00:00I got to admit, I was making a typical, I was acting like a typical delusional fan.
00:10And I have been acting and behaving like a person that kind of was kidding himself along the way.
00:19And that is in the notion, because I'm such a big Falcon fan, because I want things to go well,
00:24and because obviously Matt Ryan has been a friend for many years and the whole organization,
00:29and I operate as a fan, even when I did those videos that kind of went viral after the games,
00:33and I was losing my mind, and I think they knew it was good, you know, good nature.
00:37I root for the team. I don't take pop shots.
00:39I don't say mean things about, you know, coaches other than, you know, good decision, bad decision.
00:46The guy might lose his job, whatever it is.
00:48You know, I try to, you know, we have a microphone in front of us, but at the end of
00:52the day, I'm a Falcons fan.
00:53So that's why I've been sitting here saying, well, the James Pierce thing, you found a first-round pick
00:58that is everything you ever wanted on the field, a double-digit sack guy with 10.5 sacks,
01:03a guy where you traded away a first-round pick from this year, which makes it even more, you know,
01:10has more weight to it all, right, in order to get James Pierce, and it all worked out on the
01:16field.
01:17It was a better pass rusher. I think the number I had was seven for over-under, and I said
01:21under,
01:22not likely a rookie's going to have more than seven sacks. That would be unbelievable.
01:25He had 10.5. Clearly, Terry made the right pick, and Raheem, in terms of grabbing him,
01:30in terms of on the field. And when I thought about the Falcons moving forward,
01:35and I thought about Bajon and Drake London and whatever happens to Michael Penix Jr.,
01:39and I said, well, at least we're going to be set up in defense because of Jalen
01:42and because of James Pierce and, you know, Jesse's going to be back and some other guys,
01:46obviously our best players. So when all that nastiness surfaced,
01:51I found myself saying maybe he takes some time away. Maybe they plead down. Maybe we get him back
01:58on the field. All of the kinds of things that I really shouldn't have been thinking about. What I
02:03should have been thinking about is what's the message of having somebody like this as part of
02:08your organization? So the latest came out yesterday, and I hope you guys are following the Michael
02:13Rothstein, Mark Ramondi, deep dive, peeling the onion back layers. That is James Pierce Jr.
02:19and his relationship, which was almost four years long, with Rekia Jackson.
02:24The latest is that she says, I am in fear of my life and files a petition for protection against
02:31him. There have been seven 911 calls starting last fall that led up to this horrific event
02:39the night, the morning after the NFL Honor Awards during Super Bowl weekend.
02:44When you hear the details, y'all, this gentleman, this young man needs serious help. Forget that he
02:53plays football. If this is your daughter, if this is your sister, if this is your mom, this is not
03:00about football. This man is threatening this young woman's life. It is domestic abuse. It is verbal
03:07abuse. It is physical abuse, according to her allegations, which I believe. The WNBA players who
03:13are her friends who have posted on social media says, we have the tape. We have videos. We have
03:20receipts on it. Right. So I do not think this is a Falcons issue. And I know that a lot
03:26of us as
03:26Falcon fans, like you're saying, because I agree. Wow. Well, he had 10 and a half sacks. Guess what?
03:32He should be gone. He needs help. He needs mental help. The fact that he's still alive is his blessing
03:39stake. Because do you realize when he took his Lamborghini and is ramming into a policeman and
03:45their guns are pulled, there were three police officers with their guns pulled at him in Miami.
03:49Yeah. The ice situation that happened in Minnesota, wherever you fall and driving at the police officer
03:55aggressively or not. And of course, she ends up getting shot and killed in that scenario.
03:59This is every bit probably even more aggressive, one would argue, certainly more dangerous,
04:08and that they kept their wits about him and didn't shoot him dead when essentially that would have
04:13been probably a justifiable homicide in that situation. He literally rammed the guy, the police
04:19officer and hit his knee and ran into him. Yeah. I mean, listen, there's not a job I can think
04:26of
04:26in America where you will not be called into the office by your boss and said, we've compiled a
04:35bunch of these details. We've read the police report. We did our own investigation. You're no
04:41longer going to be with this company. We had Molly Batten here was the CMO of Home Depot yesterday.
04:46They have 500,000 employees for Home Depot. I can promise you there's not one of them that would
04:52survive those allegations and still have their job. There's not one of them that you could read about
04:59the history of, you know, threats and violence and just, you know, absolutely terrifying behavior
05:11towards a, a female. This guy's a monster. What is he? Six, five, two 60. This is a, you know,
05:19yes, she's a WNBA player. Well, I couldn't help but think stake about OJ Simpson, you guys. And those
05:24of you that remember the details of this was years long of Nicole and she was with breaking up and
05:32getting back together and the allegations and the calls to the home and then getting in her phone.
