26:42Can I hold it?
26:44Yes.
26:45But those are some eyes.
26:46Oh wow.
26:50It slipped out of my hand.
26:51I'm sorry.
26:52Oh give him a clean.
26:54Yeah okay.
26:55Give him a wash.
26:57I'm so sorry.
26:59What is this?
27:00Gal negro.
27:01It's like a chicken.
27:02This is gal who's like a rooster.
27:03Gal negro would be the one.
27:05Okay.
27:05Absolutely.
27:06Can you fill it this for us?
27:07Yeah.
27:07Of course.
27:08That would be great.
27:09I think they'll be apprehensive about my cooking.
27:11No doubt about it.
27:12And I'd be a bit nervous about it because I know that they were given out about lunch.
27:17The burnt beans and rice so I want to do a better job today.
27:20I'm scared because he said Sandra does everything for me.
27:25His wife.
27:25So now I'm like oh she's not here.
27:28Maybe in the jungle he just thought I'm not going to tell everyone that I'm a really good cook.
27:32Otherwise they're going to make me the camp chef.
27:34Yeah.
27:34It's all going to come out today.
27:36Wow.
27:37We don't want to eat the fish eye because that's quite triggering for us.
27:40Yeah.
27:40You want me to take them out?
27:41No, no, no.
27:42Leave them.
27:42Leave them in.
27:43I had to eat them.
27:45I had like 14 of them.
27:47Yes.
27:48I remember now.
27:50Oh, the penny's dropped has it?
27:54Barry's hoping his last surprise will distract Oti and Dean from his terrible cooking skills
28:00by serving them dinner on a luxury catamaran.
28:03Oh, Barry.
28:04It's over this.
28:05No way.
28:06You cannot say I haven't treated you.
28:08Are we going on this boat?
28:09Yes, sir.
28:10No.
28:11We are going out to sea.
28:13No, let's get out of here.
28:15Yeah.
28:16Let's go.
28:18It's good.
28:19All I imagine myself is just being like.
28:24Oti, you're like a Bond girl.
28:29I love it.
28:30This is so beautiful.
28:33I didn't expect this from Barry.
28:35No.
28:35Go on.
28:38Oh, that was so underwhelming.
28:41I mean, he's slaving away in the kitchen right now.
28:43Yes, he is.
28:43So, we are hopeful that this isn't going to turn out like a bush tucker tile.
28:48Oh, yeah.
28:48So, when was the last time you cooked a meal?
28:53Oh, not long back.
28:54A couple of weeks.
28:55And what was it?
28:57Baked potatoes.
29:02And beans and grated cheese.
29:04Oh, for the love of God.
29:05That's it.
29:06And did you put it in the microwave?
29:07Of course it is.
29:13Barry's meal of boiled potatoes and fried fish is finally ready to be served.
29:18A big step up from burnt rice and beans.
29:21Right, guys.
29:22Here we are.
29:24This is giving me flashbacks.
29:25Do you know what I mean?
29:26Yes, yes.
29:29Sandra, your wife would be very proud of this dish.
29:32Well, thank you, Dean.
29:33And in fact, I think when she watches this, she's going to make you do more cooking.
29:36Exactly.
29:37That's the problem.
29:39So, how did you and Sandra meet?
29:40Well, we couldn't not meet because we lived across the road from one another.
29:44So, we grew up with each other, basically.
29:46And how long have you been married?
29:47This is our 44th year.
29:50Wow.
29:51Long time.
29:52I gave Sandy a ring when I was five years old.
29:55When you were five?
29:56Five years old.
29:56I gave her a wedding ring.
29:57She kept it.
29:58Oh, my word.
29:59So, there you are.
30:00I'm still madly in love with her and I hope she's still madly in love with me.
30:04It's amazing.
30:05Barry has done well.
30:07The beginning of the day was hell.
30:08I hated it, but this, the food, everything else, I absolutely loved.
30:15Barry, this has been such a great meal, such a great day, actually.
30:19I didn't expect Barry to want to do stuff like this on holiday and to share a sunset with us.
30:26And it seems almost sentimental.
30:28What a perfect way to end an amazing day from Barry.
30:31The food was great.
30:32The crack was great.
30:33The chats were great.
30:34It was brilliant.
30:35This has been one hell of a day.
30:38To finish off out in our catamaran, I think it's going to be a tough task to measure up to.
30:51Dean is the last to plan his day.
30:53And if he wants to win, he's got a hard act to follow after all the quad bikes and kayaks.
30:58My dream holiday soaks up culture, fun, and I love going out and having a good time.
31:04But I think this morning it might be quite nice to kick back and relax a wee bit.
31:08What is the spa culture like in the Algarve?
31:12So I've got the perfect spa in mind for you.
31:14Very natural.
