A new facility for people detained under the Mental Health Act could be created at Arrowe Park Hospital. The proposals will now be considered by Wirral Council.

00:18The unit would be located within part of the existing hospital and include accommodation, secure outdoor spaces, specialist safety features

00:28Planning documents say the scheme would support modernisation of NHS facilities while making use of existing buildings.
00:36The proposals are now being considered by Wirral Council, which will decide whether to grant permission for the new unit.
