00:00Coming up on this episode of Orange County Choppers Original.
00:04Leo's got some family members who have autism,
00:06and autism really affects so many of us.
00:08The chopper tells the story, really.
00:10I was thinking about a sensory bike.
00:12This is the first time that we're using an M8 Harley motor in it.
00:15Bend the round ball all the way around the back of the fender
00:18and then attach the metal.
00:20And that's a bullseye right there!
00:24I ran into some difficulties because I've never really been in this spot.
00:28You know, we didn't start the bike.
00:56We didn't start the bike.
01:02So we just finished the Grey Bull Chopper,
01:04and now, true to OCC fashion, we are on to the next chopper.
01:08And we're going to go pick up Christian and Jim,
01:10and we're going to head down to our buddy Leo's.
01:13We're going to talk to him about what does autism acceptance look like
01:17and how can we create an incredible chopper that actually brings awareness and acceptance.
01:36Welcome to the farm I call of abilities, where we don't recognize disabilities.
01:41The only disability that we really have is not understanding the abilities that these children have.
01:47We're trying to set up a program where we can bring children in that are autistic
01:50and teach them different levels of responsibilities and ways to move about through their lives through equestrian therapy
01:59and also riding four-wheelers.
02:01Every child that is autistic has a level.
02:05I've seen children that come in with a level three that are nonverbal.
02:10They've walked out showing excitement that the horses, they actually can participate and talk about what their experience was.
02:20When they came, couldn't say a word, had no interest in people, and they leave, they just show this brightness,
02:28this happiness that they have.
02:29And it's just, it's the most rewarding thing to understand that I'm the one with the disability and not them.
02:38How are we doing?
02:40Beautiful day for riding.
02:41How are you?
02:41Nice to meet you.
02:42How are you?
02:43Good.
02:43Hi, I'm Jody.
02:45How are you?
02:45To move forward and to continue this program,
02:49I want to expand it more than just autism awareness.
02:52I want to make it autism awareness and acceptance.
02:55And I think taking a look at all this, it gives you a lot of insight into what the chopper
02:59would mean.
03:00You know what I mean?
03:00And I think that...
03:01Yeah, I think that's the most important part.
03:03The chopper tells the story, really, is what we always say.
03:06Yeah, we want to work with the sensory, so we're kind of thinking about a sensory bite.
03:09How did you start?
03:10I grew up doing a lot of summer programs and working with kids,
03:17and I really loved it.
03:19I had my oldest kiddo, really young, and she's autistic.
03:24And then she's nine now.
03:28When your kid's diagnosed autistic, you just get handed this world of pamphlets that don't make sense.
03:35And you're just basically sent to deal with it on your own.
03:40And that's where it all gets confused.
03:42Just because you're autistic, your brain works differently.
03:44You don't...
03:45You get angry.
03:46You get overwhelmed.
03:47And people don't...
03:48I never get angry.
03:49People don't understand that, like, just because you get angry or frustrated,
03:52it's just how their brain works.
03:54They don't know how to...
03:55Everything's black and white for them.
03:57And the biggest thing for me is to say, you're part of that bike.
04:01The confidence, the levels, and they're friends.
04:04The kids around will be, like, amazed.
04:07Now they're the coolest kids on the block.
04:09I don't care, you know?
04:10I mean, that's what my goal is with this bike.
04:12And I like to take it around with my granddaughter and show the people how amazing these children are
04:19and how amazing this bike is going to help represent it.
04:22I want to make sure that I bring, you know, acceptance to autism.
04:27That's a great statement, and it's a great mission.
04:30And I believe that Leo and his family are certainly going to do that
04:35because they are pretty tenacious.
04:40How much are these wheels, seriously?
04:42Right?
04:43Look at how that, like, the contrast cut almost looks like diamonds.
04:48So it almost reminds me of him.
04:51The old Trans Am.
04:52Yes.
04:53Yes.
04:53Yeah, yeah, the wheels, right?
04:55Yeah.
04:56Yeah, S&T does a really nice job other than for incentive, Leo.
04:59Anthony should be here any minute.
05:01Yeah.
05:01I think he said he's on his way over.
05:03Well, he's thinking we all think really hard.
05:05Yeah.
05:05He may just knock on the door.
05:07Ooh!
05:09Hey, who's there?
05:10Yeah.
05:11Ooh.
05:12There it is.
05:13Hey, Anthony.
05:15Hey, Anthony.
05:16Hey, Anthony.
05:17There we go.
05:18Perfect.
05:18That's nice.
05:20Yeah.
05:21You said this part's stretched back here?