31:15Keep you in touch with your jungle side as well as a trio.
31:18I don't think Barry's ever been to a spa.
31:20In the jungle, he was constantly brushing his hair, and then his mum gifted him skin care for his skin.
31:25So he's quite a luxurious person.
31:29That might have something to do with it.
31:30Maybe we'll go shopping.
31:32Maybe we'll go shopping.
31:34No, my worst nightmare.
31:35So I love when I go away to be in amongst the trees or on the beach.
31:41So have you heard of razor clam fishing?
31:43No, tell me about it.
31:44Okay.
31:44I used to do this actually back when I was a little boy.
31:47It's actually really therapeutic as well.
31:48Is it?
31:49Yeah, yeah.
31:49Do you think what he does on holiday is something that you would typically do on holiday?
31:54No.
31:54So he's got his work cut out for him.
31:57He's got his work cut out.
31:58I think I'm going to have to lump it.
32:00We've not been able to let our hair down together much since we left the jungle.
32:04Yeah.
32:04So I think to end the trip on a high, I need to take Barry and Odie down the strip.
32:09Love it.
32:10Odie's strength is dancing.
32:12Barry's strength is boxing.
32:15My strength is taking holidays from work.
32:18So I think I've got this.
32:23Where does it look like we are, Odie?
32:24It looks like we are literally in the middle of nowhere.
32:28They're actually heading towards the Spanish border and the Castro Marim Nature Reserve,
32:33where Dean's planning to win over Odie and Barry with a relaxing spa day.
32:38We're here at a salt spa and there is wellness in the air.
32:42Because we've had quite a busy few days and it's time to just kick back, relax and float in the
32:49salty water.
32:50Look at this.
32:51Wow.
32:52Today we're going to be pampered.
32:54We're going to be preened.
32:55That's great.
32:56Barry, you're about to get a glow up and you're going to come out of here like a shiny two
33:00-pence piece.
33:00I don't need to be any more shiny.
33:02Look at my head.
33:04We need to cover ourselves in the salt.
33:07Really exfoliate your body.
33:09And then we just float in the water.
33:10Yeah.
33:11This is the part where I wish I had have gone to the gym, Barry.
33:15They used to have rock hard abdominals.
33:18Now, unfortunately, I've got a duvet over the top of them.
33:21You look wonderful.
33:22We haven't even reached the mud yet.
33:24Are we all right?
33:26Oh!
33:26Yeah.
33:35Oh, babes.
33:39Oh, yeah.
33:46I'm going on holiday with you forever.
33:51Don't think we've forgotten about you at home, because you could also be in with a chance to win a
33:55seven-night holiday to the Algarve, courtesy of Jet 2 Holidays.
34:00We're also throwing in £3,000 spending money, too. Enter now for free. Go to the website before 3pm on
34:07Friday. You must be 18 or over. Good luck.
34:21After two hectic days in the Algarve, Dean's hoping to find the winning formula by giving his old jungle mates,
34:27Oti and Barry, a very different day out.
34:30He's brought them to a salt spa for his favourite activity, relaxing.
34:34Can I let you both into a secret?
34:36Go on.
34:37So I've kept my jungle outfit in a bag in my bedroom, and I've still not washed it.
34:46Yeah, same!
34:49I can't bring myself to put it in the machine. Every time I'm missing you, I just go and sniff
34:53the clothes.
34:54And that pungent smell of cockroaches and fish guts reminds me of you too. You're welcome.
35:01Just the two of us. Only us two.
35:07And now, we bake.
35:10Do you remember those feelings that you felt when you left the jungle?
35:17Yeah. I got out and I was on such a high, and I really wish that that's where it ended,
35:26because I'd been sent quite a few death threats.
35:29I didn't know you had death threats. I've never ever had that.
35:34It was something like 35.
35:3635?
35:37Yeah, it was 35. I think it's classified now as aggravated malicious contact is the official term for it.
35:45My agent said, look, there are threats to come to your work in the morning.
35:50I was like, for what? For, like, saying I'm a celebrity, get me out of here because I didn't want
35:56to be trapped in a box?
35:57Like, what have I said? What have I done? And they said, I don't think it's what you've done. I
36:01think it's who you are.
36:03Yeah.
36:03And then I realized, oh yeah, homophobia is still rife and there's no getting away from that.
36:11Then I start going over the things in my head that I could have done differently.
36:14But now you're dimming your own lights for other people to satisfy them and you can never make anyone happy.
36:22I had the time of my life. I don't regret a single thing, even the screaming.
36:27Yeah.
36:28I was a bit shocked to hear that Dean had death threats. Whoever threatened him, it just sounds ridiculous.
36:35To actually go out and threaten someone is just unacceptable.
36:39I have to remember that as long as my mum is proud of me and my boyfriend is proud of
36:44me, that's all that matters.
