Air raid sirens echo across Israeli cities. Residents rush to bomb shelters. And streaks of light from missiles and interceptors fill the night sky.

As the war between Iran and Israel enters its second week, the human cost is slowly rising. According to official reports, 13 people have been killed in Israel since the conflict began. And in just the last 24 hours, 191 people have been hospitalized with injuries as missile attacks continue.

But behind these numbers is a story of constant alerts, near misses, and a region on edge.

The latest phase of the conflict began on February 28, when U.S. and Israeli forces launched strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, missile infrastructure, and military targets. Iran responded quickly.

00:27As the war between Iran and Israel enters its second week, the human cost is slowly rising.
00:33According to official reports, 13 people have been killed in Israel since the conflict began,
00:39and in just the last 24 hours, 191 people have been hospitalized with injuries as missile
00:46attacks continue. But behind these numbers is a story of constant alerts, near misses,
00:53and a region on edge. The latest phase of the conflict began on February 28, when U.S. and
01:00Israeli forces launched strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, missile infrastructure,
01:05and military targets. Iran responded quickly. Within hours, waves of ballistic missiles and
01:12drones were launched toward Israel and U.S. interests in the region. Since then, multiple missile barrages
01:18have targeted Israeli cities, triggering frequent air raid sirens across the country. Israel's powerful
01:25multi-layered air defense network has been working around the clock. Systems like Iron Dome, David's
01:32Sling, and the long-range aero interceptors are designed to detect and destroy incoming missiles
01:38missiles before they reach populated areas. The worst attack so far occurred early in the conflict.
01:45On March 1, an Iranian ballistic missile struck a residential neighborhood in Beit Shemesh,
01:51near Jerusalem. The missile slammed directly into civilian structures, causing severe destruction.
01:58Emergency responders from Israel's Magin David Adam confirmed that at least nine civilians were killed in
02:05that single strike. Dozens more people were injured, with several suffering serious wounds. Additional deaths
02:12have occurred in separate missile incidents across central Israel. In the Tel Aviv area, two civilians,
02:18including a Filipina caregiver and an elderly Israeli woman, were killed following a missile strike or
02:25falling debris from intercepted missiles. Other scattered incidents involving shrapnel and direct impacts
02:31have added to the toll. Altogether, the confirmed number of people killed in Israel since the war began
02:38now stands at around 13. Israel's Ministry of Health says 191 people were hospitalized in the past 24 hours
02:48alone. That brings the total number of hospital admissions since the start of the war to more than 2300.
02:55Many of these injuries are caused by shrapnel, blast waves, falling debris from intercepted missiles,
03:01and even medical emergencies triggered by the stress and panic during air raid sirens. Overnight,
03:08Iranian media reported that two people were killed by missile fire near Tel Aviv. According to Iran's
03:15deputy health minister, more than 1200 people have been killed in Iran, with over 12,000 wounded,
03:22including civilians affected by strikes on infrastructure and residential areas. The conflict has also drawn in
03:29regional actors, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, and has impacted U.S. bases across the Gulf. The situation
03:37remains extremely tense. Sirens continue to sound across Israeli cities. Missiles continue to launch
03:44across the region. And with both sides vowing to continue fighting, the skies over the Middle East remain
03:52one of the most dangerous battlegrounds in the world.
03:57Good doctor.
