00:19For example, former Mali Islamic Police senior member Alhassan Ag Abdulaziz
00:24has been in ICC custody for 2,903 days or almost 8 years.
00:28Former high-ranking militia commander Mahamad Saeed Abdelkani,
00:32who has the shortest time detained at the ICC at 1,873 days so far,
00:37has still served more than five times the duration of Duterte's current stay.
00:41Both are detained on charges of crimes against humanity and war crimes.
00:45Duterte was arrested in the Philippines on March 11, 2025
00:48and transferred to the ICC detention center in The Hague the following day.
00:52The hearing to confirm the charges against Duterte concluded on February 27.
00:56The court's pre-trial chamber now has 60 days since that date
01:00to decide whether the case will proceed to a full trial.
01:03If the case goes to trial, that period alone takes at least three years on average.
01:08Supporters and allies of Duterte continue to call for his release.