05:23Yeah, we stretched it back here about three and a half inches
05:25because the touring transmission is so long with the oil tank built in
05:29that if you would have kept it in the stock location,
05:31the back of the tire would have hit the back of the oil pan.
05:34So we stretched it.
05:35You can't really tell, but yeah.
05:36No, you really can tell.
05:37Yeah.
05:37Good job, man.
05:38There you go, man.
05:39Very clean.
05:39Thanks, bro.
05:40You got it, man.
05:41Appreciate you.
05:43Get my next frames on.
05:44All right.
05:45Working on it.
05:45I got another one coming after that.
05:47OK.
05:47Yeah.
05:52Good rotation.
05:53Is that what you want going on?
05:54You want to put the front end?
05:55You and Mikey can put the front end together or something?
05:57I don't do front ends.
05:58Get over here, man.
05:59I only do rear.
06:16Are you using the Harley-Davidson primary?
06:21I'm doing a close primary, but it's Harley-Davidson.
06:23So it's a stock M8, like?
06:25Right, yeah.
06:26If you put the transmission in there the way it is, you try it.
06:29We should just make that.
06:29Yeah, let's take a look at it.
06:30I got the hardware.
06:32Get that fender under here.
06:36I'm assuming it's an R. The smaller one on this side.
06:38See, it says right side.
06:40It's probably this side.
06:41I'm just guessing.
06:41That's an R. I don't know.
06:42That's the R.
06:43OK.
06:47I have a 1974 Harley that I bought new in 1974 that's in the restaurant.
06:52And I kind of like the way the fender was done.
06:55And as Smith Brothers did that, I wanted to try and duplicate that somewhat
06:59with the bike that I was doing with him, the orthism bike.
07:02OK.
07:03Joe Aham's for A.
07:04This is his version of democracy.
07:06For A.
07:07This is his version of democracy.
07:10Obviously, building this bike, it's for a good cause.
07:13Most of the bikes that we do generally are for good causes.
07:16I mean, it's good to learn more about autistic people.
07:20It affects millions of Americans and just learn a little bit about them.
07:25What I did for Paul today was actually we had a 117 motor that we got from Burt's
07:30that Burt's letting Paul use.
07:32And I actually tore it down for him, for the guys to get it powder coated
07:36to match some of the colors on the frame and the covers and all that.
07:39Then this is an M8.
07:40So we're basically, what we're going to do is we're coming up with,
07:43we're going to use one of the other platforms to get rid of all the wiring harnesses
07:46and run a carburetor on it.
07:47So it's going to be kind of cool for Paul.
07:49We'll be back in the end.
08:14We'll be back in the end.
08:29The C here for the...
08:33I think that we got more done than I thought that we would get done.
08:36You know, we decided to do something a little bit different on the fender.
08:38Christian did the complete front end.
08:40The gas tank's on, we still got to build a sissy bar.
08:43We're gonna run a king-queen seat,
08:45and then we got an exhaust, which is gonna be,
08:47that's gonna take a little time, too.
08:49But, I mean, for our first day, I think we did good.
08:56Drew bought two sets of handlebars in there.
08:58It was kinda difficult for me to figure out, really,
09:00which one I like better, because they were both so cool.
09:03A lot of times, I like to have other people's opinions.
09:05I still felt that there was a pretty close matchup
09:08to either or.
09:09Cool look, you know?
09:10Get the other set, it's for ha-ha.
09:11Yeah, yeah.
09:12Chris, these are nice, you say, bro?
09:14Yeah, they're heavy, too, man.
09:15Yeah, they're heavy.
09:16Cool, right?
09:16Yeah, it's got rods in there.
09:21Okay, we're gonna have to take a vote here.
09:23I like the first one.
09:24We got these, which I, they're very cool.
09:27I like that it has the rods already in it.
09:29But these in chrome are really gonna be a showstopper.
09:34Hey, you're an A guy?
09:36I think A's gonna match the sissy bar more with the twist.
09:41I like them both, but I think-
09:43Oh, they're both great, but I think that's gonna match better.
09:45In fact, one or the other.
09:47Hey, you're an A.
09:48You're an A.
09:49A.
09:50You're an A.
09:52I'm gonna say A, because I want B's for myself.
09:55Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:57There you go.
09:58Mike?
09:58I like B.
09:59You like B?
10:00You like these ones?
10:01I like B.
10:26Don't go wrong, I like the full twisted ones.
10:30You like that better?
10:32It's, it's a tough call.
10:33We might have to flip a coin.
10:35You know what I mean?
10:36But, okay, show of hands for A.
10:38I like the, with the risers, though.
10:41Cleans it up.
10:44This is his version of democracy.
10:46He's gonna put out what he wants.
10:47It doesn't matter what we say.
