00:05In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:07In the name of Allah
00:12In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:16Our holy book comes down from the shelves of our libraries
00:20when it is placed at the center of our lives
00:24When our ears and souls are enlightened by the sound of the Quran
00:29when our nights are lit like a lamp for the pre-dawn meal
00:34And when our tables are filled with the blessings of iftar
00:38This Ramadan will do us good.
00:41With His mercy, His blessings, and the glad tidings of liberation from hell.
00:46with the Night of Power it contains
00:49This Ramadan will do us good with its various blessings.
00:54Sir, we'll stop our clocks this Ramadan.
00:58We have created a life for ourselves between different time periods.
01:02with our hearts that are a little broken, a little ruined and very worn out
01:08The fasting we will observe this Ramadan will do us good.
01:12We will walk this path with the Ummah, with you, and with you, our esteemed guests watching from your screens.
01:20hopefully
01:20That's exactly why
01:23This Ramadan will do us good.
01:25The topics that will be discussed here, in this place.
01:29followed
01:31laws and every guest we host
01:36Hopefully it will be good for us.
02:02Thank you for watching.
08:47The color of the Ummah is in Africa, greetings to Gaza, the unforgettable wound in our hearts, and to East Turkestan.
08:56Greetings to the community that offers the same prayer, greetings to the Hejaz, greetings to the blessed footprints of our Prophet.
09:05Greetings to our esteemed Prophet, peace be upon him; greetings to those who do not consider fasting merely as going hungry; greetings to those who know how to wait, hope, give thanks, and be patient.
09:23Greetings, O Ummah of Muhammad, greetings to the Ummah that is the apple of our Prophet's eye, and greetings to everyone watching us on their screens.
09:37In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, we are in an exceptional period where mercy, blessings, and forgiveness envelop our hearts.
09:46And we are very happy and grateful that our Lord has allowed us to reach the blessed month of Ramadan once again.
09:54Welcome to our Ramadan Joy program on TRT1.
10:01Throughout Ramadan, we will hopefully feel the spirit of cooperation, solidarity, brotherhood, and this affection and warmth together in this studio.
10:11Through conversations, heartwarming stories, and recitations of the Quran, we will experience the joy of Ramadan together this year.
10:22This evening, our first guest at iftar is the President of the Religious Affairs Directorate, who guides the spiritual life of our country.
10:31Dear Professor Dr. Safi Arpaguş, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you all. It's a pleasure to have you here.
10:38Please forgive our excitement, teacher, today is only the first day. What do you say, how is the excitement of Ramadan, how does it affect you?
10:45Thank you.
10:48In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
10:50We offer endless praise and thanks to Allah.
10:54Thank you for allowing us to reach this blessed season, these beauties, in good health and well-being.
11:02Let us begin with endless prayers and salutations to our beloved Prophet, the sultan of our hearts, so that our words may have meaning.
11:10We send endless blessings and salutations upon him.
11:12And of course, those preparing their iftar meals in front of their televisions, watching us from different parts of our country...
11:22To all our friends watching on screen, to all our brothers and sisters in our shared cultural geography on the horizons you mentioned,
11:33Let us begin by sending our love, greetings, and respect to the Ummah of Muhammad, God willing.
11:42May endless praise and thanks be to Allah, who has allowed us to experience this blessed month once again, with health and well-being.
11:53Because there are those who are not as fortunate as we are, those who do not live to see this blessed season.
12:01May God grant them His mercy, may He have mercy on them.
12:07Amen, amen, teacher.
12:08Our Prophet described it as having a beginning of mercy, a middle of forgiveness, and a final salvation—salvation from torment and hellfire.
12:19In the verses we just heard, the sanctity of Ramadan is emphasized.
12:25There, fasting is an act of worship that has been made obligatory for us, just as it was made obligatory for the nations before us.
12:34This is an obligatory act of worship for us this month.
12:37We will certainly talk about this, its meaning, its depth, but...
12:43One of the characteristics of the Holy Quran, and one of the characteristics of the month of Ramadan,
12:49It is the meeting of the two of them this month.
12:52Because,
12:55The Holy Quran, which is a source of guidance for mankind,
12:59It was revealed during the month of Ramadan.
13:01In the verses we just heard,
13:03We will be notified.
13:05So, it's the month of the Quran, right?
13:06The month of the Quran and its significance there,
13:08It is a source of guidance for people.
13:10Its purpose is to show people the right path.
13:12Therefore, the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr) falls within this month, offering us an opportunity more blessed than a thousand months.
13:25The month of Ramadan offers an opportunity for mercy, forgiveness, and salvation.
