00:00If Windows Update is stuck at 0% for almost hours, this video is for you.
00:07Mine took almost 24 hours to update. Let me show you how I fixed everything.
00:17First, confirm whether your Windows Update is stuck or not.
00:22Go to the search bar and type in settings.
00:25Here up, you will see settings, system. You double click on it.
00:30After double clicking on it, you will see this bar.
00:33You go down here, Windows Update. You double click on it.
00:38You will see pending updates here. All updates that are on 0%.
00:43If you have it, let's fix it.
00:46Step 2. Restart Windows Update Service.
00:49Press Windows button, press R on your keyboard.
00:54Then write there, the word service.
00:56Or, go to the search bar and type there, the word service.
01:01You will see it here up. You double click on it.
01:04Scroll down and look for Background Intelligent Transfer Service.
01:10Double click on it.
01:12Here down, you will see service status, running.
01:15And you click on Stop.
01:17Then you click OK.
01:19Then you go down and look for Windows Update.
01:23You see Windows Update is here.
01:25You double click on it.
01:27And you do the same thing.
01:29You stop it.
01:30And you say OK.
01:32Then in December, look for Cryptographic Service.
01:36You double click on it.
01:37Look for Service Status.
01:39You click on Stop.
01:41And leave this window open.
01:42Step 3. Clear Windows Update Catching.
01:46Press Windows button, press R on your keyboard.
01:49You will see this bar.
01:51Type there the word C slash Windows slash Software Distribution.
01:58Then you press Enter on keyboard.
02:00You will see this folder.
02:02These are temporary files which may collapse your Windows Update.
02:07So what you have to do, delete all these files in this folder.
02:13Step 4. Restart Update Service.
02:16Go to the Windows search bar here.
02:19Type Service again.
02:20Here up, you will see Service System.
02:23You double click on it.
02:25You scroll down and look for Windows Update first.
02:29As you scroll, you will see Windows Update here.
02:33You double click on it.
02:34This time, you are going to click on Start.
02:37Even come here on Startup Type and change it from Manual to Automatic.
02:43Then you click on Apply and OK.
02:47Again, look for Background Intelligent Transfer Service.
02:51It is here.
02:52Again, you change it to Start.
02:55And you look for Cryptographic Service.
02:59After seeing it, double click on it.
03:02And you click on Start.
03:04And then OK.
03:05Then restart your computer after doing this.
03:09For my case, after restarting my computer, Windows Update started Update Automatically.
03:16But if yours doesn't update, let's go to Step 5.
03:20Step 5.
03:21Run Windows Update Troubleshooter.
03:24This is how you can do it.
03:26Go to the Search bar.
03:28Type in Settings.
03:29Double click on this.
03:31You'll see Settings System.
03:33After reaching to this bar, scroll down.
03:36You will see Troubleshoot.
03:38Go to Other Troubleshooters.
03:40You will see Windows Update.
03:43Then click on Run.
03:45Windows will automatically check for Update Errors, Corrupted Services, and Missing Update Components.
03:52Step 6.
03:55Check disk space.
03:56If your local disk C is nearly full, updates may freeze.
04:01So make sure you have at least 25 to 30 GB space free.
04:07If you don't have that space, then clean temporary files on your disk C.

04:15This will guide you how to free up your disk C.
04:19and how to delete temporary files in your machine.
04:23Step 7.
04:25Restart Update Again.
04:28Now go back to Settings on Search bar and Search.
04:32Go to Windows Update.
04:34Then check for Updates.
04:36In most cases, the update should begin downloading normally, automatically again.
04:43Now, the next time you have this issue, you know what to do.
04:47Clearing corrupted cache files, restarting Windows Update Services, and repairing Windows Update Components.
