00:03He's actually a columnist, and he does pretty well at that.
00:07But I think that he kind of wishes he was more sort of like a Woodward Bernstein.
00:13And even though he's married and
00:16has this great wife and kids, there's a little bit of...
00:20Oh, gosh. Would it be better to be out there.
00:24When you read in the script you just sort of take it for granted.
00:26Ok, at this point Marley jumps up on the bed and begins tearing up the pillow.
00:32You're like, ok.
00:33But then when you get there you're like, jeez, now this dog is going to have to do this.
00:38And the trainers have been incredible.
00:41I don't know how many Marleys we have, how many dogs we have playing Marley,
00:45but there's a lot of them because we have to cover the whole span from a puppy to old dog
00:52Marley.
00:54And it's been great.
00:57David asked if maybe my parents would want to play my parents in the movie.
01:02And so they came from Dallas, here to Miami and were here for a few days and they really kind
01:07of had to do some like, you know, acting.
01:10And then my dad was also kind of cocky, like right after like the first take my dad was like
01:15saying,
01:16is it too early to say a star is born?
01:20And he did do a good job.
01:22And then my mother was like a little bit nervous at first and, you know,
01:25I think she has a hard time kind of raising her voice, but then she got into it.
01:30And she was able to kind of tap into her sort of 1983 mom mode where she spent a lot
01:39of time yelling at us.
01:41You couldn't ask for a better movie wife than Jen.
01:44And it seems like with this character, like that just everything, you know, that all her sort of, you know,
01:54instincts and everything on how to play the character,
01:57everything just seems like exactly, you know, the way when I read the script, the way I kind of imagined
02:03it.
02:04David has been great.
02:07I just really got along with them and beyond getting along with them.
02:11I think the best thing when you work with somebody is if you feel like that they're, you know, sort
02:16of,
02:17you can kind of trust their judgment and that they're, you know, they're the person in charge making the decisions
02:24and kind of runs the show.
02:26And it does it in a way that kind of makes everybody feel like they're a part of the process.