13:30All of this is done in our lives, with the feeling and thought of realizing it in our lives, and with the belief that God Almighty's command is for me to fast.
13:42And when we add the good news that only I will give the reward,
13:47the most beautiful fruit of this blessed month,
13:50For the sake of God,
13:52a form of worship that was for his request and that only he could control,
13:57God willing, through the act of fasting
14:00To attain closeness to God, to draw near to Him,
14:04annual accounting of our own lives
14:09Where have our lives led us?
14:11What are we doing?
14:15In this mortal world, what are we pursuing in order to gain the eternal world?
14:19This also gives us time to think about it, in order to take stock of it.
14:25at first we give up eating, drinking and our desires,
14:29and we showed our desire to experience a more intense season in worship,
14:34We are in a climate of meaning.
14:37So, can we call this a construction process, professor?
14:39Of course, let's call it both construction and restoration in a sense,
14:44Because God does not want us to go hungry,
14:48We don't need to go thirsty.
14:51This must be a characteristic intended to discipline us, to educate us.
14:57Because it was made permissible for us in the times we possessed,
15:03among the actions that we can perform without any difficulty,
15:06for a temporary period of time,
15:09within a specific time interval
15:11purely for the sake of God's pleasure and because He commanded it,
15:15We are suspending these endeavors, these activities.
15:20Therefore, there is a relationship, a bond, between the servant and God.
15:24And as a result of this, as I said earlier,
15:28It is an act of worship performed for me.
15:31All acts of worship are for the sake of Allah.
15:33It is done for the sake of God.
15:35But fasting is a form of worship that...
15:40It is entirely between God and the individual.
15:42You cannot control this.
15:44No matter what control mechanism you put in place,
15:47It's impossible.
15:48Therefore,
15:51from the great men of meaning,
15:53Cüneydi Bağdadi has a talisman for sincerity (ikhlas).
15:57Fasting is a very sincere act of worship.
15:59Because,
16:00Sincerity is such a quality that...
16:02Hazrat Junayd al-Baghdadi,
16:06It takes place between the servant and God.
16:08Even an angel wouldn't know that.
16:10May God reward their good intentions.
16:13If something bad happens, let it be recorded as a sin.
16:16The ego doesn't know that...
16:18Let him shape it to his own liking.
16:19Let him turn it towards himself.
16:20The devil doesn't know that,
16:22Let him obey.
16:23Therefore,
16:24with those sincere hearts,
16:26with sincerity,
16:28And,
16:30again,
16:30read in the last verse,
16:33as stated,
16:35My servants will ask you about me,
16:37I am very close to them.
16:39When they pray,
16:41I will answer your prayers.
16:42God Almighty commands.
16:43that closeness,
16:46that closeness,
16:47the pursuit of acceptance in the eyes of God,
16:50And of course, most importantly,
16:52the eternal realm
16:53In order to gain the afterlife,
16:56By respecting God's commands,
16:59Treating His creations with compassion and mercy,
17:02and through acts of worship which God has said will bring him closer to Him,
17:09and these are prayers,
17:11fasting,
17:12It is cooperation.
17:13It is zakat.
17:14etc.
17:15When we consider all of this,
17:18The ultimate goal is always to please God.
17:21that is, to draw closer to God both individually and directly,
17:25and at the same time it will facilitate that rapprochement,
17:29to focus on other religious duties,
17:32Can we call it a bear, sir?
17:32its place in our lives,
17:33Yes.
17:35My teacher,
17:36During this blessed month of Ramadan,
17:38Our Directorate of Religious Affairs chooses a theme every year.
17:41Ramadan again this year,
17:43The theme chosen was mosque and life.
17:45Of course, this also means,
17:47We can also consider these three words as a vision of civilization.
17:51Why was there such a need?
17:54Why was this theme chosen?
17:55Because it's as if there's a gap between the mosque and the community,
17:59Is there a distance, a separation, between us?
18:02Or is there insufficient legal framework?
18:05Could you share this with our viewers?
18:08Our civilization,
18:10When we look at our civilizational heritage,
18:13It's centered around the mosque anyway.
18:15So, from the moment our Prophet received divine revelation,
18:21From the time of his migration to Medina,
18:24both the Prophet's Mosque and those built later,
18:27from that day until today,
18:30Our places of worship, our mosques,
18:31Our mosques are a part of our civilization,
18:34our culture,
18:36our belief,
18:37our religious life,
18:39They have always been constructed as spaces where life exists and where it is shaped.
18:44Let only prayers be performed.
18:46It wasn't done to cause a breakup.