10:48Yeah, you guys can do it.
10:49You can vote.
10:49I was running around.
10:50All right, I got s***.
10:51I'm running outside of doors.
10:53It's up for you, Mike.
10:53Yeah, I'm a delegator.
10:55I'm a delegator.
10:55Okay.
10:56And we got a lot to do today.
10:58Drew's gonna be working on the s***y bar.
11:00We're bringing in Eric to do the Magneto.
11:09It fits right on the fender, perfect.
11:12I'm gonna go straight.
11:13It's all perfectly straight all the way up.
11:15Don't work with it.
11:17Anthony knew a gentleman who makes Magnetos
11:19to convert all of the Harley stuff over to chopper style,
11:22get rid of a lot of pieces and stuff we don't need.
11:24So Eric's coming over in a little while
11:26to help us put it together and teach us all about it.
11:30With this setup, you have the Magneto
11:32and you have the two wires,
11:34or you can run all four plug wires, run into the plugs,
11:37and you can literally run the bike just off of that.
11:39Right, put the Magneto on.
11:41All right.
11:43Look all right?
11:44Yeah.
11:44We're gonna have a bad-ass point.
11:46Oh, yeah.
11:47It's like a cutaway of how the impulse coupler works.
11:51Let's see, it stops a paw.
11:53And this is the same technology as airplanes still use today.
11:57So this is the first time that we're using an M8 Harley motor in it.
12:01The wiring's a little different.
12:02Generally, you know, from the factory, there's all types of sensors.
12:06There's like 5,000 wires, there's computers, everything else, fuel pump.
12:09So what we did was we eliminated a lot of the wiring by using a Magneto setup
12:15and going to carburetor.
12:16Having such a prestigious title as delegator, I feel it's my duty when my father's away
12:22to really lean on these guys and give them a hard time.
12:25What's going on over here, huh?
12:27You know, I got a job to do like anyone.
12:31I think it worked, you know.
12:32I kind of, you know, kept them moving, you know.
12:35And I don't think we'd be as far as we got today without me.
12:39They're scared.
12:40They're scared.
12:41Yeah.
12:41Dell ran away.
12:43Dell's scared of you.
12:44The sissy bar is coming along.
12:46Definitely taking longer than I think everybody's expecting, but it looks amazing.
12:49So it's worth the time.
12:51Christian's been knocking out a bunch of stuff with the tank.
12:53We had a gentleman come over today that's working on a conversion for the M8.
12:57Really smart guy.
12:58Really interesting.
12:59So I'm curious to see how that all comes together, but it looks amazing on the bike.
13:02I think it's going to be a cool build, for sure.
13:10I brought Dell here, who's a super, super guy.
13:13And how I know him is we do a bike week here.
13:16And he's brought a few of his bikes here, and he just does amazing work.
13:21My name's Dell Battle.
13:23I'm from Crown Point, Indiana.
13:25Working with Drew, he showed me certain things to do, tips and whatnot.
13:30And really, it ain't that bad.
13:32And I'm going to incorporate it in some of the builds I'm doing back home now.
13:36Yeah, Drew, he's a good guy.
13:42Hand me that tour.
13:43He doesn't have any chipper right there.
13:45That's a good tour than he is.
13:47Got to be a better way.
13:49And I'll tell you what's a better way is.
13:50A better way is if you have something with a lot more leverage.
13:54Yeah.
13:55You know what I mean?
13:55It's the same too.
13:57Yeah.
13:58You want to try it, Paul?
13:59Give me that.
13:59Hey, man.
14:08Give me my job.
14:11So it was cool, because I got to show Paul how to do it the old school way with just,
14:14you know, the torch, you know, and then twisting it to certain styles that you wanted it.
14:18So it was a lot of fun.
14:20I like it.
14:22Good job.
14:22That's the process, man.
14:24It takes a while.
14:24You got to finesse it a little bit.
14:26You know what I'm saying?
14:27So maybe you did 30 and then the four-inch emblem over the top of it.
14:3134 overall.
14:32Yeah.
14:33Does that make sense?
14:35Yeah.
14:35Yeah.
14:36Oh, we're doing pretty good, I think.
14:38You know, for two days.
14:39We've got the front end on.
14:40We've got the calipers on.
14:41The wheels lined up.
14:43Handlebars we've got.
14:44So we're doing pretty good.
14:46Tomorrow I'd like to see at least a sissy bar and the seat pan made for the king-queen seat.
14:53And then we'll go right to the exhaust, which probably would be most time-consuming.
14:58So we got the tank.
15:00I mounted it up, welded it down.
15:02I was thinking you can even do it when you can run the hose like this, even.
