00:00Honestly, you.
00:01I know, same, actually.
00:02Because we didn't get the scenes.
00:04I barely worked with Christine.
00:11Girls, here is to marriages, men, parties.
00:16Not particularly in that order.
00:18But darlings, we always converse.
00:23Nice to meet you.
00:24The first question is about the friendship between your characters
00:27because it's an amazing part of the story
00:30and there is a nice evolution during the season.
00:33So I was wondering what was the most difficult part to act on the set
00:38and how was the relationship on the set between you two in the real life?
00:46So it was kind of difficult for us
00:48because we never got to establish the good parts of Nana and Conchita's relationship
00:54because you meet these girls when their lives are changing.
00:58I'm married and all of a sudden I move
01:00and then our lives are completely going to different trajectories.
01:04So all we had was the knowledge that Nan and Conchita are best friends
01:09but then you kind of meet them
01:10and they're just always butting heads throughout the season.
01:14So I think that was the most difficult of trying to establish,
01:17okay, we used to love each other.
01:19Right now we're misunderstanding each other
01:21and riding that balance.
01:23But working with Christine personally as not Nan and Conchita was fun.
01:28We knew each other before through mutual friends
01:30and she, yeah, we were kind of in cahoots when I was auditioning
01:34and we were like, all right, did you get the part?
01:36I'm like, I don't know.
01:37Yeah.
01:37La, la, la, la.
01:38So it was lovely.
01:38I admire Alicia for a while
01:40and then I got to meet her a few months before we started auditioning.
01:43Yes.
01:43And I was like, I want to be your best friend.
01:45Yeah, me too.
01:46It was so fun to work with.
01:47She's so present, so generous
01:48and I mean, Conchita's a really difficult role to play.
01:52Oh, thank you.
01:52I think you did an amazing job.
01:54Likewise.
01:54Thank you.
01:55Thank you.
01:56But I do wish we got the best friend part
01:58before it gets really misunderstood.
02:00Yeah, I hope that we get to explore that further.
02:03Yeah.
02:04So would you like to do some flashback
02:06maybe in the second season if there is one?
02:08Well, I hope if we have a second season
02:11because we could maybe just have more nice scenes together.
02:17Yeah.
02:17You know, that we are not butting heads.
02:19So hopefully we'll just see.
02:20Well, who knows?
02:21And see where it all began.
02:22Yeah, exactly.
02:24And obviously the series is in the past,
02:27but there are so much contemporary themes about women
02:31and the relationship between generations and everything else.
02:34So I was wondering what was the element
02:36that you put more attention
02:38and you wish to be more careful about
02:41before going to the set and during the preparation.
02:46Ooh, I mean, all the themes are very relevant
02:49and they're timeless.
02:51I personally was very intrigued in exploring identity,
02:54whether it was to be a woman at the time
02:56and the emotion of shame.
02:58I feel like Nan carries a lot of shame
02:59and a lot of her choices are manifested from that.
03:02So my top themes were like female friendship,
03:05love, how we love, why we love.
03:07I think Nan needs a lot of validation
03:09and makes choices based off of external reasons
03:14rather than her own true self.
03:16And that's always an interesting topic for me to explore.
03:19Yeah, I agree.
03:22Yeah, I guess the main theme for Conchita
03:24was really not belonging
03:26or feeling like she belonged anywhere
03:28or having a family
03:30and she was extremely lonely
03:34but I was excited to explore female friendship
03:37but then Conchita was kind of alone the whole season.
03:40But it's like something that we all go through
03:43when our lives are changing
03:45and we're moving into young adults
03:46or young adulthood
03:48or whether that's motherhood
03:49or being married.
03:51Your life goes through this shift
03:52and you have to figure out how to navigate it.
03:56and as you said, there are so many characters
03:59so I was wondering
04:00if there is someone that you would like
04:03to have spent more time on the set
04:05than during the scenes.
04:08Honestly, you.
04:09I know, same, actually.
04:10Because you didn't get the scenes.
04:11I barely worked with Christine
04:13after the first two episodes.
04:16Yeah, so definitely you.
04:17Yeah, same, we're the same.
04:19Yeah.
04:20Perfect, thank you so much for your time.
04:22Thank you.
04:23Amazing job.
04:25And what if this is our love story?
04:32Goodness, what a lady you are.
04:34All I've ever wanted to be.
04:35I'm pretty when I cry.
04:47I'm pretty when I cry.