18:49Therefore, we are specifically in Istanbul.
18:52When we look at Istanbul, that city of temples,
18:55In the construction of the culture and civilization of this city, which was the capital of the Ottoman Empire,
19:00cornerstones,
19:01These are our monumental works.
19:04This is its shape.
19:06It's all built around this, isn't it, sir?
19:08They said so.
19:09Of course.
19:10The mosque is in the center, that is.
19:11The madrasas, especially those located around the Selahattin mosques, are centers of learning.
19:16That alone would be a great example.
19:19But the heart of the Muslim community beats in the mosque.
19:25So we talked about Ramadan.
19:28Mosque and life.
19:29You asked if there was a disconnect between them or not.
19:33Obstacles and hindrances brought about by modern life,
19:38between the mosque and the believer,
19:39especially the recent pandemic,
19:42It appears to have contributed to the creation of a significant distance.
19:47But to compensate for this, we need to do it corporately,
19:52and also as part of the work of our volunteer religious officials,
19:57we are committed to the restoration of our mosques,
20:00activities that are central to life,
20:03our young people, our children are here
20:06will allow him to integrate into society and socialize
20:10to draw attention to the studies
20:14We already do these things as an organization.
20:17So, from preschool education for 4-6 year olds,
20:20From children aged 7-10,
20:22From our young people aged 10-14,
20:25we with religious education,
20:28with values education and
20:30especially with our moral consciousness,
20:36With the moral principles of our Prophet,
20:40To become acquainted with the rulings and laws of the Holy Quran.
20:49We need to bring our people, from young to old, together in the mosque.
20:54Like teaching the Quran, starting from the very beginning, something so simple?
20:57Of course, I mean, the things we teach here,
21:00As I said, both the literal meaning of the Quran,
21:03both its meaning and, besides, its appeal to young people,
21:07We are trying to explain the principles of Quranic morality.
21:11And the relationship between society and the mosque,
21:16If we strengthen the bond between the temple and ourselves,
21:20which can be seen as a disruption in our social life
21:25or young people in society,
21:27Perhaps if we could classify them as middle-aged, elderly, etc.,
21:31all of this in the name of providing services,
21:35to restore the mosque to an active function
21:37to put it at the center of life
21:40We identified such an image, such a thing.
21:44Subject, theme.
21:46And thank God, it's not just about choosing a theme,
21:51In order to fill this in,
21:52During our Ramadan, we,
21:55with our recitations, with our complete readings of the Quran,
21:58with our Tarawih prayers,
22:00with our Tarawih prayers recited with the recitation of the entire Quran,
22:02Along with our traditional Enderun-style Tarawih prayers, which are part of our culture,
22:07life in the mosque,
22:09will draw society there,
22:11a place where all individuals can meet
22:16and in order to fully experience this spiritual atmosphere
22:19and so that they can benefit from it
22:22Our goal, our aim, was to create awareness.
22:27Hopefully, sir.
22:28Of course, Ramadan is also about sharing.
22:31solidarity, sir?
22:33Our communication with the Islamic world,
22:36To empathize with the problems of Muslims,
22:38To be able to touch them in ways other than prayer,
22:42to touch their hearts,
22:43Ramadan also has such a mission,
22:45Isn't that right?
22:47Of course, during the holy month of Ramadan, it is actually our tradition,
22:51Providing mutual support in all aspects, whether material or spiritual, is already a requirement of our faith.
22:58to our brothers and sisters, our fellow believers,
23:01we every Friday,
23:02Beginning with the words, "God's justice, goodness, and help to relatives,"
23:09At the end of the sermon, we convey the commands of God Almighty to our people.
23:15Therefore, it has been imposed upon us,
23:18as an area of responsibility imposed upon us by our faith,
23:21both in our society,
23:23both in our country,
23:24both outside our country,
23:26both in our religious geography,
23:28both those who need us,
23:32apart from our beliefs,
23:34the sacrifices and disasters we can face in the name of humanity, and,
23:40also in places where people are overwhelmed by great chaos,
23:44we to humanity,
23:47We are responsible for serving the Muslim community and our brothers and sisters in our country.
23:52As you know, our country...
23:54It experienced a severe earthquake disaster.
23:57Yes.
23:58In a certain part of our country,
24:00Efforts are still being made to heal these wounds.
24:03Apart from that,
24:04The bleeding wounds of the Islamic world are still bleeding,
24:09In Gaza, in Palestine,
24:11In East Turkestan,
24:13in different geographies,
24:14Muslims still
24:16prisoner and,
24:18Victims under oppression.
