La Ruota Del Tempo 3: Intervista Marcus Rutherford e Dónal Finn
Trascrizione
00:38Do you feel they are more like the Avengers or the Justice League?
00:44That's such a good question, but I'm afraid I haven't seen either of those things, so I can't, but do
00:53you know what, I'm just going to jump in Avengers.
00:55I was going to say, yeah, I think, yeah, I don't know, there's something that each person kind of brings,
01:01there's like a unique quality, and I think they all kind of balance off each other, which I think is
01:06like Avengers.
01:07Yeah, I think the reason I might say Avengers as well is that, like, I think that the voices and
01:14the skill sets of each of the characters are so clearly defined, and that, like, I think there's a quality
01:21in the Avengers as well as that maybe, like, while, yes, like, Rand is the Dragon Reborn, but there is
01:27a sense of, like, they can't quite operate...
01:29Like, the reason that they are Avengers is probably because they can't operate as individuals and that they need each
01:35other, and so I would kind of say, I'd say, like, yeah, because the skill sets, the talents of those
01:41people as individuals is so clear, and that they need each other.
01:47I think we're longer than the Avengers.
01:49Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:50What do you think is the magic ingredient to create that sense of community, of friendship between all the five
01:57of you?
01:59I think they all have different qualities, like, in any sort of friendship group.
02:04I think there's one, there's certain personalities that might be a bit more, like, forward-thinking and a bit more
02:09outspoken, and I think they balance each other.
02:12There's someone, like, if everyone was, like, pairing within that group, it'd probably be a bit emo and stuff like
02:17that, but, like, he kind of, but he's also, like, yeah, but he's kind of, like, software, yeah.
02:22He's kind of, like, allowing others to kind of take the limelight.
02:25There's kind of, like, a balance, and he'll speak when he kind of feels like he's really listened to people,
02:30whereas, like, you know, Nynaeve might be a bit more forward-thinking and outspoken, and I think that understanding of
02:36everyone's different personality types is kind of, like, integral to a good group.
02:40I think if everyone was, like, Rand, they'd be, like, head-butting, and there's too many people who want the
02:45limelight, and then if everyone was, like, Matt, you'd probably get nothing done.
02:48It'd be fun, but we'd just, yeah, we'd just be, like, drinking all the time.
02:51So I think it's, like, yeah, like, any kind of friendship group, there's, like, understanding that everyone's kind of, like,
02:56duty and responsibility and personality type kind of, like, yeah, keeps the ball up, and there's a kind of, like,
03:03a shared kind of consensus that everyone kind of understands one another, like, kind of, yeah.
03:09Yeah, yeah, yeah. Drinking and gambling, yeah.
03:13Like every epic fantasy, the Wheel of Time often take your characters apart to bring them together very along the
03:20way.
03:20In the beginning of seasons 3, they are forced to say goodbye to each other again for some important missions.
03:26How do you cope with that aspect of the story of your characters?
03:31I think, how do we cope with it?
03:34Yeah, I think, you know, it is great to see them in this point of, like, of just peace, and,
03:43you know, something that kind of has come to me today is actually, like, that understanding, seeing them in that
03:52setting is a reminder of, like, that they are on this journey to kind of get back to their sense
03:57of home, you know, before all of this started.
04:00And I think it's good for them to have that kind of moment of, that moment of kind of being
04:07slightly settled and connecting with each other so that they know, as much as they don't want to kind of
04:14split apart, that it is necessary.
04:16It's a necessary journey to get back to where they, to what their priorities are.
04:21And, yeah, it just kind of reminds them of why they are doing what they're doing.
04:26Because, you know, ultimately, it's, you know, I think what's great about them as a group, particularly like the five
04:33that you mentioned,
04:34is that they are constantly looking out for each other, like, that they feel this kind of connectedness to home
04:43and that they all have the same value.
04:47But it does mean that they have to kind of go off and pursue it in different parts of the
04:51world and they go on different quests to get back to that.
04:56Sono nato per fare questo.