15:08Instead of, or you can just do a straight hit.
15:10It don't matter, you know?
15:11Same .
15:11Yeah.
15:12So put it there.
15:13Something like that.
15:20Well, of course, it's going to be a clear hose.
15:22So you can see the fuel level in there.
15:25We decided we wanted, you know, just like a fuel gauge on the side.
15:28Like a basic old chopper fuel gauge, where it's just a fuel line.
15:31So you can just, you know, visibly just look and see your fuel level.
15:34This type of fabrication, I've never done.
15:36So I'm picking up and it's a blast.
15:40Like I say, it's a good time.
15:42Everybody is great.
15:44And I can't wait till tomorrow.
15:45I look forward to coming back tomorrow.
15:55Hey, I got a lot of threads in there.
15:56I beefed it up.
15:58Yeah, Christian's lathing some parts to put into the battery box area in order to shim them up so that
16:05we can fully assemble the part.
16:08I don't know what he's doing, to be honest with you.
16:10I'm kind of watching him, keeping him company, you know?
16:14Some days I'm just sitting here and I'm just waiting for that second hand to keep racing around the clock,
16:20you know?
16:33That's pretty, that's pretty close.
16:35Yeah.
16:37I'd take that.
16:38The other one's not good, right?
16:39Yeah, we gotta pull that one in just a tad.
16:41Yeah.
16:45First slide.
16:45Yeah.
16:46And everything else, this side's out.
16:48The fender's gotta be, the fender's not, not really square here.
16:53You know what I'm saying?
16:53We got it right.
16:54It was worth it because it's really a nice sissy bar.
16:58A lot of time in that sissy bar.
17:00And then Drew's gonna be working on the exhaust, which I'm really excited about.
17:07Let me see you, brother.
17:09Yeah, that's cool.
17:11That's cool.
17:12That's cool, man.
17:13That's cool.
17:14That's cool, man.
17:16So I'm really excited about this bike.
17:18It's for autism awareness and I think it's turning out better than we had expected.
17:22Do you wanna pass the axle?
17:25I'd like to do it.
17:26Do you know what I mean?
17:27I'd like to do it like this.
17:28You want it really close to the...
17:30You want them dual like that?
17:32Without a pain in the ass, I want them.
17:34We can do it.
17:35I think that'll look cool.
17:37Okay.
17:38Just have them parallel like that?
17:40Yeah, it could be, you know, you could leave a little space in between.
17:43Yeah.
17:44You know what I mean?
17:44Whatever.
17:45Blow your ears out.
17:45Yeah.
17:46Right?
17:47So I'm gonna jump on the exhaust.
17:48We're gonna do like a two inch exhaust and we're gonna do like a really cool upsweep,
17:52old school chopper style, then probably just go real tall.
17:57This is keeping it up over here, you know?
17:59Right.
17:59Okay.
18:01Let's mark and shear it.
18:04We can do that, right?
18:05That's about where that's gonna be no matter what, right?
18:09So...
18:13Yeah, that's good.
18:14Let's get it all centered.
18:15All right, I think you need to just eat it.
18:18Let's just press it down a little bit again.
18:30You wanna take it over here or you wanna...
18:32We're gonna have to add a piece of base.
18:34All right.
18:35Go up a little bit.
18:38Here's a little bit.
18:39There you go.
18:39Right there.
18:40That'll work.
18:45Is this the top with your fingers?
18:47Oh no, like this top.
19:00I don't know man, it's looking pretty baller to me.
19:03It's a perfect fit.
19:06I don't know, wait a second.
19:07Tell me when it's straight.
19:09Gotta get it right first.
19:11You guys, man.
19:13You and your buddy Drew over here.
19:16Shooting the darts in the dark.
19:19We're gonna get going on making the pipes.
19:21I think I'm gonna do like a upsweep set up on this one.
19:24And that's what Paul was wanting.
19:26We're gonna do something real tall.
19:28And, uh...
19:29Yeah, it'll be kinda old school chopper stuff.
19:31It'll look good.
19:32All right, so...
19:32Now I got something to work with.
19:34I want three quarter to two inch.
19:36So we're gonna bolt these into the motor.
19:38I mean...
19:38What do you think, Derek?
19:40They're not gonna be...
19:40I like your idea from yesterday's side-by-side.
19:45That'll give it a more of a one-of-a-kind look.
19:48Let me see, brother.
19:50Yeah, that's cool.
19:52That's cool, man.
19:55Right, bro?
19:56Nah, that's nice.
19:58Hold that there for a second.
20:00Don't move.
20:02Smile.
20:04Never mind, don't smile.
20:06All right, good.
20:06All right, guys.
20:07Back to work.
