00:00Long-term voters, like, we need you not just when it's a presidential election, like, these midterms are going to
00:05be really critical.
00:13Rosario, when we met this summer at Filming Italy, you talked to me about the importance of going to vote.
00:19I would like to ask you, how did you leave that vote today?
00:23And will you continue to demonstrate your activism by raising your voice even more?
00:29I think, you know, voting is incredibly important.
00:33It's one of the simplest things we can do to make an impact in our community and in our lives.
00:43And, you know, I think we've seen, you know, especially because of when the election came out, all the votes
00:50weren't fully counted.
00:51So it seemed like even the popular vote was going towards him.
00:55And apparently that's shifting now.
00:57And we're seeing that the popular vote was actually going more towards Harris, which I think is profound.
01:02Because it's been interesting watching what people have taken from that, the messaging from that going, well, I guess the
01:06majority of people want this.
01:08And it's like, no, it's not.
01:10And it still isn't the majority of the entire American people because not even everyone votes.
01:16That's still, these are segments of the population that are deciding for everyone else.
01:21And we find that the more people who vote, when there's a more robust electorate, then there's more progressive things
01:30that are on the ballot that get pushed forward.
01:32The fewer people who vote, the more austere it can get.
01:36The more education, environment suffers, like all the things.
01:41Because now you're letting the powers that be decide everything and the people aren't keeping a watch.
01:46And so I think now more than ever, we need to continue to keep that watch.
01:50And I think that is incredibly important when you have, you know, an administration that's saying they want to deport
01:56all of these people.
01:57And, you know, when you actually look at the numbers for that, that would put us into a tremendous amount
02:02of debt.
02:03You know, like, so you're building on, you're building a platform on fear and anxiety and hate.
02:08But what you're selling people isn't what you're selling people.
02:11Because if that actually is to happen, it would devastate our country.
02:16Like, that's actually, because they are not the actual problem.
02:20And we're, you know, so we're continuing to scapegoat the wrong people, including voters.
02:25And so for me, I don't know that it makes me want to do it more or less.
02:29I think it's why I've just always, I've always understood it was never going to be one vote, one administration
02:36that's going to change everything.
02:38That's not how the world works.
02:40And so for me, I just, I, you know, I have a voting organization.
02:42We're 20 years old this year.
02:44And what we hope for is for people to be long-term voters.
02:48Like, we need you not just when it's a presidential election.
02:51Like, these midterms are going to be really critical.
02:55If we're even allowed to vote anymore, right?
02:57Because this administration has said, like, after this election, we'll never have to vote again.
03:01So, you know, again, that's such a dangerous concept.
03:05And I hope people take that seriously, even if it's after the fact.
03:09Because I don't, I never believe that there's, as long as we're still alive, there's time.
03:14There's still time.
03:15So, I really feel like it's not hopeless.
03:18Like, I see the challenge in front of me and go, okay, we just, as Harris said, it's time for
03:23us to roll up our sleeves.
03:25Thank you so much.
03:26Yeah.
03:26Thank you.
03:26Thank you.
03:27Thank you.
03:27Thank you.
03:27Thank you.
03:27Thank you.
03:27Grazie a tutti.
