00:19than this administration has told them about the cost of the war,
00:23the danger to our sons and daughters in uniform,
00:27and the potential for further escalation and widening of this war,
00:34a war of choice made by this president.
00:39I emerged from this briefing as dissatisfied and angry, frankly,
00:47as I have from any past briefing in my 15 years in the Senate.
00:54I am left with more questions than answers, especially about the cost of the war.
01:06My questions have been unanswered, and I will demand answers,
01:13because the American people deserve to know.
01:16And I guess I am most concerned about the threat to American lives
01:25of potentially deploying our sons and daughters on the ground in Iran.
01:31We seem to be on a path toward deploying American troops on the ground in Iran
01:39to accomplish any of the potential objectives here.
01:43And there is also, as disturbingly as anything else, the specter of active Russian aid to Iran,
01:57putting in danger American lives.
02:02And, literally, Russia seems to be aiding our enemy actively and intensively with intelligence
02:10and perhaps with other means.
02:11And China also may be assisting Iran.
02:17So, the American people deserve to know much more than this administration has told them about the cost of the

02:25the danger to our sons and daughters in uniform,
02:29and the potential for further escalation and widening of this war,
02:36a war of choice made by this president,
02:41not chosen by the American people,
02:43with potentially huge consequences to American lives.
