Transcript
00:01NDHQ, the new Performing Arts Centre in Liverpool's Peerhead, brings together Dynamics Performing Arts College and the Naseen Danielle School
00:09of Performing Arts to offer training for talented young performers.
00:13NDHQ is a performing arts conservatoire and within it lives a full-time performing arts school, which is called Naseen
00:22Danielle School of Performing Arts, and a full-time performing arts college, which is called Dynamics Performing Arts.
00:29And it just doesn't end there. We have a Saturday dance school. We offer classes for the community. We do
00:37adult classes.
00:39The Naseen Danielle School provides a full-time alternative to mainstream education for students aged 8 to 16, combining core
00:46academic study in the morning with intense performing arts trainings in the afternoon and evenings.
00:51My favourite thing about coming here is probably getting to do more performing arts than academic, because I love everything
00:58to do with performing arts. That's just what I want to do.
01:00You get to do your performing arts, but also, even in the academic side of things, the classes are smaller,
01:07so you get much more attention from the teachers when you need it.
01:11You can be yourself here, because everyone's here, they've all got the same dreams, just for different things. And it
01:18just, I feel so much more confident.
01:21The centre's location in the historic Port of Liverpool building situates students in a culturally significant setting, reflecting Liverpool's artistic
01:29heritage.
01:31It's just, it's an incredible location, and I'd like to say I'm very lucky, and I am very lucky, but
01:36it took 25 years of, you know, really putting the hours in and making this dream come true.
01:44Facilities support multiple disciplines, including dance, drama and music, allowing students to perform at theatres and live events.
01:50The programme's designed to balance academic achievement with industry-standard training, providing clear routes to careers in the performing arts.
01:58I really hope that we're creating a centre here that is accessible to everybody. Like I said before, whether it's
02:07just a hobby, and, you know, maybe there's a shy child who just needs that little outlet to kind of
02:13find themselves.
02:15But if it's your passion, and if you think, you know, it's something that you want to do for the
02:22rest of your life, then this is going to be amazing for you.
02:28NDHQ aims to nurture local talent, offering performance opportunities, professional pathways, and a creative curriculum focused on wellbeing and individual
02:37development.
02:38I think because we do, like, panto and stuff here, we get to dance in panto. I think that's my
02:43goal, to be in panto when I'm all done.
02:45I really want to be a dancer and singer and actor on the West End, because as soon as, like,
02:53I go on stage, all the anxiety and, like, nervousness just leaves everybody and I just feel good.
02:59Thank you, God.