36:46Yeah.
36:46Because I won't be able to keep everyone happy because if I was everyone's cup of tea, I'd be a
36:50mug.
36:50Yeah.
36:52And with this clay on us, I think that could be happening pretty soon.
36:55That could be happening as we speak.
37:02Dean's love of mindfulness and nature is also the inspiration for his next activity.
37:07When I'm on holiday, I like to do things that you wouldn't normally get to do.
37:11I had a little look at a chat with Gio and he's recommended this spot, which is very famous for
37:17clam fishing.
37:18It's going to be very relaxing.
37:20Okay.
37:20How many times can you say you went on holiday and you fished for clams, Barry?
37:24No, never done it before.
37:25I've never been fishing and I've never been fishing for clams.
37:29I like my holiday friends to be outside their comfort zone.
37:37Ahoy there.
37:38This is our friend.
37:39Hey.
37:41My name is Christina.
37:42How are you?
37:43Welcome.
37:43Good to meet you.
37:44So today I'm going to show you how to catch razor clams.
37:47Okay.
37:47A much sought after delicacy in the Algarve, razor clams are mollusks that love burrowing into sandy seabeds.
37:54Try and look for hole shape of a number eight.
37:58Okay.
37:58And then we use a technique with salt.
38:00Oh, I see.
38:01So the razor clam inside doesn't like it.
38:03Yes.
38:03It comes to the surface, you grab it.
38:05Let's play a game.
38:07Okay.
38:07Who can collect the most razor clams in ten minutes?
38:11All right.
38:12Right.
38:12Three, two, one.
38:14Go.
38:15I'm going to get over here.
38:17Uh oh.
38:18Here we got it.
38:20Barry's got one everyone.
38:21Get up, get up, get up, get up.
38:23Get ready to catch it.
38:24There you go.
38:25Go on mate.
38:26Go on.
38:26Go on Barry.
38:27Go, go, go.
38:28Oh no.
38:29No.
38:30He's gone.
38:30He's gone.
38:31The clam came out.
38:33Saw by McGuigan.
38:34And run.
38:36I don't like to get my hands dirty looking for food.
38:39I'm not that girl.
38:39I can't say that Odie's having a ball.
38:42And now my back hurts.
38:44I need physio.
38:45I don't think she's quite appreciated the fact that this is a mindful activity of relaxation.
38:52Are you in there?
38:54All right, please don't start punching the sand, okay?
38:57Grab it, grab it, grab it, grab it.
38:59Yeah.
39:01Here we go.
39:02Yep.
39:04Got it.
39:05Yeah.
39:06Got that one.
39:07It will be quite awkward if I set this challenge and I come back for nothing.
39:15Oh God, they just keep winning.
39:19Clams.
39:20Got another one here guys, coming out.
39:23Oh my God, I got one.
39:24Really?
39:24I got one.
39:25Yeah.
39:26Here.
39:27Get it, get it, get it, get it.
39:29And then he's out.
39:29I got one.
39:31I got one.
39:31Yeah.
39:33What is it?
39:34How many have you got?
39:36I've only got two.
39:38Two.
39:39I've got two.
39:41Come on.
39:41The next person to collect the clam wins.
39:45Oh, we just can call it a tie and go eat something.
39:49Are you happy with it being a draw?
39:51No.
39:52It has to be a winner.
39:56Come on.
39:57Come on.
39:57Here we go.
39:58Yeah.
39:58Yeah, now.
39:59I did it, I did it, I did it.
40:00Hold.
40:01Yeah, yeah.
40:02There you go.
40:04Well done.
40:05Brilliant.
40:05You're the winner.
40:07I think this has been a roaring success.
40:09I mean, we're all feeling positively relaxed.
40:11I mean, I'm having a ball.
40:12I loved it.
40:13Didn't get enough bites.
40:14Got two.
40:15I can't think of anything worse.
40:17And for a girl with big boobs, bending over is not an ideal thing to do on my vacation.
40:24You know, I actually think that I was a fisherman in a past life.
40:27Is that right?
40:28Have I ever told you this?
40:30What are you laughing at?
40:32What?
40:33Why are you laughing?
40:35I just don't see it for you.
40:36What?
40:41It's the final night of the trip.
40:42And I've got one more trick up my sleeve.
40:44We have had the most relaxing day.
40:47And now it's time to hit the infamous Alba Fear Strip.
41:00For our last activity, I thought I would take you back to a place that I came to exactly
41:07ten years ago.
41:08Because I came to the Alba Fear Strip, but I can't remember leaving.
41:11Oh, God.
41:12And look, I'm five years sober this year.
41:15Oh!
41:15And I thought that I would show you guys how you can still have fun in a night out.
41:21In sobriety?
41:22Exactly, Barry.
41:23What made you stop drinking?