05:36So the latest was that James thought that she was cheating. And then this Rekia is like,
05:42here's all my phones I'm trying to prove. And then she, she alleges that he now put a bag over
05:47her.
05:47Okay. Y'all the details are, and I'm not, I'm not trying to be dramatic here. I promise you,
05:52but guess how that ended. Guess how that ended OJ Simpson. So I don't know what you're waiting on.
05:59I do know what they're waiting on because you, you have to do it by the, by the book in
06:03terms of
06:04money back and draft picks and all that stuff legally. But I would like to think those at
06:08flowery branch, there is no gray issue here. This is a very much active. You are not playing here
06:13anymore. This is not part of the Atlanta Falcon culture. And we would like to help you get some
06:18help because that's what this is about. Don't you just have to release them? I, you're, you,
06:22you can release anybody you want at any time. So I don't know what we're waiting on at this point.
06:26What more do you have to hear? Sandra and I were on a pre-show meeting. She said, this is
06:30OJ Simpson.
06:31And I said, that is a perfect way to put it. What is it about this situation that doesn't sound
06:36similar to any domestic, you know, violent situation that ends in the murder of a young
06:44lady. And then you hear, Oh, there were seven visits to the house. Oh, there were this many
06:49phone calls. Oh, this woman said she feared for her life talking. He's sitting outside her
06:54house. He's offering her, her car, $75,000 to stay with me. Here's $200,000. If you'll remain
07:01with the relationship. So what I'm saying y'all, this is mentally off and he is crying for help.
07:08He is crying for help. And this is not about a football team. This is a gentleman that needs
07:14some help. Well, how about just, he's a bad guy. How about he's just a bad guy that obviously has
07:20not been raised appropriately. And you know, if you put lay hands on a woman, if you may ram your
07:25car
07:26into her, yes, you need help. You're also not somebody that deserves to collect an NFL paycheck
07:31from the Atlanta Falcons. Just because you can sack the quarterback. Right. Okay. So I don't want
07:36to, if he was a long snapper, he'd already be cut. A hundred percent. I'm telling you right now. You're
07:40a hundred percent. So 10 and a half sacks, please don't bring that up because that argument is lame
07:44and disrespectful to all women. That's what that is. Yeah. Listen, I don't think you're going to hear
07:50people say 10 and a half sacks. Well, I've heard it nonstop on, on the radio vibes in the, well,
07:5610 and a half sacks and we're going to see where there's plans. Well, what people are saying is
08:00let the legal process play out. What they're really saying is we don't want to lose them. So they're
08:06not, you know, and I, by the way, I get it. I mean, I raised my, I got two daughters.
08:10I'm,
08:10I'm disgusted at the notion that in back of my head, I was like, maybe we can figure this out.
08:14Maybe takes a year away. Dude, this guy has got to be gone. Arthur blank read whatever story
08:21yesterday was. He read it two days before we did. Matt Ryan is in that building. There's a new
08:26sheriff in town. He's got an absolutely lovely wife, beautiful family, three great kids comes
08:31from the salt of the earth. Parents. He's reading something like that and just says that is not the
08:35culture I'm having on my football team. He needs to be gone. Be proud that that shouldn't be our
08:39culture. Stand for something. Get up on your high horse and say, we will not tolerate that
08:45in flowery branch. That is not what we're going to do. If he ends up in Minnesota in three years
08:51and
08:51has 14 sacks, God bless. Good for you. Right. He's rehabilitated. He spent some time away. It's a
08:59story where he may come in. I don't care. This is over. Do not consider that James Pierce Jr.
09:08has one more snap ever. Forget about the NFL. We can't control the rest of the league. He should
09:14never be in a Falcons uniform. He shouldn't be on campus. If you walk into a weight room and he's
09:20still allowed in it, I don't know the details. I'm not coming down to the Fox because I think
09:24they're going to act. Right. I do too. I have faith. But Sanders said it perfectly. 404-726-0929.
09:34404-726-0929. Sanders said it perfectly. It's O.J. Simpson. It almost ended up that way already.
09:41Yeah. At least for him. He could have been the dead one. And it will end up that way or
09:46could have.
09:47Do you know how many times we've done this job and talked about, oh, there were signs leading up to
09:52it.
09:52There was this sign. There was that sign. And there was this sign. It all led up to it. Wow.
09:56We should
09:56have done something. Now's the time. Craziness. Thank you, Sandra.