24:21In order to reach them,
24:24You said the color of the ummah,
24:26The African continent is currently separated from us,
24:28waiting for our holy book,
24:30They try to learn from copies of the Quran written on pieces of wood or leather.
24:34How much?
24:35They are primarily expecting a copy of the Quran from us.
24:38to deliver that service,
24:39They are waiting for water.
24:41They are experiencing drought.
24:43It's like digging a well for them.
24:44They are the decrees of this sublime Quran,
24:48They want to understand its meaning.
24:50They are asking us for a school.
24:52In order to bring those services to those places,
24:55I can say that our state and our nation are very noble and always at the forefront.
25:01In this regard, we, as an organization,
25:04The services of the Turkish Religious Affairs Foundation,
25:08Our Directorate of Religious Affairs,
25:10We already have diplomatic missions in around 80 countries.
25:13The Religious Affairs Foundation also operates especially during times of chaos and crisis,
25:18in regions where atrocities occur,
25:20together with our representative offices,
25:23Let this be our official state policy on these matters.
25:28Let's have our Red Crescent,
25:29Together with our stakeholder institutions, we are in the field.
25:33to be helpful, to heal wounds,
25:36We are trying to be a balm for the wounds.
25:38Yes, sir.
25:39Professor, while we are discussing Ramadan here...
25:42So, while we're focusing on the theme,
25:45What do citizens, what is our public thinking about this issue on the street?
25:49Now we have a short but tense period,
25:51We will continue our conversation on this topic later.
26:01Of course we are happy, just like it is Ramadan.
26:03So he's excited.
26:06So we will fast.
26:07We will give thanks to our God.
26:09We're excited, we're going to fast.
26:11We will fast here for two days.
26:13We live abroad.
26:14We came to visit the tomb of Eyüp Sultan.
26:16Here, as a family, we break our fast together at the table during Ramadan.
26:19We are happier and better off here.
26:22I'm excited, I'm happy.
26:23I will fast because he has arrived.
26:25We will have our pre-dawn meal here for two days.
26:27We'll break our fast here once more.
26:30Unity, togetherness, and breaking the fast together.
26:33Unity, togetherness, fasting together, family gatherings, breaking the fast together in a large group.
26:40His spirituality is very high.
26:42That month is a very peaceful period for us, a time of increased abundance.
26:49It means something good.
26:51Breaking the fast is wonderful for me.
26:53And also because we opened it in Istanbul.
26:55It's wonderful to hear the call to prayer here.
26:57The atmosphere changes during Ramadan.
26:59There is a sense of peace, a feeling of happiness.
27:01So, it's good from a spiritual point of view.
27:04Spiritually, we certainly feel different.
27:07Let's just say we're getting closer.
27:10Ramadan allows us to experience these feelings.
27:12We feel better.
27:14It brings back memories of the old days, of Ramadans.
27:16Ramadan is a month of mercy, compassion, and forgiveness for us.
27:20It is the month of liberation.
27:22It means everything to us.
27:23May all Islamic scholars have a blessed Ramadan, God willing.
27:26Honestly, I'm very happy.
27:28Thank God we've reached this day.
27:30Praise be to God.
27:31We have reached another Ramadan.
27:33With God's permission.
27:35It's a wonderful kind of happiness.
27:38I have already been fasting for the past three months, with God's permission.
27:42It will continue until the holiday.
27:44The peace and spirituality of Ramadan is a wonderful thing.
27:47For me, the month of Ramadan represents happiness, peace, love, brotherhood, unity—those things.
27:54I don't know, it means sharing.
27:56This is a very, very, very, very precious month for me.
28:00It truly is the most blessed month of the year.
28:02I feel very happy.
28:03I am truly at peace.
28:04In other words, it means sharing together, sitting at the same table, sharing beautiful memories, experiencing good things from a religious perspective, and finding peace.
28:14I'm so happy, I'm so glad we have this month.
28:22Yes, we watched the veterinarian's segment, and we will continue our conversation with our professor about this segment from where we left off.
28:28Sir, it seems that our people have already embraced the content of the topics we are discussing here.
28:34They talk about togetherness, sharing, brotherhood, and the spiritual atmosphere that Ramadan creates within us.
28:44Especially by visiting places that hold special meaning for them, for example, and by experiencing the holy month of Ramadan in Istanbul,
28:51Those living abroad flock here to hear the call to prayer, especially during Ramadan.
28:56So, Ramadan brings about a change in our lives, it causes a transformation.
29:01What do you think about the attitudes of our people?
