00:00...that has to let this darkness inside of him in order to defeat the darkness.
00:07Which is so interesting, and this season we actually see Rand in twice, seemingly on the brink of losing control.
00:21La Torre Bianca non si inginocchia a Rand al Tor, egli perderà l'ultima battaglia.
00:26The world of the Wheel of Time is very fascinating and very current.
00:31A society where only women are in control of the One Power, and where men cannot channel it unless they
00:39go mad.
00:40So we could say that women have a sensibility that men don't have. What do you think?
00:46Well, it didn't start off like that. You express it very well, but it was only through an abuse of
00:52the power
00:53that the Dark One tainted the male half of the true source.
01:01Which, you know, it's one of the complexities, it's one of the riddles of the Wheel of Time, exactly what
01:07that means.
01:09I think what makes it, I don't know historically, but what makes it interesting for our world is that women
01:16can go to school to learn how to work with the power.
01:20So they can work with it safely and within limits that they can control.
01:25Whereas men don't have any such outlet and they have to learn in secret because they shouldn't reveal themselves as
01:33someone who can channel,
01:34which makes it very dangerous for them. Plus, you know, this threat of madness and no mentor.
01:39And that is actually one of my character's great conundrums this season is because as she guides Rand towards fulfilling
01:45his destiny,
01:46she while she understands the feeling of channeling, she can't actually help him navigate his own use of his own
01:55power.
01:55It's actually what drew me to the Wheel of Time, because if you look at other fancy stories, there's often
02:01a hero, heroes.
02:05And sometimes they say that whoever the dark one in their story is, the Satan, the devil, whatever,
02:13they always say that the antagonist is might join the dark forces, but I never believe it.
02:20That's why I think the one power is so interesting and that the dragon reborn is actually a man that
02:27can channel.
02:28And that's forbidden in this world, because with that comes a lot of danger, because every time you use the
02:33one power,
02:34you become mad, you start to kill the people that you love.
02:41And this is the man that is supposed to save or destroy the world, which I think is a super
02:47interesting concept,
02:48because now you have a hero that has to let this darkness inside of him in order to defeat the
02:55darkness.
02:56Which is so interesting. And this season we actually see Rand in twice seemingly on the brink of losing control.
03:06And and he frightens people who know him well, Moraine and also Egwene, because that power unleashed is.
03:17is is is is is frightening and nobody knows where it's going to draw him.
03:22Yeah, yeah. After three seasons, Moraine and Rand have still to find a way to trust each other.
03:28So what do you think is the key to put the trust in one another?
03:33By asking for help. And and and I guess if for Rand, it's that he really feels that Moraine actually
03:45trusts Rand.
03:46I mean, it works both ways, but there are moments where for the first time Moraine asks something about the
03:55one power,
03:56for example, where before she would she would not she wouldn't have this kind of curiosity.
04:03So it feels like more equal actually. And that's from that level they can actually build trust.
04:11And that's when you can you can feel that Moraine is a puzzle.
04:19But if you if you if you how do you say that if you put the puzzle in place,
04:26it seems like she's actually the best mentor and guide and force who is actually the most loyal than anyone
04:35else.
04:35Sono nato per fare questo.
