00:00In 2025, TNT Red Force batsman Jason Mohamed smashed four centuries in the West Indies Championships.
00:07He was also the tournament's highest scorer with 679 runs and an average of 75.44.
00:14Currently 39, Mohamed retired from Liste Cricket last year, but he still has an insatiable hunger for the game
00:21and is therefore making preparations for another four-day season which bowls off next month.
00:26I think it's just the love and the passion for the game and wanting to do some great things for
00:31my country.
00:32Ever since growing up as a young kid I had certain goals that I wanted to achieve,
00:36so I'm still trying to get to a certain amount of goals and some of those goals I still have
00:42to achieve.
00:43So that's my main reason for still going and still doing well.
00:46Mohamed has 17 centuries and 20 fifties from 107 first class matches.
00:53And he's surely hoping to add to that with family support being a big plus in his career.
00:58Yeah, there's a great support start that I have with my wife and my entire family, my parents and stuff.
01:02So obviously they still want to see me play for the country for as long as I can.
01:07So that's also added in sense for me to keep going and keep representing the country.
01:11And have you set yourself any targets for the 2026 season?
01:17Not really to be honest. We're still trying to finalise how much games we're going to play and stuff like
01:24that.
01:24So only when that is confirmed then I can sit down and say what it is I'm looking to do
01:29for myself for this year.
01:30The Barakpur resident has utmost respect for all opponents taking part in the tournament.
01:35But at the same time, he says the defending champions are a force to be reckoned with.
01:40I think all teams have a pretty decent team.
01:43But obviously, Ghana have been the strongholding for the cricket for the longest while.
01:47So obviously they will be a tough opponent to turn over.
01:51Also, Barbados, they play some good cricket throughout all formats.
01:55So I think those are the two teams we really have to look out for.
01:57But then again, all the teams, they are improving.
02:00So we have to play well against everybody.
02:03While batting as Mohamed's forte, he still puts in some work on his offspin.
02:08After all, he's trying to serve TNT in the best way possible on the field of play.
02:13Yeah, I bowl in practice almost every session, just in case the team needs me.
02:19Obviously, we have a lot of spinners.
02:20So if I'm needed, then I'll be called upon.
02:23So anytime I'm called upon, I'm willing to try and do our job for the team.
02:26Time will tell if Mohamed is going to add to his 27 wickets, which he currently has at first class
02:32level.