29:05Our people already view Ramadan, especially with greater intensity, as a season when religious sensitivities reach their peak.
29:17This is a system where society monitors each other, both in terms of religious life and in terms of mutual assistance and solidarity.
29:26It becomes a marketplace of kindness where people look at each other, observe where needs exist, who needs what, and try to help.
29:36Actually.
29:38Before that, this was especially true when the month of Ramadan came, according to our Prophet.
29:45The gates of heaven open, and an atmosphere of mercy prevails.
29:52The gates of heaven are opened, the gates of hell are closed, the devils are bound, and so on.
30:01As can be seen in the hadiths he expressed within the world of meaning,
30:07A period, a season, a time frame when the spiritual atmosphere is vibrant.
30:15Therefore, our priority here should be the relationship between the Quran, which was sent to us as a mercy, and the month of Ramadan.
30:26Our connection with the Quran, which was revealed in this month,
30:29What does the Quran tell us?
30:32If it is a source of guidance for us, if it is going to show us the right path,
30:36If anyone is going to stay on the straight path, it is this book.
30:40First, we need to re-evaluate our relationship with this book.
30:46Or, as Mehmet Akif says, "We open it, look at its page, read it, and move on to the grave of a dead person."
30:53We shouldn't look at it that way.
30:55It's as if the Quran was revealed to us.
31:00With the awareness that we are the ones God is addressing there,
31:05If we can embrace it in our homes and hearts with an understanding that we can grasp, God willing,
31:11Then the Quran begins to speak to us.
31:15Then the Quran tells us,
31:18God created you to serve Him.
31:21Do not neglect your duty to God.
31:23There are certain acts of worship that God Almighty requires of you.
31:27Don't neglect them.
31:30God created you,
31:32He created you in the most beautiful way,
31:35He created as the most perfect being,
31:38Oh, you, according to the calendar,
31:39He created man as a perfect being.
31:41What kind of behavior would compromise this?
31:44Stay away.
31:45He says,
31:47Wherever you see blood or a wound,
31:49take care of him/her,
31:52He who thinks that one neighbor will inherit from another,
31:55The advice of our Prophet, who said "almost",
31:58Based on those relationships in the Quran,
32:02The characteristics mentioned by our Prophet.
32:04Therefore,
32:06that world of mercy and compassion,
32:09Because the Quran and our Prophet are the best examples for us from there,
32:16what it added to our lives, what it taught us,
32:19The commandments of God and the morals of our Prophet,
32:22good morals,
32:24at the level we focus on in this world of worship,
32:27Ramadan is essentially a year-long process of identity building.
32:33So, just for one month,
32:36Religious devotion shouldn't be something that's lived only for a short period.
32:40Our achievements here are one,
32:42to every moment, every instant of our lives,
32:45Because we have been given this earthly life for a temporary duration,
32:50And finally, an eternal realm is promised.
32:54He was shown the way, too.
32:56You will follow a straight and true path,
32:59It will eventually lead to paradise.
33:00It will ultimately lead to happiness in eternal life.
33:03Ultimately, they will emerge to be united with him under the banner of our Lord.
33:07What do you need to do for this?
33:09Here's what you need to pay attention to:
33:11You will do this,
33:12You will do this,
33:13And most importantly,
33:16As much as you are interested in the outside world,
33:18turning inward, turning to one's true self,
33:21there, where God did not want him to be
33:25You will purify your soul so that you will find nothing.
33:29You will purge the worldly things from your heart.
33:32As a result of all this,
33:35And while doing this, we also perform the acts of worship that God has commanded.
33:39You will perform your prayer.
33:40You will fast.
33:42You will grasp that empathy during fasting.
33:46those who cannot find these opportunities,
33:48those who are in a very difficult situation right now
33:50hungry, exposed,
33:52whoever is the victim, whoever is the oppressed,
33:55As we approach the time for breaking the fast this evening,
33:59The feelings caused by hunger and thirst give us,
34:01It should remind one of that world,
34:04He should remind us of that place.
34:05When we are able to show that empathy,
34:08then, freed from selfishness,
34:12other games,
34:13we become more aware of the world around us,
34:17The benefits that fasting will bring us,
34:19perhaps in this sense,
34:21Our outward-facing activities are certainly important,
34:24kindness, charity,
34:25nice activities,
34:27But without rebuilding our inner selves,
34:29It's not really possible for us to improve our external environment.
34:32So, professor, we always complain about the modern world, but...
34:36One of the things that has probably harmed us the most is,
34:40We need to center our lives around an outward-oriented lifestyle.
