The High Court was told that RM6mil was deposited into Bersatu's bank account at AmBank between February and November 2022.

AmBank assistant manager Nor Paizah Osman, 45, testified that denominations of RM500,000 and RM1mil, amounting to RM6mil, were deposited into the account through cheques in 10 transactions.

00:01The KL High Court heard fresh testimony in the corruption trial of former Prime Minister Tanshri
00:06Muhyiddin Yassin as a bank official took the stand to detail large cash deposits made into
00:11Bersatu's account. AmBank Assistant Manager Noor Paisa Osman testified on Wednesday that a total
00:17of 6 million ringgit was deposited into Bersatu's current account at AmBank's AmCorp Mall branch
00:22through 10 check transactions made between February and November 2022. The deposits came
00:26in denominations of 500,001 million ringgit each. The account, she confirmed, was opened
00:32under Bersatu's name on the 18th of September 2018. The witness identified six authorised
00:38signatories on the account, including Muhyiddin, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir and four other party
00:43officials. When asked by Deputy Public Prosecutor Nuralis Mat, who was Bersatu President during
00:49the period the money came in, Noor Paisa's answered Tanshri Muhyiddin. During cross-examination,
00:54Muhyiddin's lawyer, Datuk Amir Hamza Arshad, pressed the witness on the nature of the transactions
00:59and she held firm. The witness confirmed that no enquiries had been received from the registrar
01:04of societies regarding Bersatu's finances. She could not, however, recall whether Bank Nagara
01:10had made similar enquiries. Amir put it plainly to the witness that all check transactions were
01:15without issue, that everything appeared proper, and that the transactions were, in her words,
01:20normal banking transactions. She agreed on all counts. The lawyer also drew attention to the
01:25six signatories, establishing that no single person had sole control over the account.
01:30The hearing before Justice Noor Ruin Ahmad Nordin is set to resume on the 13th of April.