20:16Come looking at it and see if I like it.
20:19I'm the one that's gotta like it.
20:24Let me know, because I only got...
20:26I got...
20:26Well, I guess we got a little bit more straight peas.
20:28I like it.
20:30We're gonna go a little bit higher on the sissy bar.
20:32So I'm just trying to tie in this last little 45 that I need to do.
20:38So...
20:38Today went good.
20:39It's our fourth day.
20:41I think that for...
20:42You know, we're not...
20:43We're not working with a huge crew like with the OCC we had in New York.
20:48But I think that...
20:49I think that we're getting a lot done.
20:52Nice smooth moves.
20:53Very good!
20:54Nice.
20:56Nice.
20:56That was good.
20:57Yeah.
20:58Yeah.
21:03So building these bikes back to back like we are doing, it builds the tension and the
21:08stress level a little bit.
21:09So Paul had a great idea.
21:10Let's do something to blow off some steam, some team building.
21:13So there's a place down the street, Peapaws.
21:15They have some axe throwing in the back.
21:17We figured this is a great way to get off some steam, have some fun and just get out of
21:20the shop for a few hours.
21:21So, welcome on in.
21:23Name is Nigel.
21:24This is Peapaws Garage here.
21:25We are an official waddle venue, World Accenture League.
21:27So you guys are going to be throwing on the same style boards that pros compete on.
21:31I am a certified coach for that organization.
21:33More importantly, at least for me, is I am a certified judge for that organization.
21:37So I will definitely be judging you guys here today.
21:39Nice smooth whoosh.
21:40Very good!
21:42Not bad.
21:43Composition.
21:44Yeah.
21:45That is actually one of my...
21:48Yeah!
21:49Very good!
21:50Damn!
21:51I got it!
21:51Who would have known that Mikey is like...
21:54An axe throwing God.
21:56Oh my God!
21:58And that's a bullseye right there!
22:00You know, the guy picked up an axe.
22:02I think this second throw, he was nailing it.
22:04There it was.
22:05That's a solid stick right there.
22:07Christian and Paul did really well, as did Joni and myself.
22:10But yeah, those three were really on target.
22:13I was pretty happy with my performance.
22:15The guy that took the...
22:16Took it away was Christian.
22:18But I still think the best...
22:20The best thrower here was Michael.
22:24Hey-o!
22:25There we go.
22:26It's pretty cool.
22:27I don't think any of us has ever done it before.
22:29A lot of fun.
22:30A lot of stress release.
22:31And I think it was a good time.
22:32But it's time to hit back to the shop and get that bike built.
22:38My name is Billy Rude.
22:40I actually work at Burt's Barracuda Harley Davidson,
22:42which is right next door here to Paul's shop.
22:44Me and Paul kind of, you know, met in passing in the shop there.
22:47And anything I can help out with, I try.
22:49The spacers and then your pivot shaft.
22:56Okay, grab that.
22:59Hey!
23:00What's his name?
23:02Hell.
23:03He was here last week.
23:05How's it going?
23:07Everything's there, man.
23:08You're done?
23:09Yeah, we're done.
23:09What about a Speedo for him?
23:10What about the primer?
23:11So we have a...
23:12Just put a Speedo.
23:14If you need me to come back over and throw that together, I can't.
23:16We're starting out a little shaky.
23:18Some of the stuff wasn't powder coated.
23:20The exhaust needs to be recoded.
23:22But we're moving along now, and we got Mikey here.
23:27Where's Mike?
23:30He's doing inventory.
23:31Sandbag.
23:32He's in bag.
23:34So we got to get back to work.
23:43Yo, buddy.
23:46Man, that looks nice.
23:50What are you doing here?
23:51Last minute decision.
23:53What did you do?
23:53Come all the way down?
23:54Yeah.
23:55When?
23:56Got here yesterday.
23:57My man Ken flew down.
23:59Surprise, surprise.
24:01The colors are great.
24:03The beige color is really nice.
24:05I really like that color.
24:07To me, it's nostalgic.
24:08Almost looks like psychedelic, man.
24:11Wow, that's really nice, does it?
24:13As usual, they always give me that real tight timeline.
24:17Supposed to ship it out.
24:18Didn't quite make it, so I had to jump on a plane, put it in my suitcase, and get it
24:23here.
24:23Tried to replicate, like, some of the toys that they use for autism.
24:27The poppets and the rear fender.
24:31We did the fidget spinners.
24:32Mounted those on.
24:33It was a little cool add-on.
24:35Every bike we do, I find that there's a message in it.
24:38The more the message gets out to more and more people, the better it is.
24:43And so that's kind of my philosophy is, you know, like, let people that don't, they're not informed, get informed.