34:43Whereas,
34:44Islam, the Quran,
34:46especially and primarily to cultivate our inner world,
34:51the needs of our soul,
34:53to keep your spiritual resources abundant,
34:55to nurture and develop it,
34:57And as a result of this,
34:59how this is reflected in our behavior,
35:00It anticipates the reflection of this, and when we look at the orders in this direction,
35:05We can't overcome this, sir.
35:07What do you recommend for overcoming this?
35:09They say there is no greater wisdom than knowing oneself.
35:13Tradition dictates this,
35:14"Men arafa nefsehu fekad arafa rabdehu demiş."
35:16Yes.
35:17The word here is knowledge,
35:19wisdom,
35:20"The believer is lost," says our Prophet.
35:23And He gives commands to those who invite to the path of truth.
35:26First, you must invite them with wisdom.
35:28Instead of explaining the nature of religious commandments,
35:34First, we explain what religious commandments are.
35:37But we sometimes miss the point of why.
35:40Then a distancing on these issues,
35:44a state of inertia, a laziness,
35:45We are encountering a case of negligence.
35:47But when you invite people to the path of God Almighty,
35:51with wisdom, good counsel, and whatever is necessary, in the best possible way of fighting,
35:57It gives us a duty of conveying the message and providing guidance.
36:00Therefore, among the most important aspects that the month of Ramadan should bring us is:
36:07an introverted person,
36:10We must also ensure that we lead a life focused on ourselves,
36:15This is especially evident in the life of our Prophet, particularly in the form of Ramadan seclusions.
36:21Exactly, sir.
36:22Fasting has an effect on this issue you mentioned.
36:28There is one aspect that makes things easier for us.
36:30We are now slowly approaching iftar time.
36:34And doesn't the quality of our fasting also determine this?
36:38So this inward-focused construction movement that we will undertake,
36:42Doesn't it support urban development and spiritual enrichment movements?
36:46How can we manage to observe such a fast?
36:50We can call this fasting with all limbs.
36:54So, as we said at the beginning, God's will not to let us go hungry,
36:58to prevent us from becoming dehydrated and to protect ourselves from some of our behaviors,
37:02There must be a purpose behind our restrictions.
37:06If we keep our mouths shut, if we don't eat but don't stop speaking ill,
37:10If we still have fasting on our lips, it means our purpose has not been achieved.
37:15Yes.
37:16If we don't shield our ears from foul language,
37:19If we don't protect our eyes from inappropriate behaviors that we shouldn't look at,
37:26If our hearts cannot capture that purity, that innocence,
37:33If we can't cleanse ourselves and are constantly thinking about other things,
37:37Even if we have completed our worship by then, we still need to understand His wisdom.
37:43We cannot attain the level of thought that God Almighty desires to develop within us.
37:50Therefore, a visual form of worship is a dry and bland form of worship.
37:55If it doesn't mature us, if it doesn't teach us anything,
38:00That means the intended purpose is not being achieved.
38:03Perhaps we can get rid of the responsibility.
38:05But God said, "My servant, this was not my intention."
38:12As a result, there were certain levels of perfection I expected from you.
38:17It deeply upsets us when he says those things didn't happen.
38:22We would be embarrassed.
38:23Enduring all kinds of hardship and suffering, they have been teaching us this glorious religion of Islam for so long.
38:30Those who have been trying to convey this message for 15 centuries, starting with our Prophet, the generation of his companions, and then subsequent generations,
38:38Our teachers, who strive to teach us the glorious religion of Islam,
38:43Our elders, our ancestors, our fathers, our uncles, who worked to arrange opportunities,
38:49This area of responsibility leads us to a very great moral obligation.
38:56If our acts of worship are such that the purpose is achieved,
39:01From the Holy Quran, the most beautiful gift of this month,
39:06Our Prophet, who is the best example, is a prophet created with the most beautiful character.
39:11We, whom he called his community, have ended up being unworthy of him.
39:15May God protect us from a life that will end in disappointment.
39:23So, it will be like answering the question, "Who is this bankrupt person?" God forbid, right, sir?
39:27May God protect us from that bankruptcy, and may we benefit from it while we have the means and when God's mercy is overflowing.
39:35Our Prophet (peace be upon him) said that the first ten days are days of mercy.
39:37Then will be the days when God's mercy, all kinds of mercy, will be bestowed abundantly.
39:44We can't miss this.
39:47We need to take advantage of this blessing of rain.
39:51The second ten days are days of forgiveness; God says He will forgive.
39:55Provided that we repent with sincere repentance, with a pure heart, and with a genuine heart, feeling remorse for the mistakes we have made.
