00:00The World Boxing Organization, or WBO, has once again directed both cams to finalize negotiations
00:06for a rematch between Filipino boxing veteran Charlie Suarez and Unified Junior Lightweight Champion Emmanuel Navarrete.
00:14Both cams have been given only 20 days to reach an agreement on the contract.
00:19The bout will proceed to a purse bid with a minimum amount of $150,000 if negotiations fail.
00:27The two last faced each other in May of last year, where the fight was stopped in the eighth round
00:33after Navarrete suffered a severe cut above the eye.
00:37Navarrete was initially declared the winner before the bout was later ruled a no contest.
00:43Meanwhile, a commission review later determined that the cut was apparently caused by a punch from Suarez,
00:49and if the decision has been made correctly, the fight would have been ruled a technical knockout in Suarez's favor.
00:56Navarrete currently holds the IBF and WBO titles, while Filipino fighter Suarez stands as the mandatory challenger and the number
01:05one contender in the division.
