00:00We tried to do our own excursion one day and not do the ship's version of the
00:04volcano hike. We had a local in the port who volunteered to take us hiking to go
00:10see the volcano on his own accord. We had a lovely like first two hours we get to
00:15like the first peak and he was like well this is as far as they take you on the
00:19official cruise one however I'm gonna take you to the top so you can see in
00:23the volcano. We were free climbing sketchy branches coming out of the side
00:28of a very steep mountain and on the way back down I slipped and fell on a rock
00:33and got hung up on my shirt. The guy was like just drop I'll catch you and at
00:37that point I had no other option and so I dropped and I sliced my neck I like still
00:42have a scar to this day. I think if you stay with the ship you're more likely to
00:45have a more safe experience.