41:26Alcoholism is in my family.
41:30And there was one Monday I was going to work.
41:32On the way out, I was stepping over bottles that were due to go down to the bin.
41:35And there was a two-liter bottle of vodka, four bottles of wine, and all these tins of
41:41gin and tonics.
41:42Never in my life did I ever think I would drink that much.
41:46And I knew I had a problem.
41:47And I said to my best mate, I think I'm just going to stop drinking for a month and just
41:51see what happens.
41:53And the one month turned into six months, turned into a year.
41:57Having the courage to do that takes an awful lot of effort, so congratulations on that.
42:01Thank you, mate.
42:02I know you get it.
42:02I know you get it, mate.
42:04And I thought tonight is the night for us to let our hair down, get our dancing shoes on,
42:08and party!
42:11Cheers, baby!
42:12This is something new, the cast for Slap Part 2, and this time we're going to get funky.
42:20We met in the jungle, but we never had a night out.
42:24It's like a night to remember.
42:26And that was something that always made me really sad.
42:28And, like, now with you, I don't know what I expected.
42:34It's gonna work!
42:35I spend my life in clubs DJing, and that is my new party medicine.
42:41Bring all your friends, I'm DJing in there in a bit.
42:43It's exactly how I like to spend my nights out in holiday.
42:46So the only thing I can remember about my night here was the buck and bronco.
42:49You have to get on it for all time's sake.
42:53Let's go!
42:53Who's got a euro?
42:55To the left!
42:57Take it back now, yo!
42:58Dino!
42:59Dino!
42:59Come on!
43:00Dino!
43:01Take it back now, yo!
43:02Woo!
43:052015 Dean wouldn't actually believe this.
43:08Making friends with Oti and Barry and coming back here to show them the chaos that I used to be,
43:14it really has felt special.
43:17Come on!
43:18It's brilliant!
43:19What happened this time?
43:20It was great to see Dean doing this thing.
43:22He's really good at what he does, and you can see how he gets the audience all worked up.
43:30Seeing Dean in his natural habitat was, I think, just unforgettable.
43:36He loves DJing, he loves clubbing, and he's done this all so good.
43:42Shall we have a nightcap?
43:44We have to have a nightcap.
43:45What are we thinking?
43:46Whiskey!
43:47Camomile tea!
43:51Oti, Barry and Dean have each shared their perfect day out, and now they must decide who will be crowned
43:58the champion Great Escaper.
44:01Each one of your days have been fantastic. I hope you've enjoyed mine.
44:04Yeah, we did.
44:05So I think we've got to come to the stage now where we've got to make our mind up on
44:09who's won.
44:10Oti, your day was pretty amazing.
44:13When you surprised us with these incredible buggies, it was phenomenal.
44:18It's almost like you picked it especially for me.
44:21Barry, I did not know what to expect with your day, but I loved learning about you, Barry.
44:25I love it when you talk about how much you love your wife.
44:28And we went on the catamaran, and then you cooked, and we didn't die of food poisoning.
44:34We survived!
44:36And then, Dean, the spa was fantastic.
44:40The way you opened up about the jungle.
44:42We hadn't realised what you were going through as a friend.
44:46Dino, the night was incredible.
44:48I've seen you in a whole new light.
44:52This is the real Dean McCullough.
44:54I have to think what things I wish I'd bring my family to do.
44:57And so I'm going to go with Barry.
45:01Yes!
45:02Thank you very much.
45:03Oti, of all the things, those fast buggies, that was the thing I really loved.
45:08So, Dino, I'm really sorry. I'm going to go for Oti's day.
45:12Go on, Oti.
45:12Thank you, Oti.
45:13Well done.
45:15The power is in my hand.
45:16Wow.
45:17It's going to be so hard to call this, but my absolute highlight of this whole entire trip
45:22has to be the three of us on the front of that catamaran watching the sunset.
45:27So, Barry.
45:28Yes.
45:28You are my winner.
45:30Yes!
45:32Thank you very much.
45:33It really, really was.
45:34And well done you.
45:35Dean and Barry definitely have surprised me.
45:38I mean, there were bits about Dean that I didn't know.
45:41I mean, just getting to know who Barry was and how he lights up when he talks about his wife.
45:46We have experienced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity together living in the jungle.
45:50So, the fact that we've came here, we've almost debriefed.
45:53I'm actually a bit sad to be leaving.
45:55This has been the best holiday that I have ever been on.
45:58Group hack!
45:59To the greatest game!
46:00Oh, yeah!
46:03I'm absolutely thrilled to win this.
46:05And of course, the bottom line is I've learned so much more about Dean and Oti.
46:09And they'll be my friends for the rest of my life.
46:12When you win, you have to buy the drinks at the bar.
46:14But that's fine.
46:14We'll see you then.