25:18We're off the bottom arm.
25:20Yes.
25:23Good design.
25:24I said, man, this bike, the car and everything, it would look great, you know?
25:30What do you want me to do?
25:35Obviously.
25:36I love the bars.
25:38I do, too.
25:38They're really different, you know?
25:40They're cool.
25:41Everything's pretty cool.
25:42The old man's got eyes in the back of his head.
25:45He's got his head.
25:46It's a fidget spinner.
25:47It's a fidget spinner.
25:50That's wild, ain't it?
25:51That is wild.
25:52The tank for the autism bike is my all-time favorite.
25:57I always said I never had a favorite, but there's just something magical about it.
26:02It's the colors.
26:03It's the feel.
26:04I could not have been happier than I was with that tank.
26:07The bike looks amazing, doesn't it?
26:09The bike does look amazing, honestly.
26:12How nice is that bike?
26:13I don't think I've ever seen a white engine.
26:15It's not a white.
26:15It's white and black.
26:17You want to argue over what color that is?
26:18Oh.
26:19You're colorblind, so stay out of it.
26:21I picked the colors, so...
26:23Of course you did.
26:23If it's done right, you picked it.
26:25Right, Jim?
26:26Pretty much.
26:27Yeah.
26:28So, actually, tomorrow, if everything goes good, we should be able to get pretty close.
26:33Bill's coming in tomorrow morning.
26:34He's going to do the primary.
26:36Hopefully, we'll get the exhaust tomorrow.
26:39So, if we get the owls coming in tomorrow, so that'll be a big help.
26:44Again, like I always say, as long as something else don't come up, I think we should be on time.
26:56Yeah.
26:58That makes a difference.
26:59Yeah.
27:00Boom.
27:01Right through the whole billboard.
27:03Yeah, you can't ask for a better thing.
27:05It might be right, huh?
27:07Oh, that goes right out there.
27:09Well, there was two here, and there was two this side, son.
27:15Good, man.
27:16LED Forever.
27:17They do all the bike events around here.
27:19Uh-huh.
27:20So, when you said you wanted to put LEDs on here, they were the first ones I thought of.
27:23They're local, which is good.
27:25So, we had Manny come in to do the LED lights, and I think that it was kind of appropriate
27:33for the autism bike,
27:36because, you know, the colors and stuff like that, we tried to blend in.
27:41I think if we do a multi-color kit, it would be amazing, because you can go with all the
27:45nice colors you got on the bike.
27:46Right.
27:47And I think your key fob control will work good on this one.
27:50Yeah, we can turn 18 colors.
27:51Light it up, man.
27:52Make a Christmas tree out of it.
27:54Christmas tree?
27:57Yeah.
27:58Sit down.
27:59I want to tell you how proud of the man you've become.
28:04Thanks, Mike.
28:05That means a lot coming to me.
28:06Yep.
28:08Proud of what you've accomplished here.
28:10Yeah.
28:11I'm so impressed I was overwhelmed then coming out here and hit some bear.
28:18And he didn't return the words at all.
28:23I just like spending time with my dad.
28:26He's old.
28:27He's really old.
28:31He's older than he looked.
28:51Oh, yeah.
28:54Dude, that frame's cool.
28:56Look good?
28:57Blue, blue, blue, blue, blue.
28:58It looks amazing, man.
29:00The colors are going to be nice.
29:01The kids are going to like it, you know?
29:02Yeah.
29:02Which is important.
29:03Manny from LED Forever put lights underneath the bike, underneath the gas tank,
29:08and they'll change colors.
29:09So that should be, you know, when we unveil a bike for the kids,
29:12they should get a kick out of that, too.
29:15Pretty sharp.
29:19How are you guys doing?
29:21Good. How are you?
29:21How are you?
29:22Good.
29:22Coming in here to work on a bike or what?
29:25Huh?
29:26You got your mechanic's license?
29:30Um...
29:30Sure.
29:31Somewhere, right?
29:32You just can't find it.
29:33We had an attorney here today, and my wife knows his mom.
29:36Evidently, he's interested in bikes and stuff like that.
29:39So we invited him over to get a little bit involved in the bike that we're working on now.
29:45This guy's going to take your job, Mike.
29:47Oh, man, that's not hard.
29:49That was easy.
29:50There you go, man.
29:52This kid's a born rider.
29:53Here.
29:54Mom needs to get pictures, Mom.
29:56Look mean.
29:57Real mean.
29:58There you go.
30:00Yeah.
30:00Something doesn't look right here.
30:02You need the helmet or something?
30:03No, no.
30:04You gotta have sunglasses, Mom.
