00:00There's a reason why you have a certain group that tries to avoid the activity that went on yesterday.
00:08Take a look, guys. Philadelphia, I believe, Green Bay, Jacksonville, Denver, and Seattle.
00:20I don't think any of those clubs have signed a free agent from another team.
00:25And we know that the Seahawks won the Super Bowl, Broncos reached the AFC title game,
00:34and Jacksonville, Green Bay, and Philadelphia were all right last season as well.
00:41So when you get the program rolling, you try to become really selective in free agency.
00:51We didn't see the Bears attempting to win the offseason yesterday, which I think is a good thing.
00:57Because, again, it's just so hard to turn free agent signings into valued members, guys who you get a real
01:11return on your money from.
01:12So I like the Kobe Bryant edition.
01:18I'm curious with Devin Bush.
01:20And now the Bears have got a little more work to do.
01:25But for them to get big momentum this offseason, for them to find that springboard that propels them to better
01:36things,
01:36because it's about the draft, and it was about the draft once the last season ended.
01:42Like, that's where they've got to add to this thing again and get some building blocks,
01:49especially for that defense where they need more young talent, guys that they can develop,
01:57and then take advantage of those cost-controlled contracts so you're not dealing with sticker shock.
02:04Look at what you've got to pay to bring in some guys that you're like, yeah, he's okay.
02:11But, again, $16 million a year for quiddy pay, and I'm not trying to knock him.
02:15I know he's been a decent player in the league, but I think he's kind of middle of the road
02:21at that position.
02:22And that just goes to show you what you've got to pay on the open market.