40:04And if we make a vow with our fasting mouths, never to return to those mistakes again, and pray to God Almighty,
40:13We believe we will be forgiven no matter what, and that God's mercy is greater than anything else.
40:18Because, as God Almighty says, His mercy encompasses everything.
40:22The blessings of Ramadan have now begun in Ankara; hands are raised in prayer at the iftar tables.
40:28Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for iftar in our beautiful capital city.
40:32We also say, "May God accept your prayers, may your supplications be granted."
40:38We wholeheartedly say amen to this beautiful prayer, dear viewers.
40:44And we will continue our conversation with my esteemed professor from where we left off.
40:48Professor, we had just finished our discussion on verses from the Quran and hadiths.
40:55During the days of mercy, we were talking about mercy.
40:59The fact that our Prophet was sent as a mercy is already told to us by the Holy Quran.
41:04We are the followers of the Prophet of Mercy, and we are in days of mercy.
41:08God Almighty says that His mercy is sometimes His wrath.
41:12My mercy is greater than my wrath; it surpasses it and is far more abundant, He says.
41:18The fact that His mercy encompasses everything is constantly encountered in the verses of the Quran and the hadiths.
41:24Therefore, we must take advantage of these days when mercy pours down like a torrential rain, and every act of worship is rewarded manifold.
41:35The second part, the days of forgiveness, involves seeking pardon and mercy from God Almighty.
41:41From our mistakes and shortcomings, our errors, the things that led us astray...
41:47Isn't it also an accounting job, sir?
41:49We will use the word "nusuh," and then the Quran calls this a sincere repentance (nasuh tawba).
41:54O you who believe, repent to Allah with sincere repentance.
41:59The word Nasuh, the word Nusuh, expresses that sincerity and devotion, as we mentioned at the beginning of our speech.
42:06It means making a heartfelt promise to God, which is in return for God's forgiveness, pardon, and absolution.
42:16It leads us to a decisive conclusion.
42:20And of course, the days of liberation.
42:22If we continue in this devotion, we will be granted a reward better than a thousand months, in which the Glorious Qur'an was revealed to us.
42:31It was sent on the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr).
42:33To say it's better than a thousand months means having an opportunity that exceeds the average human lifespan.
42:39One thousand months is equivalent to 83 years.
42:42Wow, it's extending our lifespan!
42:44It extends our lifespan, and none of us have a guarantee of living to 83 years.
42:48But in a single night, God grants us such an opportunity that if we live a life that is in tune with the spiritual world of that night,
42:59If we make that promise in one night, if we can be alone with God in our hearts, with all our supplications and prayers, based on that understanding,
43:12It promises us a salvation, a way to save a life and follow its path.
43:18Furthermore, sir, the fact that the Holy Quran, our sacred book, was revealed on this night...
43:24It could also be interpreted as if a historical process has ended, been completed, and that meaning no longer continues.
43:32Yet the Quran speaks to us at every moment.
43:35At every moment, our Lord conveys His commands to us through His rivers.
43:41A person who reads the book of the universe correctly can see this.
43:45When a person turns inward, when they return to their essence, they can see this.
43:50It seems we have a way of perceiving the Quran, God forbid, as if it were a history book.
43:56Am I wrong, professor?
43:57Of course, we shouldn't perceive it that way.
44:00If we have such a perception, we are on a very wrong path.
44:03We are a living organism in this world.
44:06We are a constantly changing entity within it.
44:09And the source we are dealing with, too, has a very variable world of meaning.
44:16When we read the Quran repeatedly, it reveals to us that if we have the desire and willingness to understand it,
44:22She will open her doors, she will lift her curtains.
44:26If we have a heart capable of comprehending and perceiving it,
44:30If we possess a certain level of intelligence, if we possess some common sense
44:34And if we consider the purpose for which it was sent,
44:39We will not lose our way if we are guided by a book sent to us as a guide.
44:45Therefore, this blessed month will be a means of mercy, forgiveness, and salvation.
44:50Our nation, our country, our families, our children, our youth, our elderly,
44:59I pray to Almighty God that it brings mercy, blessings, and goodness to all our people.
45:05May our prayers be included among the accepted prayers of Almighty God during these blessed days, God willing.
45:10In this season of spiritual fulfillment where such beauties are experienced, may God Almighty treat us with His mercy.
45:17We should pray that He will bestow His mercy upon us.
45:20To be more specific, sir, God willing, we will celebrate the holy month of Ramadan together in our country.
45:25We will understand the entire Islamic world and within the framework of the fasts we will observe and the acts of worship we will perform.