30:05It'd be cool.
30:06I know.
30:06You see how cool I am?
30:08That's because of the sunglasses.
30:09What do you mean?
30:11Uh...
30:12Jeez.
30:14You're good, bro.
30:16Boom.
30:16There's one on the other side, too.
30:17Here comes the other side.
30:24An Orange County shopper shirt with my signature on it.
30:30Don't put it on eBay, okay?
30:32All right.
30:33I won't.
30:33I'm just gonna show it off.
30:35You're gonna show it off?
30:37Good man.
30:37It was a great experience for me, but I'm sure it was more of an experience for him, you know?
30:44Good to see that he got involved, and I know that when he left here, he had a big smile
30:50on his face.
30:51All right.
30:52Good job.
30:52Thank you, buddy.
30:53All right.
30:56Okay.
30:57We got all the spark plugs in there, right?
30:59Yeah.
31:02There's four.
31:05How do you know which one go where, though?
31:07Almond flour.
31:07It doesn't matter.
31:08The front is the front, and the rear is the rear.
31:10And that's why we had to switch these around, because we had it wrong at first.
31:13We didn't switch them back by accident, did we?
31:15No.
31:30Still?
31:30It's not coming back.
31:32There's...
31:32I mean, it sounds good.
31:35Try that.
31:45It's been a pretty long day, and the bike started for a little while, and the throttle...
31:50Actually, the spring was bad on the carburetor.
31:55But we've been, you know, we put the Magneto on there, which nobody's really that familiar with the Magneto, especially
32:00the newer bikes like this, or even this motor period.
32:05But, you know, right now we can't get it going.
32:08You know, we've worn the battery down.
32:10The guy that put the Magneto in that runs that company, he's going to come in the warning.
32:17And everybody seems to think it's something with the Magneto.
32:22I'm not worried about getting the bike started.
32:24We're going to get it started.
32:26It's not...
32:26It's not like it's uncommon.
32:30It happens to the best of us.
32:31And, you know, the main thing is to persevere and get it done.
32:39Then I spin it 180, so my dot is there and the other dot is the top.
32:43I just wonder if that cam timing's not off with going the way you're going the top dead center on
32:47this, and it's not letting it pick it up or something.
32:50I'm not sure.
32:50I don't know how this one works.
32:51Why don't you put it on your top dead center?
32:53Let's see what a cam timing's at.
32:55Okay.
32:55Can you get it to that?
32:56Let's just take a look at that and see if those dots are off, then the cam timing's definitely off.
33:00So these MA conversions with the Magneto is something we've never done before.
33:03Because usually Christian's pretty good at figuring it out, diagnosing it, and fixing it.
33:08But this was a little more than we've all done before and a little more than we're used to.
33:12Anything with the Harleys even, like even when I'm doing not-adjustables, I have to set my cam timing there,
33:19drop the pushrods in, and then everything will start.
33:21Once you're there, so like I'm putting my sprockets on, so once I put those sprockets on, I'll line my
33:27cam up, I'll line my crank up with those two dice, so my crank's lined up now to my cam.
33:31Okay.
33:32So that's how you get the timing on that.
33:34We keep trying the process of elimination, and thus far we haven't been successful with it.
33:40We have the right people here.
33:42I guess the thing is that we just have to keep going.
33:45Never really been in this spot, per se, before.
33:49It's a different motor.
33:51Things are a little bit different than the usual, so it does make it a little bit more difficult.
33:57I do believe that eventually we will get it.
34:01You have to sit down with Leo and his daughter and his son-in-law, and again, great people.
34:08I think that they struggle daily with people's inability to just accept that many of these children are just a
34:19little bit different.
34:20So, how's Olivia?
34:23She's wonderful.
34:24She's been very excited about this whole thing we got going on.
34:29Today she's a little apprehensive.
34:31You know, as we know, some days she comes in, she likes to be a part of the film, and
34:35then other days it just gets overwhelming.
34:37Exactly the same way.
34:39For real life.
34:40That's a lot.
34:41You know, people talk about awareness, and awareness is great.
34:44A lot of people are aware, but to truly just accept and embrace the love and everything these kids have
34:51is way more important, I think.
34:54The biggest thing about it is just to show her the support that out there in the real world she
34:59doesn't get overwhelmed.
35:00Right.
35:01And, you know, she's really come a long ways.
35:04I mean, throughout this whole experience, the process, meeting all these new people, being part of something that's bigger than
35:11her, it's been amazing for me.
35:15And I know, you know, I got tears in my eyes already.
35:18I mean, you know, I'm too big to cry, but, you know, here it is.
35:22So, that's why I wear sunglasses.
35:25I got mine on my head.