45:31What legacy will Ramadan leave us, and how can we rightfully claim this legacy for ourselves?
45:41Do you have any concrete recommendations regarding this?
45:44In my humble opinion, we must first build ourselves up.
45:48A society composed of self-contained individuals will build society.
45:53Our generations will inherit our faith and the legacy we have gained in this spiritual climate.
46:00It will grow and develop with the results it obtains as a product of our religion, our faith, our culture, and our traditions.
46:08Perhaps our greatest gain in doing this is what we should achieve.
46:14God Almighty says you cannot enter Paradise unless you believe.
46:18But you cannot truly have faith unless you love one another, he says.
46:25Unity and solidarity are more important than anything else.
46:28We will be one, we will be together, we will be brothers and sisters.
46:31All our ancestors who entrusted this heavenly homeland to us fell from every inch of this land, from every piece of soil in this geography.
46:42In order to repay the debt we owe to our elders who drank the cup of martyrdom, we are obliged to be brothers and sisters.
46:50In this atmosphere of mercy, the most important thing is our brotherhood, our unity, our togetherness.
46:58Starting from our homes, our families, to the institutions and organizations where we work,
47:04to every inch of our country's soil and with the strength, unity, and greatness we have achieved here,
47:11We have a duty to serve our Muslim community, our faith, and, to the extent of our ability, humanity.
47:19Because God created humankind as His vicegerent on Earth.
47:24He entrusted the development, construction, and administration of the earth to humankind, as a matter of perfect wisdom.
47:36This great responsibility, which even the mountains could not bear, has been entrusted to us as a result of our faith.
47:44May God Almighty keep us steadfast in the face of this trust, God willing.
47:48And He grants us the grace to shoulder that trust, to fulfill that trust, in the name of humanity and in the name of our faith.
47:56You know how our Lord says in the Quran, "We did not create man without purpose," sir?
48:01As human beings, we are always inclined towards aimlessness.
48:04Freedom, liberty, the ability to act as we wish,
48:09We perceive it as a human virtue, as a form of salvation.
48:13But wouldn't being a responsible, strong-willed, conscious person who knows what they are doing be a more fitting profile for a human being?
48:22Isn't that more in line with human nature?
48:24It is impossible for a being endowed with reason and intellect to be left to its own devices.
48:29Since the qualities he possesses already make him a recipient of divine intervention,
48:36After that, it will never leave it adrift and alone.
48:41Whenever you look at the verses of the Quran, God Almighty says, "I am very close to you," and "I am with you."
48:47"I am closer to you than your jugular vein," He says, "He is my servant."
48:51Teacher, we need to pray for Him to call us His servants.
48:55As you know, we have viewers all over our country eagerly awaiting iftar.
49:02And they too are praying with their hands raised.
49:06Perhaps they will also join in your beautiful prayer.
49:10We have one and a half to two minutes left for Istanbul.
49:14Until then, if you would be so kind, let us continue our program with a prayer.
49:19Thank you for inviting me to the program, and to all our citizens, our brothers and sisters watching on screen.
49:28I congratulate you again on the holy month of Ramadan.
49:30Thank you very much, sir.
49:31Let's continue with our prayers.
49:32Here you go, ahim.
49:33Amine.
49:37In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
49:38Subhane Rabbiyal Aliyyil A'la'l-Vehhab.
49:41Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
49:44And peace and blessings be upon our Messenger Muhammad and upon his family and all his companions.
49:50Amine.

49:59And We have guided you and granted you success to the truth, and that is your straight path.
50:03Amine.

50:06Amine.
50:06And for the sake of the world, may God have mercy on you.
50:09Amine.
50:10O Lord of the Worlds.
50:13May the blessed month of Ramadan, a time of mercy, forgiveness, and salvation, be a source of mercy, a means of forgiveness, and a path to paradise for all of us.
50:22Oh Lord, do it.
50:23Amine.
50:23O Lord, accept our fasts with the most perfect and complete acceptance.
50:28Amine.
50:29May God grant us the ability to live, understand, and convey the meaning that emerges from our fasting within ourselves, in our very being.
50:38Amine.
50:38May God have mercy on our ancestors and our precious martyrs.
50:41Allahu Akbar.
50:42Amine.
50:42May You accept and grant our prayers, including them among Your accepted prayers.
50:47May the blessed month of Ramadan be auspicious and bring intercession for us.
50:51And peace be upon the messengers.
50:54Praise be to Allah, Lord of all worlds.
50:56Amine.
50:57Yes, it's time for breaking the fast in Istanbul. May Allah accept our fasts.