35:27So, as parents, what would be your summation of it?
35:31What, what, if you, you have an autistic child, what does that mean?
35:34She's living in a world that's not accommodating to her.
35:37Some days, like, yesterday was a very good day for her.
35:41She could have done anything.
35:42Today, a little bit of a rough day, so she's not here, because she's a low-functioning day.
35:46More, like, what we're doing is we're sending out a message, and I don't think that message gets out there
35:54enough.
35:55So, what you're talking about here, people don't know what you're talking about, for the most part.
36:00I agree.
36:00You know what I mean?
36:01Absolutely.
36:02So, really, the whole, as far as I'm concerned, the bike's always a tool, but I think that we have
36:09to create the message.
36:11Yes.
36:11You know what I mean?
36:12And then, from there, the bike kind of takes it over because you're going to use that as a tool
36:17for people when they come around whatever events or whatever it is.
36:22You, there's something to talk about there, whether it's kids or parents.
36:26Yep.
36:27It, it, it, it, it's all about that.
36:30How are we looking on a bike for tomorrow?
36:33Huh.
36:36Yeah, yeah.
36:37It shows me.
36:38I think we're okay, yeah.
36:40Does it have gas?
36:41It needs a little more gas because we needed not to start it.
36:46Never really been in this spot.
36:47You know, we didn't start the bike.
36:49Start it!
36:50Start it!
36:51Start it!
36:52Start it!
36:53Start it!
36:55Start it!
36:58Yeah!
37:01Okay?
37:02All right.
37:04Ooh!
37:05Ooh!
37:09Ooh!
37:12Yeah!
37:18Ooh!
37:20Ooh!
37:21Ooh!
37:22Ooh!
37:46Listen, did you think at any time
37:49that that was going to be something simple?
37:53If that was wrong with it?
37:54Usually.
37:54We know it is, but we didn't...
37:56Right?
37:57It took a little while troubleshooting different things,
37:59and we came to the realization that after changing the spark plugs
38:03and checking the timing, timing was still perfect, everything.
38:07The compression releases were just staying on a little too long,
38:10so we just disconnected the compression releases,
38:12and it fired right up.
38:17It's turning.
38:18It's on.
38:19It's got many of my friends out of Texas.
38:22Sure.
38:23Because they're real fast.
38:24They're sticklers.
38:28Yeah.
38:29Right.
38:29All right.
38:29Let's go.
38:30Go!
38:51So we're super excited.
38:52We're about to leave to go do the unveil of the Autism Awareness Bike.
38:55Can't wait to see what Leo and his family and his granddaughter think about the bike,
38:59because it's really all about them and their cause to bring awareness to autism.
39:03So I hope everything goes well.
39:14The reveal day was just, like, amazing.
39:16The kids were just so excited, and I think that they didn't know what to expect.
39:23I'm pretty sure that we nailed it this time in terms of building the bike.
39:29It took a lot of creativity and thought into making sure that this bike speaks to all of us.
39:38You know, we didn't start the bike.
39:40We rolled it out of there because, again, you know, we weren't really sure.
39:43And the next thing, everybody goes, start the bike, start the bike.
39:47Start it!
39:47Start it!
39:48Start it!
39:56To me, it rolled out the way it should roll out.
39:59It was their show.
40:00It was their bike.
40:01It was just a great day, and I think we're going to bring a lot of awareness.
40:04Leo loved it, which was the most important thing.
40:06But even more important than that was Leo's granddaughter loved it.
40:10She wouldn't stop talking about it.
40:11She was always by the bike, so it's a home run as far as I'm concerned.
40:14We really feel fortunate and blessed that we're in a position to bring awareness.
40:22Amazing!
40:23I'll be screaming at the top of my lungs.
40:24My wife will be like, what's wrong with you?
40:26I said, it's just amazing.
40:27The kids are just pure.
40:29They're unique.
40:30And I'm really, really honored to be a part of this.
40:34I think the bike is absolutely stunning.
40:35Amazing.
40:37It couldn't have came out any better beyond what I could have even thought.
40:43I'm so excited about it.
40:44I love it.
40:45I thought it was one of my favorite unveils.
40:49You know, I'm a kid and an animal person, so yeah, this was special for me.
40:55Paul did a great job, and I think Leo really loved it, and I think the people here really loved
41:01it and appreciated it.
41:02So, another successful unveil for OCC.
41:04That's an old school chopper, so it's keeping the old school choppers alive.
41:09It's cool and it's awesome.
41:12It's amazing.
41:13I really like it so much.
41:15This motorcycle is awesome.
41:18This is a really cool bike.
41:19You're well done.
41:38It's all for a couple of days.
